This is definitely a trend for the hateful, christofascist, religious reich. Hobby Lobby did the same thing at previous Super Bowls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s right wing, Islamophobic, homophobic, anti-abortion Christian nationalism, masquerading as “caring” religion.

The Servant Foundation: the power behind the ads
The $20 million "He Gets Us" campaign about Jesus - is funded by an influential donor to some of the most active and litigious Shadow Network groups working to undermine church-state separation.
The Servant Foundation
The Servant Foundation, also known as The Signatry, is behind the “He Gets Us” ad campaign that debuted during the 2023 Super Bowl. Over the next three years, the Servant Foundation plans to spend “about a billion dollars” toward this public relations campaign. They’ve hired a PR firm to address, in the firm’s words, the problem of “How did the world’s greatest love story in Jesus become known as a hate group?”
Of course, they’re the cause of their own problem – not only has the Servant Foundation funded hate groups, but the PR firm, Haven, has represented these organizations. Key Shadow Network members Focus on the Family and Alliance Defending Freedom are in their portfolio. ADF is a noted anti-LGBTQ hate group that has argued repeatedly in courts that religion, and specifically Christianity, is a license to discriminate; they have one such case pending before the Supreme Court right now.
The money trail
The Servant Foundation is one of ADF’s biggest financial backers. A recent exposé reports that, “between 2018-20, the Servant Foundation donated more than $50 million to the Alliance Defending Freedom and that those contributions “were among the five largest donations given out by the foundation in each of those three years.”
Other recipients of the Servant Foundation’s billion dollars in assets include:
Nearly $8 million went to Answers in Genesis, creationist Ken Ham’s fundamentalist ministry behind the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, an organization that has been championed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a former ADF attorney.
Over $1 million was designated for the anti-LGBTQ Campus Crusade for Christ (rebranded as “Cru” since 2011).
$374,800 went to Al Hayat Ministries, an organization that seeks to “respectfully yet fearlessly unveil the deception of Islam,” and runs an Arabic-language Christian satellite TV station with the goal of converting Muslims to Christianity.
In 2020 alone, we found donations to prominent Shadow Network members American Center for Law and Justice, First Liberty Institute, and Liberty Counsel.

David and Bathsheba
Artist: Artemisia Gentileschi  (Italian, 1593–1653)
Genre: Religious Art
Depicted People: Bathsheba
Date: circa 1636-1637
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Collection: Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, Ohio
David and Bathsheba
The story of David and Bathsheba is one of the most dramatic accounts in the Old Testament. One night in Jerusalem, King David was walking upon his rooftop when he spotted a beautiful woman bathing nearby (2 Samuel 11:2). David asked his servants about her and was told she was Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite, one of David’s mighty men (2 Samuel 23:39). Despite her marital status, David summoned Bathsheba to the palace, and they slept together.

John Knefel at MMFA:
Several right-wing organizations known mostly for opposing abortion, immigration, and trans rights are also involved in supporting and funding election denial groups, a sign of the issue’s centrality to the MAGA movement.
Following former President Donald Trump’s loss in 2020 and subsequent attempts to remain in power, a complicated and sprawling web of organizations emerged to sow doubt about future elections and spread debunked and baseless allegations of widespread voter fraud. Stringing these overlapping efforts together is the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, an umbrella organization connecting state and national election denial efforts with the broader right-wing policy ecosystem. These groups also significantly overlap with Project 2025, an effort organized by The Heritage Foundation to provide the next Republican presidential administration with staffing and policy recommendations.  Even as early as March 2021, mere months after Trump’s multifaceted effort to reverse the 2020 election, socially conservative groups began pouring money into election denial initiatives. That trend has only accelerated in the intervening years, with a host of anti-civil rights groups — often euphemistically characterized as engaged in the “culture wars” — having expanded their operations to include so-called election integrity.
These groups include the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, the anti-trans American Principles Project, a fund run by Hobby Lobby founder David Green, and high-profile right-wing charities National Christian Charitable Foundation and Christian Community Foundation, among others.  One of the primary myths that the election denial movement has spread this cycle concerns noncitizen voting, which experts agree is exceedingly rare. This manufactured scandal synthesizes two key pillars of the MAGA movement — demonizing immigrants and claiming that elections are rigged against right-wing candidates. The partners listed in the Only Citizens Vote Coalition include anti-immigrant groups the Federation for American Immigration Reform and the Immigration Accountability Project, illustrating how election denial groups have incorporated nativism into their movement. Both FAIR and IAP have strong links to the Tanton network, named after John Tanton, whom the Southern Poverty Law Center refers to as the “the racist architect of the modern anti-immigrant movement.”
Right-wing anti-civil rights organizations are going all-in on pushing the nonexistent “noncitizen voter” canard.

