G. S. Kerner
I wanted to write last night, but I preferred studying and sleeping instead - And this preferred activity from last night would’ve not happened if it wasn’t for the name mentioned in the title of this article.  Gabriele Susanne Kerner A.K.A. Nena. I’d start from 2016 onward because that was when it happened and it gradually started to influence my life - In a good way! So, Nena is a German singer, who sings mainly in the German Language. She had her glory days in the 80s being the lead singer of a band with the same name, “Nena”, and later saw the light of international fame with the song “99 Luftballons/99 Red Balloons”. In Germany, she is still a musical gem after all these years.  In 2002, she came out with a re-visited greatest hits album called “Nena feat. Nena” in which she re-sung her songs mainly from the 80s in fresher arrangements. This album re-kicked her career as an artist and since then, there is no stopping her. In this very same album, Nena covered her song from 1985, “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwand” with Kim Wilde, by making it a single called “Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime”. Partially English, partially German - Naturally Wilde getting the English parts and Nena in German.  So, it was in 2016, when a Roxette fan from Germany sent me a link to “Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime” and got me grabbed me in this magical aura which I didn’t know would lead to a day like today. Kim Wild’s English part’s were nothing compared to the parts in German - so much depth, tenderness and logic, all at the same time? And I didn’t even know what was being sung.  It was later in 2017, when I started to get more into the music of Nena, started blushing on listening to the German language (because it is too sexy and cute), gave up learning Swedish and long story short - I can now understand German. It was because of Nena songs, I learned to pick the words, remember them with a melody, with a story and that ultimately lead in proper German language education.  It all started off because a Roxette fan from Germany sent a link to a four and a half minute song. And that fan gradually became my Guru - with music, with the language.... And, well, simply a source of wisdom!  So, what happened, it’s all Chrissie’s fault!!! Chrissie would put it “It’s all Per’s fault”, which is technically correct - if it wasn’t for Gessle, I would’ve not known Chrissie, if I would’ve not known Chrissie, then there would’ve been no Nena music to get inspired from.  I still don’t have a good answer to tell why am I learning German - simply because I love it? Simply because I heard a Nena song?  But well, I badly needed a new artist to be inspired by, and now I have one! Nena turned 59 yesterday, and this little article is just to reminisce the memory of a lot of wonderful experiences and (hopefully) experiences to come.  Thanks Chrissie! Thanks Nena! Happy 59th Birthday! Love and Peace 24/3/2019

Some Nena, Please?
After writing yesterday’s article, I realised that even Nena > The Beatles for me now. I don’t know many many songs by her, and I absolutely don’t love every song she has ever come up with - her catalogue has a lot of bad songs (or songs which are not according to my choice) - but still, I love her music! I love her language even more.
And 5 mins back, I also decided that one day, I’d write an article here in German. I’ll share the translation below too, don’t worry! But let’s see, when does that day come.
I planned to listen to Mono Mind - that didn’t happen till now. I just hope to listen to it before February ends. Fingers crossed.
So, back in 2011, I watched a few interviews of Roxette which were completely in Swedish without subtitles. I felt left out and completely dumb. I just saw Marie and Per’s expression to understand what they’re trying to say. Instantly, I decided to learn Swedish. There wasn’t a lot of success there because of a certain reasons, but I tried anyway!
Here is a bit of information: I’m studying German properly. And I feel that’s completely out of the love of language which became super stong because of a Nena song, because of.... Chrissie sharing it!
Anyway, I wateched a few random short interviews of Nena today, just to see if I can understand more than I understood Per and Marie in Swedish - and I did. Not completely, no not at all - but I understood enough to know what she was saying there. And I’m very happy about it, a little bit proud of myself too.
I’ll take my time! I’m definitely young but my brain isn’t as sharp in picking vocabulary like it was before - it’s more logic oriented in my understanding, and it will take a lot of time! So, I’m ready!
Wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Per and Marie, that’s for sure!
Love and Peace

