I meant to finish this back in August, but I lost motivation for a bit. But. Here I am, finally finishing this piece. Does it seem familiar? If so, there's a reason. This is a redraw of this old piece. With changing the Galran designs of Keith and Pidge because Pidge has gone through so many designs and changes and I wanted Keith to look like his Mama. And markings and better colouring to Thace and Ulaz. So. Here we are. Pidge and Keith as Galran kiddos, probably transformed in an incident, as was on the brain when the original version was being worked on, with Thace and Ulaz taking care of the kiddos.

Personally I think the real reason Pidge had long hair at first was because she hated having to go to a hairdresser to have her hair cut. Her intention wasn't necessarily to grow it out, but just the end result of hating hairdressers. But also she was the kid who hated brushing her hair, so she kept getting mats in her hair, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy in which she hated getting her hair brushed because it hurt, but it hurt because there were so many mats in her hair.

and then she cuts it! Problem solved! Wow, why didn't she do this ages ago?

Oh right. Because she hated going to the hairdresser.

seetttthing scalding hot take but honestly i feel no sympathy or theoretical sadness about altea being blown to bits. the few alteans we DO know are all assholes. clearly the universe isn't missing much. in fact, if you look at the only canon universe that DOES still have altea--- they go on to be just as bad as the galran empire if not even worse.

so yeah. maybe zarkon did the universe a small favor before he went truly off the deep end.

edit; just found out alteans destroyed Diabaazal long before zarkon destroyed altea. nothing ANYONE says can convince me alteans are anything *but* the real villain of the show. they got what they deserved.

New Fic: A Little Mistranslation

Lance was starting to get a very bad feeling as to where this was going.

“Pidge,” his eyes darted to Pidge’s hands — empty — and then to her cargo pants pocket half-expecting to see a miniature sized version of his best friend, “where’s Hunk?”

Except ‘shrink’ ray doesn’t actually mean ‘shrink’ as in 'tiny.' It means ‘shrink’ as in ‘de-age’ and while Pidge figures out a way to reverse it Lance is now spending the day babysitting an adorable baby-version of his best friend.

i gave Vataash the british voice bc i thought it'd be funny and now i've started delving into his backstory a lil bit more and i've decided his dad was a Free Marcher noble who just happens to like Large Women

people joke that he must get his temper from his mother, but he's just "My father, actually. He's nobility. Not used to being told no."

and upon researching a bit, ive decided his father is from Ostwick. if he weren't an Adaar, Vataash would have been a Trevelyan.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but i just noticed that Lotor calls Pidge dynah in chapter 23. Does it mean something specific or is it a general nickname sort of thing? I just absolutely adore the entire scene with the two of them and also all the ones with Lotor and the kids before that. I really love seeing him be kind and gentle towards others

I'm so glad you like that scene because I too have a soft spot for gentle!Lotor but especially when it comes to his budding relationship with Pidge! I actually wrote a short post on galra terms of endearment a whopping three years ago now(!!!) but dynah remains my favourite in terms of its origin/meaning because I just think it's so obscenely c u t e ♡

Lance is the person on the ship that everyone forgets to notify of stuff mostly cause they all presume he already knows.

It'll get to halfway through a mission where he's informed as it's happening and he's good enough at improvising that it rarely comes up to others that they fully did not tell him what was happening.

Lance about 50% of the time assumes that he probably was told but has ADHD so forgot.

It's only really when Hunk, Keith or Coran have to notify people of something that Lance absolutely gets told (Hunk cause he's fully aware of Lance's adhd and his own anxiety has to make sure he's remembered to tell him, Keith cause he mentally notes off that hes told people and figures he might forget so wants as many people in the know as he can get and Coran cause after years as a court advisor, other than Allura and her family, he has to presume people don't listen when he talks so is just in the habit of repeating what he says)

It all comes to a head when it's like Pidge and it's really important every knows the information as they all watch Lance accidentally launch them all head first into chaos and the only thing that breaks the silence is pidge being like "I thought Hunk told him"

There's then a castle rule installed about having information passed either at a morning/afternoon meeting or when they're eating when it's clear everyone is defo there

Hi everyone! This is a FNAF crossover, so before to read it, try to find some FNAF lore so you can understand better! And sorry for beign late...

My name is Katherine Elizabeth Holt, or at least what's left of her. It was my birthday party when, on that fateful day, that Monster put his hands on me, taking my life with a knife. I was one of those abandoned souls, lost thanks to the Monster and bewitched by the Puppet. It seemed like a dream the moment she approached me with the mask on her face and a gift clutched in her hands, handing it to me with her usual too-big smile.

“For me?”: I had asked shyly, looking around only to see absolutely nothing but her.

“Happy birthday, Katie”: she replied politely

How long has it been since I've been Katie...

From her voice I recognized her: Allura. I hadn't seen her in a long time.

“Now I'll take care of him…”: she had spoken again, and I, like a fool, had nodded. I had thought that she would probably go to the others afterwards to tell them that I was fine, that the image of that Monster raising the knife was just a bad dream.

But the others were also with me...

When I finally, and stupidly, took the neatly packaged box into my hands, I was no longer immersed in darkness. I could feel a strange sensation in my chest, that missing breath in my throat, that sensation of feeling imprisoned, bewitched, locked up...

I stopped calling myself Katie, or Katherine; I stopped seeing anyone anymore, although sometimes I saw strange gentlemen dressed in blue, the ones that dad always called "policemen"; I stopped seeing the sky or simply imagining it. I was locked in a dark, hidden room. Nobody came in. The door was always open but I couldn't move.

I stopped calling myself Katie, now for everyone I was Golden Freddy...

What a strange name, even stranger than all the times my brother called me Pidge!

I miss my brother, I miss mom and dad. I haven't seen them since I was an outcast in here, since my little birthday party, since April 7, 1984. But I'm not alone, Keith is here with me too. I had heard of him: I saw him last year with the Monster before the pizzeria closed. I had heard my parents talk about something called "adoption", and "the bite of '83", but I was little and my mom and dad didn't talk about these things in front of me or Matt.

I was too little…

Now I get it, but Keith is not like the Monster.

He wants to protect me.

It was he who explained to me that it was now too late, and that I could continue to live like a ghost. He said that Allura had been kind to me, he said that she had given me some powers like hers, he said that the Monster had to pay. I was only six years old when he locked me in that room and he pulled that knife on me. He said I was too young for that, but he also said we had a second chance to get revenge on the Monster.

And I believed him.

He said Allura wanted to kill him, but the Monster was too evil even to die. He had to pay.

He had to pay.

He told me that we were both Golden Freddy, that we were invincible, that I was the one he shouldn't have killed.

And so I did.

And so we did.

i returned to tumblr after 4 years just to post this here <3

hi hello promoting first 2 chapters of my fic here. we r back in 2023 with slow burn college au klance, found family. all that good shit.

vld had the potential for a lot of character development and enrichment of the different character interactions and it kinda fell flat in the later seasons. (do not even get me started on how disappointed i was with lance's character development or lackthereof, as well as allura's ending...) at this point, i'm not sure if i actually like the show or the fan interpretation of the show more.

anyway i decided to try my hand at reworking the character arcs and their dynamics this time around because there's so much potential for all the conversations and dynamics that i wanted more fleshed out in the show, like keith and pidge, lance and shiro, allura actually being friends with lance. (reminder this is a KLANCE fic so all other pairings are platonic)

i started writing a few drabbles earlier this summer and then the drabbles took on a life of their own and now i have a beta reader—they dont have tumblr but love u bro— and i've published to ao3.
