Beyond The Grid // Chasing Championships in Ferrari Red
[TC] "You've been with Carlos now for four years. What will you miss about him?" [CL] "I think just Carlos, the person. I think we get on very, very well. Unfortunately, with the world as it is now, everything is over-analyzed, over-criticized. But the reality of things is that we always had a really good relationship. Yes, there's been many moments where, inside the helmet, I hated him and he hated me because we didn't view the situation in the same way. But everything was fixed after a discussion between us two... We had a lot of memorable moments that I will...yeah, remember forever."

On the supposed breaching of a previous agreement
After so much misinformation has been debunked, the one item I’ve seen repeated again and again is that there was a prior agreement which Carlos supposedly broke - but Charles gave no actual information about what the agreement was.
Surely the logical conclusion to draw is that we simply don’t know what the agreement was, and so we cannot cast shade on either Charles nor Carlos off the back of the statement. We simply do not know.
Specifically, while we do know Charles subjectively thought an agreement was broken, we do not have any ability to evaluate whether that conclusion is objectively true. Indeed, we don’t even know whether Charles, when making that statement, even had all the facts to hand (given he is not privy to Carlos’ radio messages and debriefing had not yet happened).
In this context the statement from Charles cannot be taken as objective truth. At most, it is a clear indication he was feeling subjectively frustrated.
The response I’ve seen from all over social media seems to be “let’s take Charles’s word for it that trust was breached, even if we don’t know what the agreement was”.
We have no facts. We have no information. We cannot draw conclusions as to what the agreement was, and therefore we cannot know if Carlos actually breached it.
Until (if ever) we have more information, Charles’ comment can only be taken as evidencing his frustration, and no more.

Lando Norris does not have a champion's mentality and it's going to deteriorate his passion for this sport in the long term, maybe even make him lose chances of achievement. At a gap of 62 points he has already crumbled under pressure and is surrounded by doom and gloom in his head.
Max said that both championships aren't a possibility at this point in time, and Norris dismissed Max's concerns and essentially said that "even if I win every race, he's [Max] is still in a better position". While that is certainly true, Max hasn't won a GP since Barcelona, McLaren has had a rocketship longer than that, it is entirely on the team to not snatch a golden opportunity.
Charles Leclerc, who got lapped in 3 out of 4 races, was still optimistic about winning both the WDC and WCC. Even before he won at Monza. His difference to Max is 86 points, but you still see that he's ready to fight for the title even if it might be a little unrealistic. The 2024 season has really shown why you need the fastest driver, even if you don't have the fastest car. Oscar has shown more resilience and hunger than his senior, who has 4+ years more experience in F1. Simply on logistics, McLaren and Lando could take the wins this year, but it will never be an earned victory, as simple as that.

I'm not cut out for those Charles fan accounts on Twitter who say this season Charles biggest weakness is quali and they give me examples of las Vegas and this weekend as if 1) the car doesn't struggle to bring tires up to temp and 2) this teammate he's been out qualified by has a shiny new engine while ours hasn't been touched since like Spain??

"Tell me what you want. In details." + Charles 🫶🏼
Charles presses his mouth, his beautiful face, directly over your cunt. Mouths at it. Breathes you in and groans.
Heat flushes up the back of your neck. A breathy moan escapes as you feel Charles roll his tongue up and down your pussy, lips to clit. Your head falls back when he nips at the swollen bud, mouths at it over your underwear.
You're wet already and he's barely fucking tasted you. Fuck.
"Belle," he coos over the fabric, hands moving up your thighs and to your hips. He crawls up the bed and between your legs. Leans in to kiss you, deep and filthy and wet. "Let's take these off."
You nod, eager and help pull them off your legs. You're naked now, but you've never felt more comfortable anywhere than beneath his eyes. He kisses you again, like a reward almost, for being so patient. For holding still as his hands trail back down your body. He follows them and all the way back on the floor. Slips beteeen your legs like he belongs there.
Charles looks devastating between your spread thighs.
His hands grip at your hips, your sides. Arm curling around one thigh as you dangle it from his shoulder. Kisses the tender skin just below where you crave him most.
His gaze meets yours and the desire in them becoming visible makes you feel lightheaded. Like you'll float right out of your body if it weren't for the hands he has on you. Then his eyes leave yours and he doesn't hesitate as he leans forward, presses a few chaste open mouthed kisses to your swollen bud. Your toes curl.
"Beautiful," he whispers, reverent. Like it's truly a sight he could never tire off. Then he twirls his tongue around your clit and down, looks up at you as he presses filthy kisses all along your pussy. You can't help but whine, whimper his name like you rarely do. But it seems to spur him on, like he waited for you to let go of your last bit of control.
"Tell me what you want," he says, whispers, almost drowned out by the moans slipping off your tongue. "Tell me."
You want to tell him, I can't. Want him to know that you couldn't string two words together if you tried right now, but then he pulls off. Disappointed maybe in your lack of a response. His hands remain on your hips anchor you though. You're grateful for them and the easy way he pulls you up by the hand.
Now staring down at him and his flushed cheeks, his blown pupils and sweaty hair, you can't believe how stunning he is. You thumb at his slick lips and shiver when he kisses the pad of it softly. He looks ruined even though he's the one taking you apart.
"I want you to-- keep doing that," you say, some of that edge returning. Charles likes being told what to do, this is no different. "And I want you to fuck me, Charles. Yes?"
Your hands fly to the sheets on either side of your hips as he gets back to work, sinful mouth working you over like it's something he's done all his life.
Falling back into the bed, your eyes flutter shut and you think you wouldn't mind having Charles on his knees for the rest of your life.

