Yeah, I agree with @clara-oswinoswald. There are definitely some Emma vibes with matchmaker Kitty.
Though I think Yuri is Frank Churchhill—pretending to like Dae but meeting with a frustrated Juliana (aka Jane Fairfax) in secret until they can finally openly be together. But also inciting romantic feelings in Kitty that are not returned (yet?).
Q is Mrs. Weston—Kitty’s closeted confidante and advisor on love and in a committed relationship with Florian (aka Mr. Weston).
Dae is Harriet—Kitty’s best friend/boyfriend, who is financially unstable and therefore at the whims of others to maintain his position and whose friends applaud his social climbing to be with his new rich girlfriend, Yuri.
Minho is Mr. Knightley—a brutally honest, loyal friend with no thoughts of settling down into a real relationship until he sees Kitty up close with her suitor who has failed her and wants better for her but doesn’t think he has a chance because she still loves the suitor.
If subsequent seasons follow the general Emma storyline: Yuri will like Kitty back and have a flirtation with her but ultimately realize she loves Juliana more; Kitty will continue to be friends with Minho while she navigates her love life and eventually realize he’s the one she can’t live without; and Dae will learn to stand up for himself and find a wonderful new girlfriend.

The Magic Kingdom of Love and Weeping!
The Magic Kingdom of Weeping and Love!
"Which commandment is first of all?. . ."you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29.
.Through the years reading books on St. Francis, one is taken by his weeping daily. People would question him daily about weeping worrying about him.
I cry a lot, and throughout Lent and Easter and now  I weep more than ever,  but have learned my weeping, like that of Francis is different from a method of fixing.
I have let go of my mode of fixing, and am growing in the mode of letting go, of seeking to understand, and simply forgiving and see every person as a broken body of Jesus.
I understand why Francis wept so much. When we go to the place of tears it is an inner attitude where when I can't fix it, when I can't explain it, when I can't control it, when I can't even understand it. I learn I can only forgive it. Let go of it, weep over it.
It is a different mode of being. To forgive the man who murders one's son, all the criticism and hate thrown our way, the young men who have beaten you up, that is freeing, and worth weeping for! Weeping frees us!
This is the year of the Water Rabbit in the Chinese Lunar New Year, a year of hope, a time to slow down and strive for balance. A symbol of peace. And it is my time to strive for balance, to slow down, and be peaceful.
Lent, with four deaths, so much pain on the street, and an ordination literally wore me out. I have been at home accept for two days the last two weeks, and on the ocean in Pacifica resting, praying constantly, and simply just being and weeping.
One night, watching the Pacific Ocean through my motel window I fell a sleep and found myself surrounded by so many people I have known  through the years, those who hate me, those who do not give a damn, and those who love me. Suddenly there was love all around me, with every one smiling.
I knew in those moments like the Water Rabbit I  move deliberately and slowly in my ministry, and all is well. St. Therese of Lisieux tells us to do the"little things," and
Winston Churchhill, "We make a living by not what we get, but we make a living by what we give."
And most importantly from weeping, one learns  to love  and  respect everyone , to attend to their needs, to  be ready to respond and to understand.
The most difficult part of spiritual practice is to open our hearts and suffer with all people including our enemies.
And our greatest teacher is Jesus:
"Which commandment is first of all?. . ."you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29.
Weep and, let everything go, and care for others!

I think it's probably more salient to think of stalinism as equivalent to a political subparty within the communist party as a whole; back then saying you were "trotskyist" or "stalinist" or "zinovievite" was more a very present political affiliation than an ideology. all of these men flip-flopped political positions but retained support bases. nowadays (in online leftie circles) it's more of an ideology than a political platform but it very much wasn't like that while stalin was alive. it was even more inseparable from his person and i'd say "stalinism" is more of a method of governing and a personality cult.
khrushchev was someone who operated for a long time as a stalinist and then turned around and decried the specific terror-based crimes of the party while trying to break down stalin's following. at the same time, i think it would be misleading to say that he was the "opposite" of stalinist - he was anti-stalin, he tried to break down the personality cult, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's against everything stalin ever did or disagreed with him as thoroughly as someone like churchhill.
khrushchev's the equivalent of a never-trumper. i'd still call them both tankies though - they sure shared the authoritarianism
It's so funny how the meaning of "tankie" has kept expanding to encompass those who previously used it. Like at first it was very specifically used by British Trots to refer to communists that supported the Soviet Suppression of the 1956 Hungarian Uprising (because you know, they supported sending in the Tanks). But later on various "Libertarian" Leftists used it as a general pejorative for any perceived "Authoritarians", which usually includes Trots. Now you see fucking Liberals using it to mean any "Leftist" they see as too violent or radical; like it wasn't that long ago I saw someone referring to an Anarchist as "Tankie". Like how long until it enters the political mainstream? I can't wait to hear Joe Biden supporters call anyone who opposes his genocide a Tankie

