I also like that Spiderverse has the spider people be from different universes so there's not multiple spider people in one universe minus Earth 1610 but 1610!Peter died and then Miles became Spider-Man
That's what I kinda hate about Earth 616 because there's multiple fucking spiders in it all at once
You have Peter
And then Miles
And then Anya
And then Julia
And Mattie
And Jess
And Cindy
And Ezekiel Sims
And Cassandra Webb
And now Ghost-Spider is permanently in Earth 616
It's annoying what's so special about being Spider-Man if there's like ten Spider-Mans in one universe? (And yes I know Cassandra is Madame Web and Ezekiel is dead but my point still stands)

With Hanukkah and Christmas steadily approaching, Cindy was unsurprised to see the halls at HQ almost empty. What was surprising was that it was more relaxed than eerie. Clutching the two cups of coffee in her hands, she nods at the odd passersby, even smiles though her mask hides it.
Christmas used to be one of her favorite times of year before the bunker. Ezekiel didn't really do anything to celebrate for her, maybe brought her the odd book to add to her tiny collection--but nothing to the same effect that her family had. And though she and her mother had had a strained relationship since she was freed, the holidays are a little easier. The house is full of warmth and laughter, the smell of good food and simmer pots swirls around the air.
It reminds her of better times and it's a time she's come to cherish.
She'd been putting in a lot of thought into her gifts, working into the night on some occasions to make sure they were just right. For her mother, a hand knit sweater in her favorite color. For her father, she'd gone out searching for the perfect watch after he'd casually mentioned he'd broken his original. For Al, a new set of knives for his new position as sous chef at his restaurant and a new apron. Peter and MJ would be recipients of tickets to the show MJ had suggested months ago and for Mayday? Of course she had to buy her the biggest, messiest art kit that she could get her hands on.
Miguel's gift had been another one that she'd worked tirelessly on--since the day after Thanksgiving. There were constant nights where she'd collapse on her bed, smudged with lead and smeared with paint. Anxiety constantly ebbed and flowed and she worried that he would hate it. Since she finished the piece, Cindy went back and forth with just going to the store and buying him something.
It was getting to the point where she didn't have time to keep alternating between ideas.
She hadn't done the piece with any kind of intention--just a reflection of a time they shared that she looked on with fondness. He was, with the strongest definition of the term, her best friend. She valued having him in her life, regardless of the connotations.
Even if she found herself thinking about a deeper connection more and more since Thanksgiving.
And even more so after her date with Derek.
He was a nice enough guy, and they had a decent time. He hadn't tried to kiss more than her cheek and they had good conversation.
But he wasn't the one. It had occurred to her that she couldn't be with someone she had to lie to, at least not in the long-term. And she liked Derek. Not enough to share her life with, but enough to not want to have to constantly lie about who she was. As much as she'd like to take credit for declining a second date, it had been more of a mutual decision.
(And, she'd never admit this to Miguel but the meat eating had been a problem.)
Not to mention, her mind had been all over the place since Thanksgiving. Overanalyzing his kiss to her cheek had come and gone, determined to be just friendly by her forced recognition. But still, she couldn't fight off the lingering feeling that there was something more there.
Not to mention, she'd been noticing just how...beautiful he was in recent days. The lines and creases of his face, his steady posture, the rare smile that she felt privileged to see, the way joy will glimmer in his eyes at a stupid joke...If she had been an artist of old, he'd be her muse.
But she was born in the modern age and it was considered a faux pas to send two texts in a row to a guy. Jesus.
Dr. Sinclair had her work cut out for her that week.
Using her shoulder to slip into Miguel's office, she sits and nudges his cup closer to him on his desk. Neat fingers tug down her mask so she can take a long sip of her own.
"How grateful are you that it's so damn quiet right now?" She teases, leaning her hip against the side of his desk.

I've come to the conclusion that Ezekiel has some kind of inherent luck charm. This came to me from @angelwiththeblue-box who gave me this concept when I first saw the show and I just had to add on and it's now part of my personal canon so.
