Oh my god, another TDWT au???? Whaaaaaat?

This au will feature Chaos Gremlin Noah. We've seen in canon he genuinely enjoys chaos and drama as long as it's not involving him, and I wanted to focus a whole fic around that. In this one, he is way more apathetic than in my other aus, and he is really only friends with Team E-Scope and Owen. So he really doesn't care what happens to anyone besides his friends in the competition.

Him being a little Chaos Gremlin is why he has managed to be Chris McLean's longest standing employee ever. They get on like a house on fire. Chris is arguably a king of chaos, so I just love the idea of him emotionally adopting little chaos gremlin Noah and bonding with him. In this au, Chris does tell Noah about having to fire him, and of course, they plan to stage it while Noah helps budget and take inventory of everything they will need for the new season. He is also publicly helping with the fake show, so it looks like he has no idea about the new season. There are some interns and crew who would love to snitch to the producers on him and Chris if they caught wind of their plans.

Noah is the one who selected and approved Alejandro, being the newest competitor as well as one of the fake stars of Dirtbags. If anything else, the guy will stir things up and make things entertaining for Noah while he pretends to be lazy and useless. But Noah and Chris agreed that he would embrace his original marketed title as Schemer. And he's all for it, as long as it keeps him entertained.

A bored Noah is a dangerous Noah. Chris found this out the hard way. (He never thought he would have to talk a teen out of actively blackmailing a very successful producer in the company, but well, life is full of surprises).

Noah knows all the challenges because he helped plan some! He was very proud of himself. Oh, he made sure things were safe but just barely, I mean, he doesn't want to end up hurt or dead in these challenges, so he had to make some safety features and everything. It's weird, but Noah actually feels...excited about the new season. Oh, and he left Chris some of his blackmail material in case they producers want to change anything or are being assholes. They had been planning on buying out the company, and Noah thinks this is the perfect chance. Chris will run the show how he wants, and when he gets complaints, some anonymous "interns" will leak the messages, emails, or calls and show the viewers just how fucked up and corrupt the producers are. This plan has been a year in the making.

Which is a long time for one of Noah's plans to take off, but they want to do this right and come out the winners/heroes.

The day of the plan dawns, and Noah is practically trembling in excitement, but he's had a lot of practice pushing down his real emotions (thanks, Mason). He played his role perfectly all up to the bus rescue. He thankfully was able to get Eva to stay by pretending to fall asleep, but he knew she knew he wasn't sleeping. The trust she has for him has him feeling all warm and fuzzy. He loves Eva. She's basically his ninth sister. Beth ended up staying, too, because Lindsay wanted to paint her best friends nails, and that absolutely could not wait.

The rescue happened, and finally, they were on the bus to the plane. Eva wanted the window seat, and Noah would give it to her since she stayed. Plus, the aisle seat was perfect for observing everyone and seeing what was going on. It looks like Harold and Leshawna were off again, which was not surprising, which would mean a small amount of entertainment for Noah. Then there was the whole Gwen, Courtney, Duncan thing that had Noah holding back a smile. That whole train wreck would bring him so much entertainment.

But who really had his attention was Mr. New Guy. Oh, he knew his name, Alejandro, but he had to pretend he didn't. He could already hear the giggles from the girls who thought he was attractive, and he could already hear the boys grumbling. Noah made sure to give a comment or two about he hoped Mr. New Guy wouldn't just be another Justin, which made some laugh, and Courtney glared at him. Oh yeah, he forgot those two were friends. He also caught the slight smirk from Alejandro before the boy suppressed it.

The competition began, and Noah was surprised that Ezekiel made it, but with Duncan up and quitting (goodbye love triangle drama), it made sense that they had to even out the teams. So, the first challenge became a reward. Boring.

He saw the way Alejandro had flirted with the girls, specifically Bridgette and Leshawna. Which probably meant they were his first targets. Oh, that was fun~!

And he could help move things along! And if, by doing so, he got rid of Harold, even better! So he made sure to make comments about Leshawna falling for Alejandro when he was close to Harold. Or he would make sure to act disgusted at the cultural insensitivity (yes. Noah will always be responsible for Harold's elimination XD). It got the ginger right where he wanted.

Then Harold was gone, and Noah knew it wasn’t all him given he had witnessed Alejandro talking to Harold a lot, and he caught on to the subtle manipulations. That guy was good!

Then the Yukon happened, and he knew he didn't hide his glee at seeing Bridgette stuck to a pole well, given the look Alejandro had given him.

"Good work." He whispered with a snicker to Alejandro.

"I'm not sure what you mean mi amigo." Of course the guy would play dumb but whatever.

"Hmm. Whatever you say." He tried to be blasé but the wide smile then kept growing on his face was probably a dead giveaway of how he felt.

And maybe that's what shot him in the foot because the next day, Alejandro was flirting with him. Noah was pretty confident it was because Alejandro was scared he figured him out (he did) and was going to expose him or something. Like hell! This was the most fun he was having on a season. And if him acting coy or shy or flirting a little back with Alejandro had most of the females mad at him, so be it. It just made everything all the more entertaining to him.