In the UK one can visit certain country houses and walk around their grounds and gardens, normally properties partly owned by the National Trust. I have visited many National Trust sites (my favourite being Sheffield Park down in Sussex) and some of the places partly or fully owned by the National Trust were once homes of famous people. Chartwell for example is the family home and garden of Churchhill.
Many of these properties have been given to the National Trust because the heirs have been unable to afford the upkeep; and I can just see Benedict and Clover’s home being one of these properties one visits in modern times to admire the garden. Perhaps to see the studio the famed artist Benedict Bridgerton painted in. Just future generations falling in love with the home Benedict and Clover made together; and for the garden Clover created to forever be protected and to always blossom. For Clover’s garden to never to be destroyed.
Omggg I love this idea so much! 😍 Awww this is genius darling! ❤️
For Clover’s garden to never to be destroyed. EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY-
Because yesssss, this would be so sweet! ❤️ The idea that her garden is finally protected and never destroyed for generations and it being a part of their love and their home for everyone to see...❤️
I'm so emotional about this omg😭❤️😍

"People died under communism" people die under capitalism all the time. These people act like China was the best country on earth before communism even though foot binding, illiteracy and opium use was high. It's also very telling these people never talk about the millions of people that died under famine during Britain's rule of India as the fault of capitalism. Winston Churchhill openly did not a give a shit because he saw Indians as inferior..
🍵🍵🔥🔥
Nooo you don't get it anon: Communism failed it was bc Communism was inherently evil and irrealist, but capitalism is failing is because.... there's not enough capitalism, a-and the big bad government, a-and-
People die because of capitalism every day but these White anti communists don't care. They'll always find excuses to simp capitalism and act like there wasn't alternative. Deep down, the reason they hate Communism is bc it's the only regime threatening them. Nazism is ultimately White friendly and that's why White conservatives are so quick to shrugg off the concerns of (non Whites) feeling anxious at the resurgence of neo Nazism, gaslighting them arguing they're getting dramatic. They're clowns.
I'll never trust anti communists who hardly have the same energy to seethe about Nazism & White supremacists.

Please don't tell me that I am the only one that notice that Clueless (1995) is just a cheap ripoff to Emma by Jane Austen?
A spoiled brat living on her own with her difficult father that loves to make matches for other people, but herself doesn't think highly of men for herself until she finds a man that is clearly only into her for the show? That finally falls in love with the dude that was hanging out at her house and working with her dad for ages and she at first didn't notice until someone else fell for him? C'mon the dude she tries to set up her friend with is called Elton. Do you mean Mr. Elton? That has an annoying girlfriend/wife afterwards?
Am I the only one?
Let me break it down.
Cher is Emma obviously.
Ty/Tai or whatever her name is, is Harriet. She gets a make over and is Cher's pet to manipulate. She also likes Elton/Mr Elton because Cher said so.
Well Elton doesn't like Ty but Cher, he only shows interest in her to get close to Cher.
So that doesn't go well.
Let's not forget that skater dude that is supposed to be Mr Martin which is like so way under Ty's standard blablabla.
Meanwhile Cher found someone of interest herself Christian or Mr. Churchhill in the novel. Well in the film he's gay and that's the reason they don't get together in the novel he already has a fiancée.
Oh have I already mentioned that dude that hangs out with Cher's dad? Josh, yeah that's Mr. Knightley, slightly older than her (while reading the novel I thought he was way older than her but apparently not). Well they tease it eachother, he calls her out for being selfish blabla, Cher doesn't realise she likes him until Ty is like "Mhh I'd tap that" and Cher is like "???? NO??" and then she goes up to Josh and they kiss, yay. And Harriett gets together with the loser skaterboy.
Of course they changed a lot of the book to fit Hollywood, there is no Dion and her bf in the book. And in the film there is no Mrs and Miss Bates as well as Jane Fairfax oh and the whole Mrs/Mr Weston lol.
Clueless is a ripoff to Jane Austen and nobody knows it!!11!!!11
Never fucking mind. I had to google one of the characters and it is actually supposed to be an adaption of Emma. What the fuck.