The first episode I think we see this in is And the Apple of Discord. when he gets the apple nothing actually happens to him??? and the explanation is that he's already the worst version of himself which feels like such bs?? sure, he can be annoying at times and he's a thief, but the narrative never frames this as some sort of moral failing, especially when we find out later on his steals helped a lot of people so this never made any sense to me, so luck charm (obviously this is not the moment that prompted this theory, I'm just going chronologically and this is just one piece in the overarching theory)
In And The Fables of Doom he turns into a fairy tale archetype just like everyone else, but also he kinda doesn't?? at the end of the episode when everyone describes how odd and different their experience was and Ezekiel points out he doesn't feel any different, he just says, "Yeah. Well, everybody tells me I can't do what I want, can't rely on luck, but when a magic spell turns everybody into heroes of legend, who did it turn me into? Me!" I think the story book sort of enhanced the luck to make it more obvious (hence the quarter rolling up a flight of stairs through a hallway) but I think it's clear there's something there from the start.
Less of a compelling fact, but I also want to note how Ezekiel was the first one pulled into the dollhouse in And the Heart of Darkness aka the first one being pulled to safety. It's a little thing for sure, but I wanted to toss it into the ring.
In And the Curse of Cindy I always found it odd Ezekiel was the only one not affected by Cindy's love curse. Yeah, they try and explain it away with the fact that he was already in love with her, but that doesn't make sense since he didn't really remember her, he just kinda went "huh she's kinda familiar" throughout the episode before making the connection later on, and to me, luck charm feels more like an explanation.
And then we have And the Steal of a Fortune. The episode that sparked this whole thing in the first place. In an episode where every character has comically bad luck, Ezekiel is so weirdly immune to it. He's lucky and successful against Fortuna's goons and it's fascinating because even the narrative calls out how odd it is Ezekiel isn't affected-
Eve: How come it isn't affecting you!
Ezekiel, clearly guessing: I guess I broke the spell when I hacked the [slot] machine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jake: How the hell do you hack a fight?!?
They could've left Ezekiel's explanation as good enough, but by having Jake question it, it's the narrative telling you to question it, yet it's never brought up again. Plus, it's not like they needed a character to be immune simply to win, like a minute later Eve comes up with a loophole to try doing the opposite thing and it works. I'd also like to point out that this luck of his beats out the luck of Fortuna, who is the goddess of luck. She's not just some creature of the week, she's a goddamn goddess.
I'm sure a lot of this probably wasn't intended to lead to the conclusion that Ezekiel has some sort of inherent luck charm, but it's just something I've noticed while watching the show and have incorporated into my personal canon. If you've got some other thoughts/evidence please add on, I'd love to hear them!

the librarians "and the curse of cindy" s3e7 watch through:
[as the librarians all appear running out a door] ezekiel: "we really need to find wider doors". lol i love how they lampshade all the little stuff like that.
ooh so is flynn grifting, or under the weird spell? how can the team be sure? interesting
the cyndi chant is really catchy. C-Y, N-D-I, for you, we would die :)
why is DOSA here and why are they helping this woman?? are they under the spell as well?
"food physicist" leverage reference lowkey
ah, a love (obsession) potion.
jenkins applying the awful-smelling salve to ezekiel just to mess with him lol. i love u jenkins.
huh, that’s a cool different spin on ezekiel being egotistical: he actually does love himself, which is not the worst thing in the world! often shows have the moral of "thinking too highly of yourself can be harmful" which can be true of course. but you rarely see the flip side, that sometimes having extremely low self esteem doesn’t just make you humble or shy or whatever, it can have negative effects on people around you and ruin your relationships.
ezekiel backstory! we haven’t heard all that much of his backstory so far, at least not his childhood i mean. we know about the thief life but not so much before that.
ezekiel "eeny meeny miney moe"-ing to find the missile launch shut down button lmaooo
aww ezekiel saying he loves his team & that loving them has been beneficial for him. cute. this has been a very ezekiel focused episode.
ooh love interest or one off kiss??
UH ezekiel still has some love potion? UM. UH. UM. WORRYING. WHY.

