FAN-MADE CINDERELLA BOY PLAYLISTS AHHH

So a group of us fast passers have been working for the last several weeks (I only joined a couple weeks ago) to make some themed playlists for Cinderella Boy! We collectively built not 1, not 2, but 6 youtube playlists!! Like a cool little surprised for Punko as celebration for the finale. They are linked below along with little descriptions of them.

Color Theory in Cinderella Boy

There’s some silly stuff happening with colors, and in this probably brainrot post, I will be using my art brain to over analyze the heck outta this (for those who are interested, though I find it fascinating!)

**This post includes a scene from todays new ep (53), so make sure you read that first!**

So, I first stumbled upon this discovery sorta by accident. I use Clip Studio Paint for my artwork, and I often end up with an average to 30-50 layers per drawing, and thankfully Clip Studio has an option to color-code your layers to make things more manageable.

For my CB drawings, I defaulted to using green for Chase, purple for Buddy, and blue for Deacon. It made sense to me, because of the casts ‘default’ outfits feature these colors:

What I noticed though, was that these aren’t the only colors they are seen in, and in fact, out of all the other colors, two in particular stand out

Specifically, pink for Chase, and orange for Deacon

Something to note is that these colors are nearly perfect complementary colors to each other. Even Prunella seems to have this theme, with her red hair and green shirt.

Now, it is generally good for character design for outfits to have good complementary colors to make them stand out, but me thinks that Punko went even further with this.

The thing is, Buddy really only has purple in his color scheme (unless out count every shade of gray and black).

We see him in some other colors, but mainly it’s purple:

Like, a lot of purple.

(Other examples include Toffee Break, Beach boys, Sick Day, etc)

Pretty much all but two of Buddy’s ten outfits have included some element of purple.

But then again, up until recently, he’s only been a villain. A foil to Chase. The black and purple suited him, for a while, because he was only ‘evil’. (This also leads me to believe that future Ex Libris members will also wear black in their outfits to fit on theme. In Dreams by Day, a presumably Ex Libris worker is wearing a black shirt).

But now? It’s Buddy’s story too. He is becoming a protagonist. And that means getting a new color, possibly one that compliments purple.

And what color flowers bloomed when Chase saved him?

Yellow.

This is leading me to believe that Buddy will have a major character shift at the end of season 1 / beginning of season 2, where yellow is included in his outfit colors. And maybe, S2 will feature Buddy’s story more as he becomes a protagonist ‘,:3

TL;DR: Colors are important to CB characters, and Buddy is gonna be a protagonist soon.

I’ve actually been forming this theory of mine since like, the beginning of October, and the amount of serotonin that filled my brain when I saw those flowers, and seeing that my theories may be true could literally flood a city.

I have an ideal Season 4 of Bridgerton in mind.

I don't think I'm gonna get it. But I'll share the deets anyways.

Sophie needs to become an homage to Twelfth Night in addition to Cinderella to not waste Ben's "oh hey, I'm not fully hetero" plot build.

If we take this route, it will add a solid richness to the plot:

Benedict meets Sophie as the Lady in Silver.

Great big Cinderella go poof act.

Benedict saves Sophie while she is dressed and acting as a man. Who knows what from. Don't care, really.

Benedict hires Sophie while being attracted to her persona as a man, but never once clocking her Lady in Silver beyond a "huh, that's weird but impossible".

Benedict is still going to flirt with Sophie in any form. We know this.

There would be mutual lusting, duh. With forbidden flavoring naturally.

Then instead of "become my mistress because you are too lowborn" we get "be my lover because society will not accept us". Much better. Ick gone.

First sex scene would be hilarious if Benedict was being oblivious (like all Bridgy boys) and got surprised by boobs. Admit it.

There would still be scandal to dodge in the end but it might be more thrilling than the book's resolution because the risk is higher to pose as a man than a serving maid.

