SAVE THIS ONE. 🌱
Chlorophyll is on the top of the list when it comes to disease-fighting micronutrients.
What is chlorophyll?
CHLOROPHYLL is the compound in plants that is responsible for their green color. It also helps plants absorb energy from the sun (photosynthesis).
Why is Chlorophyll so important?
When we metabolize this powerful micronutrient from green foods it helps to cleanse our blood by separating our red blood cells, making our blood more free-flowing much like water (alkaline) instead of sluggish (acidic). When our blood is more fluid it can flow easily. In addition, chlorophyll oxygenates our blood which alkalizes our blood, tissues, and body. This is the healthy, healing environment we want to strive for. This is especially important for those diagnosed with cancer.
More oxygen (less inflammation)
= Alkaline (less acidity)
= Healthy, healing environment

A close up look at DNA extraction from Medicago leaves ☘️. The small plastic tube I’m holding shows 3 distinct layers. The tube contains pulverised frozen leaf tissue mixed with CTAB buffer and chloroform. This chemical mixture causes 3 distinct layers to form in the tube based on their density. The dissolved DNA is in the upper layer (the least dense) where I can collect it and transfer it to a new tube for further purification with isopropanol and ethanol.

Finally finalized a design that I like for my Faerie Wildfire Druid,: meet Chlorophyll, a through and through pyromaniac. Pastel goth apparently is a perfect aesthetic for her. Think I made a bit of a blunder having two of her four arms behind her, since it doesn't really show off that she has four arms, but… y'know. Was thinking i was going to paint her fire spirit summon into this buuuuut we'll see if I ever come back to it.

Meet your GREENS!
Welcome to Cool Colours V and in this article, we shall meet English words for green that derive from Greek and Latin. So, let's meet the Greens.
Is your garden looking more viridescent as we move towards Spring? Or might your add a touch of viridian to your living room, dining room, or wherever? Or, do you show your viridity when playing Bridge against your seasoned pal? All these lovely words come from the Latin for green, which is viridis. The word means green, both in the sense of the colour and also of inexperience. If you are new to an activity, game, or sport, you can be said to be somewhat green. It can also mean in the sense of youthful, vigorous, or fresh. 'Green is life and life is green', as the charming little colour figure sings in CBeebies program Colourblocks (my toddler's a fan!).
Now, if you have a friend called Chloe, you can tell her that her name means fresh young shoot, in the sense of a new spring plant, and a green one at that. Chloe comes from the Greek χλόη, which refers to the first green shoots of spring. It is a very sweet name, indeed, The Greek words for the colour green is related word χλωρός. It is from this word that we get the term chlorophyll, the chemical that makes plants green. The 'chloro-' part means green, and '-phyll' comes from the Greek φύλλον meaning leaf. Cool, right? A green leaf with chlorophyll is a green leaf with green leaf chemical.
On a less fresh and green note, another word that χλωρός yielded is chlorine, the malodorous halogen that disinfects swimming pools. The gas it gives off is, you guessed it green, and toxic. So...green is most certainly not life in this instance.
From Spring to toxic gases, our words for green find significant origin and illumination in the Classics.
I hope this article 'CHLORS' that up. (Definitely getting coat...)

This is especially important for those with inflammatory, acidic diseases like cancer. Chlorophyll not only cleanses the blood, but it also makes it easier for oxygen to get to your tissues. This will help keep inflammation at bay and support cell health, keeping your body in a balanced, healed (alkaline) state. Eat or drink your leafy greens! 🥬