The Librarians: Romantic Orientations
Eve – pan or bi Cassandra – confirmed pan/bi in both the show and this interview Jake – it’s complicated (see my other post: Is Jake Stone from The Librarians queer?) Ezekiel – at first I was getting aroace spectrum vibes from him but it seems he has a thing for pixie-like women with short hair such as Sylalandria and Cindy
In conclusion, everyone is pan/bi except Ezekiel who could still be on the aroace spectrum.

What is your take on Ezekiel from The Librarians possibly being asexual? I saw a post about it here on tumblr and I believe there is one fanfic on AO3 about it set after the whole Cindy thing.
Personally I actually really liked the op reasoning and believes that it could be a possibility.
I absolutely love the idea of asexual Ezekiel! I'm not sure I've seen the specific post you're talking about but I've seen post that casually mention ace Ezekiel. If you can find that post I'd love to take a look at it!

The Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) #13: Spider-Men: No More
Read Date: July 03, 2023 Cover Date: March 2015 ● Writer: Dan Slott ● Penciler: Giuseppe Camuncoli ● Inker: Cam Smith ● Colorist: Justin Ponsor ● Letterer: Chris Eliopoulos ● Editor: Nick Lowe ◦ Devin Lewis ●
Tumblr media
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● oooo, Otto’s gonna hear some stuff about himself he won’t like… ● and there’s Pavitr Prabhakar without his mask! I just read Spider-Man: India issue 1 right before this, in which I saw him without his mask for the first time. ● also, Spider-Gwen and Silk? I’m here for it. ● uh-oh
Tumblr media
● did the Inheritors forget they can’t regenerate themselves? ● YES, fucking finally ● Otto-Spidey here with a much-needed, fairly savage pep talk! ● ok, now we’re getting somewhere! ● 👏👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: On Loomworld, the Inheritors convene and Jennix apologizes to Solus for failing to stop the destruction of the cloning facility, while Brix and Bora reveal that the Spiders have taken refuge on the one world they cannot go to. Solus dismisses them, saying that as long as they have the Scion, the Bride and the Other will come to them, stating that it is time to exterminate the Spider-Totems once and for all.
On Earth-3145, Uncle Ben explains that after being bitten by the spider, he became his world's Spider-Man, wearing a costume from his nephew. All went well until his nemesis, the Emerald Elf, figured out who he was and bombed the Parker household, killing May and Peter. Ben quit being Spider-Man, and when Ezekiel Sims told him he was in danger from Morlun, accepted his offer to stay in the bunker.
Peter and Otto press Ben for further details as to why he let the world fall into ruin, and Ben reveals that his world's Otto Octavius held the world at ransom with nuclear weapons, but there had been a mistake and the device detonated prematurely. While Otto expresses disbelief and dismay at his counterpart's actions, Peter takes out the scrolls Jessica sent them. Silk, feeling guilty for having gotten Jessica trapped, sneaks away, but is tailed by Gwen, who offers to join her in a rescue mission.
Paviitr Prabhakar and Billy Braddock have an existential discussion, with the former taking note of the overwhelming number of similarities between himself and the other Spider-Totems, especially the Peter Parker of Earth-616. Paviitr states that it feels like he and the others are echoes or distorted reflections of Earth-616 Peter, and therefore expendable in the coming battle. Billy refutes this, stating that while there are thousands of members in the Captain Britain Corps, each one is unique and special in their own way.
Otto, angered by the actions of his counterpart and frustrated by the others' inability to translate the Master Weaver's scrolls, furiously snatches the scroll away and activates his holographic assistant. When Peter notes that it has a striking resemblance to Anna Maria Marconi, Otto abruptly realizes that Peter is from later in the Earth-616 timeline and therefore that he regains control of his body, with Otto losing everything. Before he can do anything, Anya Corazon reveals that, due to her original powers having come from a cult that worships the Spider-Totems, she can read the text, stating that the first scroll contains a prophecy that the Inheritors will lose to the Spiders in 1000 years in the future, and that the only way of averting this fate is by sacrificing the Other, the Bride, and the Scion, which will stop new spider-totems from rising. Mayday furiously demands they travel to Loomworld and rescue her brother, and at that point the Spiders realize that Cindy has run off again. Peter contacts her to find her in the middle of a brawl with multiversal pirates, one of whom destroys her teleporter.
