I was watching Descendants 2 and I had a thought…

What if? Chad gave little Chloe his unfinished action figure as a joke but Chloe kept it because it was her big brother who gave it to her.

Years later, Red finds it while snooping in Chloe’s room and immediately questions why she has a beheaded figure of her brother.

I heard mogan say this in an interview and I thought it was interesting to think about so here's a quick rant about Ella. So like Morgan was being asked about tge characters she plays (Ella if you some how didn’t get that from the beginning) and she mentions how Ella feels very much more like a teenager in the film, and I have to agree with that. She's very much more grounded, and blunt in the way you'd expect from someone who's realized just how shitty life can be. A trait that she shares with Red, who is another character who grew up poorly and tended to see things through a more jaded lens.

She also goes on to say that she thinks that because Ella didn’t have the best life growing up she channels all that energy into a protectiveness, and like I just don't feel like that's talked about enough because it's my favorite part of her character. Like throughout the story you hear Ella talk about her disdain for royalty and how Bridget is different, and how she's the strongest person she knows, and I just find that so interesting, because that protectiveness stems from a kind of selfishness in a way. She wants to keep Bridget safe because she doesn't want to have to believe that all of the world is this cruel. She wants to believe that if someone like Bridget can exist then there has to be good somewhere.

Bridget reminds her that there's good in the world, that maybe if you shine your light on the world, the world could shine back. And even if she doesn't completely believe that she's willing to protect Bridget’s light with her life because right now it's the only one she has. The only proof she has of good people existing, so yeah in Ella’s eyes she is different, and for not letting her light go out for all this time she is really strong, and Ella wants to protect her from the world's cruelty for as long as possible, and she does the same thing with Chloe decades later. She has this pattern of shielding the people she loves from all that's bad in the world (to the best of her ability) that she doesn't exactly know how to teach them to protect themselves. I.e Chloe’s naivety when she apologized to Lady Tremaine and Bridget falling for the prank. I don't know, I just feel like the people around Ella tend to become too reliant on her and it's really interesting because there's this fierce loyalty in Ella’s character that seems despite everything to never be enough.

I’m drawing Shane farming to enter a contest that happening at a local art gallery near me.

It’s perfect because my community is REALLY into farming.

And so Shane amongst the leaves of a field farming would be absolutely ADORABLE.

I think Shane would be absolutely embarrassed and mortified that his portrait would be on display for everyone to see. 🙈💕

But I’m also so excited that my community is forced to appreciate Shane this way. ✨

The biggest problem with having to wait for Chloe to reappear in the manga - especially after her last chapter was so impactful - is that my brain’s going wild thinking up character dynamics and backstory details in the meantime.

I’m terrified that once Endo brings her back, he’ll give her some kind of wacky personality trait that’ll destroy all the good I’ve built up in my mind 💀

Please Endo, please. Just let her stay cool.

miraculous spoilers under the cut

so, y’all mean to tell me that felix, the dude who WILLINGLY worked with a terrorist, harassed ladybug, manipulated his “darling” cousin, knows that his uncle is a terrorist, and that his aunt is dead in a basement, can be redeemed because he had two angsty scenes with sentimonsters and his dad is a piece of shit, but lila and chloe are irredeemable monsters who are unlovable, and they are pure evil even though they have the almost exact same writing as felix? feminism my ass

and before some of y’all come in with nathalie, that is ONE female character that was redeemed (and had a shitty redemption). we still have audrey and andre, who the latter gets redeemed even though he ACTIVELY abused and neglected chloe. then we have gabriel, who was an active abuser who can get redeemed, but sure, bring up ONE redeemed female go try and disprove my point that miraculous is actively misogynistic and isn’t the feminist-inclusive show it claims to be.

Adding on because of my tism brain, it’s not even like I’m mad that Chloé isn’t being redeemed. I can live with the villain or whatever they’re trying to go with Chloé and Lila, but it’s just really odd that He Who Shall Not Be Named, will say that characters who do xyz actions cannot be redeemed, but redeems two male characters who have done said actions, while demonizing two female characters.

I could even live with the Felix redemption if his actions weren’t as horrible as they are, but I cannot change have canon. Some one rip this show from my hands before I actually lose my mind (it’s been seven fucking years)

Writing Courting a Salamandrian has made me create a new little unlikely friendship:

Kintaro (or Pugtaro) and Chloe (Leo's tea buddy).

The fanfic takes place a couple of years after S5, so like the Turtles who are now adults, Kintaro and Chloe are now teenagers and the two share a cute moment together in the fic, so now I kinda ship it???

In defense of Chloé Bourgeois

Just finished season 5 of Miraculous and it just reminded me why I absolutely love this series. The last few episodes got me feeling so bad for Chloe.

Chloe was obviously never the nicest person in Miraculous but I still say she is a good person at heart and definitely not nearly as manipulative and horrible as Lila (cannot stand Lila AT ALL but I suppose that's the point). After "overthrowing" her father as mayor and failing at it, she is being berated by her mother on the plane back to New York (that's where I assume they're going) and rushes away from her in anger.

At first, she goes to try to call Sabrina (who, because of Lila, she is no longer good terms with)

Sabrina was always the closest Chloe had to having someone in her life who geniuely cared about her. Her mother is clearly selfish and cares more about herself than being the supportive mother Chloe deserves. Her dad at least seems a lot more caring though and him finally putting his foot down in not letting Chloe get her way all the time is really the first step in helping Chloe. It breaks my heart that Chloe wanted to reach out to Sabrina and the fact that she considered this at all, shows that despite her stubbornness, Chloe still wants to change.

She instead calls Marinette trying to win one over on her telling her that Adrien left for London, something that Marinette had already found out from Adrien himself and already upset by it, Marinette puts her in her place. Even though I understand Marinette's disdain, I still can't help but feel she was a little too harsh with Chloe. Chloe just breaking down and crying instead of getting all "whatever" and mad after Marinette hangs up on her just shows that Chloe knows she really messed up this time and I believe this could be what she needed to finally change herself for the better.

I know that the friendship Chloe has with Sabrina is important to her, why else would she try to reach out to her but feel like she doesn't deserve Sabrina's friendship after all that she's done?
