Friendly Sam Wilson Anon,
I know it's been a while, but I am back !!!!
It's the holiday season and I am feeling festive !!! This is my favorite time of year and the music, and the togetherness are my favorite parts. So, we are here to create a holiday playlist for our beloved Sam Wilson and his wonderful ships. It does not matter what Sam ship you ship, let's have fun and make sure you tag Sam Wilson and the ship that you ship 🙂. Be creative and let's vibe out to some holiday music !!!
I hope these playlists inspire new fics, artwork, videos, edits and so much more. Lets tag it "Sam Wilson Holiday Playlist" and let's use the same hashtag for his ships !!!!!
Happy Holidays ❤️
hello, friendly sam wilson anon! i've missed you, i hope you've been well <3
oh, and merry christmas eve!
sorry this took so long for me to answer--holidays have been much busier than expected!
this is less of a playlist per se than songs that i think sam would enjoy/listen to, or that remind me of him and/or sambucky (+ some explanations why)
this is in no particular order
All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
gotta start with the classics. sam was a teenager in the 90s. he probably would've been all over it when it was released, and now that he's in his 40s he loves it just as much and is extra obnoxious about it bc goddamn it it's christmastime and he can be obnoxious about it. he sings it to bucky first thing on november 1st every year, purposefully missing every high note as atrociously as he can, and bucky, while outwardly grumpy, doesn't think he's ever heard anything so beautiful in his life as sam's off-key scream-singing, laughter laced through every lyric
The Mistletoe Jam (Everybody Kiss Somebody) - Luther Vandross
look, i think sam would be ALL over all of luther vandross's christmas album, but this one is my particular favorite, and i think it'd be sam's too. it's fun, it's sexy, luther's voice is spectacular as always, and i can ABSOLUTELY see sam and bucky getting a little down and dirty to luther crooning "you still got the flavor / and i'm hungry for your love / so i'm gon play this one jam / that'll make you want to kiss somebody" ESPECIALLY when they're a little bit older and just having fun/comfortable with each other
Let It Snow - Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight
once again, sam was a teenaged boy in the 90s. this is absolutely one of his favorites, for the same reasons he likes mistletoe jam. smooth, sexy, romantic, and who doesn't love a bit of boyz ii men tbh
I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm - Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
i think this might’ve been one of the songs that sam’s mama and daddy had on vinyl when he was a kid, one they’d swing around the house to after they’d all trimmed the tree and put out the fancy christmas tableware. sam and sarah would both laugh and smile along as they danced through the living room, before they’d get pulled in themselves.
years later, when he and bucky move into their first place together and after they’ve decorated for the holidays, sam pulls out this record and sees if bucky remembers how to swing
Go Tell It On the Mountain - Mahalia Jackson
a VERY different type of christmas song than the ones thus far, but one i think sam loves anyway. if we're mixing in a bit of his comics background, his father was a pastor, and he would've grown up in church. he's probably got a lot of fond memories singing this one around christmas time, maybe even was in the church choir himself, and i know some of my own favorite christmas songs were the ones i grew up singing in church. it probably reminds him of his childhood, so he always has to make sure he hears it at least once every christmas season, whether it's on spotify or at the christmastime service he still goes to for his late mama's sake, even if it's not necessarily an "on repeat" kind of christmas song
I’ll Be Home For Christmas (If Only In My Dreams) - Frank Sinatra
i don’t know if this is necessarily one sam listens to every year, but i do think he’d probably relate to it during certain times of his life. it was written in wwii from the perspective of a soldier overseas, and it probably would’ve hit home for sam both during his tours and during the two years he spent on the run, missing his family but unable to go home. probably would’ve been one steve was singing along to, as well, as he would’ve heard bing crosby’s original version back in 1943, when he was overseas himself. it made for a melancholy christmas, sure, but i think this song probably would’ve been a comfort in some way as well
this is less a playlist and more a christmas song led sam headcanon session lmao, but hopefully it works! thanks for the ask, friendly sam wilson anon, and happy holidays <3