On Earth-802, Kaine angrily rebukes Earth-1610 Jess' attempts to console him over Ben's sacrifice, traveling to Loomworld. The Inheritors, sensing the presence of the Other and the Bride, go on the offensive. On Earth-3145, Anya states they can use the contents of the second scroll, which contains Karn's life story, to sway him to their side and turn things in the Spiders' favor. Peter contacts Kaine, who reveals he is on Loomworld and intends to kill the Inheritors himself before tapping into the Other's full power. Peter contacts his away teams, ordering them to rendezvous at Loomworld ASAP, shouting down Miguel O'Hara's protests. Earth-1610 Jess reveals that she's stuck at Jennix's base, but Miles calls in and says his squad will pick her up.
On Loomworld, Kaine transforms into a massive Man-Spider as the Inheritors arrive. Morlun remarks that the last time he faced the Other, when it was hosted by Peter, it was nowhere near as powerful, and Solus remarks it is due to it being in the Center of Reality. The Other impales Solus on multiple spines mid-boast, killing him, and Morlun attacks in a rage, ripping off one of the Other's legs and stabbing it through the head, stating that they don't need it alive, only its blood.
Elsewhere, Jess berates Cindy for destroying two teleporters in a single day. Gwen tries to break up the argument, but Verna, Brix, and Bora attack with multiple Green Goblins.
On Earth-3145, Mayday snaps at Peter to leave Uncle Ben, who refuses to suit up, behind. Despite Ben dejectedly remarking that Mayday is right, Peter reminds him that "with great power must also come great responsibility", revealing that he kept the costume and stating that his Uncle Ben made all the difference. Otto angrily snaps at Ben to toughen up, stating that he lost more times than he won but that didn't keep him from fighting. Otto's rant inspires Ben to put the costume on one last time, and the Spider-Army sets off for the final battle.

Stood In The Gap
“…Jesus said to the chief priests, temple officers, and elders who had come for Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against an outlaw? Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on Me. But this hour belongs to you and to the power of darkness.” Luke 22:52-53NIV
There are times that belong to satan. We can pray, trusting faith scriptures, quote God’s Word until we are blue in the face… that is the hour of satan. One such time was when they crucified our Lord Jesus, Yeshua Hamashiach. Another time is coming— the final hour of satan, the time of antichrist, and his tribulation.
Until that time we must be ‘the ones who restrains’… “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way” 2Thessalonians 2:7ESV. I’m quite aware many preachers teach Holy Spirit is the one who restrains. My question to them has always been and continues to be, where is the scripture which predicts Holy Spirit is leaving? Each preacher has then pointed back to this scripture. Problem with their explanation returns to the actual language translations— a ‘masculine-feminine’ or ‘human gender nonspecific,’ male or female. Nothing like Holy Spirit Who is Spirit and part of the triune Godhead.
During the time of Nazi Germany, Hitler was considered to be the antichrist. The church thought we were at the end of the age, thus they wouldn’t pray away the events. Except for a few intercessors such as Bonhoeffer, or Reese Howell, a man from Wales UK, who led a group of intercessors, who literally stood between Hitler’s goals and the world. Yes, there were other nameless intercessors who stood in the gap… “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before Me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it… Ezekiel 22:30NIV. God will always look for His person who will pray and intercede on behalf of their nation.
Today, we have such people interceding for our land. Cindy Jacobs and Dutch Sheets being two leaders in this movement. Assuredly, there are thousands more praying as well. I know a little woman from South Africa, whom God has frequently provided the funds to come to the USA to pray. Jesse has been to every border crossing in this nation, both borders, anointing it with oil, while bathing it in prayer. She also goes bi-annually to Israel instructed to walk the streets and pray there.
Has anyone beside me ever wondered what the following scripture means? “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father” John 14:12NLT. What are the greater works than what Jesus could people do?
