Least favorite thing about him: I wish we had more focus on him than a special, a Tommy Andreasen fanfic, and one season.

Random hc: Cole is awful at cooking, but he's not so bad at baking a certain type of cookie. why? bc it was his mom's favorite type, and he wanted to make it for herm and he finally perfected the recipe when she was long dead >:)

Happy STS! What are your favorite scenes from your WIPs? (and if you would like share some lines <3)

Howdy! I've been writing some scenes for Tsarevna of the Horned Crown, one of my fantasy works in the world of Uuve that focuses on Katya, the daughter of the Tsarina of Sterlirga. Words, words.

I love writing scenes between her and her lover Bronomir. As they get to know each other, they get to have a healthy and loving relationship. Since they meet in their middle teenage years, they get to grow up together, and grow old together. Any scene where they're together and being sweet is lovely. They've had such rough childhoods.

Here's a nice moment between them I wrote today:

“And you are certain you can?”

“Mira, my love. Motherhood has not yet ruined my body.” She strokes Bronya’s soft head, his fine, dark hair growing in well. The smallest suggestion of horn nubs have formed on his forehead. Though he was so small when he was born, he’s growing plumper every day. “I am young. Strong. I have my pledge—”

“Pledge,” Bronomir mumbles. “I have thoughts, about that pledge.”

Katya gives him a sharp look, not needing words to explain.

Bronomir sighs. “My lovely wife. You are stubborn and wild as a boar.” He reaches over to rest his hand on Bronya’s back as he nurses. “If you want to take the work, I will be awaiting your homecoming. You are free as any bird, and more beautiful.”

“Mira,” Katya giggles. After four children and just a little more of marriage, Bronomir still makes her feel fluttery as she’d felt first meeting him. Her worries about losing her newfound freedom when they married had been unfounded; she has never been more free than she is with Bronomir. He’s so gentle with both her and their children. At times, his doting nature reminds her of ax-throwing with her father, how those were the best memories she had of that awful girlhood.

So they're just... adorable! So cute! They're so sweet! I love them both so much!

“You’re using up all the hot water!” All three boys shouted.

“I turned off the shower ten minutes ago, stop being babies!”

Lloyd snorted a bit as he listened to the squabbling below. “Yeah. They’re pretty great..."

Belowdecks, the shower turned on, and Cole, Kai, and Jay all shrieked variations of, “BITCH, ARE YOU GETTING BACK IN THE SHOWER-” Followed by more of their yelling at her and petty insults.

My OC Stacy who is the daughter of Steve and Bucky, a chaotic bisexual ADHDer, a maliciously compliant little shit, a gremlin but also a sweet ray of sunshine, coming from a mixed faith family, and just being the bane of the US government/Tony Stark’s existence in general

Fixing the erasure of representation issue- not just the whitewashing! Especially Steve’s disability and being an irish immigrant, also aggressively queer as he should be

^^^ and Stucky Supremacy :D 

Autistic, Trans, Asexual, Bisexual, and Jewish Peter Parker! (also he actually acts like a teenager and not a fucking child, the fuck writers and fans)

In fact, all of the characters that should be Jewish are actually Jewish (Wanda and Peitro, Kate Bishop, Bucky, Moon Knight, etc etc), because we all know how terrible the MCU is at respecting the source material

No romanticizing Tony’s shitty behavior and getting called out on said behavior multiple times

Civil War is actually about Steve Rogers and not just Iron Man 4 :) (also Tony being proven very very wrong)

Actually addressing how bad the Sokovia Accords are and how awfully they treat people with superpowers (and how it’s really just the US gov. trying to have their own little superhero army and how that’s fucked up)

Fixing this issue the MCU has where they reduce characters to a few traits and take away what’s at the core (especially with newly introduced characters)

Fixing Age of Ultron and Endgame (because AoU was a trash fire and Endgame was a good concept but terrible execution)

Did you know Peggy’s character was based on a character from the comics named Cynthia Glass who was a Nazi Spy? “Based on” as in the writers took Cynthia’s character and just slapped Peggy’s name on her? Yeah so, Peggy’s actually gonna be a Nazi spy in this fic and her sus behavior (shooting at Cap, Operation Paperclip, etc) won’t be ignored or brushed off

^^^ in fact she manipulates Steve into letting her have his and Bucky’s daughter so that HYDRA could have their own little supersoldier lab rat and also Peggy not being a good mom and handing Stacy over to HYDRA like it’s nothing

The ending to Endgame actually makes sense (and no Steve undoing his entire arc because WTF WAS THAT-)

More time saying fuck you to the US government because we hate them in this house, and we stan Stacy for doing everything she can to be the bane of it’s existence. Everyone but Tony is right behind her :) 

All the Young Avengers are closer in age because they should be, also they’re all younger than 20 because that should be happening they’re not supposed to be adults

Lots of trauma and mental health issues for everyone, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety and more!