He did hurt his ankle in the Yukon (this will always be canon to me), so pain medication was a must but he had been stubborn in not taking it because it either makes him drowsy or puts him right to sleep and he doesn't want to be voted out (and miss out on all the drama and fun) because he couldn't contribute much to the challenge. But Izzy, Owen, and Alejandro made him take the medication.

So, the next challenge, he was a little out of it, but Izzy or Owen carried him when there was running or walking. He was able to climb the rope at least, and he volunteered to be put in the baby carriage, which was fine by him. He fell asleep, which was not a surprise.

No being swapped with a baby, though, because Alejandro made Izzy guard Noah. Heather had planned on doing something but couldn't because even she was not crazy enough to go against Izzy.

It was a reward challenge, which was great! What was not great was the challenge in Germany! Noah wanted first class! He craved it! And he knew they had it in the bag the moment he saw Alejandro flirting with Leshawna again. He made sure to have discussions with Izzy when Leshawna was around and made it seem like he didn't know she was there.

"I mean, it's honestly pathetic. How obvious Heather's crush on Alejandro is." He drawled.

"Izzy knows!!! Girl has got it bad! I didn't think you'd notice it, though NoNo. You're not usually one to notice these things." Izzy gossiped as she tried to put Noah's hair into pigtails. She knew what he was doing and was all for it. He's her chaos brother!

"Normally, and this kills me to say, but normally you'd be right. But it's so obvious that even Owen has noticed, and that's saying something."

"I don't know, Owen is pretty good at knowing when someone likes someone."

"Agree to disagree."

"Is this about him trying to set you up with that-"

"We are not talking about that!" Well, no acting there was necessary. He did not want to talk about that disaster of a date. Ever.

"Well, it's not like Heather has realized it yet, which makes it all the more entertaining for us." This is why he loved Izzy. She knew when to drop things, she knew how to roll with his plans, and she liked chaos just as much if not more than him.

"True. I'm more worried about what she'd do because of said crush. Even if she doesn't realize it, she's already snapped at her teammates when he's flirted with Leshawna."

"Oh yeah! She definitely seems like one of those people who would do anything to get someone to back off her crush. Izzy knows."

"Mmm. You would seeing as you're the same way. Normally, I don't worry for anyone, but I can't help but feel bad for Leshawna."

"Why?"

"Because it's obvious Alejandro likes her, and we already established that Heather likes him, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Heather will so or do something to come between the two."

"Oooooh."

He couldn't hold back his smirk when he heard Leshawna storm off, and Izzy immediately matched his with one of her own.

Then the challenge happened, and he played up not knowing what Alejandro was doing up until the guy purposefully lost the challenge. Once they were back in the plane, he immediately dragged the guy down to the cargo hold to confront him. He, of course, tried to deny everything and tried to flirt with Noah in the same breath. Noah was not having it.

With more strength than he thought himself capable of, he shoved the guy into the nearest wall. He had to look up, given he was only to the guy's chest (short king Noah, my beloved), but he poked him in his abs to get his attention.

"I don't care that you got into Harold's head and made him vote himself off. Mainly because I was getting into his head first. And I don't care that you helped and flirted with Bridgette enough to get her to make out with a pole! In fact, I thought it was hilarious." He admitted.

And just to see more of a reaction than just the wide green eyes he was staring into, Noah started walking his fingers up Alejandro's torso oh so slowly. It got the eyes off of him for a second, and he thought maybe he saw a blush forming, but those green eyes held his attention once more.

"And I even decided to be nice and help you get to Leshawna! I had to let Izzy mess with my hair! But it was all for the sake of getting entertainment, and you, sir, make a lot of it happen. So I was content to let you play your game."

His fingers reached Alejandro's bull necklace, which he wound his fingers around and tugged.

He didn't miss the gasp the boy in front of him breathed out, given how close they now were.

"But I'm not so content when your actions mess with my game. I don't like to lose when I know we had every opportunity to win and would have won had you not thrown. You may not think much of me, I mean, I did get out early in the first season. But then again, I manipulated my way into being thrown off. I was not about to spend my summer in that shitty camp. And so far I've been playing in the shadows this season."

Great. He was monologuing like some cheesy villain. But I mean...he was being paid to play a villain this season, so he might as well go all in.

"I'm keeping you around for my entertainment and amusement. Purposefully losing is not something I find amusing, so the next challenge you better give it your all or I'm going to have to really play and you don't want that." He hissed before leaning back and patting Alejandro's cheek and letting go of his necklace.

"Good talk." And with that, he sauntered out. That was fun!

He missed the absolute heart eyes Alejandro had been giving him.

Basically, a villain Noah au, where Alejandro falls for him so hard. The two create an alliance and dominate the game, all the while Alejandro is trying to get Noah to date him. Noah thinks it's just Alejandro being Alejandro, but he does like him, and he thinks it's very funny that the guy can't handle when Noah flirts back with him.

