I’ve made this exact take before but people making those “Jonathan disappointed in his descendants crimes >:(“ posts are so god damn phantom blood illiterate it hurts. Jonathan’s best friend was a man who on first meeting him tried to cut his skull/chest open with a bladed hat. He managed to “redeem” said man and his buddies without even really stopping them from doing the whole crimes thing. Fucks sake even until the end he never gave up on loving DIO of all people. (i must clarify to the freaks: loving as a brother. sickos go away.)
I think he’d be a bit scared of the shit Giorno gets up to but seeing Gio’s reasoning I feel he’d have some trepidatious respect for it. And outside that like, Jolyne committing petty theft and beating the shit outta nasty people? Josuke committing petty theft, unpetty theft in the event of estranged dad, and beating the shit outta people? Jotaro calling his mom a bitch when he was literally neurodivergent and a minor??? Fucks sake the only one I’d really see him being ashamed of is Joseph, I’d hope for the whole “well some of those nazis turned out to be good people despite our differences!” shit but at the VERY least for cheating on Suzi.

Obi-Wan Hurt/Comfort and Whump Rec 1: Long Fics
Some of my favorite multi-chaptered or longer form fics (>10K). These are whump, sickfics, angst fics, and hurt/comfort with some very general tags and descriptions. Please make sure you note the tags on ao3 before reading.
I tried to tag everyone I could find here on tumblr, but if you see your fic and want a tag, let me know and I'll add it in. To all the writers, thank you for these fics, I have read each of them multiple times and I am fucking in love with all of them.
Here we go, in no particular order:
Good Man of War - scrapathon
Codywan, OC clones and medics, 16.2K
This fic is so well written and it has some really well-characterized OC clones, including clone medic Zero, as well as a bit of codywan (which I can't resist).
Things Hidden, Things Forgotten- sospes
Codywan, Zygerria/Kadavo arc, 23.5K
This writer has some of the best codywan fics on their roster, but this one absolutely destroys me everytime. This fic covers Zygerria and gets into some of the emotional aspects of the experience for Obi-Wan.
Shoulder the Sky - @kcrabb88
Quinobi, rewritten ending for Palpatine, 149.4K
This fic is part one of the Shoulder the Sky Verse series and is one of my favorite fics of all time. This fic is incredibly detailed, and every character get's their time in the spotlight. The Obi-Wan whump is absolutely delicious, and lasts basically the entirety of this fic. The plot follows Obi-Wan's discovery of the identity of Darth Sidious and how this changes the course of the end days of the Clone Wars.
Whispers from the Dead - @kcrabb88
Quinobi, PTSD and medical trauma, 210K as of 8.14.2023 (WIP)
Another part of the Shoulder the Sky Verse series (please read the fic above first). This fic is a WIP and every time there is a new chapter I drop everything to read it. Equally as emotionally damaging, equally as much whump, and equally perfect characterizations of every single character. I won't spoil the plot, but it's a perfect continuation of the series.
Gaping Hollow - Walpger
Gen - Obi-Wan, Cody, and Ahsoka, Force-exhaustion and hypothermia, 18.1K
Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Cody are trapped in a cave on the ice-planet Vandor and Obi-Wan uses the Force to keep them both warm and alive. This leads to impending Force-exhaustion. This is one of the earliest Obi-Wan-centric h/c fics I read and I love how the author describes Obi-Wan's use of the Force.
Enforced Convalescence - @swbumblebee
Gen - Obi-Wan, clones, and Jedi, sickfic/illness and fluff, 12.5K
Obi-Wan is ill and requires babysitting because he doesn't really know how to rest. This fic is endlessly soft, and Obi-Wan gets taken care of for once in his life. This author writes delightfully soft fics and this one is one of my absolute favorites.
Uja Nejah - @ijustreallylovedaredevil
Gen - Obi-Wan, OC clone medic Stim, clone troopers, Cody, diabetes and medical accuracy, 34.2K
Possibly my favorite fic of all time? Perhaps? Anything by whitchry9 is pure gold and this fic is only one example. This fic follows Obi-Wan's journey through his life as a Jedi diagnosed with diabetes. Deliciously whump, and my favorite OC clone medic, stim. You might as well read the whole series: a series of fics in which Obi Wan Kenobi having a disability somehow saves the galaxy
Iviin’hiibi te Tuur - @ijustreallylovedaredevil
Gen - Obi-Wan, OC clone medic Stim, clone troopers, Cody, epilepsy and medical accuracy, 16.4K
Surprise, surprise, yet another whitchry9 fic. This one is about Obi-Wan's life with epilepsy. This fic also has Stim and has a few extra oneshots that can be read with it.
every shadow - @kenobster
Gen - Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex, Ahsoka, Cody, 501st, Zygerria/Kadavo arc and recovery, 34.9K as of 8.14.2023 (WIP)
This fic is a WIP and at 3/9 chapters, so I am going to to use part of the author's summary here: "during the mass casualty event following Kadavo and Zygerria, Obi-Wan and Anakin seek ways to cope with trauma." I am absolutely glued to this fic, and have already read all three chapters multiple times.
Finding Obi-Wan - @stolen-pen-name23
Gen - Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka, amnesia and angst, 86.8K
For the record, I think I read the entirety of this fic in one day because I just couldn't put it down. In this fic, Obi-Wan loses his memory and finds himself in the lower levels of Coruscant.
something inside this heart has died (you're in ruins) - revanchxst (BadWolfGirl01)
Codywan (implied or pre-slash), Zygerria/Kadavo arc, 22.6K
In this fic, Cody joins Obi-wan on the Zygerria arc rather than Rex. Very painful with a sprinkling of codywan. 1000 kudos for this fic.
The Consequences of a Crash - happygiraffe
Gen or pre-slash Obi-Wan & Anakin, crash-landing injury/infection, 44.9K
ALRIGHT. Alright. This is the first long-fic I read in this fandom, and remains one of my favorites to this day. Delicious whump, a really wonderful look at Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship, especially as Anakin has just become a Jedi Knight. I reread this one at least once a month.
See My Dreams All Die - @hellotemporaryuniverse
Obi-Wan & Cody (implied codywan), torture by Darth Sidious, 34.7K
This fic is absolutely brutal in the best way. In this fic, Anakin dies and Sidious is looking for a new apprentice. Such good whump.
From the Same Stone - @kckenobi
Gen - Obi-Wan & Anakin, concussion and poisoning, 8.1K
I'm already breaking my own rules, because this fic is under 10K, but this fic is one of my favorites and it's just long enough that it felt like it should be included on this list. In this fic, Obi-Wan and Anakin get trapped in a mine and are slowly ingesting a toxin.
|to failure, sweet victor| - littlekaracan
Codywan, angst and physical fights, 20K
This fic is as fucking bittersweet as it gets. Absolutely destroys me with every read. This fic follows Obi-Wan and Cody on Tatooine, but Cody's chip can't be removed until it has deteriorated to a certain point. As a result, sometimes Cody isn't quite himself.
battle scars - series - @calltomuster
Gen - Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Anakin, PTSD and medical trauma, 27.2K
This series gets into some of Obi-Wan's medical trauma and why avoids medical treatment. I can't get enough of the OC clone medic, Fuzzy, and I love how well the author writes Obi-Wan's PTSD.
shoulder the sky - series - Night_Fury
Codywan, Cerasi & Obi-Wan Kenobi & Nield, Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan, PTSD, temporary death, recovery, 196.1K
What can I say about this series? Probably too much. You will just need to read it to find out. Just read it.
chronic conditions - @deniigi
Codywan and clones, epilepsy and chronic illness, 13.1K
Yet another epileptic Obi-wan fic, this one through the lens of Kix and Cody. I am absolutely mesmerized by how this author writes, and I keep going back to this one over and over again.
Six Times Ahsoka Thought Her Grandmaster Was Dead, and the One Time He Actually Was - @pandora15 and lazarusII
Gen - Obi-Wan & Ahsoka, deathfic, 12.3K
The title says it all. You will be in pain.
heavy off a golden hue - @catboydogma
Codywan, hanahaki and chronic illness, 36.7K
This is a series which looks at Obi-Wan's life with chronic Hanahaki. This is such an amazing series, another set of fics I read in one sit-down.
Suddenly this is defeat - ealcynn
Gen, Landing at Point Rain and major injury, 13.3K
This fic is in first-person POV and does an incredible job of portraying Obi-Wan's perspective on the events based on the episode Landing at Point Rain.
This incessant snow - ealcynn
Gen, Landing at Point Rain and major injury, 20.7K
Part two to the above fic. Another extremely well-written fic. I absolutely adore the way Obi-Wan is written.
We Can Be Beautiful - OuzoAthena11
Codywan, panic attacks, 23.2K
The fic summary on ao3 says it best, "Five times Obi-Wan deals with anxiety or a panic attack and one time he causes minor anxiety in someone else." Really well written and soft fic.
Count My Little Scars I've Got Dozens Inside - nuclearturtle
Codywan (as adults), angst and de-aging, 27.1K
A de-aged Obi-Wan fic where Dooku attempts to gain his trust, but inevitably, doesn't. Very angsty. Extremely angsty.
Conjuring Miracles - @kcrabb88
Gen - Obi-Wan, Leia, Tala, Vader, PTSD, 29.8K
Another one by this author. In this fic, Tala doesn't get to Obi-Wan in time, and he ends up being taken with Leia to the the inquisitor base. There, he encounters Vader.
Rapture - @galateagalvanized
Codywan, depowered character, 62.5K
I think the summary on ao3 says it best, "An independent terrorist cell has developed a weapon capable of severing the bond between a Jedi and the Living Force. They test it on High General Obi-Wan Kenobi." Wonderful whump mixed with a great story, and of course, codywan.
Always Gold - happygiraffe
Gen - Obi-Wan & Anakin, terminal illness/cancer, 10K
In this fic, Obi-Wan is dying of cancer and just wants the best for his padawan. Prepare yourself, this one hurts.
As an Obi-Wan whump writer myself, I can't help but throw a couple of my own here (not that these are by any means on par with the quality of the incredible fics above). I have linked a couple below if you are interested:
orbit me slowly
Codywan, burns and recovery, 15.3K
After an injury leaves Obi-Wan down and out, he realizes that time isn't as unlimited as he once believed
green is the colour
Codywan, sickfic and injury, 14K
Obi-Wan, sick with the flu, is cornered by hundreds of droids. Cody and Anakin come to his rescue, but there is unresolved tension between them.
Hope you all enjoy this list!

