Wonderwoman spoke up "Aquaman is right, it is not his fault, it... It is the gods"

The crowd murmured in confusion

"Zeus and Poseidon have been having disputes, A powerful weapon was stolen and both sides are accusing each other, it is best to try and appease even a little of the gods anger, and pray they won't share their wrath with the humans" She finished

An uproar started

"You mean to tell us, lives were lost because of their arguing!?!"

"They're gods! Why can't they just talk amongst themselves?!"

A reporter raised his hand "Is there a place safe from their anger?"

"Well... Egypt is under the control of the Egyptian gods, but even, they are in conflict, Set is currently causing chaos, Boston and the land of the Vikings are protected by the Norse... Unfortunately- Loki has been freed from his prison and is also causing chaos" Wonderwoman sighed in stress

"But so far, no other Pantheons have been fighting, go to them, pray at them to protect you, just don't try to do anything that will anger the already angry gods as is, we might be the butt of their anger if we do"

With that the meeting ends, but not their fear though

i want to talk about the paradox prism for a minute because it's really interesting to me

[everything below is purely speculation / headcanon - please don't mistake it for canon. beware of spoilers for sonic prime part 3]

similar to the master/chaos emeralds, the paradox prism has a level a sentience. not anywhere close to the same level as the emeralds, but there's still something there

the chaos emeralds tend to set up a line of dominos to cause a future event (ex; sonic taking tails under his wing and learning to become more responsible from it)

the paradox prism doesn't do anything close to that, but it does share something with the master emerald; it holds memories

the prism was able to create more versions of the people it saw based on the emotions it saw them project (tails, knuckles, amy, rouge, and eggman)

the different shards / shatterspaces are made up from other major events. whether from this timeline or another is different for each shatterspace

new yoke was created from the group's frustration with sonic + an ending where eggman's almost won (i believe this could be pulled from the events of forces, considering the enforcers)

i think the reason new yoke is the only shatterspace to have a version of eggman is because it's the only one that makes sense to have one

it's pretty well known by now that eggman will need a helping hand if he wants any chance at taking over the world

the only thing better than an evil genius is five evil geniuses, right?

the new yoke group are, as i said, everyone's frustration

nine is frustrated with his past. reminiscing about his tormentors brings him more anger than pain, and living in solitude definitely does not help

rebel and knux are frustrated by the loss of their home (and the egg council in general). having watched their home be destroyed was more heartbreaking than anything at first, it eventually grew to an anger that spurred them on to fix it

rusty is frustrated with those who disobey/fight against the council, but her anger eventually ends up directed towards the council for the way they used her.

i could go more in depth about the new yoke group, but this post is gonna be long enough as is wefoefwof

the shard being red could simply be because that's the color that represents anger, but i'd like to think that-going back to forces-it was a bit influenced by the phantom ruby/infinite as well

no place is formed by the underlying sadness + a devastating event that permanently changed the world (chaos' rampage)

im not connecting no place to chaos because of the fact it's flooded, im connecting it because of the way the stories parallelled

chaos' rampage begun when pachacamac attempted to steal and harness the power of the chaos emeralds for his own gain

dread seeks out the 'devil's ligthouse' solely to prove he is a legend, nearly killing his original crew trying to do so

both protagonists of these stories are selfish and caused destruction for their own gain

dread's, well, dread comes from his failure of proving himself to be the most feared pirate to ever live.

him failing to collect the shard caused him to believe that he truly wasn't a good pirate, leaving him to spiral into a life of cowardice.

the rest of the pirates' dread comes from their longing to be actual pirates.

because of his failure and cowardice, dread now leads a peaceful crew. they don't do any 'pirating', which leaves much to be desired

they enjoy the parties and all, but their true fun comes from being pirates, which dread deprives them of

boscage maze comes from the protectiveness surging between everyone + a world where harmony between enemies is possible to achieve (possibly comes from a timeline where eggman simply doesnt exist, leaving mobius to grow peacefully)

boscage is the shatterspace with the most life. it's full of all kinds of plants because nobody there is destroying it (intentionally, anyways)

thorn rose is protective over birdie and the green. she does what she can to protect both, even if it means hurting people she once called friends

keeping the jungle and birdie safe is her #1 priority, and nothing will ever change that (that's not to say something else can't join them in being her priority)

the scavengers are protective over their belongings and, no matter how strangely they show it, each other

gnarly was nervous when sonic touched his house, immediately turning aggressive to make sure he wouldn't damage it

instead of hiding the berry, prim showed it to the others for a chance they could all share it

instead of running off on his own, mangey let the scavengers follow him as he sniffed out the berry (+ him fetching the one that fell off the treetops, showing it off to the group)

hangry allows mangey to crawl around him, which we can assume means it happens a lot off screen as well

they stick together and cover each other's backs, no matter how hard the fight gets

while we don't know what this shatterspace was before it turned into the grim, it's pretty safe to assume that it was apocalyptic

who or whatever used to live here is long gone. the only thing standing are the purple crystal things.

my guess is it's a timeline where eggman won. he won, and the world died out because he ruined the ecosystem from building so many machines.

while purple is usually associated with royalty or mystery, it's also associated with power, ambition, peace, and independence

whatever happened to the world before the grim, it's very probable that it was out of high ambition with a need for more power. eventually, the world found its peace and is now independent

ghost hill is the blueprint. the time before sonic & co. make their mark on the world. a blank canvas.