More time with Nat and Yelena BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T GET ENOUGH T-T

Whump prompts or ideas for parents with a newborn baby/toddler? *trying to write an angsty/whumpy fic where my ship are new parents and all my inspiration has dried up, grrrrr*

Sleep deprivation from taking care of the baby means they get snappish with each other or causes a household accident, like cutting themself while making dinner

One gets in a car crash on the way to pick up baby supplies from the store. The other calls, annoyed that the supplies aren’t back yet, only to hear they’re at the hospital

One gets sick and doesn’t want to expose the baby, so now the other has to juggle caring for the baby by themself while also caring for their sick and miserable S/O.

One is a sympathetic vomiter, so when the baby doesn’t feel well and spits up, they struggle not to puke too.

One of them panics, thinking the baby has been kidnapped, but it turns out the other took them somewhere without thinking to tell them (or maybe they actually have been kidnapped, depending on your preference!)

Almost every fic you’ve ever written is about Lloyd, this bean’s been through enough, WRITE ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE FOR ONCE, DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO HURT LLOYD AGAIN-

Yeah. It’s about Lloyd.

i love you and it hurts

Summary: Kai would do anything to protect his family. Especially his best friend, Lloyd. They’ve always been tight, and he just wants to keep him safe.

Unfortunately, it’s not a one-way street, and protective instincts run in the family. When Lloyd’s reckless, protective nature goes too far and lands him a trip to the hospital, Kai is terrified.

He never meant for it to be like this.

Attackers flanked his side, and Kai slashed his sword in a fiery arch, sending them to the ground. But more were coming, and he couldn’t stop them-

Flames licked across the ground, blocking the enemy from reaching him. It wouldn’t last long, though- already, they were sputtering to a halt as someone- he couldn’t see who it was, blood and sweat blurred his vision- lunged at him, and Kai struggled to push back.

I can’t do this, where are you guys-

The guy was suddenly forced off of him, and Kai fell to the ground, panting. He glanced up to see Lloyd standing over him, fire in his eyes as he glared at their attackers, a glowing sphere of energy hovering in his hand.

“Thanks, dude,” he gasped as Lloyd helped him to his feet.

“Don’t mention it. You’ve done the same for me a thousand times.”

Kai grinned, shooting flames in the face of an attacker. “Oh, is that what’s going on? You’re trying to repay your enormously large debt to me for saving your butt?”

“I don’t owe you anything. I’m doing it because I care.”

“Yeah, yeah. We all know you’re a big softie-”

“Kai!”

The ear-piercing scream cut through the air, and before Kai could even process anything, Lloyd was slamming into his shoulder, knocking him to the ground. Then Lloyd was slumped in his arms, shivering, someone was screaming, there was blood everywhere, he was drowning in it, Lloyd was too cold, too still in his arms-

Kai jerked awake in a cold sweat, half out of his chair before he was held back down by Nya, who murmured sleepily where she was leaning against his shoulder.

He took a slow, deep breath, trying to calm his pounding heart. He glanced up at the waiting room they were sitting in, reminding himself where they were.

They were fine. They were in the hospital.

Lloyd was safe.

The others were curled up on the chairs next to him, leaning on each other as they slept. Someone had dimmed the lights and draped blankets over them.

Groggily, he lifted his head towards the sound of soft voices. Two nurses stood near the hall, whispering.

“It came together very nicely. He already seems a lot better. It was a severe wound, but his body is healing unusually quickly.”

“How is he doing?”

“He’s pretty out of it, which is to be expected, but seems to be doing pretty well otherwise.”

“Lloyd’s awake?” Kai scrambled out of his chair, ignoring Nya’s groan.

