So apparently I have done this whole 'queue an ask game' thing more than once :-|

Send me an ask about whether I’ve written a thing [ship, trope, dynamic, category of fandom, etc.] and if I’ve written it, I’ll link you. If I haven’t written it, I’ll tell you how I would write it if I did.

This is absolutely hilarious to me, because first of all - you're making my revisit past sins. Thanks for that LOL. I obviously have never written a GW WH AU, nor will I ever do so. The source material is just like... so wildly different.

But I guess if I were gonna give Winterhawk giant mecha robots with which to fight for interspace colonial freedom, I'd have to give Bucky Heavyarms because like - guns. Just. So many fucking guns. That mecha never made a damn bit of sense guys, WHERE did he get the ammunition. Also it did have a mecha-sized army knife. So yeah, Heavyarms for Bucky.

(This was a tough choice though because the original pilot was an orphaned circus kid, so like. You see my difficulty here.)

Which obviously means that I have to figure something else out for Clint, and like, unfortunately none of the Gundams had a bow (at least, not in Gundam Wing). So. I've decided he gets to have Deathscythe, mainly because fighting with a giant energy beam scythe is like. The stupidest thing I have ever heard of, but also it looks so badass? And the original pilot put on a laughing, jokester personality that masked some seriously badass skills and also a terrible childhood, so that fits you know? Seemingly outdated weaponry that somehow manages to be extremely effective while play-acting as an idiot? Yeah. That's where we're at.

Okay, I have a couple of headcanon for ghosts, specifically Hetty and her painter suitor, and I needed to tell people who have seen the series and not from me telling them the lore for them to understand the HC.

• The painting we are shown is not the only painting there is of Hetty. I want that man to have gone on and become a famous painter, and most if not all of his famous pieces are of her. Like Sam and Jay, get some kind of ad or brochure mailed to them about a "special exhibit," and the cover of it is of their girl hetty!

• Her painting is to come out of the basement, and it has replaced Elise's painting since she did, in fact, build that house.

• When they hang the painting, there is a plaque explaining who Hetty is and how she built the house and all that jazz.

• I fully believe that hetty and her painter met because he was commissioned by her father to paint her portrait, and sparks flew once they met. (That would make such a great meet cute)

• He also let her in on the creative process of the painting and basically introduced her to the fact that she can make decisions for herself and is allowed a voice.

• They fully had secret meetings by the lake on the house property, and he would sketch her in the sunlight and all that romantic shit

• The painters name is Thomas, and Hetty ended up naming her son that bc she was allowed very few choices in her life and wanted to name her son after her first love and the man that let her make her own choices.

Would you talk some more about examples of Pete’s sexism? I binged watched the show pretty fast and I don’t remember seeing it, so I’m worried I might’ve missed some things and wanted to hear your perspective if you’re willing!

sorry i missed this! but yes omg, i love pete and one of the things i love most about his character is that a lot of his flaws are seen through rose colored glasses because he’s a nice guy which honestly i should talk more about sometime when it’s not 4 am.

but i’m speaking mainly about the plot pete shares with flower in 1x14 “Ghostwriter”. pete spends the entire episode blatantly dismissing flower’s interest and knowledge of basketball because it’s something for his “bros” (i’m paraphrasing the plot here) and barely acknowledges flower. it’s directly implied, not really implied it’s right there just not explicitly said as a piece of dialogue, it’s because pete actually carries some period typical sexism of his era based on flower and hetty’s conversation where hetty references staying quiet for the men in her life and they shouldn’t have to put up with it in this one, and also it is said by flower’s actress in an interview that if i remember i will reblog with.

i would say another thing that i count toward this is pete’s persistence with reminding alberta of his crush on her despite her very clearly stating that she is not interested many times, but i would like to make *that* a longer post.