maybe a timeline where they don't get a chance to make their mark on the world

yellow is a very light, energetic color. the feeling of happiness at the chance to create something new and fun.

ghost hill and the grim don't have much in terms of characters and design, but i think the colors of their respective shards give us plenty of information about them

the paradox prism is nothing like the chaos emeralds, but is also just like them at the same time. it's powered by pure chaos with no sort of indication on how it was created or why it has the powers it does

i wonder if eggman knew what the prism was exactly or if he only knew that it was powerful

did he know breaking it would cause the world to shatter? did he know how may memories it holds? how many lifetimes it's lived?

i also wonder if the prism knew sonic would shatter it, and that it was already preparing the shatterspaces; hence why it glows brighter

maybe it understood that sonic is a hands-on learner. maybe it knew he needed to experience the lessons first hand, needed them to-quite literally-slap him in the face

maybe it knew they all had their own flaws that they needed to be aware of. maybe it lived through the timeline where sonic never shattered the prism.

maybe the prism planned to be shattered by someone so it could share its memories. maybe there was some sort of pull that told sonic it needed to be shattered.

sonic prime s3 rewrite:

im going to try to fix a bunch of things i was unsatisfied with from the end of the story.

such as the whole “work together” lesson that sonic learned somewhere in the last 6 episodes really vaguely. also im going to fix sonic and shadow’s vague friendship arc. i might also take a crack at fixing knuckles the dread’s conclusion bc he was the most interesting variant lets be honest and he was nearly forgotten. maybe in another post. this is future me talking i spent hours writing this.

im also going to make the “we’re back home” ending WAY longer and actually have there be an emotional resolution for the #notgay “brothers”

and the most egregious sin (imo) of season 3 was the fact that all the worlds just. stayed. and that was it. huh????????

THIS WILL BE LONG AND MIGHT BE ASS IN YOUR OPINION LOL ITS CHILL. IM NOT A SEASONED DAY 1 FAN WHOSE READ EVERY COMIC AND PLAYED EVERY GAME AND KNOWS THESE CHARACTERS BETTER THAN THE WRITERS OR ANYTHING IM JUST HAVING FUN AND SHARING WHAT I THINK WOULD HAVE MADE MORE SENSE

THE SHARDS:

ok first, we have to go back in time a little bit. i think each shard should have been the heart of its respective world instead of just the random place it happened to be sitting in. the shards create the world around them, and whoever holds the shard of a world basically controls reality for that world. the shards are always originally centered on the palm tree of their world (the chaos council found their tree and stole the shard, this is why the tree is so important to the resistance, they need to return it to restore balance. NO ONE IS MEANT TO WEILD THE SHARDS, IT ONLY BRINGS CHAOS. THIS IS A CENTRAL THEME.) when a shard is removed from its world, the world begins to slowly collapse on itself. the more shards are taken the more the WHOLE shatterverse starts to become unstable. THIS is why the shatterverse begins to decay, not just because there was “too many portals” or whatever.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: when the paradox prism is fully recreated and brought back to its place in ghost hill, green hill will be restored and the shatterverse will cease to exist. it was created by the shards being split, bringing them back together brings the world back together into one.

sonic does not realize this at first. he finds out the shards are in different worlds and starts trying to find them all to put them back together, saying he needs to recreate his world, not thinking about the logical consequence for the shatter spaces. nine hears this and thinks he could create his OWN world wherever he wants using the power of the prism. he is wrong. (find out why later)

SHADOW:

for the most part, shadow is in the right about everything. his only issue is that like sonic, he doesn’t want to work together. sonic is too impulsive, but shadow is too stubborn. they learn to overcome this together throughout the series. while shadow is stuck speaking to sonic from the void, they are constantly disagreeing on what to do. shadow is being too bossy and demanding that his plans be followed to the letter, and sonic is making split second changes and forgetting to tell him. this at some point nearly ends in a MASSIVE disaster and they both realize they need to get it together. wasting time fighting is part of what caused this mess in the first place- shadow is also slightly at fault here. we do a flashback to the day of the incident and they agree to try to cooperate. it’s a little rocky, but by the end they’re fighting side by side in perfect sync, recognizing each other as valued friends.

NINE:

nine for most of the series can stay the same. an important plot point for me is his insistence that he is NOT tails. however, instead of this being something sonic has to learn is true, it’s something nine has to learn is false. when nine goes to ghost hill and sees the old tails, he’s unnerved by this hollow shell of a version of himself. while he is alone putting the shards back together on the mountain, he realizes that just like the shards are unstable fragments of the paradox prism, the shatter spaces are unstable fragments of green hill. he is a fragment of tails. this sets off a minor identity crisis on top of the realization that he is not supposed to exist. none of the shatter spaces are supposed to exist. that’s why they’re all so out of wack. no place is flooded and ruled by pirates, the boscage maze is a suffocating jungle, new yoke is a dystopian nightmare, and the grim is a lifeless wasteland. they all exist in a fragile state of balance and are already falling apart. they were already on shaky ground but have been on a direct path to destruction since sonic showed up. he still has hope in his ability to make the grim into his own world, but deep down he’s refusing to let himself realize the truth: even with the power of all 5 prism shards the world will continue to decay until they are reunited. nine takes the shards and leaves.