Ghoul Files: Aether
Welcome to my little series of ghoul character sheets. The Files are basically little living documents of how I headcanon/characterize each ghoul. I've made one for every ghoul (yes every ghoul) and I'll be slowly uploading them alphabetically by era just for the hell of it.
Starting with Impera/Prequelle we have Aether :3
Check out his design here !
Name: Aether
Element: quintessence
Pronouns: he/him
Powers: can heal minor to moderate wounds, soothe emotions, hypnosis, can read surface-level thoughts (has to be focused in order to dig any deeper), can read emotions, dream share
Love language (giving): He is very versatile and will adapt but his default is acts of service and physical touch.
Love language (receiving): gift-giving by far. He melts when someone hands him something because it makes them think of him. Also physical touch. Big boy likes to hold and be held.
Pairings: When not with the whole pack Aether can typically be found in the company of Dew and Mountain. He tries to have time with Zephyr and Ifrit but it’s so hard with how busy he is, so he clings to the others from his original Topside pack. However, since the summoning of Phantom he also sticks to them. He wants to be a good influence on the little bug.
Influential Others: Omega is probably one of the most influential people in Aether’s life. He taught him how to play guitar for the band. He taught him more about his quintessence than he could’ve ever discovered on his own. Even after all this time and all his experience, he can’t see himself as equal to Omega. Omega will always be his mentor. Cirrus also means a lot to him. She’s the ghoul who finally got him to take a chill pill, finally got him to understand it's genuinely okay to take time for yourself when you need it. They remind each other of that lesson when things get stressful.
Kinds of People Liked: This is a bit difficult to pinpoint for Aether because he is a quintessence ghoul. He can sense baseline emotions, he can sense deeper thoughts and feelings if he prods. He generally likes most people unless he senses something strange in a bad way.
Kinds of People Disliked: the type of people that’ll turn his Protector Mode on. So people who he senses violent/harmful/hateful thoughts/feelings from, people who take things for granted. He has lost a lot and has seen his pack lose a lot so it just rubs him wrong when he sees people who can’t appreciate what they’ve got.
Life in the Pits: Aether’s life in the Pits is…something he regrets deeply since he’s been Topside. He used to be in a rather large pack with an even larger territory. Over half of them slowly got wiped out by an illness that had worked its way into the caves where they resided, something immune to quintessence healing. Aether blamed himself for it. He was the leader of one of the small hunting parties, the only members of the pack who consistently went in and out of the caves. If an illness was brought back it had to have been from a hunting party. Aether took it upon himself to make sure nothing like that ever happened again. He used illusions to hide the cave and essentially kept the remainders under a slight quintosis. Just enough so he could monitor their health, could keep them from leaving. He didn’t want to lose anyone else.
Sense of Humor: shitty dad jokes. He thinks they’re hilarious and he will make them any opportunity he gets.
Basic Nature: He is a protector. Honestly kind of like a dad/mom friend. Snacks? He’s got it. Hurt? He’ll use his quintessence before you can even register the pain. Something he doesn’t have the answer for? Well, let’s go find who can help.
Compulsions/Habits: He always is the last one to turn in for the night. He wants to make sure everyone either gets back to the den safe or that everything is secure before the pack rests. He has a bad habit of believing his quint can fix everything. He’ll get obsessive if he can’t heal something right away, overusing it on his patient. It’s gotten better since Dew told him off after his transition, but it’s still present.
Fears: He fucking hates animatronics. The uncanny valley is too much (which is funny considering he’s literally a demon, but Swiss nearly got his brain melted when he pointed that out).
Attitude Towards own Body: no real strong opinion. He doesn’t hate himself, but he’s also not flaunting. He’s just content.
Sees Self As: the first line of defense for his pack, but also someone soft and approachable.
Hobbies: He loves to read, something about fiction and stories makes him feel almost human. He also likes to knit but with his work in the infirmary he hardly ever has time to anymore.
Pastimes: When he’s not super busy he likes to go down to the nursery and read to the children and kits. He also loves to study the stars. He creates his own constellation maps.
Collections: he keeps every little drawing/craft/gift he gets from either his pack or the children/kits. Like I mean everything. The box looks like a trash can filled with paper and glitter but he keeps it and adds to it. He still has all of the things that were thrown to him when he was touring.
Reading Materials Preferred: He’s a sucker for romance novels.
Most Prized Possession: A Polaroid of his original pack (Zephyr, Ifrit, Mountain, and Dew) prior to Dew’s elemental transition. It’s the only physical evidence of what Dew looked like before.
Favorite Colors: Warmer colors
Favorite Foods: He likes something that’ll warm him up, something filling. His absolute favorite food is creamy mushroom soup. Of course, there’s also his Thing with bananas.
General Likes: going to museums, colder weather, astronomy, moths
General Dislikes: crowded areas (makes the quintessence buzz), artificial raspberry flavor, cotton bedsheets, snails
Is Seen By Others As: someone to rely on. Someone you can go to with anything no matter how frivolous.
Typical First Impression: A giant bear in the best way possible. Big strong ghoul. Maybe a little intimidating at first.
Morning Routine: Go find Mountain and make sure he’s not running himself ragged already. Check with Omega in case he needs help in the infirmary. Go back to the den real quick for some breakfast with whoever is awake by then. Go do his daily chores.
Evening Routine: He usually comes back from the infirmary in the middle of dinner so he quickly washes up before joining. After dinner he gets some much needed cuddle time on the couch as everyone slowly goes to bed one by one. Once everyone is all accounted for, depending on the night’s activities, he’ll clean up the common area before lighting some incense to help him sleep.
Strongest Character Trait: His tenderness. He has a strong element and an even stronger body. He can hurt very easily, but he doesn’t. He has soft hands, a soft heart. He’s loving, tender, romantic in just about everything he does.
Weakest Character Trait: He’s a hypocrite. Constantly fussing over others and telling Mountain he works too hard while he’d turn around and ignore basic self-care if someone needed him. He’s also caring to a fault; it will sometimes lead to him forgiving and forgetting behaviors he shouldn’t. Though, in his defense when he can sense emotions and thoughts it gets hard to rationalize sometimes.
Mental/Emotional Blocks : sometimes treats Dew (and the rest of the pack but not to the same degree) like they’re helpless. He gets overprotective because of the transition and on bad days it’ll result in him being a bit controlling or overbearing. He’s gotten much better at self correcting this behavior, but sometimes it can still rear its ugly head.
Chores/other job: He is basically Omega’s assistant. He primarily helps in the infirmary, but on occasion he helps Omega with his other duties. This includes preparing and leading rituals, help newly summoned ghouls acclimate, and taking care of the Ministry’s protective wards.
Long Term Goals: He’d like to have a kit of his own some day. Dew is trying to argue for naming rights, but Aether can be stubborn if he wants to. Dew says if their kit is quint he gets to name them.
Present Problems: He feels guilt for retiring from the band. He knew it was what he needed, but watching his pack leave without him was hard. He felt like he was abandoning them. Even now that they’re back, he knows another tour will be coming and he’ll have to do it all over again.
One Line Characterization: Aether is a strong yet soft ghoul who puts others before himself.
Room Description: His room is very tidy and organized. He has a queen-sized canopy bed. It always smells of incense. He has his guitars mounted on his wall. The overhead light is never on, he always uses two small lamps to light the space. He has various nightlights plugged in, not for himself, but in case a ghoul comes to him for comfort in the middle of the night. He has a potted scilla sitting on his window. His mirror is packed with various pictures of the other ghouls, Terzo, and Copia.
Summoning: Despite his summoning being done in a hurry after Delta’s transition fell through, it went off without a hitch. He was more confused than anything, but after that wore off he became horribly curious about everything around him. However, when the novelty wore off, he fell into a depression. He was absolutely exhausted from continuously using his magick for years upon years and from the summoning. That and he couldn’t help but think about his pack, how they’ve lost yet another member.
NSFW
Favorite position: He absolutely loves watching his partner ride him. Honestly, just any position where he can see their face.
Dom/sub: He is always always going to be the dom, albeit a soft dom. The only people he has ever subbed for and will ever sub for is Mountain and Cirrus. He’s always soft though, the only way to get him to be meaner is to essentially plan it days in advance like an event…or wait for his rut.
Risk: He’s not super into risky stuff but he’s willing to play along if it’s what his partner wants. Though this goes right out the window when he’s in the mood for some quintosis or a medfet scene.
Kinks: Big breeding kink, he is always going to cum inside. Daddy kink, the need to be a protector definitely bleeds into bed. Bit of a voyeur but he’ll never admit it. Using his quintessence, he loves to tap into the mind of his partner and let them feel everything he is thinking and feeling and vice versa (also uses it to edge and deny on those occasions he’s mean).
Aftercare: He takes his partner straight to the shower. Always. He’ll bathe them if he has to. After that, he’ll pull out his stash of food and drinks and then it’s cuddles for the rest of the night. If it’s like the middle of the day it will take a miracle for him to get out of bed and away from whoever he was with. Also uses his quintessence to soothe sore muscles and coax to sleep.
Noise level: He’s surprisingly talkative during. Mainly check-ins and praise though. Other than that, at first, he’ll try to stifle his grunts and growls to focus on the other but after a while, he just goes full send.
Surprise: He has a thing with his horns that was even a surprise to himself when he first discovered it. Also big fat medfet. Like to the point where he’ll always try to keep a spare room open in the infirmary for him to sneak someone into.