Gay Christmas is officially happening this year haha. The tree was half off plus my work discount so I couldn't resist. My mom got the decor for it and we went with silver for the Christmas balls, garland and tree skirt. I love this tree and so do the cats. • • • • • • • | Hashtags | #gaming #gamer #gamergirl #gamers #gameroom #gamingsetup #games #game #gamenight #gamingcommunity #gamingpc #gamingroom #pcsetup #pc #pcgaming #pcgamer #rgb #setup #gamerlife #gamersofinstagram #instagamer #smallstreamer #streamer #christmas #christmasdecorations #christmasdecor #christmastree #christmastime #HazzardCat • • | Linktr.ee | https://linktr.ee/HazzardCat • • | Social Media Links | Twitch: Twitch.tv/HazzardCat Facebook: HazzardCat YouTube: HazzardCat Twitter: HazzardCat Discord: HazzardCat#2553 Tiktok: HazzardCat https://www.instagram.com/p/CltkGYYryJt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

An Inklings Christmas Challenge: Official Announcement
The Event
The Inklings Christmas Challenge invites writers to create a science fiction or fantasy story within the Christian worldview set at Christmastime. It can be Christmas of the past, present, or future, Christmas on Earth, on another planet, or in another universe altogether. It could be the same Christmas that we know, or a secondary world’s version of the holiday. Let’s bring Christmas joy to all the fantastical and futuristic worlds!
The Guidelines
This is a casual challenge meant to provide a little extra fun during an otherwise busy holiday season, so the requirements are meant to make this as simple and low-stress as possible.
Writers can create a story in any science fiction or fantasy genre of their choice. You may use the original Inklings Challenge categories as inspiration, or choose a completely different subgenre. You may also, if you wish, write a piece set within the world of one of your other works.
Because of the many commitments related to the real-world holiday, this challenge is focused on short stories. Writers are challenged to create a story in 3,000 words or less. However, writers can post their stories even if the word count exceeds the suggested length.
Completed stories can be posted on a tumblr blog any time before the deadline of January 6th, 2022. If you don’t finish by the deadline, you are welcome to share whatever you’ve completed by January 6th. You can also post the completed story after the deadline has passed. However, because of the seasonal nature of the challenge, any stories posted after February 2nd, 2022 will not be shared on the main challenge blog.
Stories should use the hashtag #inklingschristmaschallenge. Writers should also mention @inklings-challenge within the text of the post containing the story. All stories will then be shared to the main Inklings Challenge blog.
If writers wish for a little extra inspiration, optional prompts will be posted to the main challenge blog over the course of the challenge, but the only required guidelines are the ones listed above. Any questions, comments, or concerns can be directed to the @inklings-challenge blog, and I will do my best to address them.
That’s the Inklings Christmas Challenge! Now go forth and create!

on monday, november 27th, trainees in the studio delta building are gathered up first thing in the morning, coaches checking in with each of their students before designating them to a shuttle bus. they’re quiet about what they’re planning, just telling each trainee who asks that they’ll explain everything when they get to the destination and that it has something to do with december evaluations.
likewise, sr media trainees are rounded up in a similar fashion, though one particularly chipper coach sing-songs that there’s already less than a month until christmas. some of the trainees murmur among themselves that this might be a hint.
the busses stop in front of the lime entertainment training building, where all trainees are told to enter the building and follow guides to the gymnasium. there, they’re met with a large group of lime entertainment trainees who have also been gathered up this morning. the three groups of trainees keep to themselves for the most part, each staying in their separate groups, while they wait for their instructors to tell them what’s going on. they know that the three companies are on friendly terms, but it’s certainly unusual for all of the trainees to mingle together in one building like this.
“do i have your attention?” han sangmi, the same dance instructor who announced the last special evaluation at lime entertainment, speaks into a microphone, making sure that all of the trainees can hear her before she continues. “there’s only twenty-eight days until christmas! i’m sure that all of you can’t wait to know if you’re on the naughty or nice list. to help make that decision a little easier for santa this year, the training staff at lime entertainment, studio delta, and sr media have agreed to combine forces for a special christmastime charity event— and your december evaluation.”