Total Drama Psycho Noah AU, after the 'London Adventure' and the truth being revealed, Chris then decides to make this a reward challenge... The reward is that EVERYONE gets to be in First Class, with NOAH... Chris and Noah are curious to see, who will be brave enough to actually enter First Class, after learning about Noah's insanity... How would Courtney + Gwen + Duncan reacts to seeing the video of Noah's insane side showing? 😈 Would Alejandro and Noah still be friends? 😈

Listen, as much as this idea is so fucking funny to me, I really don't think it'd work from a storytelling perspective.

Though (not to push any agendas here, but-) if Chris were to hypothetically have the remaining contestants go against Noah in an enclosed space, in a sort of predator-vs-prey scenario, it'd probably play out something like The Beast chapter in Slay The Princess... without the "eating them alive" aspect, of course.

(Heavy Content Warning for that link, by the way. There's a lot of violence/gore/body horror, among other stuff, by virtue of it being a horror game.)

Maybe he'd lock everyone in the First Class cabin and turn off all of the room's electronics, so the only source of light in the cabin would be the wavering moonlight from whatever tiny windows are dotted around. Noah would use the cover of darkness to his advantage and toy with his competitors in a similar vein to how the Ripper had in their challenge that day, darting silently through the shadows to 'capture' his castmates, picking them off one by one.

It'd be a fun game of cat-and-mouse for Noah. For the others? It'd be a living nightmare. They wouldn't have the luxury of knowing that Noah wouldn't really hurt them, and the bloodlust they'd seen on that screen would be terrifying to watch but downright petrifying to experience first hand. They would be genuinely fearing for their lives, in a way that Chris hadn't been able to prompt since the early days of Island, and the host would love it.

Not that he would do that. And not that Noah would actually attack anyone either. (Without reason to, of course.)

But you are right about one thing; if this AU were to become a fully-fledged story, the London challenge would have to be a reward, just to keep Noah in the competition. Because he literally snapped Zeke's arms like chopsticks- his team would vote him out in a heartbeat just by virtue of him being so dangerous.

Which means the whole of Team Chris (plus Duncan) would be sharing a poorly-lit, structurally unsound cabin with someone they're terrified of.

...Owen notwithstanding, since Owen's a sweetheart and he knows Noah.

But the others would be immediately on guard around him. Noah, knowing there's no reason to keep up his ruse of sarcastic apathy, would probably relish in their fear- he enjoys tormenting people, after all, especially when that torment is purely psychological. So he'd carry on playing the 'unhinged, bloodthirsty sociopath' just to watch the others squirm.

He'd probably make a huge show of still having the Ripper's knife, tucked safely in the sleeve of his white undershirt, and comment that he and Duncan could be 'knife buddies' or something. If only to see how the punk's pierced face would drain of all colour at the prospect of Noah having a sharp object. (Duncan would absently rub at the puncture scars on his hand, to Noah's delight.)

But it'd eventually get boring, I imagine, so Noah would do something to reassure his teammates that he's not some ethics-devoid monster hellbent on destruction. Because having your teammates be in a state of constant paranoia around you would get annoying after a while, and it'd impact their performance in the competition (which Noah isn't really all that concerned with, but Owen is, so Noah doesn't want to do anything to jeopardise their chances of winning challenges).

So he'd drop the exaggeration of his more violent traits, and intentionally show off the unharmful aspects of himself- namely by koala-clinging to Owen and acting 'normally' like they'd done before the London challenge, and/or by approaching Tyler to ask how he was feeling after being stretched on the rack and sheepishly apologise for leaving him behind (showing empathy and remorse, to humanise himself n front of his teammates).

He's insane, not heartless.

As for Alejandro...? I have no idea. Would he even want to risk approaching Noah to find out if their shared comradery was all a ruse? Would whatever tentative trust he had in Noah be completely shattered by the reveal? Or would he be so engulfed by his need to win the competition that he only views this new development as a boon, since now Noah can be more of a physical asset for their team?

It'd probably be a mix of all of these. Alejandro would be left off-footed by the reveal of p!Noah's 'true self' (however much of his 'true self' he's willing to show to others) but I imagine he'd be quick to ally himself with the guy who can break bones like they're chalk and deceive a whole cast of people for two and a half seasons, regardless of any personal misgivings.

Of the many things Stiles inherited from his mom - his eyes, his jeep, his curiosity - one undeniable thing was that when it came to mischief and more importantly revenge, he was very much his mother's son. Claudia Gajos had been a trickster growing up and while it has been tempered somewhat by age, marriage and motherhood, she still had a love of jokes and pranks. And when it came to revenge, however petty? She was unstoppable.

One particular incident always stuck out to Stiles. There was a man who lived near them who was a notorious drinker. Which, fine, whatever. But unfortunately he was also a frequent drink driver, spending most nights at a bar and then driving home. He was also great friends with the then Sheriff which meant a lot of complaints were ignored and those that weren't tended to only get a very minor slap on the wrists.