SONIC:

dear god. sonic. where do i even begin.

first of all, i would prefer to see him being a little less chatty and scatterbrained. i think a little of it would still make sense considering the story he’s living through, but in general he needs to be a little more tethered to his old unshakable self until it comes to the really important decisive moments. sonic isn’t an emotionless character, but he just seemed extra…. smushy..? idk this isn’t something i can articulate well ehe XP

i LOVED the parallels and flashbacks from seasons 1 and 2. where did they go??? i go crazy for a good parallel, so i say they keep happening in season 3. obviously. like of all the times to mirror the beginning, it’s the final fight???

i want to have the final battle directly and clearly parallel the fight from episode 1. this way, there can be a Moment where sonic stops to look back at his experiences and make the choice to do things the right way this time. to fix the problem he created he needs to fix his personal problem that created the problem. i want a very obvious scene where he finally finished connecting all the dots lets this lesson sink into his head.

speaking of which, let’s get back to present time and talk about the final fight.

FINAL BATTLE:

nine has all 5 shards kept far apart and protected, but still close enough for him to draw on their power. the world is decaying rapidly and he has to constantly use the shards to ward off the imminent destruction.

sidenote: at some point when nine is trying to pick off sonic, he sends the birds to search the empty space in the shatterverse. one finds shadow’s chaos emerald in the void and brings it out. shadow gets it back from the bird or whatever later. it was so weird that the void stopped being relevant and they just never got the green emerald back.

heading into the final fight, sonic is sad about nine’s betrayal, but he only gives him one chance to give up. when he and shadow confront nine, sonic tells him that the shatterverse is falling apart and no one has a home left to return to anymore. nine hesitates for a moment, he knows there is a chance that even with his enemies gone he won’t be able to stop the decay, but he refuses to give up. sonic knows what is at stake here and he takes it seriously. he doesn’t want to fight nine but he has no choice, besides, nine is hurting his friends, and that’s not acceptable.

sonic still isn’t sure what to do about the moral dilemma of wiping out the shatterverse to bring back his world. after all, wouldn’t that make him no better than nine? but right now there is an immediate threat: nine accelerating the decay of the universe by holding all the shards in one shatter space.

during the final fight (which i would also make WAYYYYY shorter) i would have him try to go for nine himself, thinking that he knows nine best, and is the most well equipped to defeat him. everyone else is on shaky ground with each other as alliances between the different groups, especially with the eggmans, haven’t been solidified. because of this lack of teamwork everyone struggles to fight off the robots nine creates.

sonic stops. he’s seen this play out before, and the stakes weren’t nearly as high. he is the throughline of the whole group so HE has to bring everyone together (“theres only one hedgehog they’ll follow into battle”). He gets everyone to understand that right now they’re on the same page, so they all formulate a plan together to keep the robots away and get the shards back one by one. sonic and shadow fight nine in person while everyone else collects the shards and brings them each to sonic and shadow, who use the power of the shards to help defeat nine. but when they remove nine’s power source, the world starts decaying really fast again. nine panics, takes the shards back and starts trying to fight off the decay, but it’s too much to fight anymore. he falls to his knees in defeat, he knows his goals were always unreachable. at first he lashes out at sonic, but then he stops and just cries.

he tells sonic how he just wanted a place to call home, even though he knew it wouldn’t be possible. sonic says that maybe it’s still possible to restore the shards to their worlds and stop the decay, shadow interjects that they need to bring back green hill, but nine says there’s no point in trying to bring back the shatter spaces. they’re beyond repair, and they were never meant to be in the first place (the others hearing this are shocked and uneasy hearing this). he was wrong to try to destroy everyone’s worlds to make one just for himself, at least sonic was trying to bring back his friends. but sonic comforts him and reassures his feelings and also apologizes for asking him to stop existing. but nine says that’s actually what he needs to do now. the only option left is to restore green hill. they’ll pour all the energy stores they have left into the kraken to get sonic and shadow back to the decaying ghost hill.

sonic tries to object, asking if nine is sure he’s ok with disappearing. nine says he won’t really stop existing, he and all his friends were always with him and always will be back in green hill. nine thanks sonic for always being his friend. here is the big brother hug moment. nonetheless, they all say goodbye (for now), and shadow and sonic head out of the grim.

RESTORING GREEN HILL:

blah blah there’s some debris and maybe they *almost don’t make it* but in the end they just barely get to the gateway in time.

sidenote: instead of shadow needing to go through weird side cracks to get through the gates, he is able to because of the instability of the prism energy not keeping him out the way it did before

shadow is almost blocked at the gateway. he’s pushing through, but the world is falling apart. sonic grabs the shards from him and tosses them into ghost hill so he can pull shadow through. shadow exclaims something about the shards and sonic says he won’t leave him behind. shadow is touched <3 (they’re holding each other desperately this whole scene and when they fall through, this is me making up for cutting the princess carry im so sorry i had to).

they get to the mountain, return the shards, and a huge blast of energy knocks them back. sonic opens his eyes and cue the regular sequence from the final episode. i liked this bit, it was such a relief to see the world put back together lol. after they fight eggman, sonic brings everyone in for a big group hug like he tried to in new yoke and says he has to go find shadow.

sonic asks shadow if he still remembers everything, and he does. sonic breathes a sigh of relief and jokes that he was worried all that friendship building effort had gone to waste, shadow gives him a (very) small laugh. he tells sonic that he may have started this by being himself, but he also fixed it by being himself. sonic whizzes around him asking if that was a compliment, and shadow says it’s just good to be back home. sonic says “it wouldn’t be the same without you. it wouldn’t be the same without ME either” to which shadow rolls his eyes and tries to hide a smile. sonic uses shadow’s shoulder as an arm rest as the two look out at the sunset. sonic says they make a pretty good team when they fight WITH each other. there’s a pause before shadow responds, “yeah.”

the next day goes on like it did in the real episode except shadow is there, and when the gang remarks on sonic’s odd demeanor they also comment on his suddenly improved relationship with shadow. the show ends like it did before with sonic about to explain but interrupted by eggman. life is back to normal, happily ever after the end.