“that’s right,” yoo daewon of studio delta takes over the microphone, “this month, trainees from all three companies are working together to support the seoul national university children’s hospital toy drive. throughout the month of december, we’ll be running a toy drive. drop-off boxes will be available in the front lobby of every company building, as well as at special events around town. we’ll be assigning groups of trainees to help hand out flyers, monitor the donation bins, and wrap the donated gifts in between your regular lessons.”
finally, sr media’s kim minjun takes his turn with the mic. “you may be wondering how your monthly evaluations factor into this. well, clear any plans you have on christmas eve. on that saturday, all trainees will be dressing up as santa’s helpers and personally delivering gifts to the children in the hospital. as part of our gift, we’ll also be going around in small caroling groups to spread a little christmas cheer to the kids and their families. we expect everyone to maintain their character and to represent your companies—and santa himself—well with this experience.”
sangmi speaks again, “for this month only, all trainees will be sharing lime entertainment’s practice areas to prepare for caroling and acting as santa’s elves. don’t worry, shuttles from sr media and studio delta will be provided to you. all of your usual lessons will still take place at your regular companies, but we want everyone to mix and mingle and get into the jingle bell spirit together here!”
daewon and minjun look somewhere between amused and annoyed at the lime entertainment instructor. however, they open the floor to questions soon after, and soon enough are shuttling their students back to their respective companies.
OOC:
this event is for trainees only and will run until january 4 at 11:59pm. any threads or solos posted after the deadline will not count toward points. please send in your points submission before this deadline.
please use the hashtag #BE:XMASCHARITY for all posts relating to this event.
FOR +5 SKILLS POINTS please write a 4-post thread with another trainee about your muses preparing for the charity caroling event at the children’s hospital.
FOR +5 ANCILLARY POINTS please write a 4-post thread with any other muse that they meet or work with at the donation bins (can be combined with the holiday market event for wannabes).
FOR +3 ACTING POINTS, +3 LIVE SINGING POINTS, & +3 REPUTATION, please write a 300+ word solo about your muse caroling and giving gifts to the children at the hospital.
when you’ve completed all options that you’d like to participate in, please send the following form to our points submission blog:
SUBMISSION TITLE: MUSE NAME - COMPANY - CHRISTMAS CHARITY 2022
preparation: +5 points to distribute to any performance skills (sing, dance, or rap) [ link to thread ]
donation bins: +5 points to distribute to any ancillary skills (presence, aesthetic, choreo, composition) [ link to thread ]
caroling: +3 acting, +3 live singing, +3 reputation [ link to solo ]

As Gillian Anderson walked through the lounge of a posh Los Angeles hotel late last fall, I wondered how it was possible that no one pounced on her for an autograph or threw themselves passionately at her feet. The star of Netflix’s Sex Education, The X-Files, and soon The Crown was clad in a bright fuchsia tailored suit and seemed to radiate stardust from her pale pink pores, yet not a single head so much as turned. Instead Anderson quietly settled in beside a fireplace to observe others going about their business: well-heeled guests silently playing a mysterious board game with crystal discs, and a pack of shaggy-chic hounds that darted in and out of the room pursued by their equally rumpled master.
Anderson and I were supposed to be discussing season two of Sex Education, the British teen dramedy that was a surprise hit when Netflix first released it a year ago. She reprises her role as Jean Milburn, a forthright sex therapist and single mom to Otis (Asa Butterfield), who—despite his own bodily anxieties and absolute inexperience—follows in his mother’s sexpert footsteps and offers counseling-for-cash to his fumbling teenage peers. But Netflix had declared so many plot points off-limits, you’d have thought it was a Game of Thrones spin-off rather than a sweetly off-kilter series doused in adolescent horniness and confusion.
“I looked at the list of spoilers—it is basically every single plotline that’s in the entire season!” said Anderson. Suffice it to say that Jean remains the kind of parent who would loudly announce, “I’m so proud that you’re at this stage in your pubescent development.” She continues dispensing advice and embarrassing Otis by overstepping parent-child boundaries whenever possible. She also unabashedly pursues her own pleasure, even as Otis gets to grips (yes, literally) with his sexuality. “Poor Otis!” Anderson sighed empathetically.“I haven’t played many moms,” she said, sifting through a lifetime of roles in her head. Although she has three kids in real life, Anderson noted that  she’s “mostly played women that don’t have children.” Anderson specializes in high-intensity heroines, such as the iconic Agent Dana Scully in the The X-Files, a compelling detective pursuing a serial killer in The Fall, Great Expectations’ Miss Havisham, and All About Eve’s Margo Channing.
