Some tiny Robin Hoods because my god, that movie was formative for me. Was reading a history book that nonchalantly mentioned it as a decently accurate adaptation and oh how fast my fingers had to paint after that.

Wife and I watched the Minecraft movie recently! I know absolutely 0 things about Minecraft but it was a romp and I enjoyed myself.

Please enjoy some happy Creepers doing normal Creeper things, and also Chicken Jockey. I hear he's somewhat famous.

"Makoto's Uniform"

Little bitty doujinshi produced for my patrons last year!

For very short comics I always think of feelings, moods, emotional states. Something that can be a complete thought in the visual equivalent of a paragraph. I know I teased the comic would end up being Sailor Moon, so those were my starting parameters: Sailor Moon characters + something exploring feelings.

I settled on a very simple contemplation: how excited must Makoto have been to move to highschool and finally, finally get to wear the same uniform as everyone else. As a character she struggles so much with being seen as "too big" and forever standing out for it, I can see this little detail meaning a lot to her.

Tiny Mermaids for members of my tiny painting club!

One is inspired by a moon jelly, the other is inspired by a rockfish (two very different fish with very different vibes, ha!). I love how soft the colors turned out in both.

Bird Trio

An art challenge done with @thegorgonist and @elizabethpatricianart. We each picked a bird and a flower for the group to paint and I decided to put them all together because I've enjoyed playing with different shapes in my art lately.

Birds are: the varied thrush, the ruby crowned kinglet, and the green hermit hummingbird.

I think the kinglets are my favorite of the trio for colors and shapes but I like that each of them has a different feeling.

The one with Kara looks too wholesome tbh, the one on his own has a more accurate level of scruff.

A drawing from art night earlier this year.

The challenge was for each of us to draw fanart based on the same pin-up reference. I am a very normal person so I took this sexy pose and applied it to the most appropriate character possible, Samara from the Ring.

I am smitten with this character. Her whole everything is a vibe that speaks to me and if there were novels to read I would devour all of them!

New paper bled in ways I did not expect but otherwise I'm really happy with this.

Bird Whisperer 2025: July

I had a completely different plan for this painting originally but the emerald green ink I used wasn't as waterproof as I thought and it bled all over my painting. I figured I could either junk it and start over or roll with the mistake and do something that used all that color.

I'm glad I did, to be honest, because once I started highlighting those pops of green with other flecks of yellow and magenta I think I ended up with something really cool and ethereal that was way cooler than my original plan.

Happy accidents and all that :)