OK THATS IT!!!! i hope whatever few people had the endurance and determination to read all of this enjoyed it, ive been writing it out for hours omgggg i could never write fanfiction i would die LMAO. i had such a clear vision of what i thought this season was going to be that i figured it wouldn’t take too much effort for me to write it all out. like i said before it’s definitely not perfect and i refuse to re read this for errors for 24 hours but i hope you enjoyed ok bye :3

Paradox Prism and Shatterspaces: What they are and how they work (theory)

The Paradox Prism is one of the most powerful artifacts in the series. It also works as the glue keeping reality together. You could even argue that the Paradox Prism IS reality to an extent.

When the prism shatters, reality does too. Every shard of the prism creates its own miniature universe, or Shatterspace. Each Shatterspace resembles Green Hill, but its appearance and history are completely altered by the shard's presence:

Boscage Maze's shard caused unnatural growth on the world's plant life. No Place's shard caused endless storms that turned Green Hill into an ocean. New Yoke City's shard fell into the hands of the Chaos Council and was used to reshape the land in their image.

Only exception being The Grim, which is just a desolate wasteland This might be because it was born from a much smaller shard, not powerful enough to generate a complete Shatterspace.

Being created from a piece of the Paradox Prism, the Shatterspaces are a lot smaller than the Prime universe, comprised entirely of Green Hill and its inhabitants. This is why we only see variants of the same few people, it only affected those in the area of the explosion.

Ghost Hill is not a true Shatterspace, but rather what's left of the original Prime universe. Its inhabitants are just echoes of their former selves, as their "essence" is spread across the other spaces. The only thing keeping this world together is the prism shard, and once Nine removes it, the Shatterspace collapses.

Eventually Nine fixes the Paradox Prism using the five shards (plus the prism energy Sonic absorbed when breaking it) and it teleports back to the Prime universe, restoring the world back to what it was moments before reality was shattered.

But why are the other Shatterspaces restored? I believe that now the Paradox Prism not only contains the Prime universe, but all of the other Shatterspaces as well. Those worlds will continue to exist and remain stable as long as the prism stays intact.

Who was The Eleven?

Who was the Eleven?

The Eleven is the eleventh incarnation of a Time Lord known as the Multitude or the Collective, infamous for suffering from a rare and incurable condition called regenerative dissonance.

💥 The Multitude/Collective

Instead of each personality fading away upon regeneration as per usual with Time Lords, the consciousness of each of their past selves remained inside their head. Every regeneration added a new personality to this growing crowd, making them one of the most mentally chaotic Time Lords. Though referred to as the Multitude or Collective at times, most incarnations are individually known by their number.

🧠 The Personalities

Each incarnation of the Multitude had a distinct personality:

The One: Their first incarnation was a member of Gallifrey's High Council, serving as a respected but rigid official until he became fed up and changed to a life of crime.

The Two: After regenerating for the first time, the Two realised they had regenerative dissonance, and spent much of this incarnation trying to get some peace and quiet, sometimes at the expense of others.

The Three: One of the more violent personalities, the Three was bratty and very quick to suggest murder as a solution.

The Four: A very arrogant incarnation, always believing they were the smartest in any room.

The Five: The joker in the pack - a trickster and wisecracker who believed he could kill anyone and everyone.

The Six: By far the most violent, the Six was likely psychotic, with a love for murder and zero care for who or what was lost along the way.

The Seven: Rude and abrasive, this incarnation served as a scientific advisor for the Eleven's schemes, though lacked social tact.

The Eight: The exception to the chaos, able to suppress the other personalities through meditation. The Eight tried to act as a force of reason, but was eventually overwhelmed.

The Nine: A kleptomaniac, obsessed with stealing.

The Ten: Skilled in hypnotism, The Ten used manipulation and mind control.

The Eleven: The dominant personality that led the Multitude after escaping imprisonment on Gallifrey, known for their cunning and calculated chaos.

🛡️ The Twelve and The Union

After the Eleven was defeated, they regenerated into the Twelve, an older female incarnation who looked like your grandmother. Unlike the chaotic Eleven, the Twelve was more controlled, stabilising her regenerative dissonance using a neural implant to suppress the voices of her previous selves. This stability, however, didn't last forever.

In her final form, she became the Union. The Union claimed to have rid herself of the previous voices once and for all, using a deadly weapon to extract degeneration energy from other Time Lords to stabilise her own mind. This caused her previous personalities to suppress and merge, making her greedy, arrogant, insane, and intelligent, yet looked like a sweet little old lady.

We don't know what happened to the Union in the end, but for now we assume they were killed in the Time War.

The Multitude is one of the most unique and dangerous Time Lords. Despite briefly finding some vague form of stability in later incarnations, the Multitude is a pretty terrifying reminder of the unpredictability of regeneration.

Nine Finds Sonic Boom

Nine discovers a web of multiverses beyond the shatter space. What if that lead him to Sonic Boom?

Nine has been in search of a new home. Somewhere safer, somewhere more kind to him. He is content with settling for a universe in the shatter space, but when he discovers a beyond, he can’t help himself! Nine chooses a portal and goes through it, being warped to a sandy beach. He gets out of his shuttle and sticks his feet in the sand for the very first time.

