@ingravinoveritas Exactly! His heart never quiets I'm sure, burning with a love for this world they've created. Good Omens has given him just as much, if not more, to make him a bit dewy eyed today too.

@ineffablymischievousscamp Oh, absolutely. I really love that today, of all days, was what got Michael out of Twitter retirement, and that this in particular was something that meant enough to him to comment on it. Your last few words also made me remember Michael's tweet from 2019 where he talked about being dewy-eyed as he filmed his last scene as Aziraphale in GO season 1...

And I think what you've said is exactly right: That Michael's heart never quiets, that it always beats with so much love for Aziraphale and Good Omens and everything that the show and especially the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley means to him. That on some level, he never has stopped being Aziraphale, even long after filming has ended. (Which seems to fit perfectly with Michael saying on several occasions that he doesn't know where Aziraphale ends and he begins.)

A lot of us today are talking about what Good Omens has given us, but as you mentioned, what GO has given Michael is likely even beyond description. We've heard both him and David say that it's changed their lives, and whether in public or private, I think that both of them are acknowledging the depth of that today, to each other and to the world...

So what’s Argyros’ personality like?? And what’s her backstory, if you don’t mind sharing? I know I’m pretty late to this but man the design is SO cool and I’m invested

Here's a fresh Argy doodle to go with the answers!

The personality: They're carefree, highly social, sometimes a bit too direct, and quite flirty. She craves human (in a broad sense) connection and she's highly social. Which means Argy is absolutely thriving right now as they're just studying medicine at the moment.

They came with quite a lot of medical knowledge and studying is an attempt to try to know why did they even have that in their database and personality. It's almost a bit of an obsession: She feels the need to study every little bit that makes up flesh-based lifeforms, because she feels they're far too fragile. Argyros is caring to an uncomfortable degree at times, but it comes from their need to ensure everyone is in perfect condition.

They're more than happy to help heal a wound and maybe study you a bit on the way. And their skills as a healer are quite good, even if having a dozen eyes and a giant halo on you can be a bit overwhelming.

Despite his fairly open attitude, he speaks little of his concerns or worries, and does rarely share any detail about his more personal thoughts. There's definitely something wrong with them, but there's just one person they've talked about this. Despite how much Argyros love putting others back together, they keep themselves quite private.

The backstory: I can't really share all that much since it's spoilery for my fellow players (as she's gonna be a NPC in a Pathfinder 2e game), but she basically has not much of an idea about it herself. She was suddenly aware of existing one day, and had some memories and knowledge, but no exact idea of where were they made, and for. Trying to find a place to fit in was hard, and trying to search for answers was even harder: It seems there is something actively trying to not let them do so.

They're not entirely sure where does their divinity come from either. It's not unusual for people to be born with extraplanar influences, but Argyros was either created or infused with that divinity. But she doesn't know who or why, and isn't too willing to admit that they just have no clue. One of the main party members is gonna be a proper celestial, and I'm sure they'll be a bit of at odds about this!

hellooo i have thought about it 'cuz ive seen the idea floating around and sorry, i dont like it. 😭🙏 or rather, the idea of a villain shanks is fun in theory but if it's actually canon then i dont think it will pay off very well lol especially 'cuz he's the very first pirate we meet and it's been over twenty years. i would certainly be tilted.

idk how oda could write it in such a way that i wouldn't be mad aha, tho i'm sure if anyone could pull it off it'd be him. (and i mean villain!shanks as in "was always a villain", not "has to do antagonistic things but his heart is in the right place".)

i will say, however, that there is something delicious about possessive shanks, especially if it leans a little dark. like, he's a smiley pacifist right up until you harm someone that's his, and then it's game over for you and your friends and your livelihood. he's already like that in canon, but i mean like, it's to the point where his revenge gets a little cruel and he enjoys paying you back for the harm you caused.

i like attributing this to him 'cuz if he's dating mihawk, known serial murderer (of marines, if not also underwhelming challengers and entire crews of people that annoy him), then his "let's not kill people if we don't have to" thing could be more of an intellectual ethical choice for him rather than an emotional one. and once you've crossed that line for him by grievously harming or maybe even somehow killing mihawk, then it's over for you and you bet he'll enjoy it. (tho nine out of ten times i write him as a bleeding heart and mihawk is fond and exasperated by it haha.)