Fucking EXCUSE ME
Yes Christians, PLEASE go out to vote, and remember that Jesus was against the rich and powerful, and taught his followers to welcome immigrants and protect the weak and powerless
Jesus famously HATED peoples like Trump, especially when they used his name and cause to support whatever the fuck conservatives think Christianity is

Reading through 2 Kings, I've observed that even the kings were called servants and referred to as servants for the people.
It brought to mind Mark 9:35 where it says that whoever wants to be the first must place himself last of all and be the servant of all.
It also brought to mind Luke 22:26-27 where Jesus says that He was amongst His disciples as one to serve even though He was the one who sits down. And finally it brought to mind John 13:4-17 where He washes the feet of His disciples (although they call Him Teacher as well as Lord which He is), telling His disciples that they should too wash each other's feet. He tells them that slaves are never greater than their masters nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them. All of this made me realize that in the Kingdom of God, we're basically all servants of each other. . . we're servants of God. We're all here to do His will and that humility needs to be the most significant embodiment regarding our serving of Him and others.

It is a favour to see and feel our insufficiency to help ourselves; and if, under a sense of our nothingness, we earnestly apply for Divine help and strength, we shall, through faithful perseverance, at last receive the happy invitation, 'Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord'.
Memoirs of Increase Woodward (1742-1822)

One of the most interesting things about religion to me is that so many people don’t even see the mental gymnastics they are doing to try and shape the biblical texts into a framework that is acceptable in the modern day and it comes out looking like something that none of the authors would have approved of.
#not to mention that they were written by authors at different times and for different purposes#so they say lots of different things#which makes it easy to pick and choose the interpretation that best matches what you want#like the ‘one man one woman’ definition of marriage that doesn’t exist literally anywhere in the Bible#women were property and men could have as many as they wanted#but then once the Greeks influenced them a bit in the New Testament it says leaders of the church should have one wife#so that means the Bible is against polygamy even though every man in the Bible had multiple wives#or the people that say the Bible is against slavery#even though there is literal chattel slavery described in the Old Testament with commands on how to do it#and in the new testament slaves are told to obey their masters#then they say that they aren’t slaves just servants#which is completely false#it reminds me of how so many Protestants are vehemently against alcohol#so whenever the Bible refers to wine in a good context they say it’s juice#and whenever it’s bad it is wine#even though several different words are used that basically all refer to fermented alcoholic wine#they translate them all differently as needed#like how Jesus said sell all your belongings and give them to the poor#then the Bible tells how literally all of the early Christians sold all their possessions and donated the money#and now people say that just means to be generous#and then don’t even leave a tip at a restaurant because they hate handouts

"The spirit of pride in some people would rather exalt itself in its foolishness than be corrected. It would rather accuse of judgement than consider what God is saying through His servants. Correction is not judgement, wouldn't one rather be corrected than continue in that sin? Correction is not hate. Let us who do the corrections strive to glorify God in it, and in humility with patience share his truth with those who are ignorant. Let us who are in light and stronger in the faith, help those in the darkness, in weakness. Let us realize that we too are in the process of sanctification and not fall into pride either."

Found this “Repentance Prayer” while scrolling on TikTok and had to read it again. Go follow this beautiful young lady who shared this wonderful prayer. It is NEVER to late to come back to God or accept Him into your life for the first time ❤️
✨Back Story:
I was saved and accepted Jesus Christ with my mom at the age of 7 and was baptized. Dedicated my life to Him and when I hit around 17, I backslid and turned away from God and indulged in worldly things and sins. No matter how many times we mess up, God is merciful, patient, and forgiving and does not want to see his creation perish. He loves all of His children. I’m almost 30 years old and I’m still trying to get it right. Wake up and choose Jesus every time. I love you all and have a blessed and safe Sunday🫶🏽
This is the day that the Lord has made and I shall rejoice and be glad in it 🙌🏾
