I've talked about this before but I just think the Miss Honey and Matilda relationship in the musical is so good

I love that Miss Honey is so meek and an overthinker- because she didn't have the willpower or chance to do anything against her abusive situation since she was young. She is the exact opposite of Matilda's philosophy of doing what you can even if you're in a horrible situation.

Matilda also grows up in a neglectful and abusive home. She's belittled by her family but she takes revenge in the ways she can. She lives by the idea that even in a horrible, terrible situation you can still find a way to get hope or a way to stand up to them, even if indirectly.

Now, Matilda and Miss Honey's relationship is a pivotal point of the musical if that makes sense. Matilda is established and introduced as a grim reminder that not all children are lucky enough to be considered miracles by doting parents (as evident as her intro in Miracle).

Actually, this theme of 'miracle' is very important to Miss Honey and Matilda. Nobody calls Matilda a miracle- except for Miss Honey. It's also notable that Miss Honey finds strength when the matter comes to Matilda. She's amazed by this girl and even in situations where she is clearly riddled with self-loathing and self-doubt, she clearly already adores Matilda.

Recently I bought game pass for pc and finally got to play Psychonauts 2. I’m still very far from the ending, but I’m really liking the game so far. The only bummer is that I feel like every character is either dismissive or completely rude towards the protagonist, which makes me not like very much any of the new characters. So I thought, “Raz surely deserved a better group of friends… What if I draw other psychic characters in Psychonauts style?” It was challenging trying to emulate the game style, I don’t know if I nailed it, but it was a great learning experience.

Propaganda Under Cut:

Zinnia Wormwood (Mother of Matilda and Mikey Womrwood): Zinnia loves her son who was like her and accepting of her family's ways. She new understood her genius daughter and when she chose to be adopted by someone who would love and support her she accepted that and gave away custody to Mrs Honey which encouraged her husband to do the same.

Queen Ramonda (Mother T'Challa and Shuri): Cared deeply for her children. Stood by T'Challa's side and supported him when he became King. Was deeply grieved to loose both of her children to the Snap and very relieved when the Avengers brought everyone back. And later lost T'Challa to disease and grieved terribly for her lost son leading her judgment to become clouder and to becoming very protective of Shuri the last of her family and going so far to starting a war to protect her.

She didn’t like her story, but did she roll over and take it? NO she kicked down the fourth wall with mischief, intelligence, kindness, and genre awareness. She’s the ultimate escapologist. Truly a role model for kids everywhere.

Matilda also demonstrates a disregard for hierarchy, and doesn’t understand changing the way she acts to suit different social needs. She gets in trouble for basically “mouthing off” more than once and is genuinely confused as to why cause all she was doing was correcting misinformed adults. It doesn’t really occur to her that an abusive adult flailing around and screaming about a snake probably isn’t gonna be very receptive to the fact that it is, in fact, a newt instead.

Musical Theater Roles I'd Love to Play and Why I Want to but Couldn't

I love playing sweet and compassionate characters

Since my youth I've known I wanted to be an underestimated woman who showed everybody I was better than they assumed

I'm nowhere near a soprano

When I told my friend I wanted to play her she replied with "but you're Mexican". So thats a factor too lol
