important worldbuilding thought is that sometimes real world shit is goofy or doesn't make sense

sometimes spec fic gets kind of poisoned by the idea that everything has to be "cool"

I always think of how derisive ppl get about Ewoks because they're "cute"

Real things are cute, real things are goofy looking, real things are unassuming sometimes, none of this makes them less what they are otherwise

Maybe watch more old animal documentaries, you know?

But also an Ewok is a person, in universe, and if you think small cute people can't be dangerous you have some self examination to do, actually

its a funny little guy! has one of my favourite types of mech designs of being just a cockpit on legs, but unfortunately my favourite chickenwalker design is still the locust

SARNA page says its a stealth mech with some crazy cloaking tech going on which is real neat and we love this for him

WIP: Battle of Endor. Started painting the pilots tonight. This is as far as I got before I started nodding off at the bench. Still need to paint the belts and fix up the gloves and tidy up a few things that I am just noticing. The arms on these pilots are kinda shit so it’ll be a bit of guess work as the glove lines aren’t moulded in. I think the colours are close enough but I may go back and fix the seat belt colour tomorrow night. the abominable heat has returned and i am deceased

idly faffing about in mech game instead of attending my 3d modelling backlog; I did add a second layer to my modifications to Kea's hair, but having a weird visual issue that I'm not entirely sure of the cause of, I need to do a re-export of Kea's heavy coat updates for the added undershirt options, and there's some glaring rig issues going on with the leather jacket that I have to address somehow...

but it is Far Too Warm so I'm shooting big mech guns and feeling a tad annoyed that the game isn't letting me have the cool-looking chickenwalker legs it teased me with in one of the training missions.
