Not me making deodorant this morning while thinking about possible applications in the HP The Ton AU. 👀

Stearic acid was discovered in 1823.

Cetyl alcohol was discovered in 1817.

Babassu oil has been around for a long time.

Deodorant as a commercial product has been around for just a hair less time than Albus Dumbledore (Mum, introduced in 1888).

#please don't use your own or prepared deodorants that contain baking soda #it may not cause a rash immediately #but it will eventually #it is painful and wretched because it's entirely the wrong pH for your skin #try something with zinc riconoleate or zinc oxide or a combo #magnesium hydroxide is okay too but it can be drying depending on the formula

#can I just. scream for a second #so as is news to no one #we need to start over the entire us medical system from scratch #also I would like to be flayed alive and start over from scratch in the skin department as well #anyway for context: I've had some kind of rash/acne/infection/irritation all over my legs for over a year now #have tried various products and changed habits and products to try and get rid of it to no avail #everyone said you should really just go to a dermatologist #(I was not that inclined to do so bc the previous and only time I'd seen a dermatologist it was not a good experience. very condescending #also I don't like making appointments and stuff. girl I don't have time)#but I decided to be an adult and go (my insurance info seemed to imply I could go with zero copay even)#spoilers: that was not the case #anyway so I show up and surprise surprise: it sucked #she was dismissive and condescending imo. was literally like 'well it could be A B or C but I can't tell'#'all of those are basically impossible to get rid of anyway but the things to try are X Y or Z'#I asked to try Z since X and Y are things that I already tried and did nothing (which I had told her!!!)#but she just kept being like 'you just need to stop picking at it. that's the real problem and that's what's exacerbating your scarring'#(wow thanks never thought of that!) (she also insinuated that my scarring was ugly)#girl I'm not 5 years old I understand.#unfortunately for me that is a compulsion so strong it would probably take years of directed therapy to get me to stop doing that #what I'm here to see you about is to figure out what the problem is and how to stop it from happening in the first place #and STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT A COSMETIC ISSUE #it's causing me pain and discomfort that's the main problem! I would like that to stop!! and me not touching it would not solve that proble #also I wanted to ask her about something else but they were too quick about it. felt very Handled if you know what I mean #but anyway #she gave me a prescription for topical antibiotic which was the thing I had not tried #apparently my insurance doesn't cover it and it's also made of gold and plutonium or something #so she gave me a coupon for it #but get this #when I went to pick it up at the pharmacy they didn't take the coupon #the guy said. 'um this only works for the generic brand. and we don't have the generic brand'

#I don't know why this popped into my brain today but here you go #despite all of the stories about the people with leprosy in the bible I sat thru in youth ministry #I still don't actually know what leprosy is #I know it's a skin condition but that's about it #anyways every thursday I go to therapy and resist falling deeper into my savior complex #Update: It's now called Hansen's Disease and it's very rare now #it's an airborne bacterial infection that causes inflammation and #rashes and stuff like that #it also affects the nervous system and can lead to permanent nerve damage #ex christian #religious trauma

staying home from school bc I was and most likely still am sick (I forgot if I was but I feel partially like shit)

#okay so uhm. Apparently #I had / have something called “hand foot and mouth syndrome” (or disease not fully sure)#It’s like. A virus that uh #Causes a fever #As well as a mouth sore or sores and rashes on your skin. More specifically your palms or bottoms of your feet #It hurts to walk tbh #And it feels like I burnt my tongue or smth #I also have the stupid little rashes and it reminds me of when I have an allergic reaction / strep or smth #I just got back from the doctor’s office soooo. Yeah.#also like why did they name it that #Couldn’t come up with a better name could they lmao #I’m relatively fine though.#Hands are just ichy #and I need to walk with like. Thick socks to help relief some of that pain walking #But other than that I’m good! No need to really worry too much.

there isn't a single dermatologist in the entire state that takes my insurance. and if we tried to just pay out of pocket for one, then i would completely lose my insurance, since, y'know, obviously i don't really need it if we could scrounge up enough money to pay for the one thing my insurance won't fucking pay for!!

#my legs have been covered with rashes for FOUR FUCKING MONTHS #i am currently trying the very last thing that my general doctor is able to give me for them #(and even this took a lot of convincing to get my insurance to actually fucking approve of it)#i want to tear all of the skin off my legs #and my left shoulder cause WHOOPS IT'S SPREAD UP THERE TOO!!!

never doubt the power of the OBX Gender Euphoria Hoodie of Swagness: it doesn't eliminate the sensory issues i've got from the tape on the electrodes but it sure does make me feel less like i want to tear every inch of skin off 10/10 can recommend.

#i put it on and like 8 of the 7 different issues i was having were eliminated immediately #shhh don't look at the numbers it's fine don't worry about it #i'm actively going through an Anxiety Event so bad it made me take a knee when we got home which is yknow unusual #and considering i'm hooked up to a heart monitor today i really kind of need to not be having abnormal heart events actually #i mean i can but like i'm not like... i want it to be indicative of my Usual Daily Activities and i'm just not very active most days #because of the horrors mostly #i'm just not sure if i need to mark every time i'm Super Aware of my heartbeat or not because i don't know if i'm just always too aware #and it's just doing Normal Heart Things or if i'm having a thing and going ''oh yeah that's a normal heart thing i'm sure of it''#because i don't know the difference! this is very fun (: (smiely face flown upside down to show distress)#if the tape didn't itch so fuckin' bad i would probably forget i was wearing the thing #but alas my own personal hell where my skin is So Sensitive To This One Thing In Particular and it's in all the most sensitive places #for the first time ever though someone actually gave me advice on how to fix it #which is to wash the residual stickies off and then put on anti-itch cream like!!!!#if it works i'm gonna be so ecstatic cause i fuckin' cannot stand that sometimes the bandaid rash is worse than the initial thing #that i put the bandaid on for #anywa stay salty obx hoodie of gender is the best hoodie and i am so glad i spent tourist money for it #well worth the expense for what i'm getting out of the experience

#welp. i now have a rash creeping across my face #it doesnt really itch but my face is not usually blotchy so reguardless of the actual cause i should probably stop #the lam1ctal. lest my skin start melting off or whatever #if it is a reaction to the medication that could explain y ive been sleeping so much and feeling so tired #i dont think i have a fever but i havent been feeling great #or it could b psychosomatic. its hard to keep me on medication bc of how my stupid brain works #god dammit im only on 50mg and ive been kept at 50 for like 3 weeks bc i started reacting to the tatto0 #ugh. curse the timing of the tatto0. its made everything complicated symptomology wise #unrelated
