I bet you probably assume God is out to get you. When in fact he isn't and he loves you.
Please don't let fear break your heart because God is a loving God.

k just looked up where the "demure" trend (?) came from and the original tiktok is very funny in an absurd way and very obviously tongue-in-cheek and that's because..... it was all coined by a trans woman. the misogynistic implications came later when the whole thing was coopted by cishet women influencers and brands and stuff but really her whole spiel was really funny and IRONIC. sad! ah well
#like it straight up sounds like it'd be a bit made by your favorite transfem tumblr mutual lmao it's not like. hashtag christian girl autumn#she's LITERALLY doing a bit. 😭😭😭😭unfortunately influencers are terminally whimsyless

The priest at church today said we should be mindful of who we allow to influence our daily lives and that we shouldn’t stop talking about God and worry about offending people
Lord, please help us choose the right influences and never stop talking about you

i know i just said goodnight but instagram reminded me that white usamerican christian influencers are the most annoying self absorbed entitled weirdos out there.
i fully understand praying for your class or for individual students but do it without telling the whole world, don't monetise it on your social media, maybe get consent from the kids and parents.
i know this kinda thing is deeply nuanced and often controversial but i also know that having your religion as part of your life is deeply and personally important AND that these sorts of posts are just subtle and unnecessary attempts to say that you've got some sort of moral high ground because of your beliefs and that your overstepping of boundaries and possible attempts for convert kids are all okay because it's in the name of religion
it's weird as hell and everyone knows that if a teacher of any other religion were to post the same things there would be uproar, the entitlement of white usamerican christians is wild and these kind of posts do nothing but harm others, mainly christians who can be normal and ppl with other beliefs who have to see this nonsense celebrated regularly
if i were a student in that class i would feel uncomfortable with my teacher bragging about and making money from praying for me. that prayer is no longer private, it's no longer between one person and god, now the whole world has been allowed in.
i have no issue with teachers praying for their students, i have no issue with anyone praying for anyone else, i have huge issues with turning those prayers into social media clout and financial gain. once you're making money from those prayers, they stop being genuine.
also what the fuck do you mean "his fragrance" and is this some new religion worshipping jeremy fragrance because if so then i'm down to join i've seen that freaks posts i think he's odd
#i appear to be tired enough to be a hater#and to have had my own personal issues with christianity reappear#whatever. fuck influencers forever and ever

yes I'm a Christian writer. Yes I'm a Christian artist. Yes I'm a Christian whatever--I'm so tired of people being like "I'm not a Christian ___, I'm actually a ______ who is Christian" what?!? No! Say the "Christian" part of my identification louder, it's the only part that matters.
I have been crucified with Christ, therefore it is no longer I who live! No longer I who put pen to paper! No longer I who type! No longer I who thinks and plans and practices and works and communicates--it's Christ who lives in me! He must increase! I must decrease!
If you're a Christian, knock that bogus worldly self-centered crap about "no I'm not part of the 'Christian genre' so I'm not a 'Christian whatever,' because I want to be taken seriously," off. Knock it off, shut up, get out of here with that.
Who cares if you're taken seriously? Who are you doing this for? For others? For Christ? Or just for you and your own credit and your own status? Get away from me with that. Ugh.
Anything you do in your life is supposed to be for Christ. You died. You said He was in charge of you from now on--You said He was the sum total of your identity, from now on. Did you mean it? Or did you mean, "everything except my special interests and career?" Of course not.
Anything you do in your life is supposed to be for Christ. That includes your art, your music, your hobby, your writing, your job. You should be so fortunate, so favored, to be called a "Christian" anything. You're not identifying with the "Christian genre," you're identifying with Christ. The word Christian doesn't mean "little Skillet" or "little Frank Peretti" or "little Dallas Jenkins." The word Christian means "little Christ."
You should be so fortunate to be called "Christian" anything, like the disciples were beside themselves with joy to be called "Christian" prisoners and "Christian" slaves. Because they got to be associated with Christ.
Get out of here. Honestly.

love like you / maternal pang
bonus under cut:
the first stephanie + the maternal pang tone destroyer i couldn't include bc it's a serious comic
#you might wanna zoom in for this one sorry#anyway i think putty likes orel. not enough to really get off his ass and help him but there's a fondness there#and i think his position of power relative to the rest of the town could be helpful in influencing things if he like. believed in them more#but he doesn't really expect any better from himself or the rest of moralton and i think it's because he doesn't really believe goodness is#attainable esp by christian/biblical standards. he thinks it's kind of a pretense for everyone. but then stephanie is good so what does tha#say about him? or moralton? i think he'd get a bit better with her around.#it'd make him insecure but she's an encouraging type so. maybe he'd get there eventually#we don't get to see much of that but eh. i think this show is hopeful at the end of the day. i don't think moralton WOULD change much but i#Could change a little. um. anyway that's what this comic is about lol#also im in love with stephanie. so.#moral orel#orel puppington#rod putty#reverend putty#stephanie putty#skrunkart#sorry if the models are kinda inconsistent i haven't drawn these fellers before#it's occurring to me that this is probably the longest comic i've posted on here? just by panel number anyway#which like. moral orel deserves it but that's kinda surprising because i've certainly made longer stuff before#but it's mostly oc stuff from like 3 years ago i never posted and don't really plan on posting#i guess i just tend to stick to gags or quick emotional punches and this is a more lengthy character exploration#which i tend to save for fics. but it's winter break so i've got the time. maybe that's it#this was supposed to be a quick thing where i got to draw stephanie what happened. anyway more moral orel stuff on the way but sheesh#this one kinda got away from me is all. but i like it :)#also full disclosure i forgot to go back and figure out stephanie's tattoos and i don't care enough to. sorry steph ily but im done#also btw i DO think most of moralton are true believers they're just like. assholes/hypocritical. they're godfearing but lazy when it comes#to ACTUALLY helping people (or otherwise let self interest get in the way leading to loopholes etc)#sorry i haven't written about the show before so the meta analysis/interpretation is leaking in#does moral orel have an abbreviation? it's a pretty short name so maybe not. i think moror would be cute :)#also i discovered i can do half-tones on firealpaca so i wanted to try it out :3

This is completely out of the blue but I figured it'd be a peaceful process making this. I'm practicing on his looks.

haghpat monastery in haghpat, armenia. the initial building was completed in 991 by medieval armenian king smbat II, and other structures were added later until the 13th century. its location was deliberately chosen to both be inconspicuous and overlook the nearby debed river.
this monastery was one of the locations featured in the 1969 film the color of pomegranates. the film follows the life of 18th century armenian poet sayat-nova, who at one point served in haghpat as a monk. he was also murdered there in 1795.
#armenia#architecture#interior#worship#christian#my posts#i always really liked how armenian churches are a happy medium between syriac and byzantine churches#almost as if the armenia was located in a geographic area where those two influences would converge 🤯

I think the word "puritan" is overused, especially in specific circles of people *gestures with elbow*, like I dont even think you understand how crazy puritans were. Yes there's a lot of sex negative stuff that needs to be fixed in our societies and yes a lot of that is also a result of Christian thinking, but some of what I've seen ppl refer to as "puritan" is ridiculous.
And unpopular opinion maybe but if you're a White person calling Black & Native ppl "puritans" when they express an opinion you dont like is actually kind of racist when you remember how horrific puritans were to Black & Native ppl
#you know what I DONT see? ppl making the connection of the Christian influence everywhere being bc of colonialism#why is that.