Her character in Sex Education is a rare comedic turn, though she approached it with the same desire for unpredictability. Anderson told me last year she wanted Jean “to feel grounded and neurotic at the same time. I wanted her to feel like she had things under control, and yet she might be losing her grip at any time. I wanted her to feel that she really was feeling like she was trying her best, and yet kept making mistakes and saying the wrong thing.”
Anderson has embraced her character’s sexpert status, dubbing herself “Shag Specialist” on Twitter, where she regularly posts playful images of things that look like genitals, hashtagged #YonioftheDay and #PenisoftheDay. She revels in the dilemmas Sex Education writers cook up for the scripts: One of her favorites this season involved a sexual experiment with a stocking stuffer filled with M&M’s. “You know those tubes that you get at Christmastime in your stocking that you can hang on your tree?” she asked in her crisp American voice, which occasionally strays into a British accent because she has lived in the U.K. for years.
Waving distractedly to a man in the distance, Anderson muttered in a hushed voice, “That’s my boyfriend, Peter”—The Crown creator Peter Morgan. The couple have been working together on season four of the series, in which Anderson plays U.K. prime minister Margaret Thatcher, but she insists there was no nepotism involved in the casting decision. “I’ve heard Pete say that were we not together, I still would have been offered it,” she said. I believe it: Anderson’s forte is exactly that type of steely charisma exuded by Thatcher, which earned her the nickname the “Iron Lady.”
Although she spent a portion of her childhood in the U.K. during the 1970s, Anderson said her family never cared about the queen at all. “I never paid that much attention [to the royals] until I was in a relationship with Pete,” she recalled. Even then, she didn’t immerse herself in the topic until she joined the show and, she said with mock exasperation, “it became a topic of daily conversation!” She dove into research on Thatcher’s life, searching for the key to that impregnable self-belief and drive that gave the Conservative prime minister her towering aura of authority and ability to bulldoze through any opposition.
“It was almost like she came out of the womb with it,” Anderson said. “Just seeing still imagery of her standing next to her father who was an alderman, she’s so self-possessed and she started making speeches back then. She probably watched him write them and absorbed it. But none of that really necessarily explains the particular power she had—how determined she was. She really believed that she had the answers.” Anderson ascribes that in part to Thatcher’s religious upbringing as a Methodist: “There were certain ways of doing things, and if you stick to the right behavior and right mind and right action then there are good results at the end of it. She felt like she could whip the country into shape in the same way that she could whip a household into shape.”
The Crown spent its first few seasons dramatizing Queen Elizabeth’s halting journey toward embracing her own power. She grew into her role in part thanks to the counsel and encouragement of past prime ministers like Winston Churchill and Harold Wilson. So it will be interesting to watch her more frictional relationship with Thatcher play out onscreen next season. Anderson said that while Elizabeth II and Thatcher were of a similar age, “their differences were such that you could understand why they would rub against each other.… They were the antithesis of each other.”
Anderson is fascinated by the way Thatcher came into her own later in life. Her own options seem to be similarly expanding as she grows older. She spent years adapting an Elizabeth Rosner novel into a screenplay but ended up putting the project aside because she was being offered constant acting work. “I haven’t been brave enough to create that time,” she said, “because there have been too many other tantalizing things.”
Her first big role as Agent Scully 26 years ago plunged Anderson into the maelstrom of celebrity sex objecthood—something that made her uncomfortable at the time. She said she feels much more comfortable in her skin these days. “Back then I never really quite understood what people were referring to, especially [with] Scully,” she said, letting out a throaty laugh when I stared at her disbelievingly. “I’m sure it had a lot to do with my own self-esteem or lack thereof at the time. But I can definitely own it now, in a fun way. Almost like, Really? Okay.” She paused to take a sip of tea and smiled. “I have fun with that because it won’t last forever.”