1. Soldier Boy (Ben)

*snorts* I think I'm gonna have to go a bit cliché on this one. 😏

2. Beau Arlen

This one is also a little cliché, but I couldn't unsee it. 🤣 German shepherds are fiercely loyal and can be deadly on the outside, but are often mushy on the inside for the people they love. ❤️

3. Russell Shaw

Ooh I knew it had to be a predator for Russ. 😏 He seems all quirky and fun on the outside, but he's got a razor sharp edge underneath...

4. Jason Teague

Aww Jason! He is also a little (a lot) suss toward the end of S4, but honestly that's like a different Jason compared to his personality in the first half of the season. That being said, I feel like he's the kinda guy who (a lot like young 20s Dean) is all suave and fun on the outside, but has a sensitive, insecure, mushy center. 😂

Idk why but it's giving meerkat for me.

5. Mark Meachum

Oooh this one's mysterious since we don't know him yet, but we can assume it's another alpha law enforcement character, I'm thinking more serious than Beau, but still with a certain devil-may-care charm, a la Russell. So for me it's giving cat-like qualities, but still strong, like a leopard...

6. Alec McDowell (Bonus!)

Aww I couldn't leave Alec hanging! I love this little transgenic pre-Dean. 💜 He's sly and devil-may-care as well, but it hides a deep, well-hidden capability for loyalty and devastating love.

It's just that I have had a truly crippling amount of depression that I'm only just starting to navigate out of, so writing has been really difficult.

But messages like these are so wonderful and so motivating, and they really make me WANT to write more, so thank you so much! I really glad you love that series, it's my favorite one. Here's a tiny snippet from the next part:

When it was all said and done, Clint had downed ten unidentified agents, and the tiny girl-child he’d been protecting had crawled underneath the heavy wood desk with her crystal paperweight and her fear. 

“Hey,” Clint said, coming around the edge of the desk cautiously. Rumlow had called out the all-clear, and Natasha said she’s got the data they came for and Bishop besides, and Clint crouched low, pushing the leather office chair out of the way. “You’re safe, you wanna come out?”

Tommy hasn’t had a pack in years. His family was broken since he was a child, his unit mostly died when he was in the army, and the 118 was barely worth calling a pack. Harbor is close, but they’ve not taken on a pack dynamic. Several stations have moved away from those bonds and the 217 is one of them.

So he watches Evan and his happy, bonded pack with a sense of longing. He’s on the outskirts. He’s a friend, a welcome outsider. He’s a friend to everyone there and Evan’s boyfriend, but he won’t join the pack until Evan wants to claim him as his future mate.

So he watches and wishes and tries not to dream of something he doesn’t think he deserves.

Until Evan gets down on one knee, barely a year after they get together, and asks him to be his mate for life and his husband. Of course, Tommy says yes.

And then the next time they see Evan’s pack, Tommy’s folded into the mix too. Scented by the other members, welcomed as a pack member and cherished in a way he’d always heard omegas should be but never got to experience.

He’s not alone now. He’s pack. He’s Evan’s and Evan is his.

But he never stops looking. He leaves the 118, never meeting their new probie. He goes on medical leave, his pregnancy kept hushed and on a need to know by his request. He picks up a side job at a local comic store to keep the money coming. And he looks for blond curls everywhere he goes.

Donovan snapped back to the office he was sat in, on the opposite end of the couch from his wife. Dr. McCormick looked at him over the rims of her glasses. He got the sense she’d been trying to get his attention for a while.

“I’m sorry.” It was a sincere apology. He hadn’t meant to tune out. “What was that?”

“I asked if you had anything you wanted to say about what your wife shared?”

He knew Val had been talking. It was the same thing she was saying at home, and had said for the last three appointments. No apology, regret only for being caught, and continued defense over her actions.

He’d tried, at first, to listen. He’d tried to understand. He’d wanted to be an understanding husband, a partner that stayed through the tough times.

He looked at her and he felt nothing.

“Mr. Rocker?”

Bless this therapist. She’d really jumped into helping them with determination. Maybe, if there was something to reconcile, it would’ve worked.

Donovan and Valerie had been married for 12 years. Fresh out of college, wide eyed and optimistic. He loved her for a long time. Maybe she loved him too, once.
