Any Adam Driver movie that isn't on Netflix (House of Gucci, Annette, Paterson etc.) I have seen the Last Duel, Blackkklansman, This is where I leave you, Marriage Story, White Noise, Frances Ha and a few others). I know Ferarri is in theaters right now but I've kind of developed a phobia of theaters since 2020 :S

Fall of the House of Usher (I love Mike Flanagan's work but I'm still hooked on Midnight Mass and Daddy Father Prewitt)

Don't Look Up

Living in the Time of Dying (documentary on Youtube. It is HEAVY on existentialism and the science/data on the current state of climate change. This WILL ruin your day so I'm warning you now. Definitely don't watch it today. This really affected me and I cried for a long time after watching this but it is incredibly important to keep in mind.)

Blackkklansman (i had to watch this with the volume on the lowest setting bc of all the n words being dropped so frequently lmao but goddamn this was so good and funnier than i expected.)

DIMENSION 20: Burrow's End!!!!! As well as The Unsleeping City season 1. Neverafter and A Crown of Candy are probably at the lower end of the list but I still love them. (thank you to @rogueimperator for cluing me onto how amazing D20 and Dropout are. <3 this is a whole new world lol)

7. Christine and the Queens - Redcar les adorables étoiles Full show on Youtube. I was supposed to see him live in October but he got injured and had to cancel the rest of his tour :( but this album and the video are incredible! Slight warning for semi nudity.

8. Game Changer on Dropout. he's been here the whole time!

9. The 1975 live at Madison Square Garden. I was lucky enough to see them twice this tour with my twin sister and we had an absolutely amazing time. They always put on amazing shows and this particular tour/their latest album meant so much to us. Even our younger brother has come with us for some of these shows so it's something we all share. (Last time they came to Chicago in 2022 the venue was too small so they didn't have the House set with them so we didn't get to see it in action until this year) Sex and The Sound will always be the perfect closers for their shows and I get so emotional every time I hear them. Core memories for sure.

10. Puss in Boots: the last wish. this seems like another obvious answer that i probably could have left off but this gets an honorary mention because our family cat was diagnosed with advanced bone cancer in August, and we had to put him down very soon after that diagnosis. We spent an agonizing week tending to him and cherishing every last second we could get with him. I've been fortunate enough to never experience the death of a pet until this year, and i almost wish we didn't have any pets at all because I've never felt such excruciating grief. He was a fat, grumpy orange boy with beautiful yellow stripes and a little yellow mustache. I was trying to distract myself and found this movie on Netflix and watched it, then recommended it to my sister (who is actually Thomas's owner but we all shared him) though I warned her the movie did deal with themes on mortality. We all watched it together the night before his final vet visit and Tommy was there with us on a comfy pillow. I hope he approved of the movie, because now any time I think of Puss in Boots i think of him. <3

I could add more to this but my eyes are tired and I'm wired up from coffee. I know this is long as hell so sorry but I had fun making it! I'll probably keep coming back to this post in the future to cross out what I've watched.

Emily’s apartment was something.

Everything was modernized, and although Hecate perfected more rustic and urban housing, it had some charm to it.

They had learned so much about each other.

Hecate had learned that Emily was the captain of the cheerleading squad, along with being student council president and a teachers assistant, and Hecate shared that they designed and made fashion, along with being in the top five when it came to grades.

Emily shared that she was the only child of a widow, and Hecate shared that they were the middle child of a divorce.

Everything went well. Until Christel messaged them.

It was just a simple cat meme, something she knew would cheer them up probably,but Emily didn’t like it.

“Is she your crush?”

“N-no!”

“She is, isn’t she?” Emily scowled.

Hecate shrunk in their chair.

“I’m not mad baby. Just promise me you’ll put her on mute so we can keep getting to know each other.”

Hecate gulped. There was no way they could do it..

They set Christle to mute with a heavy heart.

Teleportation was hard to a place Christel hasn't been to. But teleporting to a place in which people she interacted with were present was not that hard.

Christel teleported away, Astrid in her arms. "Don't scream or shout, she just went to sleep" Was her first statement.

Currently the only one in the room she was in was Circe, who jumped but didn’t yell or shout. She was definitely more beat up looking then she had been a year ago when Christel last saw her. Christel squinted at the battle, it was dark as the theater was closed. She could vividly make out the wendigo pinning down the joker in a threatening manner and joker just grinning to much for her liking.

"Hecate you seeing the shit?" She muttered as she finally saw Batman Vs Bane take place as Batman tries to calm bane before bane kills both the wendigo and the joker.

A YA Fantasy Series You've Got to Read!

THE MIRROR VISITOR by Christelle Dabos

I stumbled upon this book series last year. And I just finished the third book and oh my God, I love this entire series so, so much. From impeccable world-building to incredible characters, from romance to adventure. This series is incredible. Written by Christelle Dabos, The Mirror Visitor is a French YA fantasy series like no other. I obviously own the translated to English version by Hildegard Serle.

It follows the story of Ophelia who can see the past of any inanimate object and can walk through mirrors. She's arranged to marry Thorn for some political thing. She moves from Anima, her home ark, to the distant ark of the Pole. And then a lot of stuff happens to her. I mean a lot!

I'm going to tell y'all what I liked and disliked about the series so you can decide whether it's for you.

Pros:

The World-building: It's simply incredible. The 'political' system and the architecture is so detailed that you can picture everything. Fairly so, because of how everything in this world has a life of its own. The architecture and the power system is integrated into the story. It's wonderfully done.

The Characters: Even though the characters, all of them, are clearly the same as we've often seen in books like these, there's a certain charm to the ones in these books that really make you feel connected to them. They've depth and personalities and stories.

The Romance: Now this is absolutely a personal opinion. But I really, really enjoyed the romance between Ophelia and Thorn. It was a really slow-burn romance and when I say slow-burn, it was sloooow! Lemme tell you why I think that's a good thing. It really let Ophelia (the main character) develop as a character on her own. Really let her work out her problems and in return, it showed us how resilient and resourceful she actually is. And when they do get together, it seems like the romance was earned and not just thrown in our faces.

Cons:

It's Complex: This series is NOT for beginner fantasy readers. The world is very intricate and there's a lot of things that might confuse you if you're just getting into fantasy. It's a very slow-paced book and it might be off-putting to some people.

The Romance: LOL. For me, it was really good. But I can see how a lot of people can find it too slow for their liking because we've been so used to getting into head-first romance.

Final Verdict:

I love it and I hope more people find it worth their time and energy. I have fallen in love with the world and it's characters and the story.

And if any of you have read something like this then please leave your recommendations.
