Joys of the Day:
-Qigong class was actually really good today. There is a form called "self massage" and you are basically rubbing your hands together to generate heat through friction (but really generating Qi) and then spreading that throughout various parts of the body.
When we started, it felt good ofc, but I didn't know why we were doing it in the places we were. Now, 75% through all of the acupuncture points, it makes more sense, and I'm impressed by the depth of it.
For example, there's one called "putting on your qi glasses" and you basically use your curled finger and rub above and below your eyes. It does feel good, sure, but there are I think 6-8 acupuncture points in that area, 4 of them reallyy important. It's cool that in such a small seemingly trivial movement you are covering so many important points
-Exercise! It feels good to move my body, and it helps me with my stress too (:
-Got to learn about and learn how to treat Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in class today, which was really cool to learn about
-Catching up with good friends
-"The spaces between"
-Got to try one of the best burger places in PDX. Their burgers were pretty good, but their fries were even better, and their ketchup was amazing too (I am an absolute ketchup fanatic)
-Community and friends
-Building better habits
Hope everyone has a good night!
Blessings!

this vibes with my experiences... I feel like when a chiropractor adjusts your neck and there's like a bunch of neck pops in a row I'm not convinced that's not damaging in a permanent way, I know someone who swears a chiro turned her minor neck tweak into permanent neck damage and I think the exact same thing happened to me too
the better way I've found for myself and know to myself, as many others have before and after me:

yet atoms are made of up, down, and strange quarks...
atoms can become ionized / electrically charged...
small disturbances in electric charge are what ancients called chigong, perhaps also prana, or ka...western science will always be "discovering" these ancient truths, i.e. this successful, yet incredibly naieve study, essentially you've got ambitious mountain climbers camping in the foothills of the himalayas saying "there might be some big hills up in there, maybe we should check it out:"
From above article...
"Take-Home Messages
After skin injury, a skin battery is generated by electrodynamic field created by the movements of electric charges.
The electrodynamic field orientates and stimulates the migration of electric charged cells such as fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and macrophages and stimulates angiogenesis.
The electric current generated by the electrodynamic field circulates in humans and animals similar to electrical circuits (BCECs).
The interaction of electric charges in blood alters erythrocyte aggregation and consequently the viscosity in microcirculation.
Several treatments can enhance skin wound healing interfering with electric factors. Electric stimulation, laser, LED, acupuncture, and electroceutical dressing are some of them."
i am just a collection of atoms don't ask me anything

hi! i was wondering if you could talk about your qigong practice? what do you like about it, how did you start/what made you interested, what are the benefits, etc?
Hi anon!
Yes, I'd love to! If you know me, you know that my biggest interest is energy work. Energy is the thing that got me into spirituality and is the base of my current practice today. Throughout my studies, I've found that each culture has their own version of energy work; Qigong is the Chinese practice of energy, or Qi (chi) cultivation and movement.
What particularly got me interested was acupuncture. I had amazing results with acupuncture, and it fascinated me what could be accomplished with only a handful of hair-thin needles. As it turns out, it's all related in Chinese Medicine. With acupuncture, needles are used to guide and move your qi around in your body to rebalance it and promote physical healing. Qigong is a study and practice of qi, enabling you to do the same things as acupuncture, except without the needles; you can do everything yourself, just by moving your own qi.
Qigong is amazing! I haven't yet moved on to advanced techniques yet; I was actually supposed to but my classes got canceled due to the quarantine. But with what I've learned, it enabled me to start building up greater stores of qi, which has really took my energy work and spiritual practice to the next level. The more energy that you have stored means higher spiritual stamina to do things like advanced energy work and longer times astral traveling. Health-wise, I also just have more energy in general, and I'm more healthy; I don't get sick as often. Also, my sensitivities to energy have also improved as a result. Chinese Medicine-wise, it promotes health by improving qi-circulation and reducing stagnation, as well as preventing qi-deficiencies.
So yeah! It's pretty great. I love it, and I can't wait to resume my lessons. Also, for the record, it's my goal to study and practice Chinese Medicine!
Thanks for the ask! Sorry that it's a little bit late, I've been quite busy with school and midterms and stuff. But I hope that I answered all of your questions!
Blessings!

Yesterday at my Chi Gong training in the park I met those three beautiful ducks ( I really like ducks and found out that there are also duck kung fu styles ) When I was standing there with a deep slow breath they came to me (I met them before) and one of them was making small noises to me (she was the leader of the group) So I took a break of my exercises and sat down to them They walked around me and make small noises One of the cleaned herself so close to me that I could touch her easily but I didn´t I felt the dao before and at this moment I could feel it again And if I had tried to touch her, I would go out from wu wei, because I want to touch the duck But instead I could be a part of those ducks also without grabbing them and that was even much joyful To understand this difference of wu wei is a big part on the way of dao

Qi and Qigong
The Concept of Chi The Chinese do not divide the physical from the spiritual, considering both part of the same larger reality. They call the human energy field or vital energy chi; energy practice, the total revitalization of the body, is called chi kung, also spelled qi gong or chi gong, which means something like ‘energy work’ or ‘mastering the energy.’ Paul Dong calls the vital energy…
