I genuinely want to know what it would take for red bull to put Yuki in the main team, because he's beaten all of his teammates apart from Pierre(which it was only his first season), this season he scored over half of his teams total points, like realistically what else can he do? Liam hasn't even driven a full season yet, and honestly from his performances last/thos year I don't see why the judgement was made to bring him up.

he's a criminal

has 0 penalty points, so can commit more crimes without repercussion

he has proven that he's ready to sacrifice himself for his blonde dutch speaking teammate

he would support max in all his atrocities and crusade against the fia (as he has done post mexico)

it isnt f1, but charles and alex were actually teammates and rivals in gp3 (roughly equivalent to f3 now) and have remained good friends ever since, so maybe that has something to do with their duo being sort of popular?

I actually forgot about that😭 It definitely helps but I'm kinda meaning more so the pr media videos and challenges(like Ferrari with c^2 challenges)which I feel like only more recently became a way to push a friendship narrative between teammates in F1 and sort of in F2

So they definitely had the benefit of having a good relationship previously but I don't think their popularity was due to that, I think mostly the twitch streams during covid helped!

Charles is such an interesting case in the F1 duos because a majority of F1 duos are only popular because they are/were teammates so they had the pr media, but most of Charles' more popular duos he's never been teammates with. Max, Pierre, Oscar, Lewis, Alex, ect. I think it is quite interesting at least as many other popular duos(yukierre, carlando, landoscar) were teammates first.

I don't know where I'm going with this I was just thinking about it and thought it was interesting

I can't stop thinking about how all the other popular pairings (Ch*rlos, Carl*ndo, even Land*scar) rely so heavily on the PR around them. They thrive on the fact that they are publicly friends/teammates. (In the case of the first pairing that is the ONLY thing they have going for them). Meanwhile, lestappen are out here without any public connection to each other, without any joint PR, they're so not publicly friends that they don't even follow each other on sm. And yet... and yet we get so much content of them when they don't know they're being recorded, of them just talking or playing padel or hanging out with the same people and it makes you wonder. It makes you wonder indeed.

The power they have in the fandom, the popularity they have, all that with barely any targeted content. And no, RBR admin posting videos of them talking after a session recorded from far away does not count as content, because where are the song guessing videos, the team games etc etc that all the other pairing get? Nonexistent.

Lestappen has gained this immense following out of nothing. If we got regular actual lestappen PR content I genuinely think their popularity would be scary. If they are beating everyone in ao3 like this what numbers will they do if we had ACTUAL content like the other popular pairings get? Because the numbers all those other pairing are doing is BECAUSE of the PR. And everyone is lying to themselves if they say it's not. Half of these ships would die if there was no content I'm being so serious right now.

And yet here lestappen are. Please think about that for 2 minutes and tell me you don't want to go jump off a cliff.