A Christmastime toy giveaway can be a fun and easy way to show your loved ones how much you care. There are many different types of christmas toys, so it’s important to choose the right one for your individual recipient. For example, if you’re giving a toy to a child, you might want to choose a fun and creative toy such as an action figure or a novel. However, if you’re giving a gift to someone else, you might want something more traditional like a doll or annamite.
What are the Different Types of Christmastime Toys
There are different types of Christmastime toys for everyone. Some people prefer Classic Toys to something more unique, like transformer figurines or teddy bears with lights on them. Other people loveCreate-A-Toysto give their children something they can use and customize themselves, such as designing their own Christmas tree ornaments. Still others prefer novelty gifts that will be interesting but not too complex, like jigsaw puzzles or playhouses that open up automatically when touched.
The best way to give a christmas toy giveaway is by following these simple steps:
1) Choose the type of christmas toy that your recipients will enjoy most
2) Write out the instructions for giving the gift
3) Gift wrap the toy and post it in an easy-to-reach location

Toys that are meant to be played with should also be avoided – such as action figures or plush animals – since they can potentially cause harm if mishandled.
Give a Gift that Will Enjoy Repeat Use
If you want your recipients to enjoy their Christmas gifts again next year, include a special offer or coupon code in your gift announcement. This will encourage them to use and return your presents! If you have some old action figures or play sets lying around, consider putting them to use in new and creative ways! For example, if your toy box includes classic Barbie dolls and trucks, why not turn them into creative building blocks? Or if your collection of carsincludes vintage models from the 1950s and 1960s, why not convert them into realistic 3D car models? Thinking of getting out of town this Christmas? Why not head out to Salem, Oregon?
Salem is a capital city that is full of parks and gardens, but it also has a metro vibe. Landmarks include the domed Oregon State Capitol that contains an art collection by Oregon artists. You will also want to check out sites like the Hallie Ford Museum of Arts, the Willamette Heritage Center and the Bush House Museum.
The sights of Oregon look especially appealing when they are lit up for the Christmas holiday. Here are some things you’ll want to check out when you’re in town.
The Salem Riverfront Carousel
Riverfront Park is a 23-acre park located along the Willamette River. It includes a Discovery Village, an amphitheater, an eco-friendly earth globe, an outdoor sculpture a community art project and a carousel.
The carousel is especially magical to ride at Christmastime when it doubles as a Food Drive. All donations of canned food benefit the Marion Polk Food Share.
Tree Lighting at Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is also the site of a special tree lighting ceremony. Taking place in early December, the lighting is led by the mayor who is assisted by one lucky child in flicking the switch.
Other festivities include a visit form Santa, hot chocolate and cookies, live reindeer, holiday bell ringing, a letter to Santa station, musical performances by a local choir, a scavenger hunt, holiday craft making and visits with the Salem Fire Department and Salem’s Park Ranger.
The park stays lit up for the entire holiday season making it a great place to stroll through, especially at night.
Go Ice Skating
Riverfront Park is also the site of the Salem on Ice ice-skating rink. It is open every day through the holiday season with extended hours on Christmas and Christmas Eve.
Miracle of Christmas Lights Display
Salem residents are known for going all out when it comes to Christmas decorations. You can drive around looking at the various neighborhoods but one you won’t want to miss out on is the Gubser Neighborhood.
The neighbors in the area make Christmas a formal event hosting the Miracle of Christmas Lights display. Guests can walk or drive through and follow the signs to enjoy the festivities.
Like the carousel in Riverside Park, this also doubles as a fundraising event for the Marion Polk Food Share. Guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item to donate.
Search for Ornaments in the Willamette National Forest
If you enjoy scavenger hunts, the Willamette National Forest is the place to be.
Every year, the park rangers scatter 200 ornaments throughout the forest. Guests who find the ornaments have a chance to win packages that may include dinner, an activity or an overnight stay in a local hotel.
The ornaments don’t get found easily. In 2019, only forty of the 200 items had been found by mid-December. Be sure to check the Forest’s website for clues as to where they may be.
Once you find an ornament, rangers encourage you to post a picture on social media alongside the hashtags “findyourornament or #findyourtrail.