This would have been enough to get Claudia's ire on its own but it was the events of one Halloween when Stiles was six that pushed her over the edge.

The two of them has been trick or treating, Stiles in a tiny dragon costume, his mom dressed as a princess (Stiles insisted that he didn't want to be a knight, that the princess should stay with the dragon cause dragons were cool and could breathe fire and knights were boring). On their way home, there was a screech of tires and a car veered dangerously close to hitting Stiles. Claudia managed to pull him out of the way just in time and watched as the car continued on.

She tried to report it the next day but since Stiles wasn't injured and there was only her word, she left with an excuse ringing in her ear and a steadily simmering fire burning in her gut.

In the next few days, she brought her husband coffee from a local cafe. Nothing unusual about this, she did it fairly often when work was slow. But each time she bought it, she would pocket a handful of sugar packets despite knowing Noah had never drunk his coffee anything but black.

And then the next time she saw the car depart for the bar, she waited for a little while before sneaking out and carefully emptying her sugar packets into his gas tank.

And she repeated the process every time he went to the bar. Even when, frustrated, he parked in view of the CCTV camera, she found a way (a feat even Stiles wasn't sure how she accomplished).

The sheriff was furious but there was no evidence and any of the officers who might have guessed Claudia's involvement were not inclined to share these thoughts. After all, Stiles was their boy and he'd almost been hurt. Besides, the streets were far safer with one less drunk driver.

Eventually the man was forced to stop taking his car when he went out to drink.

I’ll answer the best I can. Bear in mind I’m a little bit of a chaos gremlin :)

About Me

When did you first start writing?

About 12 years old. I always took a liking to Disney animated classics, which have inspired me to write and draw similar to the style.

Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?

Actually, the two are very similar. What I love to write is what I love to read. I’ve taken more of a fancy to writing romances now as opposed to a decade ago, though :)

Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you’re often compared?

Not that I’m aware of. Everyone has taken a little bit of inspiration from different sources, whether knowingly or unknowingly, so there are probably some authors or writers that I share similarities with. I know for a FACT that a lot of my stories draw heavy inspiration from Disney, which has influenced my art and storytelling styles ✨

Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.)

Ahhh, yes. Couch, coffee table, writing laptop, coffee. Soft throw draped across my lap as I get perpetually cold. Thankfully, it’s nice and quiet in this writing space and it allows me to let me do string-of-thought writing for hours. The only thing is sometimes I lose track of time this way, so I have to set an alarm for breaks and meals.

What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse?

Watching movies, listening in on my friends’ DnD campaigns, or reading stories from friends and mutuals :)

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?

Not really. I keep my personal life and writing life pretty separate. After all, a great thing about writing fantasy is that it doesn’t HAVE to tie in to the real world, or personal life. It can be whatever I want it to be ✨

Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?

Recurring themes? You bet. I either write a high fantasy BL Romance, or low fantasy slice-of life RomCom. My favorite writing tropes are Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Found Families, Romantic Comedy, Magic in the Mundane, Slice of Life, Call to Action/Prophecy, and Absurdism.

Do they surprise me? Absolutely. I can have a beautiful plot all planned out, and then my characters say, “okay I see the route, but what if we take a sliiiiight detour? :)” and then soon enough I’m on a totally unique and unexplored path in my writing….and that’s exciting. An adventure all on its own ✨

My Characters

Would you please tell me about your current favorite character? (Current WIP, past WIP, never used, etc.)

I fear if I don’t say Peter here, he’s gonna kill me. In my current WIP, my favorite character is Ali because he’s a lovable goofball genie that wants the best for Noah. Overall currently (side eying) Peter because he’s a chaotic-neutral, anti-establishment, insane pirate captain that makes my life entertaining 😂

Which of your characters do you think you’d be friends with in real life?

Ali. Hands down. Dude gets along with just about everyone.

Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them?

Any of the villains I wrote, but going off of main OCs? Gosh that’s tough….probably Tyr because he’s really angry all the time (for good reason, but too much of that is toxic)

Tell me about the process of coming up with of one, all, or any of your characters.

Oh boy. That’s a big one. Let’s see….

Character building kinda happens simultaneously to Plot Planning; it’s a bit hard to describe, as there’s no “right order” to my world building. But usually it’s: “Okay, who is my protagonist? Who is the antagonist? What do they look like? Is the protag a hero, or villain? Is the antag a hero, or villain? What is their ‘general moral alignment?’ What are their characteristics? What are their strengths? What are their flaws? What are their goals and aspirations? Etc.” I do this for each major character. Then, secondary and supporting characters, who get a little less polish but still enough to be human (or relatable) in nature, start getting fleshed out.