That German Guru!
Let’s break a little rule today by having 2 posts under the same date.
Why?
Because it Chrissie’s birthday, that’s why!!
This woman turned awesome years old today and that’s important!!!
She is German, so naturally she knows the German language. She writes with her left hand which makes her extra EXTRA cool. She has a great understanding of music and she is one of the biggest Roxette fans who have been following them since the past 29 years! Do I need more points to explain this woman’s awesomeness?
What? Yes? Really? Right!
OK, she gives wise and reasonable advises. She is partly responsible for making me learn the German language! She’d even send Nena related stuff to you, because it’s her “fault”! And, it’s not just RXB who said that PG’s Roxette’s concerts were nice - Chrissie also believes the same. Not as exaggerated, but she still admits that the gigs were awesome!
And she also likes the devil, only when he looks like Tom Ellis! #LuciFan! No, not kidding!
One of the best people I got to know thanks to this Swedish pop band called Roxette - She’s my dear friend, but I call her my Guru - because she is!
Alles gute zum Geburtstag!
Love and Peace

PG’s Roxette - Gig # 3 - Hamburg
I was hyped up about the Hamburg gig before it happened, and i’m still hyped up about it 3 days after it happened! Yes, I can’t get enough of the positivity which is all over the place after this particular gig.  Both TDR and RXB have gone completely gaga over their experience and that is what I was expecting. A seated gig gone completely ROXED!! Hells yeah! Kai-Uwe wrote a wonderful wonderful article about how the gig was and how each and everything fits in like that of a Director’s Cut version of a film! Couldn’t really explain that in better words - Bravo TDR! Kai-Uwe, you just made me miss Stevo less!  http://www.dailyroxette.com/hamburg-roxette-directors-cut/ And then came PP with her report which was also pouring some super excitement which she maintains really well. But somehow, the first line of this report: “Hamburg, Germany, the best show so far on tour!“ sealed it with Rox-love in Germany!  http://roxetteblog.com/2018/10/13/per-gessles-roxette-hamburg-germany-11th-october-2018-3/ Till now in my observation, Hamburg hosted the most fans from here and there, and it keeps the status like Borgholm was last year in 2017. So many fans met up before the gig, so many got a chance to meet Per and get pictures with him - And yes, Gessle was seen in Flamingos too! Fashion! Haha! There was Chrissie, Gaby and Daniel, Basia, Kai-Uwe, PP, (and I’m sure Sandra was there too), Valeria, Alexandra, hmmm was Jana there? The one who had a Rox car........ Oh my, I just realized that I barely mention the Roxers now! Times have changed? But when you see so many together, you realize that Roxette has been a permanent imprint in the lives of it’s fans - and it’s absoultely beautiful! It seems that keeping “The Look” as the starting song has been a very successful idea and made everyone want to join the joyride.  But Sweet Hello, Sad Goodbye has been criticized whatsoever!  Sadly, no “Finest Prize” and no “Silver Blue”. And “Doesn’t Make Sense” has become one hell of a crazy party on stage! Who would’ve thought? Right? Helena is getting more and more applause and that’s also something to smile on!  So, Hamburg happened, and it’s happened better than expectations! Brussels have happened too? And London on its way! Tomorrow then! Love and Peace 14/10/2018

Lefties, für euch!
Today is world leftie day! And truly, the people with a strong left hand deserve this day! Right hand people take everything for granted and I realised this a while back after being told about many everyday problems a leftie has to go through!
To all the Roxer lefties: Happy Leftie day!
I’m now gonna mention the cutest leftie of all time: MICKE SYD AAAAAAAA.....NDERSSON.......!!!! He’s hot all over again btw, and the Swedish media also considers this super awesome *wink*
And one more guy from Gyllene Tider is a leftie, if I’m not wrong? Per, MP, Anders all play the guitar with their right hand. Is it Göran?
Anyway! I also found out a list which told that the most brilliant people of all time are all lefties! Be it art, music, film, politics, science or sports - they’re lefties! Lefties are special people, and legendary in their own ways! Some find out, some don’t know yet!
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - half of the Beatles were lefties.
David Bowie! Bob Dylan! Annie Lennox! Kurt Cobain! Jimi Hendrix! These are just a few names in music!
The world owes a lot to these lefties!
And did I mention Kirsten Ohlwein is also a leftie? Yes, Kiwein, who used to write for RoxetteBlog!
And of course, another awesome German is a leftie. Not Nena, nope! She’s not a leftie unfortunately. But the leftie I’m talking about is most definitely a hard core Roxer - THE Chrissie, if you must!
Gessle and Fredriksson are also not lefties - so, don’t worry all you fellow right Hander’s, the whole duty of being awesome isn’t completely for the lefties, there are just a handful who write with their right hand!
So, one more time for:
MICKE
SYD
ANDERSSON
AAAAAAA......!!!
Love and Peace