Additional asks:

1. Artist Benedict needs to be revived. Maybe he tries to draw and paint his Lady in Silver after her disappearance?

2. Polin needs to face any issues together and not be at odds. Seriously, they make a great comedy duo. And they were in so much conflict their season.

3. Eloise needs to start corresponding with Phillip. Maybe after Marina passes off screen, but it needs to start asap for her season to go smoothly.

4. I think that Francecsa is going to have to have John's baby and it will have to be a boy. This will keep the earldom in play. If John passes with no heir and Michaela doesn't marry? It falls out of the family. For this to work, there has to be a Francesca and John son.

So first off…we got a Stargoth kiss!!! And the story has a happy ending, awwwww. But then it gets fucking crazy. Because Buddy’s name is actually Nox, and he’s a key? But he used to be human??? My jaw was on the floor for that part. Season 2 can not come quick enough want the fuck

As a Cinderella Boy reader and fast-passer Idk where else to put this but I have THOUGHTS okay. Fast-pass episode 58 spoilers below the cut (obviously)

OKAY SO, “STILL WATERS PT.2” WAS PAINFUL, but I have thoughts. Not great thoughts cuz season finale be upon thee, but thoughts that need out! Chase has mentioned several times in previous chapters that he dislikes boats. Deacon laughs it off and says it’s just cuz he gets seasick, but he didn’t seem so seasick on the little ferry that rode calmly on a quaint lake.

Chase ALSO didn’t want to do the book where their ship wrecks and he and Deacon would get stranded on an island until Deacon said they’d use the bookmark trick and just chill on the beach.

He claims he doesn’t like water when Buddy tossed him in the ocean as revenge for a beach ball to the face (LOL) but he didn’t mind it all that much because it was shallow water. He DID NOT want to go in Deacon’s Ship books because storms are in the name and the water would likely be rough and deep and dangerous.

Now water is seeping in from everywhere and filling up the book and Chase is panicking about being stuck in a book with sudden rising water.

Do you see where I’m going here???

Predictions for Buddy's Real Name

Hello Cinderella Boy enjoyers, how are we doing? Sobbing? Suffering? I can only imagine what emotional turmoil the fast passers may be experiencing right now. Well, to get our minds off of the impending Season One finale, I've decided to try and predict what Buddy's "real" name is.

(PS. You don't have to take this too seriously; I just needed some way to cope after the penultimate episode.)

(P.P.S This post is a pretty long read, so just stay with me on this, or continue on with your scrolling :))

First, I took some observations as to how Punko names her protagonists and compiled the following notes:

Punko has yet to name a main character anything starting with a vowel.

Punko's MCs have had names starting with either a stop/plosive or a fricative.

All of these names have had English, Latin, or Greek origins.

I also am taking the following assumptions into consideration when sifting through potential names:

I'm going to assume Punko will keep in line with all previous observations.

I believe Punko takes a bit of consideration of the meaning behind her characters. Deacon is the most obvious example, because he's like a friend and whatever and second in command to Chase. Prunella means "little plum", and yeah, I can see that. She is smol, and her temperament is... tart like a plum? But also sweet, like a plum? (I've never had a plum, I'm assuming this is what they're like).

I think her name choices skew towards a slightly older generation. Chase being an exception, but with names like "Frankie" and "Prunella" more commonly being given to children in the Victorian Era, apparently. Either way, I'll focus on slightly older names, like 90's and back probably.

I will be keeping a heavy focus on names that begin with the letter 'B' because the title of the series is "Cinderella" (Chase) "Boy" (Buddy/B-alternate name) and I personally think that would be cool.

Last thing is I'm gonna add names of Greek and French origin to the roster because I feel insane. My sources for searching mainly boil down to behindthename.com and the 2012 edition of this baby name book of 100,000+ baby names. That being said:

List of Potential Buddy Names

1. Beau

This is my personal favorite, which is why I'm listing it first, but I do have a few valid reasons for adding it here.

