hit me with your eczema advice. it's on my hands and it kills. I'm pretty sure it's eczema and not psoriasis but I'm not 100% certain it's one thing or another, it's just painful peeling that is either a surface allergy or responding to some other trigger idk. what is your advice for treating the symptoms. I'm going to ask for a dermatology referral. don't worry about what I've already tried, just pile on the advice, if something I'm already doing helps you I want to know

in all honestly kokichi probably would point it out at first, teasing you about it

if you have contact dermatitis he might 'accidentally' gift you something with whatever triggers it a few times

he would tease you about it, but if anybody else did he would call them out in a kinda condescending way. he's the asshole here what's this other dude doing.

when y'all do(somehow) get together, he lays off it. he's a lot more observant than he really lets on in general, so he'll know if he's going to far eventually

when he sees that you're genuinely upset, kokichi drops his playful facade. "You know, even if you kinda look like a lizard, I'd still think you're pretty great" which doesn't really help other than how shocking it is. maybe that's the point.

other than that he also tries to distract you by doing something outrageous. can't be upset with your body when you're too busy dealing with him

just me and my textured face against the world

silly personal project i’m doing. i’m going to draw myself often including the features of myself i don’t like. this includes insecurities such as my eczema cuts and scars as well as swollen eyes. each drawing i’ll make will represent how beautiful i feel at the time of making it aswell as the parts of myself i need to learn to love.

for this one i felt self conscious about my split lip and my scuffed nose. i felt really disgusting and crusty and couldn’t look at myself in the mirror. but once i drew this it took away some of the insecurities. made me feel a little tough. hell yeah i got a gash on my lip bet you don’t have one of them. thankfully it’s healed by now.

i highly recommend others to try this. it works a lot better than you’d think. message me for tips and tag me if you post it.

Tbh I'm wondering if the smoke has anything to do with the eczema flares everyone and their brother seems to be in-- I didn't look it up cuz I'll just get depressed about the fires but I'm still wondering lol

That never even occurred to me. The air is insanely dry rn (we're at Moderately Unhealthy rn after days of Code Red) and that's even with the HEPA filter we installed in our unit. I've only gone outside (with mask and safety glasses) to retrieve mail and I'm still having issues. @thetabirb doesn't have resp issues and hasn't gone outside during all of this but her eyes were insanely red last night. You might be on to something.

Anyone else with eczema or other skin inflammation that's flaring and you're in a smoke/smog zone?

does taping nitrile gloves on your wrists waterproof them enough for showering? every time i take a shower lately my hands get so bad (eczema or something)

losing my mind (not only has my eczema’s new hatred become anything more than a pinch of salt, the combination of that with either my sodium heavy dinner or wearing contacts for the first time since this salt-sensitivity nightmare means that i developed hives on my eyes on top of incredibly itchy skin on and around my lips)