Happy Women’s day, Women!
Women’s day!
One hears a lot that “everyday is a women’s day, why celebrate only one day?”. My concern is why don’t you enjoy such special days and be a part of making a woman feel beautiful. Women love to feel beautiful, important and... Loved.
Women love to love and love to be loved.
And no matter what, a women understands “love” better than a man. I’m not saying men don’t understand love - no not at all, men are pretty sensitive too, sometimes more than women - but somehow love is still something which a woman can feel closer and in understanding it’s depth.
Happy women’s day. Everyone of you is beautiful.
Too many women inspire me, while I admire too many. Some famous, mostly regular.
Happy women’s day Dolores. You’re missed A LOT, you know? It’s too hard to listen to your voice now - the same voice which was a voice to the thoughts of many women out there.
Happy women’s day Marie. Your one of the strongest women who is not just a warrior, but a beautiful soul with colourful ideas and admirable methods. You are one hell of an inspiration dearest Marie.
And Nena. Happy women’s day Nena.
To so many of the women Roxette fans from all over the world, with their experiences and power of expression. Absolutely wonderful.
Happy women’s day Chrissie, Maew, Kiwein, Anne, Anya, Basia, Jana, Karin, Dag, Sabine, Tina, Melanie, PP, Judith, Sandra, Magda, Catherine... and everyone! You are inspirational absolutely admirable in your own ways. Each and everyone of you is an institution.
Love and Peace

No Need to Argue - Helena
Helena Josefsson won my heart again today.
Dolores passing away is also hard for her.
If you ever get a chance, listen to the version Helena sang of “Zombie” - soft initially and then she picked up the song strength with her well balanced vocals. It’s on YouTube - very accessible.
And now today, with a little story, she told how important Dolores’s music was to her and how she admired the music of The Cranberries. Come to think of it, sometimes she did sound a little like Dolores in a few Gessle songs on “Son of a Plumber”.
Today, she shared a little cover she made of The Cranberries’ song “No need to argue” on her Facebook page, and it is absolutely heart touching. You can actually feel that Helena sang the song with all her heart.
Here is the link:
https://www.facebook.com/HelenaJosefssonOfficial/videos/10156770796101754/
“You’ll always be, special to me... to me”.
Thanks Chrissie for sharing the link, I probably would’ve missed it out.
Love and Peace

To the Three
It’s a beautiful day filled with proud achievements. Let me give three names:
- PP
- Chrissie
- Basia
Now these 3 names have impressed me way before I knew who they are. Don’t believe me? Check out old archives of this blog if you have way too much time to spare.
Today, it’s the 5th anniversary of the day PP became a part of the RoxetteBlog team, and boy did Judith, Kiwien, Tomasz and Sascha finally had a star at the top the Christmas tree.
(If it wasn’t for PP, RXB might’ve became TDR (rather TOR - The Occasional Roxette).
Now, Chrissie needs no introduction. Scroll 6 days back and you’ll get to know about her charm. It has been a nice 24 hour for her since she won the 2nd position in TDRs competition for the top “En vacker kväll” tour photo. Bravo - Yayyyy!!!
Basia! I’d simply call her a walking talking plus sign. Even serious stuff from her emits positive energy. Now Basia also secured a Bronze medal by making a high energy photo which the TDR team also found to be super cool.
Isn’t it amazing? Yes indeed it is!
(I’ve realised they all know some fine German too, wow!)
Congratulation to you all. You’ve made so many of us really proud, you know? Keep up being so awesome!
Congrats to Lukasz too! Yayy!
Here’s the TDR link: http://www.dailyroxette.com/and-the-winners-are-3/

