Merry Christmas = ancient, fun, debauched, boozy
Happy Christmas = puritanical temperance movement bullshit
The real war against Christmas has been by busybody moralizing teetotalers against those who just want to let loose and revel at the end of the year.
MERRY Christmas everyone!

The fact that we, Arabic-speaking average people(aka non-journalists), have to keep up with translating Palestinian posts from Arabic to English to avoid having Western Media/Pro-Zionists mistranslate on purpose, says enough about how we all lost trust in the media. From the "there's a list" guy who was standing in front of a calendar and condemning the days of the week, to the BBC's mistranslation of a freed Palestinian hostage's interview. I will try my best to keep translating whatever I can find, and I encourage my fellow bilingual/multilingual Arabs to do the same. It's already sad enough that Palestinian journalists and even children have to use English in videos instead of their native tongue in order to get the world leaders' attention.
Please keep speaking about Palestine.

Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition—as we now know it—by the 16th century when sources record devout Christians bringing decorated trees into their homes. Some built Christmas pyramids of wood and decorated them with evergreens and candles if wood was scarce. ❤️🎄

the true meaning of Christmas is telling museum guests about Snapdragon
what is Snapdragon? glad you asked
it's a Victorian Christmas game whereby you try to grab currants out of a bowl of flaming alcohol, with your bare hands
I'm told there's some Science wizardry whereby you don't actually burn yourself- most of the time -and videos I've seen of people playing it nowadays would seem to bear that out. but like...STILL
