If you don’t mind the questions, how’d the Tortuga gang react to Chris tagging along? I assume they understood Chris would be joining them early on into Martin being accepted, but I imagine the situation was more like. Martin snagging a new job on the Tortuga >> realizing he can’t take this job and leave his brother alone >> Chris says don’t worry just take me with you >> Martin nervously asking heyyyyyyyy is it cool if my little brother comes with?

Obviously everyone had to be cool with it eventually, but do you know what Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy had going through their heads when a mildly emo, 14yo Chris rolled in with a deeply anxiety-ridden Martin?

This is kinda the awkward phase of the team's relationship where they know Martin is struggling, but he's not willing to let them help just yet.

The second Chris finds out about the Tortuga it becomes his life-mission to convince Martin to let him go on the trip (it will not be difficult at all to convince him)

Martin is just hesitant because he wants to make sure he's not being selfish in his decision to join the team. Of course Chris wants to go too, but Martin is trying to think of his best interest.

Of course, he eventually realizes that the team genuinely cares about them and he's willing to let them help out with Chris, and then the found-family can commence!!!

For your childhood friends au, how do you see the relationship between Jason and Danny??? Like do you see it as platonic, romantic, some secret third thing or some amalgamation of all of these that only makes sense to them???

oh definitely a bizarre amalgamation of all three of these things that only makes sense to them. They'd crawl under the other's skin if they could, if it meant never leaving the other's side ever again. Jason would climb into Danny's chest to listen to his heart, and vice versa. The secret third thing: so utterly devoted to one another that the lines blur. If you took a peek at their souls, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. It's a gradient they've smudged together.

If somebody told Jason and Danny to "keep their dog on a leash", neither of them would who is which. They're based on the song "Wait For Me" from Hadestown (Both Versions). They are also the song "Far Away From Tulsa" and "Death's At My Door" from the Outsiders. Although I discovered those songs only over this summer.

If they were somehow transported into a universe with soulmates, they would not have matching marks, but they wouldn't have to. Danny or Jason would grab a pen and draw their own on each other. "Why should I share my soul with someone I don't know? I want to share it with you!"

Tim I noticed a lot of indigenous patches on your jacket, are you Native?

Idk what my dad was 'cause I never knew him, but yeah my mom is (or... Was.. I guess..) Muscogee, the tribe native to the part of Alabama I'm in.

If I remember correctly she came to Alabama from Oklahoma (where a lot of Natives were displaced to in the 1800s) to "get back to her roots."

But yknow, I was separated from her in childhood (which tbh is upsettingly common for Native families) and I was raised in a very white very Catholic asylum so I'm not as connected to the culture as I'd like to be.

And the first time after her mom's death that Rose lets someone fix her hair is Jason helping her braid it before Lillians funeral.

Hey friends, what does it mean if you have a dream one night (as someone who usually doesn’t dream at all) about being back at home, except one of your platonic F/Os is there IRL with you, and it 100% feels like you’re dating when you then go around and do things together in the dream (even if what you were doing wasn’t necessarily a date thing?? we were just exploring different places near where I live as just the two of us but having really sincere conversations as we did it??)

Insane over the awakening trio again. We fought a war together, saved each other multiple times, and I know for a fact I can trust you with my life. We have never learned to socialize normally so we can't interact in a normal environment for five seconds without dunking on each other. I would follow you through time and space and abandon everything with you. You are the living reminder of every awful thing that have ever happened to me. Our traumas make us hurt each other at every turn. We're the only ones who know what lead to each other becoming Like That. Our jobs are barely in the same area and we don't even hang out that much outside of necessities. You are all I have left. I cannot fucking understand you. I am the only one in this entire world who has the ability to even try to.

Having a blast doing some proper story-boarding for an animation I've wanted to do forever! Reset's story as-told by Boys Will Be Bugs by Cavetown.

This section is about Reset and Orchid making their plans to resurrect Reset's brother! (They are 9 and 10 respectively at this point, and the plan itself is very childish because of that.)

They write it down in one of Orchid's journals under the guise of a kid's story they're writing, hense hiding it from Nightmare, Killer, Cross, etc. The adults dismiss it as kids shenanigans. Meanwhile Orchid and Reset are planning to steal hundreds of monster souls to make a replacement host for Reset's brother to come back to life with.

Orchid understands the severity of this, having to kill and maim to get their way. Reset doesn't quite realize it until later, but he never truly loses his enthusiasm.

This book started it all, and even at the peak of their plan, hundreds of deaths and a larger crew, Reset refers back to the (by then) worn and old book. Doodles of him and Orchid as stick figures sit right beside gruesome pictures of resurrection, and notes that say "Friends 4 Ever" are scrawled in glitter pen just above a list of AUs toppled in their wake, scratches of red pen through each name.

They're beasties tho frfr. And I'm glad I finally got this section figured out.

What's the first YR fic you read and loved? And the last?

the first fic YR I ever read was also the first fic I loved, which was such a huge win and kinda. cemented the fact that I was gone for this show, gone for Wilmon and accepted my place in the trenches.

That was A Glimpse of Us by the lovely Spidaya / @simons-purplehoodie . I made the mistake of reading this in public MULTIPLE times (the mistake was cause it kept making me cry). It's very well-written, and I just... I love a childhood best friends to lovers, I love Wille being such an oblivious idiot, I love ice-skating shenanigans and yeah

The last fic I read and loved is one I'm currently in the middle of, one that everyone and their mother and their father and i suppose their second cousin too has read and loved (for good reason!!) and one that I am just so late to the party too

The concept in general is incredible (I mean, a bake-off au???? who doesn't love that!) but it's also so funny, and cozy and fluffy and genuinely like a warm hug. Lia KNOWS how to do tension and it has me kicking my feet and giggling every time, but also the way she writes Simon and Wille with such care???? ugh