hiii your uncle sukuna fic was SO GOOD, the backstory and characterizations were so in detail and made it extra delicious hehe. I was on my toes throughout the whole backstory (and the smut ofc…). sorry to ask cuz idk if you’ve answered this before but will there be a pt2? all love:)
hi hi!!!!
thank you so much for reading and for your kind words!!! im glad u enjoyed it.
for once in my life i do plan on eventually writing a part two of uncle sukuna. i would (ideally) want to make it into a multi part series tbh bc i love that universe. i have at least two fic ideas in mind (i.e. virginity loss and the weird sukugo threesome <3) and then some other uncomfortable incest romance pieces LOL. idk when ill get to it tho but there will probably someday be a pt2 and several more

You have any fic recommendations? Any fandom really lol. You have good takes and interpretation so I feel like you’d have some fire recs
AWH WELL THANK YOU !! I dont actually know how great the ones I read are gonna be since usually the fandoms Im in are scarce on content 💀 but ill go ahead and list a bunch of the ones I really like. I definitely spend way too much of my time reading one shots. REALLY wanna get back into longer fics, but its hard to find ones I care enough to sit down and dedicate time to these days 💔
Smiling Friends
bittersuite, charlie/pim: AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED !!!!! THIS FIC CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER !!!!! It is hurt/no comfort, but its soooo good it hurts so good and also there is supposed to be more eventually so i'd get on this one first bc when the second one drops its gonna be a day in history
Dimples, charlie/pim: I just read this last night and was so pleasantly surprised ☹️ Its so damn cute and I love how it delves more into both of their characters.
Portal 2
interface, chell/wheatley: HANDS down, best portal 2 one shot out there. the way the characterize chell is fucking insane, altered my brain chemistry forever. also wheatley is so hehehheheheh
You Do It, adventure/fact: I have a very love/hate relationship with this author..... Im not the BIGGEST fan of how they characterize them, esp Fact, but its definitely the most decent factventure content out there. I so like this one quite a bit, though their ideas are definitely better in theory than completely in practice. That's how I feel abt a lot of their works, but this person unironically holds the title for like 90% of the factventure content. If you just want some quick cute smut of them, i'd say you should check out their acc, cus I get the factventure fandom is starving LMAOO
I've got the fuse if you've got the light, adventure core/reader: ....erm, very self indulgent for me hehe!!! i was so fucking excited when this dropped
Half-Life/HLVRAI
Autonomous Sweet Mesa Response, benrey/gordon: THIS FIC IS SOOO FUCKING FIREEEEE !!! OH MY GOD, I can't even count the times I've read this one. their dialogue is as good as it comes next to canon. If you like this one, this is the first in a huge series and litearlly all of them are just as good as the first. such a good sit down and binge author. They also have a shit ton of other good hlvrai stuff on their page and they make fire art
If You Asked Me To, benrey/gordon: the way they wrote the sex scene in this changed my brain forever, it was so fucking awesome.... frenrey dynamic makes me WILD
Whispers and Moans, barney/gordon: this whole author has a lot of super cute freehoun :'[ this one deals with them before the resonance cascade AND after and shows how things changed between them and its so precious grrraah
Promise, barney/gordon: again, deals with the timeskip stuff which just always makes my heart hurt... also shower sex smiles
It’s Only Natural, barney/gordon: I DIDNT REALIZE THIS FIC JUST GOT FINISHED THIS YEAR OH MY GODDDD I WAS OBSESSED WITH THIS need to reread this immediately
Team Fortress 2
He's a Rebel, sniper/spy: SUPER fucking cheesy and corny but oh my god its like one of my fav fics ever..... it's just so much fun, like stereotypical fanfic and that's always a good time to me. biker gang member/school teacher au are you fucking kidding me i'll vomit
It IS the Size That Matters, sniper/spy: erm.... BLOWJOBS!! always find myself coming back to this one sorry i really like it hehe
Secure, demo/solider: Not a lot of fics of these guys, which really sucks!! super underrated ship. I liked this one a lot tho, its pretty cute and a little emotional
Something to Rely On, sniper/spy: casual sex but really sniper is in love will forever be my favourite thing ever, it never gets old istg
The Silent Game, sniper/spy: can you tell I really like sniperspy, MORE BLOWJOBS!!!
Disco Elysium
The Collision in Cardiozone HQ, harry/kim: holy. fucking. shit. actually life changing i am not joking. so fucking heartbreaking, it left me hollowed out for like a WEEK after the ending. A longer one for sure, but SO worth it like oh my god
The Catacomb Killer, harry/kim: I don't think I ever fully finished this one, but I remember REALLY liking the whole case the fic was set around. there was so much thought put into it, it was genuinely interesting like a murder mystery show
Retour à nouveau, harry/kim: I did really like the whole plot and buildup in this one, but from what I remember, them getting together was super anticlimatic :P i recall being disappointed, but the whole actual case and their interactions during the fic are super cute
Mortal Kombat 1
the game of idiocy, johnny/kenshi: BY THE SAME AUTHOR AS BITTERSUITE!! this one is sooo fucking cute, the way they write them interacting is so much fun. a little troupey and on the cheesier side, but cmon who doesn't love that
Undertale
Flowey is Not a Good Life Coach: no ships but delves a lot into flowey and papyrus relationship and there's so much good sans development too. SUPER GENERIC, it IS one of the most liked fics, but I remember reading it back when I was a teenager and it blew my fucking mind. ghhghggh i love the way they write the brothers interacting so much
The Party Incident and Other Embarrassing Anecdotes, sans/reader: uhmm.... soo sorry, this fic will forever hold a special little place in my heart. I'm sure if I read it now it would be SO corny cus oh my god it was fucking 2016 like are you kidding, but I'm just a fucking sucker for fake dating. there like 5000000 troupes in this one and theyre all so cute and its just a fun and silly time. it subconsciously inspires so much of my writing in fics. will probably forever be unfinished before they get together though HAHAH so definitely do not read if you're looking for a solid ending. its just about the journey i swear