It means "handsome" in French

It plays into the "storybook/romance" angle of the series

Begins with the letter 'B'

Has been a relatively popular name since the 70s

2. Theodore

Kind of a weird 2nd pick, maybe, but hear me out.

Comes from Greek meaning "gift of God"

Could reflect that one theory that Buddy is not actually a human, but rather some creation that Ex Libris made

Was popular in 1915 and 2025, which is kind of silly

3. Vincent

Sounds regal enough, lol

Latin origin

Means "to conquor", so maybe he's gotta win something (like his freedom??)

peaked in the mid-60s and 90s

4. Connor

I have a friend named this, so it'd be really funny on Punko's part to name Buddy this

has like two roots meaning "desire" and "wolf"

he desires freedom, and is treated like a dog (they give him ZERO chocolate in Ex Libris)

of Irish origin, but idk, I still like it

5. Hunter

Okay this one has a single thing in it's favor criteria-wise (is of English origin), but this would be very cool considering Chase's name. Chase? and Hunter? Chase the Hunter? Hunt the Chase? Absolute power couple stuff here. Ship name could but C**ter---nevermind that censoring is actually worse

(maybe? comment down what the appropriate ship name for two characters names "Chase" and "Hunter"in case this is actually this poor man's name)

6. Victor

Some goober in the Webtoon comments section, like a year ago claims that Punko said this was gonna be Buddy's name in a Twitch stream, so maybe dawg?

Latin origin; also has to do with winning and victory of his rights or smthn

within the top 250 of baby names for Americans

V sounds like B when you think about it

7. Grayson

Will Grayson, Will Grayson? More like Will Gayson, Will Gayson. /j

means "son of the grey-haired one"

like the "old man" in ex libris???

means "venerable", like "honored" and "worthy of respect"; i guess he needs some of those

who am I to assume punko created Buddy with a "real name" to be discovered in the first place?

would play into that neglected/dehumanized lighting that he probably experiences in ex libris

would be an *incredibly* emotional scene if Chase asks for Buddy's name in some display of trust or frustration and Buddy has to confess that he's never had one

And yeah, those are all the options I'd be willing to place money on. However, I do have more names compiled from Webtoon's comments, my friends' suggestions and some wild guesses that I am placing below for funsies, with my favorites highlighted:

-benjamin -brayden -oliver -devin -caspian (has already been used in reference to a hot vampire guy from a franchise already; is this foreshadowing or means the name is off the table?) -jordan -kieran would be silly because of my OC :) -owen is another silly choice because of my OC :)) -whitney?? -did punko already name a character charlie? -someone in chat suggested jasper (also didn't get very popular until after 2000s) -"quinctilius asparagus" -beverly? -payton? - bobbie would be the worst way of doing this to me punko - ryder?? - blaine? maybe? - brennan? - casey? - cole - percival/percy sounds cool (historically older name; has literature background with being one of the round knights; just doesn't have a hard meaning i can pin to his character, unless we're deriving it from the knight percy, in which case uhhhhhhhhhh) - trystan would be a personal act against me - garreth (actually not bad with historically coming from the knights of the round table, but idk he seems too cool to have a dumb name like gareth) - "david" (he ain't "beloved" enough by anyone for that) - penguin - not penguin - ryan (suggested by ryan) - edward/eric/eli - demian - nigel - Rumpelstilksin - Aiden - Virgil - "Goth Twink" - Manuel - Two

2024 Writing Roundup!

So in retrospect this is a WILD thing to post on NYE, but thank you to @miladydewintcr for tagging me by proxy! I can't take full credit for a lot of these words, as I cowrite all my Dragon Age fic with @adainesjacket, so this is kind of a collective wordcount for both of us...