but yeah. i digress. 😅 it's a fun concept and i'll probably read the fic if it's mishanks and mihawk isn't his victim in a way that ends unhappily, but ultimately, the most i prefer is shanks with a dark streak.

if anyone's gotten to the end of this ask and adores twist villain shanks, feel free to try and convince me in the replies. maybe i'm just thinking about it the wrong way, and i'm open to ideas. ;P

You recently claimed "there are no stupid questions," so I'd like to know what nail polish/manicure you'd choose for Crowley, Aziraphale, and whoever else from the cast tickles your fancy. :) And does the choice vary if they walk into your salon and tell you it's for a ~date~? :D

Aziraphale canonically gets his nails done regularly, but I think he'd normally go in for a simple manicure without polish, maybe just a clear coat. He enjoys the experience and the practice of keeping his corporation neat and tidy, but doesn't feel the need for alteration.

That said, if he walks into my hypothetical salon and mentions he's going for a date, I think I could nudge him into something with a subtle bit of sparkle.

I doubt he'd actually go for Aria, but I'd suggest it to get a laugh and make the others seem reasonable. And hey, maybe someday!

He'd pick one of the subtle ones and giggle over being daring. And of course, Crowley would actually notice and be impressed by the change.

Crowley I see as a matte black creme for most days, but he's a multichrome guy when he's feeling fancy. Maaaybe some understated shimmer. I don't really feel sparkles for him, but threw a couple in to tempt him with.

He's briefly intrigued by Diablo, until he notices the name and gets annoyed at falling into a cliche. Maybe if there was something as dark as Annabelle but more red, he's got an aesthetic to maintain, after all.

If we want a touch of angst, for things they'd avoid: I think Aziraphale would have complicated feelings about applying earthly golds to his corporation in such a way. And Crowley would find magnetics that imitate space charming, but find them too lacking to enjoy wearing them himself. Which is a shame, because he could miracle them perfect without having to wait for the dang magnet.

Maggie I see as a person who enjoys the self-care ritual of painting her own nails. She would mostly do solid cremes or jellies, but once in a while she'd enjoy an afternoon playing around with stamping and other cutesy nail art.

(The entire Tea Crèmes collection is so her aesthetic. Stamps from Maniology, those photos are me and I can't currently remember all the colors, but the orange is Zyler The Cat.)

However, for a special occasion, I can see her branching out like Aziraphale and having fun with a jelly flakie or a shimmer.

About to fight that thread because AUs are already such a small number in the fanfic community so artists are truly a gift to supply us beautiful art. ESPECIALLY mermaid art because it is such a staple in nearly every fan base ever on the internet?? I hope writers and artists don’t take that to heart because they are so needed for a fandom to thrive

They may not like it when I say this but.... I really REALLY like the AU of If the DQ brothers are raised as Celestial Dragons. I even like Rosinante's hair in that au too 😊

it's sooo intriguing to think about an alternate timeline in which Doffy and his family never left the Holy Land!

I don't think there'd be much change with Doffy if he remained a Celestial Dragon...perhaps he'd be a tiny bit more unhinged than he already is (although it's hard to imagine he could get even more insane lol)

but I could imagine him growing bored since he already has anything he could ever wish for handed to him on a silver plate - the royal life is stale and he's someone who always has to move around, always be on the lookout for a challenge.

But the more interesting aspect would be Rosi!! Rosinante who was never raised by Marines and stayed a Noble alongside his brother - retained a sliver of his kind heart and gentle demeanour from his father, but has also full on turned into a monster just like any other Dragon. He's still somewhat shy and soft-spoken, but there's a dark edge to him nurtured by his upbringing among the entitled nobles.

it's an alternate reality in which he's not that different from Doffy, where he doesn't necessarily feel the need to be the balance to his depraved older brother (because he has been corrupted by the Dragon's way of life as well)

I loooove giving Rosi beautiful long blond curls, he lets it grow out like his father...and since in this timeline Doffy never felt the need to commit patricide, he "allows" Rosinante to have long hair (I imagine he'd seethe with rage in the canon timeline if Corazon ever decided to have longer hair since it reminds him too much of their dad)