Frau Röhrs
When Roxette got recognition in 1989 with their song “The Look”, many people became their fan and this also includes a teenage girl in Germany. Years after the release of “The Look”, this same girl was enjoying a Per Gessle concert this summer with the same smile she had when Roxette was at the top.
Yes, she is a Roxer for life.
If you wanna know who she is, then simply find the smartest comment on some post in Roxette Official. And believe me when I say this - she knows everything about the band, and this includes the Swedish language.
But that’s her Roxer side.
What you don’t know is how much she knows about pop music overall. At times I feel like there isn’t a pop song from the 80s or the 90s or even the early 2000s which she doesn’t know about.
But that’s her musical side.
She says she’s an immature photographer. I’d say that she can even find some beauty worth capturing in dry grass. Ask her about spring, she’ll explain it in a way that you’d start imagining chirping birds, green trees and blossoming flowers.
But that’s her artistic side.
She’s kind, and wise, and funny, and full of experiences which makes the crazy in you seem like a normal thing. And if you ask her something, she’s gonna give her opinion in such a way that you’d know what you want to do next.
She’s my pop dictionary, my German language google, my spirit booster - this All Star Converse loving leftie friend who I look up to very very much.
I’d like to call her “The Chrissie”, but she’s OK without the “The”, no worries.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Grattis på födelsedagen!
Happy Birthday Chrissie!
Love and Peace

“En vacker dag” in the Car
I read this somewhere today: “Did you say Exercise? I thought you said ‘extra fries’”. Haha, nice, isn’t it?
Anyway, today what I did was something which I should’ve done a month back, but due to some uncertainties, I was unable to do it.
I prefer putting a CD in my car stereo instead of an input cable to connect it with a phone or iPod. Or even radio, because if only plays new stuff and made me hum Taylor Swift’s new song, which isn’t good, at all.
Ohhh noooo..... NOOOOOO......!!!! It’s back again!
🎶 Ooo, look what you made me do, look what you made me do..... 🎶
Ah! I’ll work on it, I promise.
Anyway, so, after a 2 month dose of “Something Else” by The Cranberries, guess which album made its way to the car CD player?
1
2
3
YES!!!!
En vacker dag!
And lazy as I am, I’m sure it won’t be changed till The Corrs’ “Jupiter Calling” gets delivered to my place (only if it would).
So my experience with the album, sitting in the car was completely different. It sounded so.... intimate. And precious. Probably because I kind of had a slight idea what was being sung in the songs. Or my own perception was making me smile. Or maybe the translation was done beautifully (Thank you!).
I just got to hear it once, just sitting in the car, waiting for someone, not even driving, and it was evening time. 30 mins passed like *snap*.
“En vacker dag” puts a beautiful first impression, let’s see how it sounds when the sun is shining, or when the car is being driven. But honestly, listening to it when the heart and brain are both synchronised together, is a better option, and they’re not together all the time like that, are they?
Love and Peace

“En vacker dag” Made Easy (In English)
I wrote 2 lines yesterday, then I slept - Lamp on, Music on (En vacker dag - all-night-long). I remember waking up some 3-4 times in between the little time I get to sleep, grabbing my iPad to write some more before sandman comes again.  I even remember writing in my dream.  Oh my my Roxette Diaries, you’re so important *sigh*.  Yesterday’s article required some effort, and maybe that is why I couldn’t keep up the pace. And now when the sun is up, the brain will work in a different way (hopefully) - More logical, less emotional and slightly grumpy on a Monday.  Let me first start off with a thank you note for the hero of Saturday: Thank you Chrissie! You-are-brilliant! Why is she the hero of Saturday, you ask? She has 8 Swedish songs in front of her and she translates them so that others can understand what they say.  And you know what? Her native language is German, not Swedish.  And you know what? She translates them in English, not German.  Brilliant, right? The translations made me feel closer to the songs. They’re a bunch of sweet, smart, emotional and personalized set of sentences which makes you realize that the song melody isn’t everything.  For example: - Once you get to know what “Fyrklöver” is , you can’t help but smile like in a fairyland.  - Once you get to know what Lienna is singing in “Känns som första gången”, you can’t help but praise Gessle’s imagination.  - Once you get to know what is being sung in “Parentes”, you can’t help but realize how multi-dimentional a song can get.  - Once you get to know the feel behind “Känn dej som hemma”, you realize that Per custom made this song for Marie. “En vacker dag” gives a nice first impression and I now admit that “En vacker natt” has been stronger, if I really must compare. But if you want to like “En vacker dag” slightly more, I’d say read the translations. They’re “vacker”.  So yes, this article was for Sunday, written on Monday which isn’t really a fun day, but oh well. I wish you a nice Monday anyway.  Love and Peace 8/10/2017