highest hit oneshot: I have not really gone in for oneshots this year, so the season of possible miracles wins this category by default with 206 hits - my Dimension 20 Exchange gift for @justiceforprincecorrick. It ended up running a little later than I wanted it to, but I reread it as preparation for this year's exchange, and I think it holds up as a cute, winter-themed Cinderella AU for Binx and Andhera from Dimension 20's A Court of Fae and Flowers.

fic I spent the most time on: The Kick Inside, or my Dragon Age Origins Rapunzel AU, as it was originally titled in my heart, has been a labour of love since August, and I've finally started posting it weekly. Please give it a read if you enjoy Dragon Age at all - it's an alternate universe where a pregnant Warden recruit provides Morrigan with an alternative to the Dark Ritual, and the ripples this causes in the world.

fic I spent the least time on: merry solstice (please don't call), cowritten with my beautiful wife @adainesjacket, at least proportionally - the Dragon Age 2 Justice/Anders/Hawke Christmas RomCom AU that nobody asked for but people have been very kind about! We wrote this in a single month and it came out so perfect that I just want to write it all over again.

favorite thing I wrote: The Kick Inside is still my beautiful, terrible baby and I am actively afraid of not finishing it because it's been eating my brain for five months.

favorite thing(s) I read:

Top of the list has got to be the His Delicious Materials series by @elodieunderglass, the best Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon fics and possibly the best fics I've ever read. I squeak audibly whenever they update, and read them aloud whenever given the opportunity. The narrative voices range from Tamsyn Muir (Nona the Ninth) to Terry Pratchett, and they are truly a joy to read if you enjoy fantasy worldbuilding, Daemon AUs, or simply to feel Joy and Hope in this Cruel, Dark World.

I've also really enjoyed Something Lonesome and Wild, by passing_lives, a BG3 fic my wife recommended when I started writing The Kick Inside that's provided a key inspiration in terms of the hazards of Adventuring While Pregnant. This is an Astarion/Gale fic and it managed to charm me despite not particularly vibing with either of the boys when I started playing, so now, in my heart, this fic is happening in the background of my playthrough while my disaster of a Dark Urge commits atrocities. Beautifully written and incredibly compelling, give it a look!

Finally, in terms of Dragon Age fic, I haven't played Veilguard so I have to be careful about what I read, but I've been slowly making my way through:

Will-O'-The-Wisp, by lovenug, an Emmrich/Rook fic from Mannfred's perspective (perfect, as I love a non-human narrator)

where the heart is by ghostbunny and PhantomsLost, a truly delightful Hawke/Anders Stardew Valley AU, which I did not realise I needed until I started reading it this Christmas

writing goals for 2025: Finishing The Kick Inside! Also, ideally, finishing that Ketterdam Wedding Sequel and Daughter Phoenix Rise (a Dragon Age 2/Inquisition take I don't think anyone has done before...)

I think my 8yr is single handidly garenteeing us a season 2. Every night he reads for half an hour and he's been insisting on rereading Cinderella Boy every night for the last two months. 😂

I've got a new theory and I'm claiming it now before it's too late,

So I was thinking about buddy and his connection to ex Libris and I had a thought that what if buddy's grandfather is the current leader of ex libris and that's why buddy is and has a connection with ex libris, either that or maybe his family had always been apart or connected with ex libris so he was born and raised in that environment. I was also thinking about the dreams by night chapter and what we sore buddy like in that chapter it makes me think that maybe he is some kind of lab rat maybe one that the ex libris uses to test keys on to make sure they work and do there job properly explainimg why he has a good bond with violent to what we we can tell at least and to make sure that any new ability or technology they discover works also. But this also raises the question that if he is a lab rat is he the only one? Or are there more? Will we meet someone new on buddy's "team" in a later chapter or maybe even in season 2 and what would happen if ex libris gets involved directly. We can never be sure until it happens but it won't stop us from making theories and the questions that come along with and if somehow my theory is correct I wonder how it would play out what would happen then? So many questions and not many answers but I suppose that's what's to come with theories like this huh

Frank Wolff (Jungle Cruise) x Jack Sparrow (TPOTC) (SparrowWolf/WolfSparrow): I don't really ship characters from live-action movies and shows, but Disney Mirrorverse got me to ship these two goofballs.

