Having a blast doing some proper story-boarding for an animation I've wanted to do forever! Reset's story as-told by Boys Will Be Bugs by Cavetown.

This section is about Reset and Orchid making their plans to resurrect Reset's brother! (They are 9 and 10 respectively at this point, and the plan itself is very childish because of that.)

They write it down in one of Orchid's journals under the guise of a kid's story they're writing, hense hiding it from Nightmare, Killer, Cross, etc. The adults dismiss it as kids shenanigans. Meanwhile Orchid and Reset are planning to steal hundreds of monster souls to make a replacement host for Reset's brother to come back to life with.

Orchid understands the severity of this, having to kill and maim to get their way. Reset doesn't quite realize it until later, but he never truly loses his enthusiasm.

This book started it all, and even at the peak of their plan, hundreds of deaths and a larger crew, Reset refers back to the (by then) worn and old book. Doodles of him and Orchid as stick figures sit right beside gruesome pictures of resurrection, and notes that say "Friends 4 Ever" are scrawled in glitter pen just above a list of AUs toppled in their wake, scratches of red pen through each name.

They're beasties tho frfr. And I'm glad I finally got this section figured out.

Did another redraw but for Sugar and Nightlight.

It was when I was taking Christmas party asks.

Changed up the designs of the sweeters and actually made Sugar's eyes hearts this time.

I don't (atm) have digital or colorized version of my baby!! But he is a errormare "shipchild", How he was made is unkown, But most likely something doing with fighting ^_^!! His soul is a rotten apple that (is colored) like a rotten apple!! His clothing is red turtle neck, with black trousers and green dinoslippers! The "scarf" is infact apart of his body where he can control the tendril ^0^, Anyways more darker versions of his design are the fct HALF OF HIS FACE IS MELTING OF!! Plus to keep his form anysome stable he has to (physically) feed on people similar to a vampire.

Infodump about Salem please!!

I would love to!!

Salem is a errormare ship kid I made due to wanting to see more female ship children for the Sanses. In most of her lore, she’s ten years old and doted on by her parents.

She came to be after Error and Nightmare had been trying to combine their magic to carry a souling (no sexual stuff was involved) but kept failing. Either that, or the souling that did form would fizzle out. After this, they badly and separated, only to find out a couple months later that Error successfully carried a souling in his soul without knowing through the hardest term. They realized this was because the being needed to feed off of misery, and so, it was able to feed off Error’s grief and pain from breaking up with Nightmare to get strong enough to grow on its own.

Bc of this, Salem will always be an only child as she came to be in very specific circumstances.

Some fun facts about her

-She’s the sweeties little girl you will meet!

-she has no clue what the gang or her fathers do for work. She thinks Horror is a Chef, Dust a scientist, Cross a castle guard, nightmare a therapist, Error a spinster, and Killer is unemployed LMAO.

-the gang are her older brothers and adore her. She loves playing nurse when they get back from missions and assume they just had bad days at work individually.

-when she gets older, she becomes the gang’s personal healer

-she is not allowed to leave the castle due to her possibly getting ill because of the positivity in other aus, and she hates this deeply.

-to make her more inclined to stay, Error fixed uo the outside atmosphere to be more pretty and adds new things every week so she stays entertained.

-Nightmare picks out her clothing for her, so she dresses very regal despite being very hyperactive

-she gives all the gang members cheek kisses before bed and will cry if she’s unable to find all of them in time. Even on their worst days, they let her in their room so she can kiss their cheeks while they rot on their beds. Unbeknownst to her, this actually helps take a zap of negativity from them, so it soothes them enough for the night even if they’ve had horrid hallucinations and anxiety all day. When they realize this, they all begin looking for her as well

-as she gets older, she becomes more embarrassed by it, especially since they tease her, but when she overhears Killer telling Nightmare about why it helps, she keeps doing it with no fuss, even when she’s a teenager

Meet Reset's ragtag group of crime do-ers! (Aka, the Crew. Reset, Orchid, Stereo, and Monochrome!)

Reset's group started out between just himself and Orchid, when they were like, 14 and no one suspected them. The moment they had to go on the run, though, they changed up their strategy.

Orchid still kills. Reset is physically incapable of killing thanks to his magic, so Orchid does all the dirty work (and gets EXP, LV, and more HP thanks to it). She's also high-key the reason this entire operation is possible, because the next guy is

Stereo. Stereo is Fresh's adopted son, and is younger than Reset by a few years. They kidnapped him to ward off the adults, at first, but quickly realized that he was good to use as a human (monster) shield. He's there unwillingly, kept on a tight leash by Orchid's strings, but it's really not too bad unless they're out on a run. He ends up friends with Reset and Orchid... eventually. When they finally tell him what's going on.

Then Monochrome. Mono is the son of Ink and Cross, but is more of a vessel. He was used to contain the X-Event vial, and therefore is 100% capable of using Overwrite. He didn't plan to get involved with the group, but he stumbled across them one day and was too freaked out by Reset's (entirely harmless) scythe to refuse helping them. He mostly just makes portals that Haphazard (leader of the 'good guys') can't trace through the code. Overwrite makes it possible for them to disappear to their base without a trace. And hide their base.

Reset is very grateful for them, despite knowing Orchid is forcing one of them to stay, and the other is just curious and spooked. Reset's not the *best* boss, but after a long day of soul-collecting, he's been known to play video games or watch a movie with his crew.

AHHH THIS IS SO LATE!!! But!! Here's an update on what's gonna be going on moving forward! So I've graduated!! Yippee!! So right now, hopefully updates will be a lot more consistent and on time. Additionally as for both the blog and story, I plan to both find beta readers and some people to help me out 👍

THIS IS CLAIRE

I'm kinda tired so I'm just gonna give a brief overview but please let me know if you want to hear more about her!!

Claire was planned and both Nightmare and Error love her very much and are very proud of her. She likes to be feminine and pretty, it boosts her self confidence a lot and she always overdresses. She likes to spend time with her parents friends Horror and Dust who are like uncles to her. She's shy, sweet, and smart, and often spends her time writing stories, often fantasy. Extreme love for dragons, but has a hard time admitting to it. Given that one of her parents is Nightmare, she does have nightmares a lot, which causes her to have insomnia. She would never blame him for it though. The corruption on her head has a tendril sprouting out from the back of her skull, which can work just like Nightmare's would, and she can grow more if she chooses, it would just hurt and exhaust her. Error tends to be pretty protective of her and fawns over her a lot. When Nightmare's busy, he tries to keep an eye on her at all times and is usually training her to use her magic when he can.

First time trying shading.

This art took about 10 hours since I'm not used to painting and I always end up getting distracted in some way or another. Drawing characters that have dark clothes is terrifying, because if the shading is too light they become gray clothes instead of black, but if you use low light then the shading is not noticeable. I finally gave up and did what I could. Could I have blended or blurred it a little more? Yes, but it was too head-scratching for me.

In the end I made a simple background because no, I don't know how to make backgrounds.I added some red threads representing Error and some darkness for Nightmare, in the end I chose a bluish color since it suits both parents quite well and doesn't stand out… Too much.

Note to myself: Next time I'll draw someone with a lighter color palette.