Apparently if the car behind cannot pass car upfront then the car leading this pair is the fastest car.
Well tell Renault that in 2010 they had the monster of a car because both title contenders Hamilton and Alonso couldn't pass Kubica and Pietrov.
Pff tell Albon that his Williams is apparently the best car on the grid, when Mclaren of Norris couldn't pass him.
The leding car doesn't have to be the quickest. Just like the car that is making the pass doesn't have to be that much faster. It depends on the way you wanna pass and how you manipulate the situation for your benefit.
I am a fan of speedway. You know how many times I watched slower bike to cross the line first because they were defending like crazy, driving wisely and using the track to their benefit?

2024 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Analysis
My in depth analysis on Charles and Ferrari as a team, George, Logan + some additional notes on other drivers/moments
Tumblr media
Charles
Charles started from P2 but right away it was clear that something was not right with the car. After locking up in several corners it became clear that he had a serious issue with his brakes. Radio revealed that he had a major brake imbalance with a temp difference of 100 degrees.
This made him unable to defend against Russell and Perez and he was also overtaken by teammate Sainz(in an unnecessarily risky move on Sainz part)
Later in the race Charles did pick up some pace. Overtook Russell, and set the second fastest lap of the race. All on brakes that were wildly out of balance and overheating. It can not be overstated how impressive his driving was under these conditions.
He finished in P4, behind his teammate Sainz and the two Red Bulls.
Charles' race did look different at the beginning and the end. At the beginning he was completely thrown off by the brake issue, unable to trust the car.
Near the end he at least had managed to mitigate enough to overtake Russell and actually gain some pace towards the end.
I firmly believe that without the brake issue Charles would have been on the podium and would have been contending for P2 at the very least. P4 in these conditions just speaks to his skill as a driver.
Ferrari and Sainz
Sainz: quick mention of Sainz part in the race. His overtake on Charles was unnecessary and dangerous. He would have had the chance to pass safely but was impatient. Other than that his race was fine. Didn't make any progress gaining on Perez and finished P3.
Ferrari
As tough as this weekend was there are a lot of positive takeaways for Ferrari.
We learned that the SF-24 has better race pace and does not have the tyre degradation issues of the SF-23.
Carlos' race showed the improved reliability of the SF-23
If that was Charles race handicapped by brakes then he will be competitive in future races
Ferrari clearly top 2: both drivers brought home points for the constructors
Pit stop timing was good, and Charles' stop was the fastest of the race.
If this is the base then Ferrari are at a good starting point for developing the car over the season.
Ferrari knew there was something up with the temp management on Charles’ car because they replaced the front left brake duct exit deflector. A bad adjustment or other error made by the mechanics making this adjustment cost Charles his race.
Fortunately this is an issue that can be easily fixed before Jeddah.
Strategy-wise the biggest problem was Sainz. There was no reason to pull that overtake on Charles. It was risky. Ferrari were probably going to have them swap anyway because of Charles' problems. He should have waited and not put pressure on an already struggling teammate.
I agree that it does make sense to have the driver who isn't dealing with a major mechanical problem in the front, but that means it should be orchestrated by the team at a safe point to do so. It wasn't urgent. So Sainz really was not serving the team with that move.
Telemetry confirms Charles' brake issues, and that he was competitive with Sainz even with overheating brakes. It also shows that Carlos was not fighting the brakes in the same way.  He was actually making up better pace than Carlos by the end of the race. It's pretty clear he would have been on the podium without the brake problem.
Tumblr media
Over the course of the race Charles was able to mediate, and you can see how close he was even with the problem with the brakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charles set his fastest lap which outdid Sainz even while he was struggling on the brakes and Sainz didn't have any such issues.
As painful as this race was, it's a better start for Charles and for Ferrari than last year.
George
George qualified P3 and finished P5.
At the start George was looking good holding onto his position. But as the race progressed it became clear he didn't have the power to hold onto his place. He was overtaken by both Ferraris(by Charles twice)
The issue he faced was with the engine cooling problems with his car. George couldn't push the overtake button to really stay competitive, he risked overheating and frying the engine if he did, so he basically was stuck where he was until he was caught, unable to fight back after being overtaken. Realistically he should have been able to stay ahead of Charles(who was having his own problems)
This does seem to be a weakness on both Mercedes. It's a shame because he is fast and drove about as well as he could given the limitations of the car.
Starting off ahead of Lewis which looks good for him long term. Though Lewis was also battling similar issues and a broken seat.
Logan
Sad day for Logan. And another case of a bad result not being a driver's fault. He had a problem with his steering wheel that based on my understanding of how it was reported, changed the brake balance by itself(it's hard to figure out what exactly went on). This apparently was an issue in qualifying and it happened again causing him to be unable to brake reliably around a turn and come to a halt completely.
Still he was able to finish his race.
It's unfortunate because until the wheel problem cropped up his pace was improved from last year, and we might have seen a much better result. He was actually faster than Alex at the start and put in an impressive fastest lap time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see his pace was good and then becomes suddenly erratic. He was on pace to place higher.
Logan finished in P20, which means he can only improve in placement.
Based on what we saw in testing and quali and even those opening laps I do think Logan's driving has improved and hopefully he gets to show us that this year.
Other moments and drivers of note
Valtteri: had mechanical issues with the car and ended up with a pit stop lasting 1:14
Yuki: Yuki's race was the most frustrating after Charles. And it's because he was not being prioritized by the team when it would have been wise to do so. VCARB gave team orders for him to switch places behind Daniel. Daniel was unable to overtake Magnussen and this move was a posturing stunt for Dani. Yuki is right to be angry. He was fighting for points and the team threw that away to give priority to Dani.
Alex: Alex had some similar issues to Logan and was unable to race properly. Power issues as well as wheel problems made it impossible to overtake.
Haas: were better than expected. Might actually get more points than last year. Tyre management and wear was better.
Zhou: also put in a good first race, coming in just outside the points in P11.
Lewis: his seat broke somehow??? Probably the strangest car problem of the race. I don't even know what to say about that. But if Mercedes can't even build a chair it's no wonder he's leaving.
Mercedes: Lewis had battery problems, and both cars had engine power problems making it difficult to gain places.
Red Bull/Max started strong, no real surprises there.
This race is notable because all 20 drivers did complete the race.
Overall this race revealed a lot of mechanical and technical issues in Mercedes and Williams. Ferrari performed well in spite of Charles' brake issue. We have yet to see these cars reach their competitive potential against Red Bull.
See you next week for Jeddah GP analysis

