So I decided to make a nice little edit for another one of my favorite Sailor Moon shops, Chibiusa and Hotaru. I used the Sapphic flag because while I headcanon Hotaru as firmly lesbian (and also demisexual but that’s not really important here), I think Chibiusa is bisexual with a heavy preference for women given her brief crush on Helios. Anyway, I really hope you like it!

thinking today about the silly haired girl named usagi&serenity born on june 30th with a dark haired partner who:

is seen as mature

has dead parents 

has a history of being weak and sick 

has healing powers as a civilian 

has an age gap with their usagi, but the exact amount varies

has been corrupted by an outside force and died

has very few friends and cherishes their usagi

spent part of episode 116 looking on at their usagi with affectionate exasperation 

has said or heard daisuki with their usagi

people will joke about the time fuckery in sailor moon and are dreamshippers (Helios x Chibiusa) but then they get mad when u ship Chibiusa with Hotaru because they either think Hotaru is like a billion years older or that Chibiusa being 900 is literal

and it’s like. ok did you guys watch or read sailor moon with your eyes closed? because I’ll break it down very simply for you! Hotaru/Sailor Saturn is basically the same age mentally and physically as Helios/Pegasus

Chibiusa is 900 CHRONOLOGICALLY. She is not literally that old, the entire point is that the silver millennium family ages very slowly as to serve their people longer

I think people get confused on Chibiusa’s age because she time travels between the past and future quite a few times especially in the 90’s anime but- she’s clearly not the same age in s2 as s5 etc

But like Helios and Hotaru she doesn’t have a listed set in stone age, but let me continue

“Hotaru is too old!!!!” Hotaru isn’t old enough to be Usagi or the other inner guardians ages, and while I agree that before her rebirth she’s probably a bit older it’s really not that strange of a gap and the gap is never stated

but Hotaru being the guardian of death and rebirth… is reborn as an infant and rapidly ages until she is Chibiusa’s age. Like literally the exact age, they go to school together

they also look very similar in height and face etc, so. by the end of the main story that is shown on screen they are the same age

and then the “they’re too young to be shipped!!! Let them be friends!!!” and 14 isn’t? they’re not like 5 idk what you want me to say here + most people that say this ship her and Helios anyway so I don’t rlly get it