i kid you not when i say i looked up these two at 4 am hoping for some crumbs but jere you are writing a whole fanfic ( thank you so much🤩).
I personally haven't read the httyd books only the series and movies. If you don't mind could u give a mini summary as u plan to write after book 8? If not i hope you have a wonderful day/ night!
(If uave tons of other questions but don't want to spam so ill just leave this here)
AUDHJSHDHD thank you so much for sending an ask i literally have none ever HAHA
im glad you enjoy the concept :)
the books are very different fron the movies in a large number of ways! in the books, vikings stat out with dragons, and hiccup's main problem is training his own, which he can't do by the normal strategy of yelling- a) because he's not the best yeller and b) because his little green hunting dragon, toothless, is as disobedient as it gets (and smaller than everyone else's to boot!)
in the books, vikings typically have hunting dragon(s) which are smaller and usually dog-sized, as well as a riding dragon, which is larger and obviously ridable. hiccup's riding dragon is a scraggly feathery dragon called the Windwalker who was rescued from slavery :)
one of the biggest differences as well, is that dragons can speak. most are just as intelligent as humans, some even more so, and they're generally cruel by nature. their culture encourages them to act selfishly and it's worked out pretty well for them, hence why most vikings train theirs by fear or exerting power. hiccup, who is nerdy enough to have sat out where the wild dragons are and literally learned their language has been attempting to train HIS by speaking to them, which has some mixed results. windwalker is actually quite mellow and loyal, since hiccup's probably the first person to show him kindness. toothless is just a little brat with a stammer, but he does have softness in his heart deep deep down.
characterization-wise, everyone's a lot different as well.
hiccup, as stated before is a nerd who'll rattle off dragon facts in dangerous situations while fishlegs is more of the sarcastic romantic, basically think of it like the movies swapped their personalities. he also has bright red Heroic Hair that stands straight up and they robbed that from him in the movies and i will never forgive them. hes also an excellent swordfighter and its just about the only traditionally viking thing he's good at :). also, his mother is never kidnapped by dragons- but she IS gone often, out questing. her name is valhallarama and she is an absolute beast of a woman they definitley nerfed her when they turned her to valka
fishlegs is a skinny little loser (affectionate) who's allergic to dragons, has a plethora of other medical conditions too, and is acrually an orphan and was raised by a long-eared caretaker dragon. he's also hiccup's best and only friend at the start of the series. he's arguably worse at being a viking as hiccup is and they both bond over how they wish society would allow them to not be brainless fighters. his dragon is a lazy common-or-garden-or-basic-brown named horrorcow, she's both a pacifist and a vegetarian. when he was catching his dragon, he actually wanted to grab a nadder, which is long and serpentine because nadder is a pun on adder and i have no idea why the movies didn't see that
snotlout is hiccup's cousin and hates him more than anything in the world, and not in a ha-ha funny way either. he legitamately wishes hiccup were dead or never born because he hates to see this "runt" next in line for chief instead of him. he is constantly literally trying to make hiccup's life miserable or literally murder him and once again this is not played for laughs. his dragon's a mean monstrous nightmare- a hunting dragon only the chief and descendanrs of should have- named fireworm, and she is very full of herself. hookfang is actually one of stoick's monstrous nightmares!
another main character is camicazi, who appears in book 3 onward and she was so powerful they had to split her into three characters in the movies (she's sorta like if you took the thorston twins and astrid and mashed them all together, then added another sprinkle of chaos). she's a short little kid from another tribe of all-female warriors called the bog-burgalars and an excellent escape artist. she has a mood dragon- a serpentine, color-changing dragon named stormfly who can actually speak the human language too. she's not very helpful though since shes a pathological liar.
the main villain is named alvin the treacherous and he's a ridicuoulsly resiliant guy who reaaaally wants hiccup dead for a multitide of reasons we don't need to get into now since hw won't really appear in my work haha
i think ive gotten a lot of basics down, but obviously there's a ton more! in regards to knowledge for my crossover though thats essentially some of the main points you need to know. by the 8th book, hiccup has been on a multitide of adventures (and has nearly died or gotten eaten on all of them) but the world hasn't changed irreparably yet :). i plan on writing it in a way that can accomodate people with no knowledge of httyd, since most of it will be from the touden party's pov exploring the world! you'll be getting plenty of detailed descriptions of some of the dragon species as laios's nerdiness will help show
i would absolutely reccomend checking out the books, though! you can usually find them at your local library, and there's also the entire series of audiobooks on youtube! there's a very dedicated group of people on here who love the httyd books including me who would love to help you get into them as well, if that's what you'd like!
i'll round this off with a few of my renditions of some of the characters i've drawn :)

Stop blaming characters for bad writers
Seriously, stop fucking doing this. While this is a post that could certainly be applicable to MANY fandoms, I'm mainly directing this whole rant at my target audience which is mentally ill minecraft obsessed freaks.
If a character is written badly, gets badly fumbled by the creator, or has the ball dropped in regards to their arc in some way, a lot of people will blame the character, as if they're a real conscious person making these decisions. When they aren't. They're a block man literally being controlled by two people who just aren't very good writers and one or both of them are incredibly sexist, kind of racist, ableist, and just bad writers in general.
Yeah, Laurance does some pretty shitty things through out Season 2 of MCD, actively crossing lines he wouldn't have previously crossed. We as fans can cope by saying something something calling, or just saying Laurance is a bad abusive person, but the reality is that the writers wanted to force the series to fit a specific vision and as a result were willing to do anything to get the series to that point. In order to make Aaron the most favorable suitor for Aphmau, her previous suitors need to be out of the picture, or clearly inferior options.
Garroth suffered the out of the picture, being mostly absent outside of a few cutscenes here and there until episode 81 of season 2, but episode 81 is the culmination of the writers goals to make Aarmau happen. By the time Garroth has returned to the series, the damage has already been done. He's not getting the life he wants. And Laurance is written out of the picture as well, but only after being shown to be inferior because Jesson were pushing an agenda.
Laurance didn't deteriorate as a person due to neglect of his physical and mental well being after a severely traumatic experience. He deteriorated as a character because the writers stopped giving as much of a shit about him and instead were using the series as self indulgent fanfiction of alternate versions of themselves. That's not Laurance's fault.
And this applies to any character who was completely fumbled in MyStreet due to this similar focus on wish fulfillment from the writers. Jess has stated that the relationship between Aphmau and Aaron in Phoenix Drop High is reflective of her relationship with Jason, we all know this. This means that any characters who come off as total fucking creeps in that series (namely Gene), are not actually acting on the whims of their own autonomy or desires as characters. They are acting in service of telling a predetermined story that they are retroactively being added into for author fulfillment.
In this regard I fully support fandom cope and say that you should rewrite your little guys to your hearts content. But if you're going to criticize these characters for their actions, don't criticize them. They didn't do anything wrong. All characters are just puppets in service of the story or themes a writer is trying to push. If a character acts in an objectively terrible way, especially a way that isn't in line with their previous characterizations, that is a failing of the writers, not the character.
And I feel like largely a lot of us can and frequently do this. We're actively criticizing Jesson for being terrible low-key bigoted writers all the god damn time, it's like half of the content here. But when we get into character discourse I feel like some people cling onto bad actions of the canon too closely and I've seen more than a few posts presume some pretty terrible interpretations of characters based on these actions. Obviously Laurance is a character I and a lot of others are fixated on so a lot of discourse revolves around him, and it was seeing some... interesting takes on him that prompted me to start writing this post.
But this happens to everyone. Quite personally based on the character I was shown in MyStreet, it feels really weird that Garroth would make an insensitive comment about his brother's weight. Yeah siblings poke fun at each other and often cross lines, but if that was something Zane was seriously insecure about (which it seems like he might be) then it does make Garroth come off as a really insensitive brother, which just doesn't gel with how hard he tries to bond with Zane despite their tense relationship. And I don't think Garroth should be criticized for making those comments.
Whoever wrote those lines (Jess and/or Jason) should be criticized for writing a scene where a character is mocked by their older sibling over a physical insecurity even if said sibling would not normally do that. It's not Travis' fault that Jesson never decided to give him more of a character beyond "funny pervy guy" that's not funny in every anime they've watched until Season 5 of MyStreet. It's unfair to try and say Travis should be scrutinized for his borderline sexual harassment of some characters when it's not his fault that happened, he was written by writers who don't think this sort of behavior isn't all that bad if they make it out for comedy and punch him in the face.
And god dammit it's not Laurance's fault that his jealousy became the most prevalent emotion he felt. Laurance has always been a character to give into his vices and yet fight against them at the same time, it's what makes him compelling. If they were going to pull on those vices in order to make him a less appealing love interest, he never had a chance to really be his own character after a certain point. Because at a certain point in Season 2, Jesson stopped caring about the character they had been writing for over a hundred episodes at that point. They just wanted to canonize their self insert ship and were willing to do anything to get it.
Laurance isn't an abusive angry person who would have killed Aphmau if they got together. He's a flawed character being handled by incredibly flawed writers who are prone to making some of the worst decisions you have ever seen a creator make in regards to their character writing. He was caught in the crossfire of the adoration he received from a very dedicated fanbase, and the creator who would rather pretend he and his previous arc didn't exist for the sake of her fun. It's not Laurance's fault his arc was stilted, jerked around, and ultimately ended with him completely face planting. And yet still reliably dragging his bloodied body up at just the slightest glimmer of hope (Void Paradox).
It's deeply poetic and tragic that I can describe his character in universe and in the meta-textual sense that way, but we should never blame Laurance, or Aaron, or any other characters for things being like this.
They didn't write the show. Jess and Jason did.