Happy 4th Roxette Diaries
Happy Birthday my dear Roxette Diaries. It was a random attempt to start you, and I had no idea that after 4 years, you'd still be updated everyday. It didn't even start off to be this way, but well, there you are - 1443 articles, related to this magical Swedish duo, one way or the other, and there still are hundreds of other articles which can be written. Yes, I do admit that sometimes it's very frustrating to write, and sometimes its all non sense, but well, thanks for being there anyway. Nothing special, but still you kind of made my wish to become a writer very true. And hey, I don't really plan on giving a writing pause here, so please, yeah? Thanks Maew and Gesslecarhead for that like each day to keep it going on. Thanks Chrissie for being such a major motivation fuel. Thanks to anyone who came across it and gave it a read. I hope to see you tomorrow now. Love and Peace 14/9/2017

Sharing Choices
It's so hard to be positive and happy in front of the people you love so that they don't worry about you, when from the inside, you're fighting with your own troubles. I'm no exception, it happens to everyone. But does it make you a hypocrite? Does it make you a liar when you say "everything is fine"? Anyway, I heard some really really amazing songs today and I was amazed at how there are so many beautiful songs which have been unheard by so many out there. One must always ask for a list of songs from friends, because: - you get to listen to a different musical approach - you get to listen to songs which you might've never heard if it wasn't for them - you get to listen to a jumble of different stuff, which makes a beautiful combination I got a list of songs, which I guess I was given in 2015 and I finally got a chance to listen to it. There were many brilliant songs in that list which has no Roxette, Per Gessle, Marie Fredriksson or Gyllene Tider, but it did have Eskobar, Annie Lennox, Sheryl Crow, Robyn, Fleetwood Mac, Katie Meula and a few others. (Katie Meula is new to me, and she's wonderful). Annie Lennox is an artist who always reminds me of Marie Fredriksson. Obviously!!! The list had Annie's songs "I Put a spell on you" and "You belong to me" which were from her album "Nostalgia". The album, as the name tells, is kind of a selection of songs which Annie Lennox covered, which she heard in the past and probably heard growing up. It's kind of like listening to Annie's musical choice, in her voice. Marie Fredriksson, in 2006, came out with an album called "Min bästa vän" (my best friends) which was a collection of songs Marie grew up listening. She called those songs her "best friends". Isn't it beautiful? If it wasn't for Marie, I'm sure we would've never heard those "best friend" songs in our lives. Because of Marie, we got to listen to amazing songs which would've been unheard. It's always amazing to listen to someone else's choice. And our favourite artists are not afraid to share their favourites. Best band ever, right? Thanks Chrissie R. for sharing your amazing music choice. Well, obviously, if someone's favourite band is Roxette, would their music choice naturally be amazing and trustworthy? Love and Peace 28/2/2017

Hey Chrissie, How are You?
And here it is to a Roxer woman who knows each and everything about Roxette. If she doesn't know, it means it didn't happen in the world of Roxette. She's fun, kind and has a really positive attitude towards life. She takes photographs which capture beauty in a way which can't be seen in the instant look. If you compile the photos she took, you can have a really nice calendar - yes, they're that good. If you ever ask her to explain anything, trust me, you'll feel like you're reading a magazine column written by a really interesting writer. Music - old, new, really old, really new, she knows about them all. Really new music maybe not so much, because she has a really classy taste in music, and anyone with such a taste can't really take the new stuff which they call "music" now a days. And a really fantastic thing about her is her wit. Oh, the way she can make something funny in her own awesome and honest ways. She has a big heart which sees the positive in things, and explains the negative in a way that it seems positive as well. I admire her very much, and because of her, I constantly get motivation for this diary. She's always ready to help, always ready to explain what's asked, and oh yeah, did I tell that if you need to listen to some good music, you can ask her to suggest you something? Thanks for being so awesomely fantastic Chrissie. Happy Birthday. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag. Love and Peace 11/12/2016

