Cinderella Boy's Writing is AMAZING

The way Punko manages to subvert tropes and expectations is actually INCREDIBLE. It's one of my favorite things about CB; each week, we get a glimpse into what the next arc holds, and despite the theorizing and jokes, we end up blissfully surprised every single time.

Chase is super sick and you THINK that's going to be the big focus of the arc but no, actually, it's the reveal of Buddy knowing Chase's name and it's Buddy petting Chase's hair and it's Buddy chewing out Deacon.

Prunella gets a key and you THINK she's going to be a regular addition the way Deacon was, but no, actually, it's a new point of tension and suspense because nobody knows how Buddy's going to take it or how dangerous it is for her, but everyone knows it isn't going to end well.

My personal favorite: Everyone being so excited for Chase's reaction to vampire Buddy and Chase fully walking past the guy several times. That's peak cinema guys. It's been weeks and I'm still stuck on how brilliant and hilarious that was.

Anyway, it's part of why I get so excited for each update. There's always *some* twist, regardless of how big or plot-critical, that gets me excited to see the idiots in action.
