And what if I said this is the best movie to come out of 2024? PLEASE watch this if you have Prime Video. It’s such a good message. It will make you laugh and give you that cry you’ve been holding onto for a week. Also, it is one of Aubrey Plaza’s career best performances (not counting Agatha All Along). And having watched Maisy Stella since the beginning in Nashville…that girlis going places, for sure. Will be rewatching in the future. 👩🏻🤝👩🏼🫂

i realize somthing i so commonly love in film is when there is no direct explanation for charecters emotions or mental star and you have to look at the space to understand. is there fire is there water is there earth? is the screen trapped and over filled with space or empty or roomy or lonley of free? look at the colors and the lighting. and then when there is like no interprets emotion is it’s completely instense and strong. of this character is upset depressed angry heartbroken elated.
and i feel it directly reflects who i am as a person i’m not someone who shows everyone my emotions all the time. like sometimes idgaf or i’m receiving something completely different than everyone in the room. and it changes the way i see the world. is the sun shining a burning heat that is gonna push me off the edge or is it a warm crisp that makes me feel alive?
so i don’t have to wish for another taste in cinema or feel like i have to ‘expand’ or be like another. bc my love of cinema is a direct connection to how u love myself and how i receive the world

Spring Movie/TV Wrap Up
It’s been a while! With packing, moving, and unpacking I haven’t been watching as much scripted content. It’s pretty much been all podcasts or other Youtube videos—how boring, I know. I also just haven’t Beene in the mood of watching quality content? If that makes any sense. I can already tell June is going to be much better. Continue reading Spring Movie/TV Wrap Up

I love reading about the emotional lives of scientists, I love how, more often than not, they are either more romantic than Chopin or more sinister than satan himself. I love reading their love letters, I love how they describe their work with such excitement that I can't help but be overwhelmed and infected by their wonder. I cry for their tragedies and I cheer for their joys, I remember that they were children too, they were confused teenagers, passionate young adults, amateur poets, cinefiles, car enthusiasts, angsty students, insecure lovers, they were more human than most of us.
If we want more kids to want to become scientists we must show them the deeply moving stories of hope and grief past scientists have went through so they can see themselves in them.

♦ Askin
ASK GAME| ♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
I’ve been staring at this ask for a while because Askin seems very quirky but also makes such good arguments, he ends up being reasonable.
Idk if it's a quirk but he always carries snacks with him. No matter where or what the situation is, BAM! He takes out a snack to munch.
The sternritter have their staff to prepare the meals for them but Askin is known to prefer cooking his own food. He can get quite meticulous about it. The breakfast is like a ritual, completed with his café au lait.
Askin likes to study people. Depending on who you ask he can be considered a bit creepy, yet he is just some guy standing on the side and observing. Sometimes its to combat boredom but it can have its advantages. If this was a modern AU, he would like to take a sit in the park, at the mall, on a building, on a café’s terrace and simply look at what is unfolding before him. Usually he can give a Sherlock Holmes kind of breakdown about random people in public. Some are harder to crack, and they give him low anxiety because they are usually dark, cryptic characters and potentially dangerous.
Speaking of modern AU…. Askin’s hobby would be watching movies. A cinefil. Since young he liked to go alone to watch movies. I'd say the older he got, the more he liked movies. The kind of guy to be found alone in a movie theater, always with his snacks, of course. But he’d also go to events, watch on TV, streaming platforms, own DVDs and VHS collections, even projectors. Watching from home is nice and cozy! As you would guess, his commentaries and reviews would be 10+/10.

🚨[now on Patreon] Back Track 018: Well, there it is. | Amadeus (1984) Director's Cut 🎻 🎹
To say that I'm beyond thrilled to talk about Amadeus would be an understatement. Like I have mentioned before, I can't believe it has taken this long to review this literal perfect film. The obsessive nature between the two men we compare to more contemporary film dynamics (*cough Saltburn). We are talking the Director's Cut of this film since the extra 20 minutes are just a gift to us as cinefiles. I honestly don't think there is anything bad to say about this film and we talk about how a 'Best Picture' winner hasn't really come close since.
Me and @charleshaslam had such a great time finding out all the behind the scenes, the history of the real men, and get into how we love to watch films about rivalries.
Off-topic rants include: Zoobilee Zoo, who was Kurt Cobain's 'Salieri'?, the Family Guy spoof, and The Cure movie from 1995