Once I get the Core Plots and characters made and planned out, I start piecing the events in chronological order in the story. This becomes my “roadmap” that helps drive the narrative. Then….well, the rest just kinda falls into place. Once I have a “Plan of Events,” all that’s left is writing the story around the plan. And, as I’m writing, new ideas may come, and I get to explore that a little further during the writing phase.

tl;dr: I do the “Tree Approach.” Characters are the foundational trunk. Branches are the Core Plots. Twigs are the Conflicts. Leaves are the little details of each conflict (i.e. how characters react, where the conflict is set, what this means for each character’s aspirations, etc.)

Yep :)

How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc.)

What’s your reason for writing?

Personal enjoyment, mainly. And how far I can stretch and challenge my creative mind ✨

Is there a specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating coming from your readers?

Any story reactions and positive engagement is always appreciated. Just don’t be a dick and you’re good 👍

How do you want to be thought of by those who read your work? (For example: as a literary genius, or as a writer who “gets” the human condition; as a talented worldbuilder, as a role model, etc.)

I loathe this question. As long as people enjoy my stories, that’s what matters. I’m just one silly little guy writing stories for my own enjoyment. The fact that other people can enjoy my wild ideas as well is a blessing in of itself.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Comedy and Dialogue. And comedic timing.

What have you been frequently told your greatest writing strength is by others?

Same as above. Also have been told that I have wildly entertaining and outlandishly creative ideas portrayed in “insane, chaotic, and ballsy ways.” Coolio 🤙

How do you feel about your own writing? (Answer in whatever way you interpret this question.)

I’m proud of it. I’ve successfully written stories that I wanted to read, and reading back through my stories is really entertaining and motivating :)

If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write?

I’ve already been writing stories on my own for well over a decade, nearly two. It was my husband and friends who finally pushed me to go public, and I’m very glad I did :)

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely what you enjoy? If it’s a mix of the two, which holds the most influence?

I write solely for my entertainment, and my personal opinion is that’s the best way to do it, honestly. If I write stories that I want to read, I enjoy them, I spend more effort on them because I WANT to, not to please anyone other than myself. I don’t inhibit myself or censor myself, allowing me creative freedom to write wherever my heart takes me….which has led to some WILDLY entertaining plots. Even if writing is a career to some, if you find yourself enjoying what you write, you’re gonna motivate yourself beyond your wildest imaginations ✨

I'm just going to say it. the TSP fandom/community has no shortage of problems. But like hell if that's going to stop me from enjoying TSP.

It just feels like bopping the TSP gremlin over the head whenever it shuffles off and... makes bad life choices again. You just have to pitch in and help control the chaos.

I will still interact with the good side of the community. I will still interact with friends, and join Discord servers. I will not be returning to the TSP Creator Club for the foreseeable future. I will take no accusations of Noah being "a shameless copy of Thierry." I will take no negative comment of their relationship. I will not tolerate false accusations thrown at my friends.

I have made many friends in the TSP community, it's something that I hold close to my heart. I've seen friends come and go from the community, many of which I still keep in contact with. But I will still be here. My creations will still be here.

My interest may lessen over time, but I will never truly leave. I may have breakdowns and withdraw from servers, but I will never truly leave. After all, I couldn't have asked for better friends.

I did not intend to write Noah as a free-floating chaos gremlin, but I can’t deny it’s right up there with the One Highland for funniest running joke of the series. Things that Spark Joy-3x07

I know if you’ve been reading my asks it’s a lot of salt but that’s because I’m a salt gremlin and a petty ass bench 🤷‍♀️ But there were a lot of things I enjoyed about this episode so lets talk about it! If you haven’t overdosed on sodium already, there is more salt here. 

So for starters, I am an absolute sucker for getting the episode title said IN the episode, I always find it hilarious. With RNM since they use song titles it’s often deeply disappointing to not hear the song during the episode or to have the song title have something to do with the theme of the episode. They are doing a little better on that last one this season, but this episode, we not only got to hear the song “Goodnight, Elizabeth”, but Jones also said, “Goodnight, Elizabeth” like the sassy villain he is and I LOVED it!

Jones continues to be one of the best things to happen to the show. He is interesting and compelling and evil enough to kill someone with a smile. NGL I’m going to be disappointed when he’s gone because he brings such life, and dark energy to the show and I am LOVING it. All the cool fire scenes with him were fun, plus he gets lots of sassy one-liners which any good villain should!  “Sit down and show some respect for your father, son”, “Did you try to drug me, Elizabeth?”, “Everyone eventually bends to me” *chef’s kiss*

But also, seeing Liz, who was pretty handy in tricking Noah, getting played so thoroughly by Jones was chilling and SUCH a good viewing experience. Their game of cat and mouse was fun and interesting to watch, especially in that moment when they were dancing and Liz seemed to forget he wasn’t Max and you can see that realization cross her face a little. (But girl, I can’t blame you. I love a nerdy book boy as much as anyone, but Jones is just SO....something. Charismatic? Confident? IDK but I find him so much more interesting than Max which I think at this point is clearly the writers fault for making him boring because DAMN is Nathan Dean killing it as Jones!)