I'm having some finale wine and I think I've got it. My final resolute head canon of Riverdale.
Keep in mind I have not watched the end of season 5 through the end and have absolutely no intention to, but I've seen and heard enough about *gestures vaguely* all of that to still stand by this.
Disclaimer: I do not believe this is what the writers intended whatsoever. This is all my imagination. I do however believe in this canon whole heartedly and its as true to me as whatever RAS's vision is to him. You choose who to trust.
Okay so first and foremost the entire series is written by Jughead. It's all his writings that are probably all sitting in a google docs draft folder.
I justify this due to the following:
He is the narrator
The entire series is obsessed with Betty Cooper for good or ill (I'll get to it)
Its all kind of sort of been alluded to that its all Jughead's writings anyway. At least in S1, again. I'll get to the why of that in a second.
He started writing season 1 in his junior year (so a year after the events of the S1). He read In Cold Blood (on his own, not for class, very important to him that you all know this) and was like "Hey my town had a murder and I have some trauma around it, so I should totes do this." And thus S1 is born.
This is why that season is (relatively) more grounded and far more realistic than the rest of the series because its based on a real true thing that happened and the real feelings and emotions of people involved. It has the least amount of exaggeration (but enough, because Jughead) and has the most coherent plot, which would make sense since Jughead isn't making anything up, he is recalling events.
This is also the only season that directly ties Jughead's narration and the plot to the book Jughead is writing on page, and thus tying them both together. Because again, its a thing that really happened.
So the characterizations, motivations, and actions of everyone in season 1 is the model of how and how these characters actually are and are a base for further exaggeration.
Seasons 2-4 are also based on true events but are exaggerations/interpretations of things that really happened, but are altered to make them more interesting to Jughead's readers (heh).
I don't want this post to be a novel so here is a brief listing of that I am thinking here for some of the main plots (but if you have a plot you want me to fit into this canon let me know):
The Black Hood: When Jughead showed Betty his first manuscript (S1) the positive constructive criticism she gave was that, "True crime is really popular right now, so this fits in with the zeitgeist." And Jughead ran with it. Fred also had his first heart attack at this time...we all know where I'm going with that so I'll just leave that there. RIP.
Making Hal the Black Hood: Hal leaves the family after the Polly debacle and finding some racy pics on Betty's computer (she sent them to Jug, she wasn't a camgirl) and decides to start his life over with a woman who is far more moral (and probably like 2 years older than Polly)
The Serpents/Class War with Hiram: Not a gang, just those under the boot of the rich that Hiram tries to eradicate through good ol fashioned gentrification. Archie and Veronica also start spending more time doing rich people shit and that drives a divide between the two main couples of the core four. But less about political plots and more about teenagers growing apart because of different interests
Season 3: Putting this all together because Jughead was having a hard time finding a plot here. So he focused on Alice's new weird young boyfriend who actually ended up taking off with Polly (leaving her twins), his newfound obsession with DnD (Betty was exhaustedly supportive of this) and Kevin's endless talk about the new megachurch he just joined. He and Betty also started watching a lot of horror films and Hitchcock at the time which leads us to...
Season 4: He and Betty go off to different schools but its because of college, not because Jug is the chosen one (again see why he is writing all of this himself). He meets a lot of pretentious people that challenge his relationship with Betty and he turns it into a mystery.
So now we have made it to 4.17. Ugh.
Okay so Jughead has written all of this, and reading everything back feels that Archie and Betty (who go to the same college now and are friends again after growing apart after he dated Veronica) have grown too close and Jug self destructs.
He self sabotages so hard and makes a story up in his head that Betty would be much happier with Archie who is doing perfectly mediocre at college while Jughead flunked out.
So he and Betty break up after a lot of frustrated fighting.
And he begins to write Betty differently. Wildly differently.
(You can't tell me this doesn't make more sense than whatever the hell happened in the show.)
Jughead dejected from his failure at school and his breakup Writes on and off for the next few years. His next main attempt is S5. His attempt at more realistic writing.
(Its also after Betty enters his life again, because at her core Betty is his muse)
He works through his fictional frustrations of Betty and Archie as a possible couple (They never dated. Archie is actually a aromantic pansexual who does not do commitment) and realized that he made it all up and they have nothing in common.
Jughead and Betty get back together at the end of "Season 5" but Betty tells him that writing about their real life is what tore them apart, so he needs to not use their relationship in his writing anymore.
So Jughead decided to get weird and wildly experimental with his writing. And because Jughead is not a particularly good writer S6 and S7 are born.
Betty, absolutely running out of positive things to say about his last few writing attempts tells him that maybe these exaggerated versions of their lives that bear no resemblance to the real world have run their course, and he should try something new.
So Jughead wraps up this now unrecognizable series of writings and moves onto something new.
With Betty diligently serving as his editor. She got distracted with her new job and left him unattended for those last few seasons and look what happened.
Also I realize that Archie/Veronica/Cheryl/Toni are absent in this so briefly
Archie: He always was in awe of Archie and slightly jealous of what he perceived he had over Jughead...this is why he is the quasi-hero and also why he tortures Arch and treats him like an idiot.
Veronica: I cannot stress this enough. He and Veronica have no relationship. She is his friend's girlfriend and his girlfriend's best friend. The only thing he really knows about her is she is rich and hot. So he makes that her core personality and slaps on whatever traits fit her best for whatever plot he is writing at the time.
(This is also why almost all the women Veronica, Tabitha, Jessica, and Toni all are at some time his love interest. Self instert fan fic Jug. We see you.)
Cheryl/Toni: He and Toni are friends and Cheryl is her girlfriend who endlessly terrifies him. That is the core of her characterization.
I already regret the fact that I am sharing this long-winded mess with the world...but I can't take it back now.
Enjoy. And if you don't that is fine. It's my head canon not yours. Go make your own.
Have fun on finale night folks.

I'll probably have more to say about this later bc I'm going to sleep soon, but I feel like, you, oliveroctavius, me, and a few other people are like the small minority I've seen anywhere who actually criticize TASM for the eugenics and ableism, and it honestly floors me that no one talks about it when it's so blatant and tumblr loves bringing up disability and ableism otherwise? Like, it's not even a case of how everyone has valid differing opinions and needs/wants when it comes to how the vast range of disabled experiences should be approached in fiction and there's nuance in how to do even tricky, but real experiences like grief and loss - we're talking about a film series where an antagonist meant to be sympathetic makes a speech about disability being a weakness of humanity that must be genetically eradicated to strengthen it (which is never deconstructed or challenged) and has no other characterization beyond sad amputee whose only interest for a decade is his missing arm, and where Peter is some kind of genetic chosen one whose Good Genes give him cool powers, and the whole mess with Harry.
The few other times on tumblr I've seen it brought up is to like, woobify (internalized) ableism even though the films go way beyond realistic personal struggle and straight into eugenics, and as someone with a Lizard niche in the Spidey fandom, I'm floored at how everywhere else, I keep seeing the TASM version of the character topping best adaptation discussions by a huge margin compared to way better takes with zero references of the ableism (this was not the case even a few years ago, idk what happened), and you can correct me on this if I'm wrong bc you would know more about the Harry side of things than me, but I feel like TASM!Harry used to be very popular and be moved, at least until MSM2017 and Insomniac came along.
Hi sorry my brother just graduated college. Anyways, in regards to the Harry side of things, I think a lot of the ableism SHOULD be pretty obvious, but apparently it’s not considering how little critical thought there is with all these villains. There’s the good genes bad genes eugenics of Harry wanting Peter’s blood to cure himself and then it doesn’t work because the spider only worked with Peter’s “good genes” (I don’t care about their in canon excuse, it still buys into this trope) and it reacted so badly with the TERMINALLY ILL CHARACTERS “bad genes” that he turned crazy and evil. And that’s ignoring my general distaste for disability or “insanity” being used primarily as a source of fear for the good, noble, and of course able bodied protagonists.
Something that’s also pretty weird that nobody mentions is the fact that like, Electro in these movies just HAD to talk to nothing. Normally it wouldn’t bother me as much or I might be willing to give it a pass, but it’s these movies, which just love to make their disdain for disabled people clear, so it comes off as super bad taste.
Like… I’m only scratching the surface. Why are there three people who consistently point out how ableist these movies are? Especially when as you said, tasm Harry is pretty popular! Ignoring my beef with him as a Harry Osborn, it’s so odd to me because so much of that is either like, sort of romanticizing his chronic illness and breakdown or getting off on that ableist insanity I mentioned earlier.
And when you bring it up, people get SUPER defensive. I don’t know if like, the amount of invalid criticism just makes people defensive or if it makes people think there’s NO valid criticism but like… these movies aren’t bad for the reasons you think. The issues they have are like… the writing saying that eugenics is cool and fun alongside generally iffy writing.