The nurses glanced over at him in surprise. “You’re up!”

“I just woke up. Is Lloyd finally conscious?”

“He just woke up a little while ago. He’s tired, but he’s doing okay.”

“Can I see him?” The nurses exchanged hesitant glances, and he pressed. “Please? I just want to see that he’s okay.”

One nurse nodded. “I can take you in for a little while. But not long, he’s probably going to want to sleep.”

“I understand.”

The nurses led him down the hallway to Lloyd’s room, and as they pushed their way in, Kai hesitated briefly at the door.

It’s okay. You got this.

Stepping into the room, Kai felt his gaze darting around to everything else except what he was here for. The beeping monitors on the wall, an IV pole near the bed, a chair in the corner near a small window, a door leading to the bathroom-

“Kai?”

The way Lloyd spoke was so hopeful, heartfelt, and emotional- Kai couldn’t avoid it anymore. He looked over at Lloyd.

Lloyd was half-sitting up in bed, although that was mostly due to all the pillows supporting him. His whitish-blond hair was messy, he still looked too pale, and, although his hospital gown covered most of it, Kai could still see some of the bandaged areas poking out. But he was looking infinitely better than he had 24 hours ago, stiff, cold, and unmoving as nurses wheeled him off to surgery. The difference gave Kai whiplash, and he just stood there for a minute, too shocked, scared, and relieved to do anything.

Lloyd’s gaze softened, and he lifted an arm towards him. “C’mere.”

Kai stumbled to his bedside with a gasp, letting Lloyd wrap his arms around him. When Kai finally pulled away, that part of Lloyd’s hospital gown was wet with tears.

“Kai, look at this.” Gently, Lloyd pulled up his garment to expose his chest, revealing the long and jagged- yet precise and careful- line of stitches there. Lloyd grabbed his hand and gently pulled it over towards the area, guiding it onto the wound. “See? I’m okay. I’m better now.”

Kai lightly ran his fingers over the stitching, feeling the way they were strong and connected, and his heart rate slowly turned to something more normal. But the knot of unease in his chest still hadn’t faded. Lloyd had taken a hit from a sword meant for Kai. It should’ve been him lying here now, not his baby brother.

“Lloyd,” Kai said. “You saved my life. For that, I owe you everything. And, of course, I am beyond relieved that you are okay. But I never- never- want you to do that again.”

Lloyd frowned. “Sure, I’ll stop. As soon as you stop risking your life for me.”

“This isn’t about me.”

“Then who is it about? You’re just as much a part of this as I am.”

“That’s not the point! I just want you to be safe! I can’t go through that panic again!’

‘You think I don’t feel the same every time you run off recklessly or endanger your safety on my behalf? It’s one of the worst feelings in the world.”

“Which is why you, of all people, should understand why I need you to stop! Your life will never be worth anything I can offer you.”

“Are you kidding?” Lloyd’s eyes were blazing now. “Nothing on this Earth matters more to me than our family, especially you. I would die for you. I have, and I will again.”

“But I don’t want you to,” Kai whimpered, rubbing his hand.

“I don’t want you to, either. Yet you do. We both do, even though we shouldn’t. Because our friendship is stronger than anything.”

Kai smiled tearfully. “Even stronger than our common sense, apparently.”

Lloyd smiled back. “Yeah. I’m sorry for worrying you, Kai. I hate making you feel that way. But I’m not going to promise to stop doing it, because if given the choice again, I would do the same thing in a heartbeat. I would never let anyone hurt you.”

“I know you would, bud. I would do the same. Of course I would. I just… I’m so scared that one time it will go too far.”

Lloyd said nothing, looking down at his hands.

“What about this,” Kai suggested, and Lloyd glanced back up at him. “I won’t tell you to stop protecting me, as long as you don’t tell me to stop protecting you. But I will ask you to be more careful. To think before you act. Because sometimes, there’s a better way. And I would hate for you to die thinking that it was the only way to save me when there was a better alternative.”

Lloyd nodded. “I can do that. I promise to be less reckless in the future.”

“Good,” Kai murmured, leaning against him as he felt his eyelids droop. “I think we’re going to be okay.”

This fic includes:

My Original Character Amy. She’s a human clone and a former assassin/child soldier, the Master of Space (forcefields and portals), falls in love with Lloyd and is very protective of him plus they have a cute aspec romance, and her arc is all about learning that her emotions aren’t a weakness to let people love her and that’s she’s not a broken monster.