Speaking of Liz, her pointing the gun at him, and then cracking him in the face when he least expected her to? Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique etc etc etc. It was SO GOOD to see Liz (mostly 🙄) being the center of the episode and Jeanine delivered! I’m also very intrigued about this 3rd DNA “bonding” strand and I can’t wait to get more info on that and what it means (mostly for Malex soulmate reasons, but also because it’s cool). This season has it’s flaws (boy howdy does it!), but one of the things they are getting spectacularly right, is leaning hard into the alien/sci-fi element of the show that c*rina was never really interested in exploring. It’s sometimes lacking in research (I’m so sorry for your pain, SaL anon!), but for the most part it has been a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see more!

We also got some sweet family moments with Isobel teasing Liz about her slip in calling him “our Max” and making sure Liz knows Max still missed her, as well as when Jones leaves and the car explodes. You can see Isobel reaching to grab Liz (the height difference! 😭😭😭 Jeanine is so tiny!) as Michael is reaching to grab Isobel, and as they all hide behind the truck, Isobel and Rosa are together, and Liz has her arm around Michael. 🥺🥺🥺 This shift from their season 1 dynamics is so good to see.

While we are on the good sibling vibes, this episode proved what I already knew, which is that Michael should have been training Rosa all along. Amber and Vlamis play off each other SO well and Michael understands her and isn’t afraid to banter with her or offended when she’s “rude” (I’m sure her sass reminds him of Alex too as much as her anger reminds him of himself. 🥺) And the Isobel, Rosa, Michael dynamic was just such a delight! More of this please! Also we got such gems as “run along Flipper”, “Obi-Wan-Junkyard-y”, “It sounds like chaos and evil had a hate baby” and many more! 

I’m intrigued about this new pastor and if he’ll be another resource for Rosa. I personally love the idea of a preacher having to be brought in on the alien secret and it would give Rosa someone she could actually confide in for reals. I’m also so proud that after being at the bar all day, getting left there (see the salt post for my feelings on THAT mess), and feeling useless and like a failure, that she still held it together and in the end, was the one to come to the rescue. Rosa is the only one to bring a gun to the alien fight and win since Roy did it several decades ago. We have no choice but to stan.

I’m so happy that Eduardo is back on track to being a good father-figure for Alex AND Kyle, and I’m glad we know where Kyle is, and that he has at least one person looking out for him (sorry, I’m trying not to let too much of the salt leak over but you can’t do my boy Kyle dirty like that and expect me not to yell about it whenever I get the chance). Alex asking Kyle to open his eyes and saying he could use one of their fireside chats 😭😭😭 If nothing else we are getting fed on the Kylex brotp front!

Eduardo, like Sanders, ALSO BEEN KNEW THIS WHOLE TIME about Malex! And while Jesse thought Alex was weak because he was gay, Eduardo says that Alex’s love is a strength. BRB sobbing about those parallels.

I am SO EXCITED about this Deep Sky plot and how it’s going to tie into things and learning more about the Lockhart Machine. $100 says Nora built it and when Michael FINALLY gets to share some info with Alex and gets to see the machine, I feel like it might open or light up for him and I can’t wait to see it! I’m also curious that IF (he’s still on thin ice for the gun/handcuffs stunt) Eduardo is a good guy, where Jesse got the idea that Deep Sky was the big bad bogyman? Or was he just trying to scare Max? But didn’t he mention people disappearing? I’m wondering if Jim wasn’t the only inside man DS had, and if they were getting scientist out who had, ya know, a grain of humanity left and were against what was going on, but Jesse just thought their people were being “disappeared” by some other shadowy organization.

So, I’ll be honest, I was a) not trying too hard to figure out who Jones was because I’m liking the twists and surprises, but also I wasn’t convinced he was the dictator but I have never been so happy to be proven wrong. It was a fun reveal doing it through the sword like that (and the Star Wars parallels are just *chef’s kiss*) and Michael’s big, blinky eyes and the same stutter he used when he found out about his mom 🥺🥺🥺 Vlamis is killing it this season and I’m very excited to see where the story takes us next week,

Most importantly, Alex fell in love with an alien prince. And if there’s one thing this season has given us, it is all the memes and chances to use my favorite tag #alex manes known alien fucker

"I guess I'll go youngest to oldest. Marik? Still not sure what his deal was, and not sure I care. He basically broke every rule my tournament had, and had his goons kidnap Mokuba just to force me into a duel. He's lucky that Mokuba managed to escape on his own, or I'd be out for his head. Pass.

Ishizu? I understand why she did what she did, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Pass.

Odion? Considering he pretended to be Marik, then was unconscious for most of the tournament, I barely know anything about him. I guess I can admire him stumbling out of the blimp to try and help his little brother. Pretty far walk for a guy that got struck by lightning. Still, not interested."