Nine kicks up some sand, mystified by it. Then he turns around and sees the ocean and the bright blue sky. Sonic wasn’t kidding! There is a blue sky somewhere! Nine zones out staring into the ocean.. this is truly incredible! He never knew there could be so much water in one place. He notices the buildings behind him and hopes whoever is there doesn’t mind him chilling out here for a bit.

Nine sits in the sand, picking some up and dropping it. He decides to start piling some up cause why not?

“Tails??”

Nine turns around and to his shock, he sees Sonic! But taller, looking a bit tired, and has a bandana. Sonic approaches Nine looking just as shocked as he feels “how did you get here so fast? I JUST left you at meh burger. Did you find some way to beat my speed and not tell me?? Low blow, dude.” Sonic crosses his arms, then notices somethings off about Tails. He starts looking him up and down. Nine backs up “I’m… why do you keep calling me TAILS? You got a problem?” Nine raises his 7 other tails to threaten Sonic, who’s eyes widen and he backs away.

“Oh! Ah.. sorry? You just look a lot like someone I know. A LOT.” Sonic scratches behind his head a little embarrassed. Nine lowers his defences “I could say the same about you.. except the guy you remind me of would have already ran a hundred circles around me, and this.. weird. Place. He can’t sit still to save his life.”

“He sounds pretty cool! What’s his name?”

“Sonic.”

Pause. What? Sonic looks puzzled “but.. that’s. My name..?” Now they’re both confused. Out of all the places Nine has visited, he’s never seen another Sonic.

“Why is the multiverse lacking in Sonics..?” Nine mumbles to himself, trying to think.

Suddenly they hear someone approaching. “Sonic, did you find the-“ it’s Tails himself. The two foxes stare at each other for a moment before Tails rushes over “wow!! You’re me!! This is so neat!” Tails is immediately observing Nine, circling around him. Nine shrinks back “I guess I am.. you? Sorry. Just. Give me a moment to think here.” Tails stops. Then looks at the shuttle. Then back at Nine. Then back at the shuttle. He has so many questions.

Sonic leads Nine over to a beach chair “here, sit down. Collect your bearings.” Sonic sits on another chair, and Tails sits right next to him.

Nine looks back at the ocean “I’ve never seen.. anything like this before.. a large capacity of water and a blue sky. I.. I thought Sonic was pulling my leg.” He says sadly. Sonic pauses to think about what to say. Tails goes right into “what.. universe did you come from?” Tails can’t imagine a world without blue skies.

Nine looks back at Tails “back home, the sky is some shade of red. Polluted with factories and smog.. it’s been like that for as long as I can remember.. The Chaos Council took anything colourful that was said to have existed.” “The Chaos Council?” Sonic asks”

“The Chaos Council. They’re a group of 5 dictators that rule over the world with an iron fist.” Nine says. The other two are bewildered “where have I been this entire time?” Sonic asks, a bit disappointed with his other self. Nine shrugs “I don’t know. I met him when he somehow found my lab. He started calling me Tails and talking about blue skies, palm trees, Mr. Doctor Eggman, him and I being friends and beating up Mr. Doctor Eggman.. and even about saving me from bullies. The only part that I remember.. is being bullied. But he wasn’t there. I went through so many beatings just for having an extra tail..”

Tails notes all this down in his head. Sonic lowers his head “thats.. wow. You’ve been through it, kid.”

Tails asks “is your Sonic from another universe?” Nine nods “from all the evidence I’ve collected thus far, yes. And he somehow can’t get back. He looked very stressed out when he met me and the rebellion soldiers and we didn’t even know him. Yet.. he’s still facing everyone with so much optimism it makes me want to slap him sometimes.” Tails laughs and Sonic looks shook.

“AHEM.” The group turn to look at the entrance path to the beach from the village. There stands an unamused Amy, an annoyed Sticks, and Knuckles who’s just happy to be involved. Amy walks right over to Sonic and Tails and glares at them “you left to find my tip wallet, and you never came back! I told you exactly where it was, how hard is it to-“ she spots Nine who’s staring at her in.. so much confusion. Nine’s tails raise in defence. Amy gasps “oh hello! Tails I thought you weren’t gonna mess with the multiverse again.” “I’m not!” Tails stands up “Amy, Sticks, Knuckles, this is other me from some dystopian universe.”

Sticks gives Nine an ‘I’m watching you.’ Look. Knuckles goes and crouches next to Nine “hello other Tails! Aww, you’re so cu-“ Knuckles reaches to pat Nine on the head, but is interrupted by one of Nines mechanical tails slapping his hand away. Knuckles holds his wrist in pain. Nine growls “do that again, and you lose your hand.”

Stick pulls Knuckles back “see! This is what technology does to people! It turns them into crazy whack-a-doos! This is the future people! Wake up!” she yells. Nine looks at Tails who gives him a sympathetic look.

Amy leaves to go make Nine some tea. The others (excluding Sonic) help Nine build enough confidence to approach the ocean. Sticks runs into the ocean. Knuckles smiles gently at Nine. Nine has never seen Knuckles smile ever. Tails says “try touching it!” Tails crouches down and sticks his hand in the water. Sticks pops up from under the water with some seaweed on her head “its not gonna hurt ya. As long as you know how to swim, and don’t drink it.” Nine cautiously dips his hand into the water. It’s cold! He takes off his shoes and socks to wade into the water like everyone else. His tails are water-proof so they don’t have to worry about that.

