Welcome one and all to the Night Vale Obscure Ship Tournament! This is to determine once and for all what is the best obscure Night Vale ship. This tournament brings together canon pairings from the supplementary media (like the books), fandom crack ships, rarepairs, and could-have-beens. Some of these ships have large fanbases on Tumblr, but are more lacking on other platforms. Some of these ships will genuinely make you question who in the world is interested in that. And all of these ships are up for your vote, starting tomorrow!

im still not over them including the fact that kevin can explode glass but not charles or donovan. like even if one of them subconsciously rememberd that kevin could explode glass did they not remember the context it was in at all?? did they not fact check?? did they just kill them offscreen and decide to never mention it again?? this is like a cartoon episode where something big happens to the main characters and they never mention it again in the entire show. hey remember that one episode of supernatural where they found the antichrist or smthn and at the end of the episode he disappeared and they said "well he'll only ever be found if he wants to be found because magic" and then they never mentioned him again for the entire rest of the show. this is that to me

Cecil's and Kevin's thing is that (appearance vice) they're true doubles, i think what Carlos' and Charles' thing should be that he's a double of Carlos before he spent 10 years in the desert otherworld with Kevin, Charles is generally very kind and normal but Carlos can't help but despice him on a deep personal level because he's a reminder of everything he used to be and can never go back to

It doesn't seem like people really age in the Otherworld. I wonder if Charles took Donovan somewhere else so he could grow up. I wonder if Kevin stayed behind because he couldn't bring himself to leave his home again. It's been a century of their time, which is plenty of time for that to happen. What if Carlos gets there and Kevin is completely alone?

Time for a Night Vale Tournament!

A lot of tournaments are going on here on this Hellsite, and now that I've had polls for a while with no good ideas, I want to go ahead and make a tournament of my own.

So it's now going to be time for the Obscure Night Vale Ships tournament! If you have an obscure Night Vale ship, whether that's a rarepair or a less popular pairing from the books or liveshows, please send it in and I'll try to get the brackets up later this weekend.

Ships that are NOT eligible are the pairings that have been mentioned with relative significance for at least five years in the main podcast feed. This means that ships like Cecil x Carlos, Abby x Steve, and Maureen x Michelle would not be eligible. However, Jackie Fierro x Sheriff Sam would be eligible, because even though both characters have been around for more than five years, their relationship was only ever alluded to in It Devours.

Characters without canon sexualities can be submitted, and friendships or enemy ships will also be considered. Please specify if you're submitting something as a friend or enemy ship. Everything is at my own discretion but ideally we'll have between 16-24 rarepairs.

One last thing: I haven't decided if Charlevin should be considered, but if you can present a good enough argument one way or the other I'm open to being swayed.

sorry hold on. charles learning ab laurens new position in the temple and wanting to interview her to learn more and kevin panicking thinking hes going to be abandoned again for someone better than him. he always knew this was going to happen he really shouldve expected it. of course no one could love him. not even his god could.