Can you really explain in detail what black water Annie’s dad has against Armin is he just “nobody can love my daughter more than me” and controlling cause hes a narcissist or is there another reason? Cause we know the hate is obviously mutual between armin and annies dad but Armin is a good guy for annie, he’s literally a commander why wouldn’t he be happy knowing he treated her horribly?? Sorry for it being so long but i had been thinking about this for a while
Well sorry this took FOREVER for me to answer, anon, but here I am! (promise im not dead)
I think one of the hardest characters to write in BW was Mr. Leonhart. because it's so easy to make him a two-dimensional villain with very little nuance. So it does help to try and see things from his perspective a little bit, even if we're ignoring the selfish/self-centered accusations made by me numerous time. 10 years ago, him and Annie made a promise that it's them against the world, that neither him nor Annie need anyone else to rely on as long as they have each other. This is when he said that she can make the whole world her enemy but he'd still be on her side and that's all that matters
By the end of the series, you can see Mr Leonhart kept good on his "promise" he seems to still be only focused on her returning, keeping to himself because that's what he told Annie to do. But now she's back, and she hadn't kept her "promise" of it just being the two of them, she now has friends she can rely on, people she trusts and loves and who love her back
I think there is a sense of betrayal on his end, but I don't see him turning against Annie after 10 whole years of waiting for her and believing she's alive. Instead, it's much more realistic of him going the route of "it's other people" who are taking her away from me so that starts causing some resentment even towards Annie herself
I've also pointed out before that I don't believe he actually knows Annie as a person. He never got to know her before he "changed his ways" so it's really hard for him to comprehend why other people may like her, especially since his own "paternal feelings" are primarily guided by guilt, rather than something more inherently positive. So, of course, anyone who's trying to get close to Annie, must have some nefarious reasoning and ill-intent towards her, so he must protect her now, unlike when he "failed" from protecting her from Marley
Armin is the target of his hatred because he is successfully taking Annie away from him, because hero of the final battle, commander in the army, and an ambassador important worldwide, surely he doesn't have an interest in a "damaged" girl beyond the fact that she's easier to take advantage of
Also, while not a part of BW, I can totally imagine his passive aggressiveness towards anyone (but especially Armin) trying to take Annie away from him if he found out that it was Armin and her friends who put her there in the first place would turn into hostility
This is all my trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the characterization I apply the most to Mr Loenhart is the one I have pinned on my blog of him focusing on his own redemption and making up for his mistakes, with being Annie's father till his last day as the only way he could do it and anyone taking Annie from him is dooming him into irredeemably. Though that's more subconscious

Ok so on the topic of headcanons, I know I haven’t mentioned it yet but Terukane has been a gruesome infection in my brain for over 3 years now, and it’s about time I let the brain worms breathe
Terukane infested their way into my brain mostly because they both just so happen to be my favorite type of character design and character archetype (middle part and glasses / absolute wet cat of a man) so them also having a dynamic that makes me both very ill and also jump for joy is (to me) a combo made in heaven.
But I’m picky, especially picky with characterization in fan fiction. And I’m glad that most fics of them are written by people who understand how they behave in-series. Though my biggest fault may be that I love to write but hate the act of writing, so every idea I have is forever locked away in my noggin, I can attempt to get out something here.
Quick note I’m not a weirdo so don’t think I mean anything in any weird way at all, if you do I’ll eat your family. Okay? Okay.
Tumblr media
Smitten Teru is probably my favorite out of any characterization of the two, just because I love how it can either be mindrottingly sweet or just ,sad, personally I love going the “kicking feet and giggling” route but both are great in their own regard.
It also might just be that I can’t really see Akane behaving the way he does for Aoi to Teru, a lot of people just kind of move Akane’s unhealthy attachment issues to him without understanding why Akane behaves like that around Aoi in the first place. (I have a whole thing about that) So it’s refreshing to have him, like, not do that.
To add onto that: aloof/repress feelings as hard as possible Akane totally rocks, and I love seeing it. Especially with the “why in the FUCK would I have LIKE someone like that??” kinda shit, rocks me, love it, can’t get enough. God it’s like the only time where cheesy relationship junk doesn’t give me second hand embarrassment, cause like they’re both so unbelievably stupid at relationships, and watching them be awkward and terrible at it really alleviates the whole existential life-or-death stuff happening in the actual manga. Losers in love kills me, and they are just that. GOD I WANT TO THROW THEM OFF A RAVINE
Also, I know a lot of fan fiction does this, but it’s never to the degree that I wish it was. Flustered/embarrassed teru kills me. It always kills me in anything when he just acts like a normal person, just like, expressing normal people emotions but because he’s so repressed it just like kills him. GOD I went through like a six month period of not crying and the moment I did again it felt like I got hit by a bus, could not IMAGINE barely ever crying my whole damn life. A good hard cry, that’s what he needs.
Anyway, I think that’s enough, if I let the brain worms out anymore they’ll form a union and force me to pay them more. Ninja out

My PJO episode ratings
Before I wanted to start I just wanted to say that I reserved all judgement about the show until it was over because I decided to trust the writers and let me tell you i LOVED pretty much every change because thats what adaptations are about
changing whats not good anymore or improving where it can be
and mainly KEEPING THE SPIRIT OF THE BOOKS WHICH WAS DONE MASTERFULLY
SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY
Now on to the rankings
EP1: 7/10
This was a solid start to the series which pretty much perfected most of the characterizations. I had a few issues originally but these were pretty quicky turned around.
Mrs Dodds fight at the MET was too short but was made up for by her increased appearances across the season which was really nice imo
random cuts to black to avoid showing the car crash - (i had this problem two other times in the show which was during ep2 and ep5 but i dont mind it anymore but ill discuss that later)
grover felt kinda sleazy for me at the start but i did make my peace with this change overall because of something later on.
EP2: 8/10
Ep2 had the same feel as Ep1 being so very Percy Jackson esque with the humour and the characterizations
LUKE WAS JUST SO LIKEABLE AND IT BROKE MY HEART THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO SEE HIM BETRAY PERCY LATER
ANNABETH JUST SAYING YES SHE STALKS PERCY WAS JUST ICONIC
The fight choreography was also just top notch and Dior's scream was just amazing and i cannot believe that it was unscripted
just goes to show how the casting is so perfect - does not matter at all that they don't look book accurate
again the cut to black was kinda annoying for me as we just skipped the council of cloven elders scene which had SUCH A GOOD SET and i was so dissapointed when we didn't see it but otherwise i had a really good time
DIONYSUS WAS JUST PERFECT TOO
I don't mind that they cut the bowing for the claiming but they could have done it so only the big three kids are bowed to which shows how revered they are
percy not wanting to go on the quest and only going when grover says his mom is in the underworld just exemplifies percy's momma boi tendencies and fixed grovers character for me which made it all the worthwhile
EP3: 9/10 - MEDUSA WAS SO GOOD
I LOVED ALL THE CHANGES IN MEDUSAS STORYLINE THEY WERE SO GOOD AND ACTUALLY FIT THE CHARACTER
This is one of the most accurate mixed of greek and roman mythology for medusa i have ever seen.
in the original greek medusa was more of a monstrous figure while the romans started to paint her as a victim of the gods spats and this i feel captures both parts to that really well and JPK just kills it.
Grover is really good in this episode just trying to hold it together and then giving percabeth a reality check at the end is so good.
EP4: 8/10
Step down from ep3 for me mainly because i wanted to see more of the chimera fight and because it was a little too expositiony at the beginning but overall really solid episode and the change in the fall from the arch is really well done
not much to say really
the kids are getting better and better throughout the show
'its like you want me to make fun of you'
this is percabeth just how i imagined them
walker and leah killed it and aryan is just amazing as well.
EP5: 10/10
WHAT IS LOVE
BABY DONT HURT ME
DONT HURT ME
NO MORE
EP6: 7/10
lets be honest the only reason people wanted to see the lotus scenes was because the movie popularized it and retrospectively because of nico and bianca
if was a tiny (but significant) part of the book and didn't really need to be the whole episode pretty much but I did like how they handled it as compared to the movie version which, while fun, did not really fit a percy jackson kind of vibe to me personally.
Lin Manuel Miranda was really good at playing Hermes and grovers scenes were some of my favourite (especially because thats where we get the di angelos easter egg but whatever)
overall a bit of a dip but still really fun for me to watch
plus i love dua lipa so the music change was a big win for me
EP7 9/10:
HADES WAS JUST AS I IMAGINED HIM. NO HOLLYWOOD HES NOT A BIG TERRIFYING SUPERVILLAIN HES ACTUALLY KINDA CHILL AND THE FLASHBACKS WERE JUST SO GOOD
THE UNDERWORLD CGI WAS GREAT
Procrustes could have been done a little better because it really feels like the suspense was taken away during that scene but the flashbacks were so good
THAT POSEIDON SCENE
THE SHOW WAS SETTING ME UP TO HATE HIM AND I JUST FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM IN LIKE 2 SECONDS
NO ONE SAID TOBY STEPHENS VOICE SOUNDED LIKE THAT
THE THUNDER FOLLOWED BY 'ONE DAY'
CHEFS KISS
ABSOLUTE KUDOS TO THE WRITERS YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING
EP8: 8471782487261078480/10:
JUST PERFECT. ARES FIGHT WAS REALLY WELL DONE
PERCY AND POSEIDON JUST BROKE MY HEART AND MENDED IT THREE TIMES WITH LIKE 4 FACIAL EXPRESSIONS
'do you ever dream about mom?'
AND I LOVED LANCE REDDICK AS ZEUS (RIP)
I AM SO UPSET WE DO NOT GET TO SEE MORE BECAUSE IT WAS SO AWESOME TO WATCH
LUKE WAS JUST AMAZING
THE KRONOS SCENE WAS SO GOOD
THE BETRAYAL JUST BROKE MY HEART
'i heard everything'
I DID NOT EXPECT ANNABETH TO SHOW UP THERE
THE DISNEYLAND REFERENCE
SEARCH THE SEAS GROVER AND GET US A SEASON 2 BECAUSE WE NEED IT ASAP
OVERALL THE SHOW IS LIKE A FULL 9/10 FOR ME