[[P.owershipping, right? I dunno, I’m not big on this one. Not sure I can really pinpoint a reason why? I think I didn’t get into Marik at first because he was in the background for so much of Season 2, and when he did start interacting with the main cast directly, he got overshadowed by his Yami-half pretty quickly. I’ve warmed up to him a bit though, and he does seem like a decent pair with Kaiba on paper. The only real mark against Marik is that he kidnapped Mokuba that one time, but... honestly Kaiba doesn’t really seem to hold that against him in the show. Or much of anything Marik does. He was more attracted to the Winged Dragon of Ra than its owner.

T.rustshipping is in the same camp as A.zureshipping in that it’s not gonna happen, but I like it! I think I like Azure a little more, but Trust is pretty cool. Ishizu is an awesome character that I wish got to duel more on-screen, and just do more stuff in general besides sit around the blimp and worry. It would’ve been cool to see her in the Noah arc.

A lot of people fanon Kaiba and Ishizu as friends, relating to each other by being the older sibling to their chaos gremlin younger brothers. Which I do love, however for my Kaiba, he’s still pretty disturbed by everything Ishizu did and hasn’t processed it. He hated all the flashbacks at the museum and haaaaated their duel. I don’t know if anyone has gotten to Kaiba in a duel like Ishizu has, to the point that he nearly gave up. So I think they could be friends, but only after my boy gets through all of his pent-up anger and denial and confusion. So yeah, that’s gonna be awhile.

I don’t know what that Odion x Kaiba ship name is, I do know there’s a Kaiba blog around here somewhere that singleships it. And it seems like a really sweet idea! Got that same Trust vibe of two older siblings, being able to relate to each other. A lot of development would have to occur for this one though, not only with Kaiba having to learn to like Odion, but also learn to like his siblings. I imagine they’re a bit of a package deal, in the same way that you’re not getting with Seto if Mokuba doesn’t approve of you.]]

Starburst, she/her, pastel green - she's the first one to take a step and the noise that Stormbrake makes can truly only be heard by dogs, it's only one step before she falls over but he's so proud of her!

Freewing, they/them, brownish-red - being a flying Autobot makes them an anomaly, and the adults are secretly wondering if it's going to be possible to ground them once they start learning how to fly

Comet, xie/hir, turquoise - unstoppable energy, literally an energizer bunny, xie wants to experience everything and is not concerned for the little things like 'personal safety' and 'road traffic'

Athena, she/her, forest green - an absolute nerd through and through who has very little time for the chaotic idiots she was made with and instead keeps pestering Arcee to tell her cool science things (Arcee absolutely loves her)

Aeropoint, he/him, navy blue - his transformation cog wasn't fully formed, so while he'll eventually only have one alt form, he can make changes to his robot form, like giving himself a wingsuit-style flaps between his limbs or a second set of arms (this enables much chaos)

Wolf, he/him, black and ice blue - entirely uninterested in whatever nonsense the other sparklings are doing and is content to cuddle up to Stormbrake and help him fill out crosswords

Silverstreak, they/them, brown and silver - they have the ability to change their fingertips to short cat-like claws and use this to climb up the leg of an Autobot instead of asking to be picked up, gremlin

Sunblade, she/her, gold and red - she could not be more enamoured with the human world, and will listen to Mirage and Bee talk about their humans for hours. very nearly goes home with Noah once.

Blitz, she/her, fox orange - one of the stasis pods was damaged, and it was hers. she can't hear and can't form projectile weapons. instead Optimus will eventually teach her to fight with bladed weapons, and she can fortunately tell when other bots are around her (remember the ripples in the water in Jurassic Park?)

Flux, he/him, neon pink - his mind is extremely tech-oriented, he can reassemble anything he takes apart with an eidetic memory and knack for figuring out where things are supposed to go. keeps trying to take apart things they actually need but has never once been in trouble for it

Torrent, he/him, grey and lime green - seagull mind, osprey body. I'm disrespecting canon to say there was a Maximal faction on Cybertron all along, but he was the only remaining one by the time he was created (and is unique among the other sparklings in that his spark was inherited from the most recently deceased Maximal)

Sprocket, they/them, purple - they're the smallest and also the most athletic, which is enough to have everyone else constantly panicked about oh shit Sprocket disappeared again! their favourite hobby is sitting somewhere they never should have been able to get to and watch everyone search for them in a panic

More Sparkling thoughts:

They're one of the last batches made on Cybertron before [insert a catastrophe that prevented the making of new ones]. They were intended to be raised as soldiers, but then the war took a bad turn for the Autobots and it became clear they'd never grow up in time. So the most injured, and therefore least combat effective, Autobot is made their guardian. Their name was Widespot.

One of the last remaining transport ships was loaded with the stasis pods holding the Sparklings, and Widespot barely managed to get off Cybertron. It was a minor miracle that they were able to escape, but there were a few Decepticon ships in pursuit, so their ultimate fate is questionable in everyone's minds.

Especially since the ship was supposed to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots on Earth, and then never showed up. As the years passed, and then the decades, it became obvious that Widespot (and all the sparklings, by extension) were killed by the Decepticon ships.

