Something Interesting About Snoopy

I've been thinking about Snoopy, and I’ve thought about something interesting about him.

In the first year or two of the Peanuts comic strip, Snoopy was actually a fairly normal dog at first. But around 1954 onward his character changed to him performing fantasies and not wanting to just be a normal dog, albeit they started off as Snoopy pretending to be other animals or other people only, until later evolving into more crazy ones like pretending to be a WW1 Flying Ace, Joe Cool, FlashBeagle, etc.

But what’s really interesting in some of these 50s strips, is that there are multiple strips I’ve seen that show Snoopy actually hating to be a dog.

Even though later on Snoopy can be proud to be a dog, there are actually multiple strips where he used to be really sad/self-loathing of being a dog and even wishes he wasn’t one (There was even one where he thought “If I was a human being I wouldn’t even own a dog!”).

Now think about how later on the strip reveals that Snoopy used to have a previous owner named Lila. Lila and Snoopy really loved each other, he was so heartbroken when she had to leave. It was too much for him to see Lila again when she came to visit, he raced as fast as he could to the hospital to see her, and he burst to tears in Snoopy Come Home.

But if you think about it, when Snoopy was with Lila, he acted completely like a normal dog with her? Aside from playing instruments in a band as a puppy, when he was with Lila he acted completely like a normal dog, even happily playing normal dog games such as playing fetch (While Snoopy later on almost always refuses to play fetch with anyone).

In fact Snoopy only started to refuse to do things like a normal dog like doing dog commands incorrectly, walking on two feet all the time, sleeping on top of his doghouse instead of in it, etc., was right after CB adopted him.

And I know it was different in the strip, but in the the special Snoopy’s Reunion it was stated that Lila had to give up Snoopy back to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm because no dogs were allowed in her apartment.

It’s possible that Snoopy was so heart broken being left by Lila, along with other things (Other strips show Snoopy struggling/hating the fact that he had to be separated from his family in the first place, getting kicked out of places that have no dogs allowed too, and more stuff like that), so he could have internalized hating to be just a dog, and so that's how he started to become the dog that refuse to be an ordinary beagle we all know and love.

The best part of this is that this could actually be a callback to one of the very early strips of Schroeder first playing the piano (the kids used to be younger than now btw if anyone is confused)

Even as he got older he still played the little one, so here this is the first time he has ever played on an actual real big piano, and it made him nervous to play. But Lucy coming to him made him feel better! 🥰💕

Right this thought has plagued me all day so here's what I think the poets would be insecure about (yes these are all mini essay's, no I will not stop and write hc like a normal person)

Todd: I think he used to be a bit chubby as a kid, not fat or anything just a little extra weight that kids lose when they hit growth spurts and shit. (He doesn't have a good relationship with food) I think his peers would have made fun of him and his mother would have been very sad about it, cause Jeff was never like that and blah blah. (It's one of the memories that haunt him) also his teeth and hair. Like this man spends AGES styling it and hair cuts terrify him.

How quite he is, he desperately wants to be confident but can't and lays awake thinking about how he acted that day worrying about it and stuff. (He talks bad about himself.in his head alot)

Neil: how skinny he is, I hc that he was always really skinny even as a kid. And the others kids def thought he was weird and he was also super light and could get shoved around easy so he never played with the boys which made it worse. (He invest into his personality and by the time he was like 9 or 10 he started getting popular)

He also trys really hard to be perfect and used to read books on how to be more likable as a kid.

Meeks: his freakles, I don't think he likes them alot. No particular reason I think he just never sees anyone famous with them and he thinks he'd look sm better with out them. Also his hair, I think he wishes it wasn't curly cause its such a pain to take care of and it can look so ratty somtimes. (Also wants to dye his hair a light brown but can't cause he knows he'd break his mam's heart)

Pitts: fuck me literally everything this man hates sm about himself its not ok. He doesn't like his height at all and how lanky he is. He really wants yo be a bit shorter and have more muscles. Also his hair and how he moves, sense he's so tall he's a bit awkward when he walks and stuff and it's all he can think about somtimes. (Its effect his running performance more than once)

also how he acts, like how loud/energetic he is, his reactions and faces he makes (he's really bad at hiding his emotions). He trys to plan things ahead of time so he won't hate how he reacts/trys to make his self act different but always forgets and can't.

Charile: this isn't so much an insurcerty but he has a desperate need to be liked, it comes from his parents giving him 0 attention his entire life and he definitely lacked friends as a kid cause he just didn't know how to act. So he made up for it by being loud and cocky.

I think he would try act like the popular boys from movies and TV shoes in hopes he'd be liked to.