As I read our text, Holy Spirit dropped into my spirit— ‘Jesus couldn’t prevent the hour belonging to satan. We can. Reese Howell, Bonhoeffer and the other intercessors prevented Hitler from taking over the world, as the antichrist.
The cabal, elites, and globalists all believe this is their hour to rule our world. They’ve been busy putting their one world government into place, painstakingly so, over the last seventy plus years. News flash: God has His elect praying, interceding, repenting for this world because it’s not satan’s hour yet. Will you join the intercessors in praying away the darkness’s hour? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: LORD God we pray for Your kingdom alone to come, and Your will only to be done in our nations and our world. You alone God love us and are trustworthy. Help us to trust in You alone, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I’m getting pissed cause I left my tablet at home for drawing and I have this idea in my head but I am gonna write out some world building for my Spidersona that has been in my head forever:
(had to put it under a cut cause it’s looooong)
Most of my world building is based off of a lot of the Akan-Ashanti stories I had grown up hearing when I was young about Anansi. I always loved hearing them, and like as I’ve grown have always kinda looked more into the stories. In some, he was presented as a sort of god or even a folk hero, given reign over all the stories in the world by the sky-father, bringing certain knowledge and common sense to humans. In others, he’s a trickster who in his ventures has found ways to get the things he wanted in selfish endeavors, but at cost to himself, his family, and/or humanity itself. It always depended on who was telling the story, but that’s okay, because Anansi likes a good story. They all belong to him, after all.
And in regards to Spider-Man lore, I like the character of Ezekiel Sims, but always find it…icky that this ⚪️ man went to a temple dedicated to Anansi in Ghana and was able to ritualistically draw from his power to gain similar powers to most other Spider totems. I like the concept of it, but not that it was given to a ⚪️ person, end of day. But I for sure would’ve been at odds with it if Ezekiel WAS black, for the simple fact that he would, in essence, become the “Magical Negro” archetype in his (kinda sorta) mentorship role of Peter and Cindy.
In my Spidersona’s universe, he is black, for sure. There is still a ritual, though that comes far later in this tale:
He was once known only as Kwaku Anansi, and he got his powers long ago. At a cost, of course. One he paid to the sky-father—his father—Nyame, playing many a trick in order to gather what it was he asked for. No one else had ever been ever to truly pay the price, not even the grandest of kingdoms, so Nyame was impressed. Because of this great feat he had pulled off with his cunning, Nyame gave Anansi all the stories of the world, every tale being his. Every story woven, all belonged to him in his Great Web.
At some point, though, he wanted more. Not just the stories, but all the knowledge, as well. He went across the great continent, gathering it all into a pot which he would cocoon in his web, keep it all for himself. Even put a little of his power into it. This is where Anansi’s selfishness comes into play. And this is where he would fall to his own foolishness, too, as when he went to take the pot up to his web, he found trouble in keeping it in hand. His son, Ntikuma, tried to help his father, telling him to tie it to his back to carry it up, but Anansi swore he could do it. Ntikuma even noted that the pot was much too big for Anansi to carry on his own, too much of a burden. He became frustrated with his failure, and with his youngest pointing it out. In his aggravation, he lost his grip on the pot, and it shattered! And before he could collect them from the ground, it is said a great storm washed them all away, now a little of that wisdom residing through the people of the world—but so was a little of his power.
There were many a century he put no thought to it. Was content. But there was a point in the 11th century, he became concerned with the type of hands his powers fell into the hands of those of the Templars and the Hospitallers. Those connected to the Catholic Church, the military vicariate, who had splintered off in worship of what they called “Spider-Totems”, worshipping those more naturally attuned who have accessed his powers. A society created in “his name, his image” He still stayed his hand, simply curious if the stories this would bring him.
It was only when the Portuguese touched down on the shores of his home, with some of those vicar militia in their ranks. Those who turned his powers onto his own people, ripping them away from their homes, their families, to smuggle them off to a land filled with strangers. Some not even seeing the journey through, bodies thrown into the depths below. It infuriated him, his power used to help enact these horrors, and against his own people.