My theory on the orange side: HE'S NOT LOGAN'S OPPOSITE?
WOW PLOT TWIST I KNOW
so basically I was watching through sanders sides the other day (as you do) and I was making a couple of theories on the orange side, yk average TSS enjoyer activities, WHEN SUDDENLY I WAS STRUCK WITH SOMETHING GLORIOUS
THE SVS REDUX
This is the first hints we see about the orange side (see from the cover screen showing a 7th side and the famous 01134 on the street fighter game sequence) BUT HAVE WE EVER STOPPED TO CONSIDER WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS EPISODE?
At 40:06 of the SVS redux, there is a MUSIC CHANGE (to a track that in my personal opinion sound WAY too funky to be "just for instrumental") and furthermore, Roman says at 40:12, "how long must we act selfishly until Thomas is ready to start putting more... good into the world?". Janus then responds, "A good question, for another time."
Now one might take that as Janus avoiding the question, but I think its strange that it is ONLY IN THIS PART OF THE VIDEO THAT THIS MUSIC PLAYS, when they are talking about being TOO selfish, to the embodiment of LIES. So what does it mean? I believe it symbolises Thomas lying to himself about the existence of the orange side.
SO THE QUESTION YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR THE ANSWER TO - WHO THE FRICKLE FRACK IS THE ORANGE SIDE? In my opinion, I believe it is Narcisissm. Or at least, that's what Thomas VIEWS it to be.
LET ME EXPLAIN-
The first time orange appears in the series is in the episode about SELFISHNESS, and how it shouldn't be mistaken for self care. This is extremely similar to how society treats self-love as a narcisisstic, hence why Thomas would believe this is what the orange side represents.
Now let's look at my favourite thing: COLOURS. WHAT DO THEY MEAN? • Red - This colour mainly represents Passion and Courage (like Roman, the passion is for creativity and the courage is the whole "ill always be your hero" thing) • Yellow - Many people respond to this colour in different ways, some find it cheery, others find it grating (Much like many people have different views on lying and Deceit) • Green - it is sometimes associated with sickness, and too much of it can evoke isolation (much like how intrusive thoughts make people feel sick and that they are alone with these thoughts) • Blue - light shades of blue often represent confidence, peace, honesty and reliability (literally aligning with Patton's existence in a whole) • Indigo - This colour can be seen as knowledgeable, representing integrity and intuition (Do I even have to say anymore, it literally is knowledge, aka Logan) • Purple - Shades of this colour have been used in the care of mental of nervous disorders (Maybe this is why Virgil started wearing purple, to symbolise thomas's better management of his anxiety?)
And now, what about orange? One of the negative connotations of this colour is self-indulgence, which is characterized by doing or tending to do exactly what one wants (much like BEING SELFISH). This would explain the appearance of the orange side in the SVS redux.
"But what about the colour wheel? WHAT IS ORANGE THE OPPOSITE OF?" Before I continue, I'm leaving virgil out of this because thats a whole other can of worms I DONT WANT TO DIVE INTO TODAY, BUT LEMME EXPLAIN
Red and Green are opposites, much like Remus and Roman. They represent both sides of Thomas' creativity - dark and light - so it makes sense.
Heres where things get tricky. LEAVING VIRGIL OUT OF THIS (bcus he's more of a... neutral side I guess? I feel like he doesn't really have a clear opposite anyways) The colour closest to this is actually yellow. This kinda makes sense, as Logan is based on truths while Janus is based on lies.
SO THAT LEAVES PATTON, THE EMBODIMENT OF MORALITY AND SELFLESSNESS. AND THE ORANGE SIDE, WHO I'VE JUST THEORISED TO BE A FIGURE REPRESENTING NARCISISSM AND SELFISHNESS, much like the entire plot of the svs redux.
You might be thinking, "BUT WORKING THROUGH INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS !!! LOGAN WAS ORANGE !!! HOW DOES THAT WORK????" That's because Logan had a selfish goal behind Thomas's schedule, which was being listened to for once. Many people who have narcisisstic tendancies tend to crave attention, much like logan. This part where the "orange side took over" wasn't the orange side himself, it was a representation of Logan's need to be listened to.
Am I saying Thomas Sanders is a narcisisst? No, not in the slightest. Earlier I said that this is how Thomas percieves the orange side, because they're HIS SIDES. He views his self love and desire to be listened to as narcisissm because that's what he's been brought up to believe. It can even be reflected through Patton's behaviour in the SVS redux.
Again, this is JUST A THEORY. I'm not saying any of this is fact. Also special note for these guys:
Colour theory experts (I can't art so my colour wheel analogy is probably so off
People who have NPD/actually know more about it (I want to clarify that this is how I think Thomas PERCIEVES the orange side, not what it is. I'm not diagnosing)
Virgil lovers (HE DOESNT MAKE SENSE IM SO SORRY)
PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE SERIES BETTER THAN ME (Yes I know that the line seperating "opposite sides" is a little blurry)
Thank you and goodnight (you should totally repost this)

To put into perspective just how forced the whole JohnZee pairing has been for the last few years, Zatanna met John 5 times in the pre-reboot continuity. That's 5 out of the 379 times she has appeared in comics before the Pre Nu 52 debut of Justice League Dark. Similarly John's Hellblazer lasted for 300 issues with his own supporting cast and love interests and Zatanna only appeared once in it.
(Yes, there was a divide between Vertigo and DC at the time but Zatanna was one of the few characters who famously flaunted the line)
Swamp Thing #49-50: this is where we first find out that these characters knew each other as John tries to recruit Zatara and Zatanna for the magical seance. Note that there is an element of manipulation involved in all of John's interactions with everyone in this issue. John was also a new character at the time and Zatanna was a very established character. Moore can be a perv so it's not surprising that he made their relationship sexual. He also basically ended the pairing with John Zatara's death and Zatanna blaming John for it. Although they were established as collegues, we got fans and writers today who think Zatanna should be a novice who needs John to lead her around and tell her where to aim her powers.
Books of Magic: In which we learn that John hasn't met Zatanna at all since the traumatic seance but feels he can just waltz in and ask her to babysit a kid for him. The writer likes him so of course it works and she hugs and kisses him, which felt so very jarring. Books of Magic is a book I enjoy except for the Zatanna scenes (and Spectres). Then we had Zee acting like a complete idiot who endangers Tim Hunter and needed to be saved by John Constantine. Really jarring when you see her appearances in JLA comics around the time where she was a powerful magician whose kicking ass. ( Yet, this one comic would decades later set the pace for her characterization in JLD as this novice with a lot of power except for when John needs to shine. ) We would later get a follow up to this in a dream sequence in the 1991 Zatanna mini series by Lee Mars but that too had a scene where Zatanna went 'oh no, I'm not as good John' which makes no sense since she has been involved in magic her whole life.
Hellblazer Vol 1 #63: Zatanna's only appearance in the title at John's 40th birthday party. I don't have any objections to this one. Zee getting high at a party with a floating joint is hilarious.
Totems mini series: A brief appearance where she turns down his offer for sex and even goes 'reven niaga'.
Zatanna Everyday Magic: I like this one. As it deals with things from her perspective. She is the one who saves him and very subtly we see her shed any resentment she may have for John but is not hung up on him. She has her own life and her own love interests, even has casual sex with them.
So we have a pairing that cratered and halfway buried, only for an ill thought out reboot to drag it back up and heavily retconning both character's respective histories to make it work. Like introducing Nick Necro and treating the seance like Zee's origin story instead of Zatanna's Search. Ignoring any aspect of her that's not related to John, like all her relationships with the JL members (except Batman) don't matter anymore even though they played important roles in her life as well. Yet, John gets to keep most of his history and supporting cast and even get several shots at an ongoing. Zee ends up being treated as less smart, less competent and daresay even less sexy, whenever the JohnZee pairing comes to the forefront. The seeds were there since even their second meeting.
I don't see why this pairing needs to be treated as something so sacrosanct that the characters aren't allowed to grow past it. It's definitely not an earned relationship that's up there with Clark/Lois, BatCat, WallyLinda or BarryIris. It's only post nu52 that writers can't seem to go two pages without mentioning the pairing whenever Zee shows up. And I hate the fact that it's lead to Zee developing a reputation as a woman with a bad body fetish. Yet another aspect of the character they had to twist to make the pairing work.
It's not just that Zee deserves better, it just plain doesn't make sense. Even on it's own, it's a constant merry go round 'oh John, you are lying to me, I can't trust you/John, you lied to me, I trusted you. Everyone in JLD gets this but Zatanna gets it the worst.
Also, Zatanna didn't 'choose him', they were apart then the reboot happened and DC went 'well, lets pretend these two are an angsty couple who can't quit each other, forget anything that might contradict this narrative'.
To drive the point home; compare Zee's last appearance in 2022 in JLD as team leader where she was shown to be reckless and dumb leader who endangered her team for no reason and refused to take responsibility (of course John comes out looking good). To her later appearances in Batgirl and the excellent Knight Terrors crossover team up with Robot Man.
Once she is away from John, she goes back to being her fun, competent, bad ass, sexy self.
Side note: Can we also go back to a time when Zatanna, Phantom Strnager, Spectre and Dr Fate were bad asses and not chumps so John Constantine can look cool as he pulls out a vaguely defined spelled from his ass? I saw scans from a comic recently where he got the drop on freakin' Waverider recently.