When the Transwarp Drive was destroyed, the resulting explosion of energy sent ripples across the universe. This generally meant nothing in the grand scheme of things - a handful of asteroids getting put into other quadrants of space, far from the Milky Way - but one ripple caught the ship and brought it into orbit around Earth.

It stayed there for twenty-nine years, unbothered by the human astronauts who thought it was just more space junk. Eventually its orbit degraded enough that it plummeted through the atmosphere and landed in upstate New York.

The Autobots find the ship with Widespot dead in the control seat. Decepticons fired on the ship, disabling all its systems and killing its pilot, and left it to drift through space since they thought the stasis pods were destroyed.

Except they weren't! So the bots have a dozen brand new sparklings to look after. There's a few thoughts from the older bots, about how the sparklings might end up as soldiers after all, but for the most part it's a very festive mood! The sparklings are the absolute cutest thing imaginable, and also kind of need constant supervision to stay out of trouble.

They're intelligent enough to solve problems, and by extension, they cause plenty of problems too. Unfortunately, being like two weeks old, they have no concept of danger. They will walk out into the road or try to pet a rabid raccoon if left to their own devices. They also basically have the moral code of a flock of seagulls, just because they haven't learned otherwise yet.

Fortunately, they all really love Stormbrake, and are happy to cuddle up to him for hours at a time. (And he's happy to hold them! They mean more to him than anything or anyone else.) Nobody lets Mirage babysit without supervision, because he also has the moral code of a seagull sometimes. But Stormbrake can get him to behave, so they make a great team. Especially when Bee teaches the sparklings their first curse and gets banned from babysitting for two months.

the  mainland  awaits  him  ,  several  years  jumping  from  family  member  to  family  member  before  finally  -  a  cousin  in  new  york  when  he’s  fifteen  .  noah’s  cool  ,  he’s  in  his  twenties  &  cleared  out  an  entire  room  to  take  care  of  him  &  jonah  finally  remembers  what  it’s  like  to  be  home  &  happy  .  the  eve  of  his  sixteenth  birthday  ,  he  discovers  a  series  of  letters  from  family  members  over  the  years  -   they’re  all  dead  .  uncle  jeff  ,  aunt  marjorie  ,  aunt  kelsey  in  oregon  ,  aunt  janice  in  wisconsin  .  his  story  unfolds  before  him  ,  he’s  dangerous  ,  the  son  of  a  god  -  &  suddenly  ,  he  knows  the  name  of  the  gods  marjorie  &  jeff  used  to  say  .

he  begs  noah  to  take  him  to  camp  half  blood  ,  tells  him  he  doesn’t  want  noah  to  die  either  .  his  cousin  is  cool  ,  laughs  &  reassures  him  that  the  westcott  lineage  is  strong  ,  that  they  can’t  be  wiped  out  that  easily  -  but  after  pressuring  &  pestering  ,  he  finally  agrees  to  bring  jonah  to  camp  .  minutes  down  the  road  ,  noah’s  car  hits  a  patch  of  black  ice  &  jonah  doesn’t  remember  anything  but  waking  up  with  a  healing  scar  &  notice  of  his  cousin’s  death  .

dionysus  claims  him  the  instant  they  meet  ,  admits  his  paternity  expecting  gratefulness  but  jonah  only  moves  into  his  cabin  by  throwing  his  things  .  over  the  next  few  years  he  grows  into  ...  a  gremlin  of  a  camper  .  deadly  behind  a  short  sword  ,  deadlier  behind  his  words  .  fights  with  camp  during  the  war  (  barely  ,  almost  spent  the  whole  thing  at  camp  instead  )  &  when  lyssa  admits  secession  from  camp  ,  almost  joins  her  -  but  chooses  to  stay  around  to  cause  as  much  havoc  as  he  can  before  leaving  .

I couldn't figure out how to comment in the doc for Twelve Points, but I wanted to know if the line "Wish you were here. Glad you aren't" was an intentional ref to Critical Role or just a coincidence? It works incredibly well, either way, but I was curious.

Oh, no! It's a coincidence, I've never watched Critical Role. A friend of mine did show me the first episode of Neverafter, and I enjoyed that although I struggled to keep track of everything that was going on (I'm going to watch a few more episodes and see if I "get better" at that -- I had a similar problem when I started reading comics in that I had a hard time uniting text and image, but with practice sometimes that kind of thing becomes easier).

But now that is very funny, the idea of Buck being either a) a fan of Critical Role or b) a secret tabletop gamer.

Also, I'm going to infringe on your goodwill a bit, an Anon sent an ask that I accidentally deleted (SORRY ANON) about the Shivadhverse being a universe where somehow Italy isn't on the Euro -- for some reason I decided in my head that Italy was dual-currency and the lira was still valid. It is entirely possible this was in part because having Jerry say "Thirty two million lira" was very funny. :D But yeah that's just a goof on my part.
