i’ve never mentioned it before but cindy doesn’t spend thanksgiving with her family—she spends her thanksgiving day volunteering at the domestic violence shelter. nari doesn’t get mad. it’s not like she’s ignoring her family. but she does send a heaping plate home for cindy.

and like every overbearing (but well meaning) mother, there’s plenty of food on the plate for leftovers (or gwen)

I'm so glad they chose Cindy Moon! I was thinking if they introduced other female Spider themed heroes, it would have probably been Jessica or Gwen. So glad they went with her

Yeah! I think Gwen would've been the obvious choice for a lot of people, but if you think about it, they'd have to lay a lot more groundwork. Same with Jess, seeing as she's been long established before Miles in the comics but in the ps4 game there are no heroes past Peter and Miles -- whoever is introduced comes after Miles. Though one could have her as a P.I. operating on the downlow, I guess? Another speculation for another ask.

Cindy is more easily explained by the bunker-fact (though we'll see if Insomniac keeps that) without the need of dimension-traveling along with being a relatively newer character (Miles first appeared in 2011 and Cindy in 2014). She is the logical choice, if you want a known character with a built-in fanbase but not someone too-popular to retool and introduce to the public consciousness. She's directly connected to Peter and has a lot of clear themes that can be translated to a new context. Her dynamic with Jonah... -- well, I don't know if we're getting that since he's a conspiracy theorist parody in the game -- but the running bit of him liking Silk over Spider-Man will never be not funny.

Adding Gwen+the multiverse stuff to the game would've been a bad move, seeing as we already have a piece of spidey-media that's popular with the general public already doing that. If we count No Way Home, we have two. The multiverse fatigue/trend wouldn't help at all nor make them stand out. Spiderverse and Insomniac already have their respective niches stemming from the original source material and it's best to stay in their lanes. Cindy is a good choice! She's relatively well-known among comic fans with consistent minis, she has a sick suit and an interesting story, and she deals with the hero biz a lot differently from the other two. There's a lot to build from that alone.

Plus a prior history with Felicia in the comics, so how will they incorporate that?

If the mcu ever decides to re-introduce Spider-Man I fucking hope it’s the Silk/Cindy Moon plot line

Cause it’d make the most sense to have new/mostly new characters since the old ones don’t remember him and there’s so much potential there for him to hear about her ‘imprisonment’ and decide that’s the reason he’s finally going to actually interact with someone from his past (even if Cindy doesn’t remember)

oh! haven���t thought about it but cindy was living alone in her first ongoing and after she found her family bobbi offered them a place to live right? so, i think cindy still kept her own but albert had to live with them. and, after some time albert felt comfortable enough to live on his own but i think cindy offered to be roomies saying it’s more affordable and she doesn’t really have time to cook and all that. but really it’s about cindy still caring for albert, still worried if he’d fall back to bad habits. and like a small part of albert would’ve sensed that but let her anyways because they’re still making up for lost time.
