I’ve been seeing on people’s pages they like to post a small about me section, so I thought I’d do that, too.

A few things about me personally …

• You can call me Dusty, for that is my username, clearly.

• My pronouns are He/Him 🏳️‍⚧️ and while I’m not sure what my sexuality is, I’m pretty sure the one I closely identify with the best is lithromantic/Quoiromantic and asexual (idk man stiff figuring stuff out lol)

Finally finished my romancable BG3 studies!

These were really good practice. Astarion is of course my bias, but I also think he’s the best one I did cuz he was the last. Someone mentioned previously about Minthara, and I left her out because as far as I know you can’t enter a romantic relationship with her only a physical one. Despite my infatuation, I can’t actually play the game tho so I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ Something I think I wanna do next is Stardew Valley characters but it might be a while before I tackle another series of characters again, we’ll see

yuri recs 1,2,3 GO!

AH FINALLY MY TIME HAS COME

first and foremost, i have to recommend the best yuri ever written (in my opinion):

I’m in Love with the Villainess! this is an absolutely incredible story about an office worker, Rei Ohashi, who gets reborn into the world of her favorite otome game Revolution! now, as the protagonist Rae Taylor, she courts the villainess of the game Claire François! while this seems like a typical isekai story, it is anything but. there’s plenty of twists and turns along the way, and it’s filled with honest conversations about being gay, trans, and so much more! i highly recommend you start with the light novels because they are beautiful!! additionally, the author, Inori-sensei, is a trans lesbian. so you know these conversations are coming from a genuine place!!

next i’d recommend Whisper Me a Love Song!! this is a cute adorable slice-of-life yuri about a school girl, Himari Kino, falling in love with her senpai (and lead singer of the local band SSGirls), Yori Asanagi! Yori and Himari are absolutely adorable together and they are truly wonderful!!

i would also recommend Citrus/Citrus+! those of you who know enough yuri manga probably know this one, for one specific detail. however, for those not in the know, i’ll give a rundown! Yuzu Aihara is a high school gyaru who is excited to get a boyfriend this semester (even tho she’s goes to an all girls school), but she quickly falls in love with the student council president, Mei! on top of figuring out her feelings for another girl, there’s one more complication… Mei is Yuzu’s new step sister! this story follows Yuzu and Mei as they overcome their communication issues and find love in each other (and get married)! it’s a very sweet story and i really highly recommend it!

also, if you’re looking for something a bit more… adult, i’d highly recommend Asumi-chan is Interested in Lesbian Brothels! Asumi is a college girl who wants to find her long lost childhood crush, Mai. her friend told her that she’s seen her around! trouble is, Mai works at a lesbian brothel. so now Asumi must make repeated visits to the brothel in order to track her down (and have a bit of fun on the side~)! while this may seem like it’ll just be “porn without plot” so to speak, this story is genuinely very endearing and funny, plus the art is super cute and good! so not only are you getting expertly drawn adult scenes, but also adorable scenes on top of that!

there’s plenty more i could recommend, but those are some of my personal favorites! i’d also recommend checking out The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady if you want a fun fantasy isekai and Otherside Picnic if you want spooky yuri with terrifying monsters! enjoy reading!!

and then recently I’ve been very inspired by this artist.

Their gentle lines is so delicious to me… so ornate and delicate… the pic I drew of Sabo holding a skull was directly inspired by this artist, I tried to draw how they draw. I don’t think my lines were thin or clean enough tho but it still came out great.

Hi! I just want to say that I absolutely love your writing and your art. City of Blank is my favorite comic by all reasonable measures (not counting my special interest) and your art style is so cool and unique that it’s inspired me to learn how to use half tones and rougher lines.

Mostly the point of this ask is that I wanted to tell you that you’re not alone.

Webtoon comic sections (and webtoon readers in general) are famous for their complete and total lack of reading comprehension. Maybe it’s because of the format of short episodes every week, which leads to reading spread out over time and in tandem with literally dozens of every series.

If I’m being less generous it’s because the vast majority of people are absolute idiots who believe the first narrative they see and parrot it forever, without ever caring to check the facts or learn new ones.

This is part of why Claude supporters are so vocal compared to the rest of the fandom - most readers simply see a clingy villain who almost definitely has a personality disorder. The people who care enough to actually read the comic see him as an apathetic but deeply relatable person, who is misunderstood by the world and has seriously messed up priorities. These same people are the ones who make fan art and cosplay because they actually care about the story.

My point is, don’t judge your comic off of the comment section. If you’re feeling generous, don’t even judge your fanbase. The people who care enough to donate on patreon, make fanart, cosplay, and post about CoB. Those are the people you should listen to. Someone once said “If you wouldn’t ask them for advice, don’t listen to their criticism.” That person clearly didn’t have anxiety and they make it sound easy. It’s not. But try to judge with the people who care over the people who don’t.

And even if your comic sucks (which it doesn’t)

You are still amazing as you are.

Tbh one thing I need to get better at remembering is......every WT comment section is like this haha. It doesn't matter if the writer is modern Shakespeare. Nobody is spared. I should just be grateful mine is (relatively) less toxic than some. I'll take confused people missing blatant details over biggots using slurs any day (tho don't get me wrong. I unfortunately get always at least 1-2 of those any time something remotely gay happens lol. But at least it's just one here and there).

Hi I love how you colour your art! I'm currently trying to learn how to colour my art and was wondering if you could share some advice/tips on how I could colour my art using bright colours like you do?

How do you make the colours pop? How do you shade/render? How do choose the colours/colour palette? Do you colour your line art or do something different to make it look so clean?

To answer your question, I really wish I could provide you with a more insightful answer, but unfortunately Im mostly self taught and learnt my stuff through trials and errors. I never really took any art classes to learn what to do regarding colors on a theory/academic-based standard, I just kinda pick what looks good and went with it and continue that for 10+ years, I do apologize😭

Couple tips I could provide is try to bring some saturation in your shadow by avoiding gray, it turns things bit muddy in my opinion. I usually use a light pink with linear light layer on top of the base color. I also like to have a darker, more saturated color at the edge of the shadow, like streaks of bright red. I would also avoid excessive blurring with rendering, I really enjoy showing some texture through visible brush strokes.