The rainbow colored ninja being very queer as the universe intended: Gay Ace Cole, Trans and Pansexual Kai (plus Lavashipping galore!), Trans and Bisexual Nya (she and Kai swapped genders and names), Trans and Bisexual Jay, Genderfluid and Pan Zane, Asexual Demiromantic and Genderqueer He/They Lloyd, Genderqueer and PanAce Pixal and other characters are obviously queer as well.

Mental health issues galore that you can’t convince me these ninja don’t have at this point: everyone has PTSD, depression, anxiety, and lots of trauma!

Also autistic and adhd ninja because i said so: Autistic and ADHD Lloyd (he gets the autism from Garm and the ADHD from Misako), ADHD Kai (gets it from his mom), ADHD Jay (also from his mom), and Autistic Zane (his father built him that way because he is also autistic).

Addressing the Garmadon family’s generational trauma BECAUSE THE UNTAPPED POTENTIAL-

Lloyd’s relationship with his mom is complicated BUT after Lloyd has an understandable anger outburst Misako realizes “Fuck I messed up and hurt my kid” and spends a very long time trying to be better and fixing her and Lloyd’s relationship- and they do have a good relationship by the end! (because fuck doing nothing over actually working on fixing their mistakes and actually making up for it and people being complicated and imperfect people)

Love triangles are OUT, trauma triangles are IN

Jay actually gets character development in Skybound AND KEEPS SAID DEVELOPMENT, including Jay having to learn how to have a healthy relationship with Nya and stop bulldozing over people’s boundaries/having unhealthy obsessions with people (which is actually a result of trauma)

^^^ also actually exploring Jay’s birthmom in Prime Empire instead of introducing her then only mentioning her once several seasons later (and not even by name)

Also more sibling stuff in general over the romance because Jay and Nya’s relationship over Kai and Nya’s WHY?!?! (also Smith sibs adopting Lloyd, and all the ninja being even closer as a family obviously)

Consider the stupid love triangle with Wu Garm and Misako GONE. Don’t worry though, I give the brothers a much more believable and angsty reason to start fighting in Season 4 :))) (hint, it has to do with their repressed trauma from their dad’s not so great parenting)

Kai gets his own season with plenty of angst and character development as he deserves. The Green Ninja thing and Chen’s staff thing and being abandoned with a baby sister to take care of and putting all his worth on protecting others will ABSOLUTELY BE DISCUSSED

^^^ also Lavashipping will be included with Kai and Cole finally confronting their feelings for each other and going from on and off friends with benefits to the cutest boyfriends/husbands ever

Exploring the Dragon vs Oni and Creation vs Destruction concept more and using Lloyd and his family to illustrate that what the world really needs is a balance of both (also Lloyd and his dad keeping some Dragon/Oni features at the end!!!)

The ninja actually having to recover from when they very severely injured, or say, fucking possessed (why didn’t they even mention how Lloyd would’ve had to recover from that, the fuck)

Also Wu being confronted multiple times for his bullshit (which, suprise suprise, is a result of trauma), and he actually has to fix his mistakes and try to be better

Fixing everything wrong with Rebooted, Skybound, March of the Oni, Fire Chapter, Prime Empire, and Crystalized (I’m a writer myself, there are some things that drive me crazy and I NEED TO FIX THEM-)

More family time and mundane domestic stuff in between the ninja-ing- just the ninja spending time together and acting more like family/roommates in general

Prime Empire actually makes sense, Jay gets actual character development AND we actually explore his birthmom

Morro and Harumi are deeply traumatized BUT they let said trauma make them assholes and use it as an excuse to hurt people and they become even worse (Morro and Harumi stans BEGONE THIS IS NOT FOR YOU)

^^^ this will include Harumi developing an unhealthy obsession with Lloyd and it turning into creepy/predatory behavior, and there will be off screen sexual assault at some point, be wary of that

Exploring what life with Lloyd and his parents pre-banishement was like, complete with angsty-fluffy feels

Actually talking about addressing everyone’s trauma in general (and giving them more trauma because I’m that bitch :DDD )

There’s probably more I’m forgetting but that’s the gist of it for now