Knox: I'm not really sure, knox doesn't strike me as a very insecure person. Mabye food, I'm not sure why but he def doesn't like eating alot. I think it stems from his father, like they gain weight more easy due to genes so his dad is very strict about him not eating to much or smth.

Cameron: also his weight, but more his build. He is a normal weight and some 'fat' (its is muscles just not defined) that he hates and trys to get ride of. Also his freakles but mostly his teeth, he def had buck teeth or an overbite as a kid that he got badly bullied for (got fixed with braces when he was 8 cause he cried begging to his parents to) also his hand and ears, he thinks his hands are to fat and his ears stick out to much. Also not exactly insecurity but how scared he is of breaking the rules. He really wants to break them and be reckless, but due to his upbringing and the stress put on him by his family its hard. He's always wanted to even as a kid ans thinks he'd have true friends (and the poets would like him more, specifically Charlie) if he did loose up and tried many times over the years but just can't.

He also really hates himself, like if you heard how he thinks of himself you'd probably cry and hug him and book him therapy immediately.

Mr keating: his height (our short king) not sm sense he got married but as a teen especially it was somthing he was bullied alot for it. (Mostly by his brothers) also his interests, definitely got called girlie and nerdy for his interest by his peers and brothers, so he doesn't talk about them much around his family.

(I'm don't know these characters very well so sorry of there bad/don't make sense)

Chris: how she dresses, she trys really hard to make sure her outfit looks perfect and is up to date with trends. She was friendly with the popular girls as a kid and saw how they treat other girls who they thought look/dressed poorly and how quick they'd switch up on each other if they didn't stay in trend. So now she's terrified of her friends doing that to her.

Ginny: how boyish she is, she's always been a tomboy especially as a kid and as much as she loved it she also hated it. She had a very lonely childhood sense the girls though the was weird so they left her out alot, were fake or just straight up ignored her. And the boys made fun of her alot (so did he brother). And her parents (especially her mother) were very disappointed and made it clear. Her mother wanted a little princess she could dress up

When she hit puberty she kinda became more girlie, like she still perfers comfert over looking perfect but she'll were make-up and dresses now. She had friends now and there lovely but she still feels a little isolated (and feels like she always will) and like she's missing somthing, especially when their all talking about sleepovers and stuff from when they were young sense she never had any of that.

my favorite thing about a boy named charlie brown is how linus reminds charile — and in turn the viewer — that you make mistakes and you feel disappointment and maybe nothing feels worth getting out bed for but it’s okay!! the earth is still turning!! people are still living in that world outside your door. and when you’re ready to pull up the curtains, push back the covers, and get dressed one step at a time, you’ll be able to rejoin that world. and there will still be things that make you smile. and all your problems may not be fixed — you may not kick that football — but you’re breathing in the fresh air and feeling the sunlight on your skin so maybe that’s okay.

Hello everyone, this is me MaleficentFanatic1999 speaking?

Today, I'm gonna do my movie review on The Peanuts Movie so anyways here it goes.

So in the beginning of the movie?

It has "Woodstock" flying, Snoopy sleeps on the top of his Dog House then he wakes up.

&

The gang goes outside and enjoyed their Winter Break.

After it's over, they head to school, studying for some stuff.

They're doing some talent shows, which is awesome.

Then later Snoopy goes on adventures and fight some enemies.

Then Snoopy looks for "Fifi" which is a poodle, when they fight and then saved her before it's too late.

After that Snoopy saves Fifi, and then the war story ended.

Then Charlie Brown meets the Little Red-Haired Girl and then she goes on the Bus to go home.

&

All that stuff, so this is how I describe the story is?

I think this movie is awesome, because it's my favorite Blue Sky Studios movie of all-time along with Rio 1&2, Robots Ice Age 1-5, and some of the other movies are my favorites.

So what do I think about this movie?

I enjoyed it, and I was laughing my ass off on this movie.

Well get to the ending later.

The story in this movie is great, i really enjoyed the story.

The characters are great,

The music is brilliant,

The background looks cool,

&

Everything in this movie looks awesome!

WOW! The ending is funny, when Lucy holds the football they said "Charlie Brown. Oh Charile Brown. I hold the Football and you kick it."

Then after that when Charile Brown trying to kick the football to the moon guess what he screams, and fails just like in "A Great Pumpkin Charile Brown" "A Charile Brown Thanksgiving" and of course "A Boy Named Charile Brown"

Those are really good cartoons.I really enjoy them, and I gave them a 10/10. It was awesome, and masterpiece!

Like holy shit! That ending was very funny and I was laughing my ass at that scene.