Anansi decided he wanted that power back.
But to recollect it would take some effort. The world was soon entering an age of wonder, an age of marvels. More and more with great powers themselves, and the gods now intermingled more than they once did, now, rules began to be set forth that they had to follow. And there were new players on the board, those that looked to siphon from his totems, and those that sought to corrupt and possess it.
But Anansi still had his cunning. And much time to wait and plan.
He had thought of the ways in which he could physically intervene. He found interest in the way Odin made constructs for those under his rule, particularly that he made for his son, Thor, though too many stipulations. He also viewed the methods of the Ennead choosing their champions, their avatars. But still, not enough control for his liking, for what he had in mind.
After much study of how others choose to intervene with the mortal world, he’d come up with an idea, to place an aspect of himself within one of the temples dedicated to him within his homeland —one of the few places the gods were still allowed to freely set foot in on the mortal plane—dormant in this place sacred to him, to only be accessed by one he’d see fit enough to move his plans forward.
It took more time for the right one to come along, more waiting and patience, til a young man from the states had come along—a descendent of his own people, of those who had spread his stories in the Americas, who had brought their worship with them—one who had taken an opportunity to set foot upon the soils of his people once more. One that was brought along by an individual in search of his temple, some form of mission work he was on, to bring word of the “true God” and bring his worship to the heedless while dowsing that of any others. False Gods, this person claimed. It amused Anansi, to say the least, of this settler’s mindset. Though his attention stayed with that of the aforementioned young man, the one whose cunning assisted him in finding his temple.
It was easy enough to dispose of the actual missionary as soon as they had entered. Easy enough to seal the young man who held his interest in. Just for a moment. Just so he could cocoon him in his web, as it were. So he could prime his body for use. So simple to empty out this body and slip in himself. Like putting on a new suit, really. He liked it. Liked the stories it came with, and the potential for more. Even the name that came with it.
Ezekiel…Sims…
He thinks he’ll keep it, use it for his own energy once in a while, for the work he had to get done. He’d use many in the years to come, and variations upon. Using his cunning and his trickery to garner connections, to slip into the necessary places. Even into that little society, even coming to give them cover under a shell company he’d founded—WebCorps, nice little bit of wordplay—so to be able to keep find those more easily who channeled his power. Keeping close watch on them, even finding interest in the progress of a few. And hiring some of these modern marvels to assist him—to test them. Find out if they were truly worthy of his power.
If they were worth being called ‘spiders’ themselves…
Like it’s a lot tbh, and it draws on a lot of lore from actual Akan folklore, as well as how Anansi has been depicted already in the comics, and of course would like play on bits from Ezekiel’s whole deal, but you guys get the idea.

...And the Curse of Cindy
I think we can start by saying that none of us believe that Ezekiel was in love with Cindy. That was preposterous and there was no reason for that to be the reason he wasn’t madly in love with her after a love potion.
“We really need to find wider door!” Yes Ezekiel, agreed. Ah yes, Flynn immediately complaining about Ezekiel’s use of time. Cassandra handing the flower back and Ezekiel keeps it is very big brother behavior. Ezekiel complaining that it’s not a selfie, sweetheart there are more important issues at hand. Flynn immediately falling under the spell is peak Flynn.
Ezekiel being unable to identify why he recognizes her. We have all be there! I just feel like watching the same video of yourself over and over is not good for you. “This could get irritating.” That’s going to be your feelings this whole mission. Jake telling Ezekiel to go as though he could actually do any better. Then the smirk. It’s too bad they get caught.
It is incredibly funny that Ezekiel starts knicking stuff as they wait in Cindy’s room. Jacob Stone telling Ezekiel Jones to stay strong, calling him a beta; boy you have no idea what you’re talking about. “Stay strong.” Jake says before he falls under her spell. Ezekiel just appalled and confused. Ezekiel trying to just say he also fell under her spell and then just asks where he knows her from. Our boy is getting all of the information right now. Ezekiel ready to start beating people down for giving up The Library. He should have.