3 Years
And it has been 3 years.
Happy Birthday Roxette Diaries.
Its stupid, but I have learned so much from this blog, and literally have grown to maturity with it. I didn’t even have a job when I started writing, and now, I barely have time.
The biggest thing I’ve learned from this blog is consistency. No matter what, I just have to write and have to relate that to a musical band I absolutely adore.
I always wanted to be a writer, but I didn’t have “the” skill to do that. Here, I can be who I am, with incorrect grammar, with a crazy punctuation, with meaningless sentences and a weird approach, with feelings and experiences I can’t share with the people around, I mean, it’s a wonderful platform.
2016 has been really hectic for me, but every night before I went to sleep, I just wrote something because it’s important to me. Not just that, at times, I didn’t wanted to write, I didn’t have any idea on what to write about or thoughts so crazy that they are too stupid, but I never thought to quit writing here.
It’s crazy, but people don’t even “like” my tweets or random statuses, because they’re not worth it. Even with this blog, less than 10 people read it, but I write because I want to, and at times, I write for them, a motivation that those people are going to read it at least.
Whenever I get praised, the next few days automatically go good for me over all. Whenever someone tells that to me, I can’t stop smiling and trust me, it’s a really beautiful feeling.
Roxette Diaries probably has made me more confident in life as well, it has taught me to be both spontaneous and be a better planner for rainy days.
It has introduced me to some of the most wonderful people I ever came across, “celebrities” for me, honestly.
There are so many thoughts and feelings I have right now, but I hope to share them on the fourteenth of September, 2017.
There are 3 people I want to thank by their names:
Maew, for liking the post every morning. You have no idea how crazily I wait for your like each day. Thank you for sticking with me since a long long time.
Chrissie, for your views, your “pat on the back” kind of words and for your comments. Your approach makes me think in different innovative dimensions. Thank you so much for your support.
Dag, for your random bits of information, your corrections and for your ideas which makes me research some more. Thank you for being there.
2 more people who I don’t know, but their tumblr names are: xrouge2014 and jutze, thanks guys, your random comments and likes mean a lot. Just thought you all should know.
God bless you all. Thank you.
Love and Peace 14/9/2016

Signature Indeed
I was feeling very gloomy with no new update on the RXB and TDR untill I got online to see them on both the sites just now.   TDR's Kai said: You can never have enough autographs, can you? So if you still should have unsigned items in your fan collection (shame on you) this is your last chance in this year to solve this very problem. Thankfully in October, I finally got some things which are signed by His Majesty Per Gessle. Otherwise I would have been embarrassed as well as really miserable, but being in Sweden is a little out of question this year. But the next year is just 20 Days away (which is equally depressing).  I just realized i'm blank again.  OK, let me just continue with the thing I started above and then go to bed.  In October, I got my signed books and archives box because I started to earn and was able to treat myself with this super gift. I wonder how many must be out there who probably love Roxette more then many of us, but they don't have anything super in their Roxette collection. What if they didn't even attend any of their gigs? Probably because i've been there for a long time, that is why i know the feeling of those fans. I'm sure South America and probably Asia and Africa is filled with such fans as well. Don't know. Somewhere in Russia, there were times when before the gig, people would sell photos of Per and Marie with their fake signatures on, and fans bought it because they thought they have been through their musical idols, and it is something worth keeping (the original, yes indeed it is a property for a Roxer). (I can't write or think no more, my head is spinning like a Mary-Go-Round) (Ref: Love Spins - Gessle's words) Have an awesome Friday. PS: Happy Birthday CR. Thank you for your support, your views and most of all, your humor. Have an awesome one. Love and Peace 11/12/2014