Tanizaki was sitting in the room with a resting Charlie who was bandaged up. However, he hopes she was alright. He wasn't expecting to see her out there but right now it's a blood mess out there. Though, he was lucky to have found her before she got killed. He wonders what she did look like given she was wearing a brown jumpsuit with huge headwear tunic over her head and shoulders. She wears a white mask that looked to be spilt in two. However, he was curious to who she was.

"........"

Thinking about it, he knew Cobin already checked her and knew her infection early stages were starting. Right now, he will help her when she wakes up. He did hope she was alright but he wonders of the ones infected. As he looks to her Charlie remains asleep for the time being but as he reaches to touch her hand.

"!?" Charlie sits up gasping to look around as she seems to have snapped awake.

"Woah woah easy now!" he said holding her shoulders. "Easy....Your in a safe place." Tanizaki said but Charile panted softly to look ahead but looks up to see him.

"......Wait...you. You were...." She winces from her shoulder but he helps her lay back down.

"Easy and yes, good to see your back among the living. Though, you should be resting..your in a safe place now. Were back at Port mafia." he said.

".....Port mafia? Hold on.....did you...carry me back here?" she asked.

"I did. I tried to help the group you were with but...." He looks to the left but sighed. "They got eaten or killed by the infected." he said.

"............" Charlie said nothing but she remembers. She had a team with her looking around for clues or civilians but only got ambushed by those things. However, she blacked out when one hits her. She even reaches to touch her shoulder feeling the bandages.

".....I...I was bitten wasn't I?"

".....Yes..."

She remains quiet but grips the jumpsuit when Tanizaki looks to her.

"But...It's fine. I taken the position to help you. I'll be here to help you when the urges hit. Or help you while you recover." he said.

"...You? Your offering to help me?"

"Yes. Though, right now. I'll be here if you need help." he said only for her to be quiet but lays back again to look up at the ceiling. This was going to be a pain.

~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~

"Ryu...are you sure your going to be okay?" Matt looks to see Ryu sitting down and yet, he was remaining quiet after some time. Seeing the reports from Mori. However, this made him see Ryu shaking a little.

"Are the urges coming back?" Matt said.

"....No...No, I'm alright." he said but Ryu was resting against Matt while he was petting him. He can see him close his eyes but he was doing his best to ignore the infection. Seems it's growing stronger now but he was still here for him.

"Ryu, as I said before, if you need to then please eat if you must. I will still help you no matter what. I'll give you my blood to help ease the urge." he said.