A splash fight begins! It continues until Amy comes back with the tea. Everyone rushes out to enjoy it. Nine learns that he really likes peppermint tea! Amy gives him some tea bags to take with him on his travels.

Nine tells his story. The others are incredibly saddened to hear that Nine is from a careless dangerous world lead by such terrible people. Sticks also goes on a rant about the dangers of technology.

As Nine is explaining the Chaos Council members, Knuckles interrupts him “they sound a lot like if Eggman just separated into 5 different people.” Sonic groans “one is enough! Who decided that 5 Eggheads would be a good idea?” Nine shrugs “one of them is a literal baby.” “Hah, what??” Sonic snickers “yep. A small very angry tyrannical baby.” Sonic bursts out laughing “I think that council literally is Eggman in 5 people!”

Sticks asks something that’s been bothering her “if you’re not called Tails, what IS your name?”

“Nine.” Nine says

Sonic says without thinking “why, cause you’re like, nine?”

There’s a brief moment of silence before Nine is lunging at Sonic. Knuckles has to hold him back. Sonic has to say sorry a bunch of times while the others scold him for inappropriate timing.

Nine cools down and raises his tails “no. It’s because I have nine tails.” There’s mutters of “oh yea I get it” across the group.

Suddenly, laughing in the distance. Eggman pulls up in his eggmobile alongside some badniks. Nine is glad that the shard is hidden inside his shuttle.

The others get into battle positions.

“What is it, Egghead??” Sonic demands, upset that he would interrupt a visit like this.

Eggman laughs “oh I just feel like I haven’t been thrashing you enough lately! It’s been too long, Sonic!”

“ITS BEEN A DAY!”

“Potato potahto. Robots A-.. wait is that another Tails?”

Eggman takes a second to stare at Nine who looks like he’s ready to take his head off. Amy nudges Nine to get his attention “Eggman is hardly a threat. Just kick enough robot butt and he’ll retreat.” Amy is incredibly lucky that Nine listened, because the moment there’s robots around, he’s tearing them to pieces. When he sees Tails just hitting the robots with kicks or a wrench, he decides that this just won’t do.

Time to pull a Sonic!

Nine gets to Tails in the air “hey, you know how to spin dash??”

“No, that’s Sonics thing!”

“Steal his thing!”

Nine scruffs Tails “SPIN!” and chucks him into battle. Tails is now ping ponging robots around in a spin dash. Sonic has a look of pride yet a ‘HEY HE STOLE MY THING!’ Look.

The battle is over in record time before Eggman retreats, grumbling about a stupid fox with his stupid spider legs.

Nine decides it’s his time to go. He does let Tails investigate the shuttle juuust a little bit. Not a lot. Ok maybe he just let him look at it. But still.

Maybe Nine will come back one day. Who knows!

This isn’t home. This is other hims home. Where he’s happy and gets to live in peace.

Nine thinks about how close Tails and Sonic were.. his Sonic is probably missing his friends like crazy.

Is it cruel though to still want to stay with him? The only friend he’s ever had?

I'll see your Dadphiles AU and raise you "Sonic Prime but Dadphiles". No idea if/how that would work, but it lodged itself into the back of my head and won't leave. Also, when I stumbled across this AU it made me think of "The Monster Underneath Your Bed" by Madame Macabre. If you haven't listened to it, go to YouTube and do it right now.

My joking answer is that Mephiles would put Sonic in time-out for fracturing time and space while he cleaned it all up (Sonic would pout in the corner.)

As for my serious answer… We only have one of creator’s words that Prime is canonical to the games, despite the actual show kind of not reflecting that at all. Since Dadphiles is mainly Games-Canon, I’m gonna Err on the side of caution and say that Prime just doesn’t exist in this AU

However, if it did, I’d place it sometime between Sonic 06 and Sonic Forces. Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and Tails would all be living together, with Silver’s place in the family dynamic still fairly fresh. Shadow wouldn’t have fought Sonic and delayed his arrived at the Paradox Prism, plus Silver and Shadow would likely be able enough to stop their brother before he could shatter the Prism.

However, for the sake of this Thought-Experiment, let’s say they didn’t. Shadow would still Chaos Control while everyone else would be Shattered, this time including Silver. New Yolk!Silver would probably be a mysterious anti-hero—not wanting to work with the Resistance since they’d “slow him down” but still fighting against the Council—while Boscage!Silver would be right there alongside Thorn Rose in protecting the jungle. No Place!Silver… I think it’d be interesting if he’d either being a rival to Dread (as the only one able to see through his BS) or the shy, selectively-mute older brother of Sails who talks enough for both of them and somehow always seems to know what No Place!Silver is “saying”. Maybe even a bit of both.

The rest of Prime would probably go mostly the same, with Shadow being more cooperative and forgiving toward Sonic. Shadow is concerned toward how attached Sonic has gotten to these counterparts of their brothers, particularly Nine. Shadow tries protesting lightly, only for Sonic to break.

“How would you know what Tails is like? Maybe you just didn’t love him enough to get to know him!”

This causes a bit of a rift, with both hedgehogs wrapped up in their own guilt but believing the other won’t forgive them if they said anything. Shadow pushes his suspicions of Nine down while Sonic avoids his brother, unsure how to apologize but also terrified of accidentally hurting Shadow further. The end result of the show would largely remain the same, with Nine betraying them, trying to create his own world, getting defeated, and everything going back to normal with only Shadow and Sonic remembering what happened.

