I think if you don't want someone ranting about you to the entire world on radio you shouldn't do things worth ranting about. Just a thought.

carlos's radio message of “ gap to lando every lap" and carlos intentionally slowing down just enough to keep lando within drs range , lando understanding the signal. when told by his race engineer about the gap (0.8) carlos goes like “ it's on purpose ”. do you understand how much coordination, trust and intimacy you have to have with THAT driver to have that amount of telepathy with? like. nobody apart from CarLando could pull that off. i repeat, nobody else.

Beyond The Grid // Chasing Championships in Ferrari Red
[TC] "You've been with Carlos now for four years. What will you miss about him?" [CL] "I think just Carlos, the person. I think we get on very, very well. Unfortunately, with the world as it is now, everything is over-analyzed, over-criticized. But the reality of things is that we always had a really good relationship. Yes, there's been many moments where, inside the helmet, I hated him and he hated me because we didn't view the situation in the same way. But everything was fixed after a discussion between us two... We had a lot of memorable moments that I will...yeah, remember forever."

singapore was CRAZY bc wdym carlando held off a two-pronged mercedes war machine on brand new mediums, hungry for blood, hunting them down, nipping at their heels, with nothing but 42-lap-old hards and the good old power of friendship??!
this is cinema. that is main character behavior.

Okay, this so very off brand for me and I am a Carlos enjoyer but this race just rubbed me the wrong way. Complaining twice over the radio about your teammate getting too close, which then forces him to slow down, which leads him to be overtaken is not really a great way of winning. I get it, team orders and all, but I don’t remember Charles having to ask his team to tell Carlos to slow down to win, and that’s why Ferrari was able to get that 1-2 in COTA, because both cars could push their pace. We could visibly see Charles holding back today, and then once he eventually gets caught Ferrari has the balls to tell him over the radio to try harder???
It’s a massive Ferrari failure in my opinion. They should have let their drivers race, albeit gently, and if Charles proved to have the pace and ability to pass Carlos, they should have let him. They screwed themselves out of a 1-2 in order to please a driver who won’t even be with them next year. Makes me really worried to see how they will treat Charles once Lewis is on the team. They clearly have no issue fucking him over even when he is fighting for 2nd in the WDC.
I’m not sure if I should tag this anti Carlos or not because I don’t hate him, I’m mostly just disappointed in the team, and to a small extent him. I think it was a bit hypocritical for him to ask his teammate to slow down so he can keep the lead (Charles literally was in DRS range early in the race, and was told to back off) when he has tried to push on his teammate before when Charles had the lead. I would be thrilled for a Carlos win if his and Ferrari’s decisions hadn’t cost them a 1-2, just as I would be fine with the team orders. But in this case all I can be is disappointed in both of them for screwing their title fighting driver over.
I think I’ll tag it just to be safe. For the record this is no hate on Carlos as a person, just a little bit of frustration toward him as a racer.

On the supposed breaching of a previous agreement
After so much misinformation has been debunked, the one item I’ve seen repeated again and again is that there was a prior agreement which Carlos supposedly broke - but Charles gave no actual information about what the agreement was.
Surely the logical conclusion to draw is that we simply don’t know what the agreement was, and so we cannot cast shade on either Charles nor Carlos off the back of the statement. We simply do not know.
Specifically, while we do know Charles subjectively thought an agreement was broken, we do not have any ability to evaluate whether that conclusion is objectively true. Indeed, we don’t even know whether Charles, when making that statement, even had all the facts to hand (given he is not privy to Carlos’ radio messages and debriefing had not yet happened).
In this context the statement from Charles cannot be taken as objective truth. At most, it is a clear indication he was feeling subjectively frustrated.
The response I’ve seen from all over social media seems to be “let’s take Charles’s word for it that trust was breached, even if we don’t know what the agreement was”.
We have no facts. We have no information. We cannot draw conclusions as to what the agreement was, and therefore we cannot know if Carlos actually breached it.
Until (if ever) we have more information, Charles’ comment can only be taken as evidencing his frustration, and no more.

A note about Carlos, mostly about Jeddah
I gotta rant because I've just been seeing a lot of opinions about what has happened to Carlos within the last week. And instead of just going under every single post explaining why you're wrong, I'm just going to write an essay. The real tumblr experience is getting emotionally invested in something, and putting more effort into your writing on here than school or work. With that being said, if you dislike Carlos then this is not the post for you 🤷‍♀️
The "This is the first time Ferrari has felt like a family in a long time" comments are very mean. It's actually been bothering me since last Friday. Y'all saw a man visibility sick from a condition, and he probably knew he shouldn't have jumped in the car in the first place, try and persevere just for our entertainment/ his dedication to the team, just to say that it felt more like a family when he wasn't driving has rubbed me the wrong way. Granted, I think it was dumb for him to leave the hospital against doctor's orders and go to the paddock. However, that shows how passionate he is about Ferrari. He did not have to send message wishing Ollie good luck, or show up to the Ferrari garage to watch the race in person. But he did it anyways because he genuinely loves Ferrari and has done so much for the team (you guys who continuously say that he's not a team player do not watch the same race as i do or you just straight up don't like him. But don't discredit him because you feel some type of way for whatever reason). You don't need to hear it come out of Carlos's mouth to hear how heartbreaking that is. It's his last year with the team, and he has one less chance to drive the car he's been working his whole career towards driving. Why is it that he's spoken endlessly about how much he loves Ferrari and some of y'all have convinced yourself that he doesn't. Saying that because his family members like tweets or share Instagram stories that you don't agree with is such a cop-out excuse. From what I have seen, nothing he has said or done would lead me to believe that he's not truly a dedicated member of the Ferrari family. Yes Ferrari has had periods where the team was very disjointed and fragmented. But here in 2024, that is not the case.

One thing Charles needs to calm down with, is his constant criticism of himself. Okay, you made a mistake, think about it. Charles will ramble on about how bad he did, how it was his disappointment. To some extent, I understand why. But at the same time, he’s been told many times by Fred and indirectly Max and Carlos that he’s being too hard on himself.
Charles, I love you and all, but think first.

Something I need certain fans to understand is that most of us are not begrudging Carlos getting a 10 in the Aramco Power rankings.
But can you pls tell me how Max can get a Grand Slam and still not get a 10? - Bahrain 2024, ranking 9.6
Or, and this one is honestly even worse imo, how Max can clean sweep the entire weekend - lead FP1, FP2, FP3; get pole, lead every lap, get fastest lap, win the race (by 20+ seconds), get a Grand Slam - and still only get a 9.6 in the rankings? - Spain 2023
We are criticizing the inconsistency and frankly said, the clear bias of those rankings.