Tag yourself as an Emma character
Emma: means well but always manages to mess stuff up, knows what she wants, doesn’t recognize her own feelings
Harriet: falls in love easily, somewhat ditsy and clumsy, innocent one of the group, honestly just doing their best
Jane Fairfax: is good at everything and anything, reserved and makes bad choices in picking friends, always sick
Mr. knightly: just watches shit go down, constant eye rolling, falls in love once and only once
Mr Woodhouse: neurotic and eccentric, really protective of everyone, overbearing but means well
Mrs. Weston: the mom friend(tm), always has extra snacks on her, listens to you rant, genuinely cares about everyone
Frank Churchhill: unknowingly flirts with everyone, good at keeping secrets, comes off as spoiled and naive but in reality is just a prick sometimes

“Jojo Rabbit” Review: Reich in the Feels
Tumblr media
Directed by Taika Waititi
Starring: Roman Griffin Davis, Taika Waititi, Thomasin McKenzie, Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson
At first glance, “Jojo Rabbit” looks like a supremely, over the top, hilarious romp through one of history’s darkest times and societies with only a light spattering of sincere thematic story-telling.
In the end though, Taika Waititi’s latest comedic romp may not have as many laughs as expected but it more than makes up for it with its quirky tone, genuine charm and a wholesome coming of age film that will warm even the coldest of hearts.
Tumblr media
(I wasn’t ready...)
It’s a testament to Waititi’s nuanced directorial finesse that he is able to walk such a fine line between the truly terrible and, unfortunately, all too real circumstances of the time while creating a genuinely great and often humorous coming of age film for audiences of kind can enjoy.
“Jojo Rabbit” takes place toward the tail end of World War II where a young German boy named Jojo, in hopes of earning the praise of his Fuhrer, who takes the form of an imaginary friend, joins a Hitler Youth camp to make a name for himself. He wants to fit in with belligerent, Jew-hating older members of the camp but finds he just doesn’t have what it takes. After a freak accident he finds himself even more ostracized from his peers but when he discovers an older Jewish girl hiding upstairs in his home Jojo see’s an opportunity to prove himself to Hitler.
One of the most common retorts I hear and read these days on “cancel culture” is that a film like “Blazing Saddles” could never be made today.
Conservatives, centrists, and bull shit reactionaries like to drone on and on about the offensive language displayed in the film being too much for today’s hypersensitive “woke” crowd and say these folks would dissolve into mush if they heard such words muttered across the screen today.
Never mind it is a popular movie among people of this ilk and never mind the fact that interpreting the Mel Brooks classic as just a western with some offensive language is a fundamental and gross misreading of the film.
youtube
(Mel Brooks is laughing at you, not with you, assholes...)
You see, Brooks never tried to make the N-word about the black people in the film but more about how it’s used against black folk instead and how white people will consistently go against their best interests if it means the “right people” get hurt. You see, Brooks was always about punching up when it came to comedy, lampooning those in power for the little guys such as Jews like himself or as “Blazing Saddles” did for African Americans.
For all the praise douchebag, anti-“PC” folks give Brooks for making that film the director himself is on record as stating that there are lines even he would never cross because comedy can be a force for good and if misinterpreted or intentionally written with malice it can be used for bad.
Tumblr media
(Hmmm I wonder who this reminds me of...)
So in comes Taika Waititi to show reactionaries once again that these films are 100 percent relevant to the world we live in today because it’s not about “offensive words,” it’s about context and whether your humor punches up or punches down and “Jojo” definitely does the former.
“Jojo Rabbit” doesn’t want us to just laugh at Hitler saying silly things like giving life advice to a little boy about killing Jews, blaming Winston Churchhill for his problems, or offering cigarettes to Jojo every minute. The film wants us to really confront how impressionable young children are often warped by the hate society has around them and how adults create this environment to foster this resentment of those who are different.
Tumblr media
(The closest we’ll ever get to “Springtime for Hitler” though)
The film paints a brilliant picture of how hatred can grow into disillusionment among many of the film’s characters particularly Sam Rockwell’s who turns in a brilliantly understated performance as a grizzled German army officer who has decided he’s seen enough from this war and no fucks left to give. Scarlett Johansson’s puts in an equally powerful performance as Jojo’s mother who is just trying to do her small part to make the world a better place in the bitter landscape of Germany’s hate-filled society. Both of them pair brilliantly alongside Roman Griffin Davis’s Jojo who, for such a young actor, is equally impressive powering the light yet somber soul of the film.
Tumblr media
(Sam Rockwell clearly enjoyed playing a Nazi as much as Taika did apparently.)
Of course, Taika Waititi is great as the aforementioned imaginary Hitler playing a child-like caricature of the monster in the best way a film like this can do. Between him and Davis the two create a joyous duo that powers the film’s poignant message, deconstructing hate and learning in the end to choose love.
The film stylistically bares a lot of resemblance to Wes Anderson films with its use of European music and pop tracks and pastel color palette for its cinematography and fans will likely be most reminded of “The Grand Budapest Hotel” while watching this film. Its message is often very similar lampooning hate-filled fanaticism while giving plenty of time for more touching moments for its lead characters. If you enjoyed those films you are likely to enjoy the stylistic and narrative choices of this one.
If there was one critique, I might have of the film is that it perhaps over simplifies hate. People often think that short of Klan hoods, slavery and gas chambers hatred really has one face and its only overt. The film seems to paint a picture of a world that believes this is so, maybe not entirely, but yet still see’s this kind of hatred in the simplest of terms. Yes, the movie is told mostly through the eyes of a young boy but if the last three years is any indication hatred is a lot more nefarious and complicated than over the top caricatures of evil.
Tumblr media
(Pictured: An over the top caricature of evil)
But this isn’t enough to truly take away from the film’s majesty which in its epic climax will lmove most to the tears. It’s a harrowing journey from learned hatred to loving acceptance of the other and the film, given its premise, is rather brilliant because of it. By the film’s climax it’ll be hard not to be moved by Jojo’s transformation and the triumph of humanity and its absolutely worth seeing.
“Jojo Rabbit” is the rare kind of film that perfectly balances a dark theme with often youthful charm and sincerity and the result might be one of the best feel good films of the last few years.
The world is a pretty shitty place and society often teaches us to hate without reproach but if we can learn to be more self-aware of how we are being manipulated and learn to love the “other” maybe we can all eventually arrive in a society we all want to live in.
Maybe…
 VERDICT:
5 out of 5
Tumblr media
Take a bow, Taika.