As this all would happened prior to Forces, Solaris would still be shattered and therefore too weak and scattered to actually do anything about this all.

TLDR:

Joke Answer is Sonic would be sent into time-out by Mephiles. True answer is that Prime doesn’t happen in Dadphiles because Sonic wouldn’t be late to the fight and Silver could just stop him with his powers.

Sonic, Tails, Nine and Poor Communication Skills.

Nine might have claimed that he and Tails are nothing alike but they are similar in how they attempt to explain problems to Sonic and how Sonic interprets them.

Prior to the Prism breaking, Tails had realized that Eggman wasn’t in his machine and quickly told Sonic that it was a trap. However Tails never explained WHY it was a trap.

Eggman insulted Tails, which led to Sonic doing exactly what Eggman wanted him to do. Something that I find interesting is that the insults “Ugly and Mutant” are insults that likely would’ve made Nine fall for Eggman’s trick if he had been there. The Amplifier increased Sonic’s power, causing The Earth to Shake.

Tails got mad at Sonic for falling for the Trick since in his mind, Sonic should have seen through the trick because he was told that it was a Trap. Tails doesn’t know that Eggman insulted him nor does he realize that Sonic fell for it because he had no way of knowing that Eggman wasn’t in the Eggcrusher.

But Tails decided to let his anger go since he knows Sonic didn’t mean any harm.

Sonic didn’t understand what Tails was upset about because He doesn’t see what he did wrong. Sonic also didn’t realize that the “Trap” Tails mentioned was that Eggman wanted him to attack the machine and shake the ground. However Sonic did know Tails was upset with something that he did so he told Tails that he didn’t mean to upset him and that he acted on impulse.

Sonic shrugged Eggman’s absence off as Cowardice while Tails was trying to figure out Eggman’s plan.

Throughout Season 2, Sonic was hoping that Nine would help fix Green Hill while Nine was Hoping that Sonic could be convinced to live in the Grim with him.

Sonic appears to be grieving his prime friends. (You know the stages. Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Finally Acceptance. ) Sonic has been projecting His Prime Friends onto Their Alternate Selves. Which caused him to sometimes speak as though he’s with his Prime Friends instead of their alternate selves.

Nine wants to live in The Grim because until Sonic came around, he never met anyone willing to be kind to him. As a little kid, he was bullied for having 2 Tails instead of 1 and The Chaos Council is made of crazy dictators. He dislikes New Yoke City as the majority of the citizens there has either bullied him, terrorized him or just ignored him.

As more time passed, Nine realized that Sonic was projecting Tails onto him and he began wondering whether or not Sonic truly liked him. Sonic meant well but his dialogue unfortunately wasn’t helping his case.

Sonic introduced Nine as “Tails Nine” which annoyed Nine as not only does he hate to be reminded that he has 2 tails, it also isn’t even a accurate description. Given that the Counterparts often have similar names to the Prime characters, it’s logical to assume Nine’s real name is Miles Prower, which means he should be referred to as Miles “Nine” Prower when not using just Nine.

Sonic referred to Green Hill as “Our Home” even though as Nine points out, it was never his home.

Sonic referred to Tails as “The Real Tails” which caused Nine to believe that Sonic thinks he is just a copy of Tails.

Sonic admitted that he was hoping Nine would behave like how he believes Tails would in the exact same sentence that he referred to Tails as the real one in.

Edit. Sonic never once mentioned that he believes Ghost Hill is Green Hill to Nine or that he was hoping to Fix Ghost Hill until Ghost of a Chance.

At some point, Nine began having suspicions that he will cease to exist if Tails is saved. However Nine doesn’t explain his suspicions to Sonic. Instead, the closest was him asking Sonic what he thought would happen to him if he got his friends back.

Sonic answered that he was hoping Nine would become friends with The Prime Characters. Nine became Furious and scolded Sonic for not considering consequences and proceeded to take the Shards for himself.

Something I occasionally think about when it comes to my AUs with a New Yoke Sonic variant (Tragic Mythos and the one where Chaos/Metal Sonic was really a mostly roboticized Sonic) and others like it is that Nine actually has incentive to take down the Chaos Council.

In canon the reason he doesn't help take them down is cause "what did that city ever do to help me?" and while the Chaos Council did contribute to it, that didn't mean nobody could've tried to stand up for him. (Or at least I assume that last part is his line of logic) But in cases like my AUs where the Chaos Council enslaves the Sonic variant how do you think Nine would feel upon knowing he could've- no, SHOULD'VE- had a person like Sonic in his life but didn't because the Chaos Council took them away before they could meet? Something tells me he'd be pretty pissed upon realizing that...

Its kind of ironic how in the trailer, Sonic says all hope of saving Green Hill is gone when the thing that’s causing it is exactly what he was planning to do. (Fixing the prism.)Later, he says that they can still stabilize the shatterspaces and trailer only mentions saving the Shatterverse.

So I wonder if Sonic began suspecting/realizing that the Shatterverse might vanish to reform the originals.

Green Hills can't be saved anymore?! Because Ghost Hill is being destroyed?!

What about New Yoke and the Boscage Maze and No Place?? WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER VARIANTS AND PEOPLE IN THOSE WORLDS?!

I think Nine's meddling to recreating Grim how he wants it first targetted Ghost Hill, the last remaining part of Green Hill. But Ghost Hill is non-existent by the time Sonic and Shadow barely escape that destruction.