"...I know....thanks Matt." he said but Matt closes his eyes as he was being held while laying on the bed. However, Matt was worried about Chuuya and Sid.

~~~~With Chuya and Sid~~~~~

"Sid...Sid, come on. You have to calm down..I want to help you." Chuya had to try keeping her down even if she was thrashing and hissing in the room. She's been like this for a while now after he brought her back. She was held down by Chuya's gravity but she was struggling while wincing.

"Sid!"

She hissed at him even from the cloak she was wearing, she sounded mad. He wanted to help her even if she was hungry. He didn't want her to get hurt. "Listen Sid, I know it hurts. I know but you have to fight this. Your stronger than this!" he said. She still kept thrashing but he didn't want her to get hurt.

Seeing her like this worried him that it also told him she hasn't been drinking the hospital blood given to her. Or she might have been draining it in the toilet. However, he was thinking only for Sid to try forcing herself to break out of his hold. He noticed to see this. She was going to hurt herself.

"Sid no!" He had no choice but to let her go before Sid sits up now having purple hands slam Chuya down as she was panting feeling more hungry. She heads to him needing to eat! She needed blood so damn badly that Chuya was chocking seeing her near to grip his shirt that she saw purple hands ripping it showing his shoulder.

"S..Sid...w..wake u..up.." he chocked trying to snap her out of it even if she was about to move her mask up slightly that Chuya saw parted lips with two fangs seen.

She lowers down now about to bite him to finally eat. After so long she was going to feed for once.

"SID! Wake up!" he said as she was about to bite his neck hearing his voice made her stop to tense. She gasped only for Chuya to stop her as his gift grabs her but she hits him back only for him to gasp coughing for air.

Sid looks silent but she felt a slight tug on her cloak only to feel something slip off. Chuya was coughing holding his throat but Sid panted only to rush to him.

"Chuya!? Chuya...I..I'm so sorry..I..I didn't mean to.." she said but when Chuya opens his eyes to look his words were caught in his throat.

Right in front of him he saw a beautiful young woman with dark brown hair down to her shoulders or a bit longer, white bangs and soft pale features. She even looks to have beautiful pink glowing eyes however he was speechless looking at her.

"........"

"..Chuya?"

"...Your beautiful....b..but.....You.....your cloak....."

"..My....cloak....." Sid slowly looks to the mirror only to her eyes widening. Her cloak! Where was her cloak!? She looks to see it laying there on the ground but she quickly looked nervous only to back up to look away but grabs her cloak.

"Sid?"

"....I..I'm sorry...you shouldn't...I...." she winces feeling her stomach hurt again from the hunger but Chuya saw her about to put the cloak back on.

"Wait!....you...."

"....P..Please don't...I'm not.....I....."

"Why didn't you tell me you didn't eat anything Sid? I could have helped you..I...." he was trying not to be speechless from how cute she looked but Sid didn't respond.

"..I didn't...want to worry anyone and you...please just.....I'm fine....I'm fine."

"Your not fine....Sid, you have to drink some blood before you lose it again..it's fine. I said I would help you..please..I want to help you." he said but Sid grips her cloak not looking at him. She didn't want anyone to see her like this..not like this. As Chuya walks over to her...

"Sid.."

"Don't! I'm not safe to be around r..right now..I..feel.."

"I know..Your hungry....you need blood but I told you I want to help you..please let me help you. I want to help you Sid..please. You can trust me." he said but she only remains quiet while her pink eyes were half way open shaking.

"........I never...wanted you to see me like this..I never wanted anyone to see me like this.." she said but Chuya looks to her only to gently be behind her that he carefully wraps his arms around her that Sid remains quiet that he carefully helps her sit down but keeps holding her as Sid remains quiet.

"........."

"I'm sorry......."

"You have nothing to say sorry for...but with you reacting as you did, you need blood...you already tried attacking me so it tells me enough." he said looking ahead but Sid only bit her bottom lip, feeling angry that she lost it like that. She was never like this that Chuya sighed.

"I'll say it again Sid. I will be here to help you...even if you try to push me away..I'm not leaving..I'm helping you." he said.

"...but.....but I-"

"No buts. I'm offering my blood to you Sid to help. I want to...so please....if your not ready that's fine but you'll have to drink the medicine blood...so it's that..or me." he said. "Or have you been drinking them?" he asked.

".....I..."

"Hmmm?"

"I h..have....but...that blood makes me sick...I cough it back up right away....I cant' have cold blood..I have to have it fresh..f..from the source.." she said.

".......So from someone that's warm so your stomach can take it." he said seeing her quiet. However, Chuya reaches to rest his hand on her fists that she looks to them then at him.

"Like I said, I'm helping you...if you need it...drink from me. I'll be fine..I promise." he said.

"........" However, Sid shook seeing him and where she ripped his shirt to try feeding from him. She looks away but in due time she will have to. Either that or she'll attack someone again.

"Sid?"

"..G...give me a moment..please...I..I need to think...but don't leave me okay? Just stay. I don't trust myself right now to be alone." she said that Chuya sighed to nod.

"I won't." he said keeping her close but this worried him. Seems it was adapting now. Then won't it mean others infected go through the same.

Somewhere else, Jaron was panting heavily as he snaps away from his sleep. He saw he, Rust, Breezy, and Melinda was sleeping in a hidden area of the safehouse to avoid being noisy here. He covers his eyes to take some time to relax but he just woke up from a rather....heated and weird dream. He wasn't sure why but he slowly lets out a breath then slowly looks seeing Melinda sleeping beside him.

She was curled up by his side while being covered by a blanket they found here. Rust was sleeping by Breezy as well but Jaron only looks to her but he only feels his urges strong but also more intense? It felt off to him that he wanted to almost claim her as his and his alone. No no what was he thinking? He covers his face but the movement woke Melinda to blink and look up at him.

"J..Jaron? You okay?" she asked sleepy that he looks to her but saw her sleepy. He didn't mean to wake her.

"...I'm alright...I didn't mean to wake you." he said laying back down but looks to her as Melinda was looking at him with her silver eyes. Still pretty.

"Mmm..are you sure? Did you have a nightmare?" she asked.

"No no..I'm alright....just woke up for a moment....go back to sleep." he said to kiss her forehead. However, she blinks to close her eyes again to rest. However, Jaron looks to her but he reaches to touch her cheek with the back of his hand caressing her cheek. However, his fingers move down to stroke against her neck. Right where he feeds from her. The sudden urge to feed was coming but he ignores it.

"........" Even if he fangs ached, his stomach was calm but burning with the need of her. He only sighed to move his hand but he knew Rust felt the same or knew but he didn't get into his business. For now, Jaron knew or hopes the others were alright or not going through this. However, he moves to pull Melinda close against his chest to hold her as she sleep.

With his golden yellow eyes glowing in the dark, he only held her close. 'I won't lose it..I won't...stay strong..for your friends..for yourself..and her. No matter how badly you want her...stay strong....' he thought only to try and get some sleep again.

The night still goes on with everyone resting up for now.