Humans Are Weird: Vampires Pt. 2
You asked for it, so you shall receive it, the story and misadventures of Vladislav and Glaza continue; hope you all enjoy. Also since the first story was in Glaza’s perspective, this one will be in Vladislav's
Well... This was the dumbest situation I’ve landed myself in the last century or so, it even topped siding with Napoleon during the French civil war. Now here I am, in my room with an alien tied to my bed, “Please don’t kill me, I still have internet arguments to win!”
“Please shut both of your mouths I’m not going to kill you unless I get hungry.”
[Glaza Incoherently screaming]: AAHHH! Please no, no, no, no, no!
“I’m kidding, jeez even Churchhill thought that joke was funny,” I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration, I sighed, “Look if I promise to untie you will you listen to me and not punch me alright.”
“sure that sounds fair,” we both shared a fun laugh.
“Haha, seriously though if you do punch me again I’m going to rip out your still beating heart from one of your throats and eat it in front of you,” I leaned in close to his face a  dark violet glow emanating from my eyes, “all of it, understand?”
[Glaza nervous laughter]: hahaha ah~
“Good,” I untie Glaza who immediately shrinks down into the corner of the room, ”alright listen, the only reason I’m not erasing your memory right now is that you found me out once before and erasing your memory isn’t gonna stop you from doing it again, that and killing you would be a bit harder to cover up.
With how quiet the room is you could hear Glaza nervously gulp before saying, “S-so, why are y-you here?” god if his voice was anymore shaky it would be a rattle.
“I’m here so I can colonize Noctus-III.”
“Wait, what! I know it’s an earth-category death-world, but with its dense atmosphere little to no light can touch the surface.”
“The fact that there’s little to no light is the main reason I want to colonize it; you see my kind tend to, and this is the most delicate way I can put this, burst into a fireball of agonizing pain when we come in contact with sunlight, I can walk around cause I have a micro forcefield that blocks U.V. light.”
“How noble of you,” Glaza stood up and started to shack my hand, “to build a homeworld for your species is truly an admirable endeavor-”
“Oh fuck no that's not it, I’m planning on monopolizing it!”
“Come again!?”
“My kind will pay top credit for a little plot of land on the only planet they can thrive on, I’m gonna be filthy stinking rich!”
“Oh, nevermind, extorting your entire species, wow you are a horrible excuse for a living being”
“Jokes on you I’m dead, and your gonna help me.”
“And why would I agree to assist you in such a scam”
“Cause now... you're my familiar.”
“Wait, What!” Glaza looked down to see glowing violet markings attached to his wrists, “This can’t be happening, this can’t-”
“Oh it can my companion,” Vladislav pulled Glaza close in a friendly manner, “it can be.”
[Glaza losing all hope for a normal life]: NNNOOOOOOO!
To Be Continued...
Remember kids, Like and Reblog to show support.
p.s. I’ve decided to scrap the H.A.W. warframe one since no one cared about it.