I’m dying! Eve: Fine, you two stay here. She likes Ezekiel better anyway. And then they DO care and believe her. Why? Why are you more concerned about Ezekiel than literally anything else that has been happening?!?
Ezekiel having his priorities straight by filming Jake and Flynn as they go on and on about Cindy. He’s having so much fun with that. Hold on. Mr. Jenkins actually bringing up that Ezekiel was with Jake the whole time and he was unaffected and our boy admitted “she’s not my type.” Jenkins being cryptic again. Eve just getting all up in Ezekiel’s personal space as she smells him and he just agrees that it’s weird but lets her do it.
Kind of like a wild pack of Beliebers. I have no idea what that means. That was a very cute interaction. Then that whole exchange about Jones being obsessed with himself (first of all he looked very fond when he said that). That’s just factually untrue and it’s kind of annoying that that is what he picks and the others all believe. “No! Jenkins I’m immune! I don’t need any of your funky junk remember!” ‘Yes. I remember.” He looked like he was so fondly amused right as he said that. Jenkins, you’re not fooling us. It’s okay to actually like Ezekiel.
It’s really comical that no one has removed Flynn’s gloves. He’s stuck with the yellow rubber gloves until he wakes back up as himself. And then Jenkins makes Stone and Flynn fall in love with each other. Which I think Ezekiel would have found endlessly entertaining.
I love that Ezekiel breaks into the room and just watches to see what’s going on. Eve and Cassandra just falling for the witch without even really questioning it. Girls, you just walked right into that. And then he breaks out of his cover because he realized where he recognized her from. “Because I already love, trust, and believe in someone so much I could never be swayed. And that person, is me.” “I don’t need other people to make me believe in myself to validate me” Ezekiel out here telling us all that you can love yourself and believe in yourself and anything is possible.
And then he tried to convince her that her plan doesn’t make any sense. Working to get her to see how her ‘plan’ didn’t make any sense and wasn’t really a plan at all. And here we get our first insight into the backstory of Ezekiel Jones. In the 3rd season in the 7th episode...”I am just like you. I grew up dirt poor. We had nothing. Other kids laughed at me because of what I wore and where I lived. So I decided one day that if this world isn’t going to give me what I wanted, I would take it. So I became a thief. And not just any thief, I became the greatest thief that ever lived. And you know what? No matter how much I stole, I always needed to steal more. When you allow a hole in your heart to grow that big? It can never be filled.” Man if he didn’t break all of our hearts right there.
She really was convinced that those people all loved her and our boy had to set her straight. I’m absolutely sure that Ezekiel was thinking back to the rage people, and the werewolves when those people went crazy. But then he gets back in there and saves her. He wasn’t about to let her be trapped in that. “Magic corrupts.” He was speaking as a true Librarian at that moment.
Everyone freaking out, Cassandra runs for the controls, Ezekiel follows “eeny meeny miney..” “Moe!” Colonel Baird saving the day!! Mama Baird couldn’t let her baby bird be flying in the dark. Ezekiel grabbing Cindy and pulling her out of the way. Jenkins showing up with a spray gun and hosing everyone down. He for sure enjoyed that. And of course the witch was possessed by Apep. Zeke, buddy, you don’t have to keep holding her up. It’s very chivalrous of you though.
I can understand if Cindy fell in love with Ezekiel. Asking how he filled the hole in his heart, “it’s not about who, or how many people love you. It’s about who you love. I finally found the right ones worthy of mine.” He’s so freaking cute!!! You just admitted you like the people you work with baby. And then he gets all tongue tied. Cindy, girl, he was not expecting that. then they’re all in the Annex laughing at Flynn and Stone. Jenkins and Cassandra are very sweet. I don’t ship them. But they are very sweet. Freaking Jacob Stone. Why would you think that Ezekiel was in love with someone he never met before? You two have healthy egos too, no, you were full of yourselves, he loves himself. He’s not fake, he doesn’t pretend to be anyone else. He just is who he is.
Him getting ahold of some of the love potion is very curious. I do wonder why he took it. And then we see that DOSA has no clue what they’re doing. Naturally.