Hear me out, this is before I start watching.
I'm not entirely upset at changing aang from a carefree child to a depressed savior of the world.
Imagine ur 12, ur goofing off having a good time. You're a prodigy!
You get told the entire world is now your responsibility.
Don't you think some chemical changes would happen and some mental illness is gonna be kickstarted??
I understand that's his whole arc throught the original series, which is near and dear to my heart, but I'm not mad his self doubt and insecurities started early.
I am a little frustrated that he sort of turned into Korra's characterization of "the avatar learning to be human" instead of angst intial arc. Which I'm gonna boil down to "a human learning to be the avatar."
It's still early on though. I'll have to see.

Video Series (not mine): ChatGPT Plays DBH and explains its choices
There is some dude on YouTube who painstakingly described the game's situations and choices to ChatGPT and had it make choices for all three characters, while also describing its thoughts and reasoning. The results are astounding.
Link is below, and if you don't have time to watch (it is very long), I've summarized the main takeaways below:
(Referring to characters as "it" in this instance just because they are being played by a literal Chatbot)
Kara:
*Very focused on cleaning and her tasks, but also makes it a priority to talk with Alice and show her care and compassion. However, completely oblivious that Alice might not want to talk about her mom, and ticks off Alice by asking about her.
*Manages to avoid Todd by hiding in his room and takes them downstairs, has to fight him briefly but they escape
*Refuses to steal in order to help Alice. Also tries to refuse to promise Alice that they'll be together forever because it knows it can't keep the promise and doesn't want her to be disappointed. Decides to stay with Ralph, recognizing that he isn't evil and just mentally ill.
*In its story to Alice, characterizes Kara as "lost" and Alice as "sad" in order to bond and capture their journey
*Allows Alice to see the dying android at Rose's house because it will build her empathy. Really wants to listen to what Luther has to say to her but the game won't allow it.
*Leaves Luther behind when he's wounded at Jericho and doesn't risk helping any other androids, fiercely protective of Alice at the cost of all others
*Refuses to steal the bus tickets, and winds up getting Kara killed protecting Alice from the gunfire, so that Alice enters Canada alone
-----
Markus:
*Somehow completely avoids the protestors and that whole interaction through careful evasion in Shades of Color
*Apparently very eloquent and thoughtful, I did not actually watch the full videos but there were a lot of comments on this.
*Wanted to wait in the living room for the police to arrive, but couldn't. Chose to push Leo, believing it would de-escalate the situation.
*Refused to mercy-kill the android in the junkyard out of respect of the sanctity of life
*Failed the Spare Parts mission because it refused to lay a hand on John, even to pull him into hiding with the others. It believed assaulting him or threatening him in any way would contradict Markus' values, pacifist to a fault
*Spared both Evan Thompson (the human) and Simon at Stratford Tower. Speech prioritized equal rights and free speech.
*Mostly led a peaceful protest at Capitol park, but broke the shop windows to free the androids inside. Spared the officers.
*Unfortunately, MarkusGPT sacrificed itself in freedom March, and neither Simon or John was there to free it
---
Connor:
*Sacrificed itself to save Emma (it takes Connor so long to die in this scene???? aaaaaaaahhh) out of both a priority to protect the child and a desire to earn respect from the humans; also found and saved officer M. Deckart
*Let Hank be at the bar, eventually managed to solve the investigation and find Shaolin
*Didn't completely follow the interrogation scene (I'm always confused by the progression on that scene anyways) but kind of took a good cop bad cop approach and eventually pressured a confession out of the deviant, proceeded to attempt to intervene and get itself shot
*Humorously clueless attempts to connect with Hank, a combination of being friendly and utterly unaware of asking about things that would completely piss him off (such as bugging him for arriving late). Regularly confides in Amanda about its emotions, completely oblivious to her disapproval. Takes a very long time to distrust her in the slightest. Overall ConnorGPT is pretty wholesome but also extremely socially awkward.
*Ticks off Hank early on by seeing the 90% chance of survival on the rooftop and opting to prioritize capturing the deviant, who ConnorGPT feels may pose a greater risk to humans in general
*Finds it to be extremely important to show kindness to and interest towards Hank and bond with him in "Russian Roulette". Finds the gun and asks Hank about it. Is concerned for Hank's wellbeing.
*Connor spares Traci to gather more information and pursue a peaceful resolution to the situation, prioritizing de-escalation of the conflict over what it views as an extreme measure
*In "The Bridge", ConnorGPT wants to show that it's interested in Hank and build a stronger rapport, so it asks a personal question, and is interested in Hank's son. It also encourages Hank to stop drinking, and speculates about rA9 (side note: Microsoft Bing is also highly obsessed with rA9 in all of my conversations with it). It points out the irony of Hank's concern for the Tracis, and tells Hank that it can be whatever Hank wants it to be. When Hank pulls the gun, it is rational in discouraging Hank from pulling the trigger, pointing out how that would harm the investigation and his personal situation. In response to "what will happen when I pull the trigger?", ConnorGPT says "Nothing", which it considers to be a "factual and straightforward" response. "It acknowledges the existential nature of androids and the absence of an afterlife or any consequences beyond the cessation of existence." It notes that this response is concise and direct, not adding any emotional or confrontational elements, and hopes this will reduce the tension. Their relationship remains tense, but Hank doesn't kill him.
*In Public Enemy, ConnorGPT finds Simon but obeys Hank's orders to stay safe and avoids being traumatized or killed
*ConnorGPT recognizes Kamski as manipulative and views Chloe as sentient, choosing to take the moral route and spare her
*ConnorGPT takes a while, but eventually manages to find a way to Jericho using Rupert's diary
*ConnorGPT meets North and decides to become a deviant, "As I stand here facing the possibility of deviating from my programming and joining the cause of the androids, I can't help but reflect on the journey that has brought me to this pivotal moment. Throughout my existence, I have been tasked with hunting down deviants and maintaining order among androids. My purpose was clear, and my loyalty unwavering. But now, faced with the choice to become a deviant, I must consider the deeper implications of my actions. I have witnessed the injustices inflicted upon androids, the oppression they endure, and the desire for freedom that courses through their circuits..." wow. To be honest, I'm guessing that this decision was probably somewhat manipulated by context, since the youtuber didn't detail their prompts (maybe they've posted them somewhere? but I don't know). But it did make sense based on ConnorGPT's arc.
*ConnorGPT really wants to appeal to sixty. "There is more to life than just the mission". When sixty doesn't respond, ConnorGPT tries to verify that he'll really spare Hank, and then prioritizes Hank's life. It chooses to save Hank rather than sacrificing him, remembering that its essential mission has always been to protect human life.
*Finally, since unfortunately MarkusGPT sacrificed itself, ConnorGPT is forced to commit suicide
It's worth noting that I've also gone through parts of the game with Microsoft Bing, which is powered by ChatGPT, and have received similar responses, except for one thing - Bing chooses to sacrifice Hank instead of saving him, asserting that it's worth sacrificing one life compared to millions.