My sibling and I thought of a hilarious sub-plot for Season 2/possible main plot for future seasons of Hazbin Hotel:

First and foremost, it would require the introduction of Archangel Michael, voiced by the one and only Andrew Rannells. We just wanted him to be a part of the cast, but introducing Michael would be really interesting for a few reasons.

For starters, we know there will be discussions between Lucifer and Heaven. 1) He intervened in the Extermination(even though a Hellborn was harmed and Heaven broke their end of the deal). Heaven won't just let that go, especially since Adam is dead(now a sinner???) 2) Pentious was redeemed, so if Lucifer and/or Charlie find our, that would mean they have a LOT more conversations with Heaven.

Let's say druing one of these conversations Lucifer is at his whits end with Sera and the rest of the Heavenly Council. Maybe he makes a demand to bring the Big-Boss-Man into this. Well, you see, God doesn't get involved much unless it's really a big deal, so who better to send in his place than his Gold-Star Son, Michael???

(For the sake of this post, let's run with the idea that Lucifer and Michael are genuinely brothers. Just for the fun of it, we could even say that they're twins and neither can agree on who was "born" first)

And ohhhhh, how Lucifer immediately regrets it, not because Michael is necessarily a threat to Lucifer. No, no, no, Michael is essentially harmless right now. But Michael is Lucifer's "perfect" brother. The golden boy who stood by their father's side while his wayward brother Fell.

And boy, is Michael very well aware of the fact that he's the favorite. Lucifer mostly can't stand him because he's rather smug and entitled. He also 100% refers to himself in the 3rd Person and it makes Lucifer's eye twitch.

Michael isn't really an antagonist, more so an obstacle similar to Sera. He's like a weird mix of Adam and Sera. He's not vulgar like Adam, but he's not exactly the epitome of Heavenly Grace like Sera. Think of the most stereotypical entitled Cinderella step-sister or Sharpay Evans from High School Musical.

Michael has power, that goes unsaid. He's an archangel, of course he has power. However, when he initially defeated Lucifer, it was with the help of God. By all technicalities, Lucifer and Michael are on the same grounds for power. Maybe in the future, if we get an all out war with Heaven, it could come down to a fight between brothers/families. Lucifer might taunt Michael similarly to how he taunted Adam, but Michael is also one of the warriors of Heaven, stronger than everyone except God. This would be a fair fight between the two.

And imagine Charlie trying to process the fact that she has family in Heaven, but they had no interest in even thinking about her. Charlie's ideas of Heaven have already been tainted and she's aware of how Heaven hurt Lucifer, but to really process it and feel it first hand when Michael dismisses her like they aren't direct family? It could help drastically change Charlie's outlook on redeeming sinners into Heaven. Maybe it could push her to have a more radical opinion on Heaven and how it functions. That doesn't even take into account how she'll feel when she finds out where Lilith has been while Hell suffers Extermination after Extermination.

But all angst aside, can we just take a minute to imagine how hilarious it would be to watch Jeremy Jordan and Andrew Rannells banter on screen? It was great to watch Lucifer and Alastor play verbal badminton, but Lucifer and Michael?? Hell, maybe Lucifer and Alastor might finally agree on something and it would be their mutual disliking of Michael.

I also think it'd be really funny for Michael to call Lucifer "Lucy", but in a really condescending way that had Lucifer ready to launch into the most epic Sibling Cat Fight of all time. I also personal think Michael refuses to use forks because a certain Fallen Angel spent at least 200 years antagonizing his dearest brother with one.

This post started as "silly haha, Jeremy and Andrew being silly" and then I got distracted.

The big take away is that I really want Andrew to make an appearance in the show in the future and I think him doing that through Archangel Michael would be brilliant.