I have been reading too much of what people have been saying about Lewis's move to Ferrari recently. And I can't take this honeymoon phase seeiously at all. I genuinely like both Lewis and Charles but I am gonna root for Lewis first and foremost. He needs to take back his 8th championship more than Charles needing to get his maiden F1 championship. I feel like there's going to be a lot of the Lecfosi who are praising LH now will turn against him next year, regardless of if he outperforms Charles or not.
#a lot of the criticism lecfosi have about carlos not being ferrari enough#which i still don't know wtf that means#could apply to lewis#“oh he doesn't eat sleep breathe ferrari”#carlos has repeatedly spoken about hoe dedicated to the ferrari project he is but some of y'all use his family memebers liking social media#comments to go against that#also carlos speaks italian and is frequently shown hanging out with ferrari staff members all the time#which is whatever you don't have to like the family but to use that against carlos is wack considering he doesn't really run his own socials#like charles does#therefore i don't even think carlos knows about what his family is doing online. i can be wrong about this i have no proof#lewis doesn't speak italian and got in the way of ferrari winning championships multiple times#will he be considered to “eat sleep breathe ferrari” to some of y'all? nope!#the lecfosi who hate anything Carlos does should be happier that he's a step below Charles when it comes to qualifying and race pace#because Lewis will be more competitive and more of a threat to Charles's championship prospecfs#tldr: i don't believe in this honeymoon 1644 that is currently happening in 2024#also the ferrari-coded driver discourse is really stupid please argue about something more relevant / important#the lecfosi who dislike Carlos and want him out of Ferrari so Charles can prosper only for him to be replaced by the most successful driver#is not good news for y'all 🫵#yes tensions will rise and there is a reason why it's been historically hard for 2 first drivers to co-exist in the same team#f1#formula 1#lewis hamilton#charles leclerc#carlos sainz