So if one of the Shatterverses was wiped out, what's happening to the others? We didn't even see the Chaos Council, they were in Ghost Hill and only Sonic and Shadow had managed to escape Ghost Hill (barely). What happened to those tyrants? Is it that nobody is at the Grim because their worlds are practically being erased? Also, Shadow was able to enter The Grim, which we still don't know why or how. Is it because the essence of Ghost Hill -The only Shatterverse he could enter - was repurposed into The Grim?

Or he didn't completely realize that but rather saw any chance of bringing his original world back becoming non existence as he had been associating it with Ghost Hill. And Ghost Hill was destroyed. But things aren't breaking apart because the prism was fixed. They are breaking apart because Nine is using the now fixed prism to recreate his own world and without the shard in their respective worlds and now in a different place and pulling all paradox energy from said shatterspaces, it's destroying everything. The Shatterverses are vanishing not to reform the originals but rather to recreate one ideal world.

What's making me go crazy is the line about any chance of saving Green Hill being gone. I mean OUCH!

4th December 1745: saw Charles Edward Stuart Jacobite army reach Derby.

Many believe that the Jacobite that this could have been a pivotal ,moment doting the ‘45

It was a long march under the leadership of Charles Edward Stuart - also known as 'The Young Pretender' or Bonnie Prince Charlie. The journey was part of their bid to reach London and overthrow the incumbent monarchy of George II.

Altrincham a small town south of Manchester, and not too far north of Derby was about as far south as the Jacobites ever reached in their campaign. They eventually turned back. It is arguably the greatest ‘what if’ in Scottish history

If you can find a copy, the best account of the ’45 is by David Daiches in his magisterial Charles Edward Stuart: The Life and Times of Bonnie Prince published in 1973.

On 3rd December 1745 word reached Derby that a nine or ten thousand strong Jacobite army was about to arrive.e newly formed Derbyshire Blues, under the command of the Duke of Devonshire, decided to retreat fifty miles to Retford and left Derby to its fate.

True enough the following day the Jacobite army entered Derby, having marched south from Carlisle on 18th November. The entry of the army into the town was carefully planned to give the impression that Charles did indeed have 9,000 men, though the true number was a lot less. At eleven o’clock in the morning the vanguard, consisting of some thirty horse entered the town and ordered quarters for nine thousand men. In the afternoon the life-guards and some of the principal officers on horseback arrived and this was followed by the main body through the course of the evening; entering in detached parties to make the army appear as numerous as possible. The capital was said to be in panic and the Bank of England in chaos as neither Cumberland's or Wades armies were well placed to tackle the Jacobite army.

The next day, 5th December, the Jacobites called a council meeting in Exeter House to decide the best way to proceed. They were now only 125 miles from London, just six days march and while Charles wanted to continue south and take on London many were against this decision. With the two government armies behind them and a third army defending London some Jacobites were worried they didn’t have enough support. They had not gathered many men on their route south and the long-promised French help had failed to materialise.

Lord George Murray argued that during their march south they had seen more enemies for their cause than friends and he feared being penned in on three sides. He argued that even if the Jacobite army defeated the Government armies on the day, they would undoubtedly lose men and be unfit to face a second battle. If they were defeated so far from home then the reality was they would be captured and likely sentenced to death. The Prince was forced to admit he had no promise of support from English Jacobites and no idea when or if the French would invade.

No matter what side you suppoert, I think it is a disgrace that we do not have a statue in Scotland of the Prince, and likewise there are very few to another of the Stewart monarchs Mary Queen of Scots.

So I just binged Sonic Prime Season 2, and OH MY GOD I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT

SPOILERS AHEAD: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

if you already watched or don't care about spoilers, rambling is under the cut.

Okay, EP1, the episode where Sonic finally meets up with Shadow was a big step forward compared to Season 1, and it puts my beloved edgy hedgy in a sympathetic light. Yeah, the two fight, but for a damn good reason; given Sonic's the one who fucked things up big time, Shadow doesn't trust that Sonic wouldn't make things worse. Not helping matters is that both were stubborn about Nine, as Shadow doesn't trust him as well, while Sonic does, under the impression that, since Nine is a counterpart of Tails, he'd be as trustworthy as the original, to which Shadow calls BS as the Shatterverse counterparts are their own people and "not (Sonic's) real friends." (we'll come back to this later) Eventually, the two agree that, in order to fix this shattered world, they have to work together, and what a way to set up the second season.

The rest of the episodes before EP5 was a bit of filler, as they follow the formula of "Sonic goes to Shatterspace to retrieve Paradox Shard and fails to the Chaos Council,' but Rusty and Black Rose's friendship was just heartwarming, I loved seeing the otherwise robotic Rusty actually develop and bounce off of Black Rose.

Dread turning his crew against Sonic just so he could have the Shard was a twist that I saw coming, but him abandoning his crew was one that I did not expect.

Seeing Nine help Sonic however he can while being stuck with the Chaos Council was adorable, and sets up the heartbreak for the finale alongside the little debate Sonic and Shad had in EP1.

EP6 gave us Chaos Sonic. MY LOVE, HE IS AMAZING! Snarky robot, LCD face, can kick Sonic's ass any day of the week? Why was he killed in the episode he debuted in? I need more Chaos Sonic.

Finally, the reason I wanted to make a post about this: the finale, EP8. My heart is crying right now. If the rest of Sonic Prime hadn't made it official yet, this is the episode where Sonic's inability to think ahead is cast into the spotlight. Nine is the only one who could repair the Paradox Prism, but he and Sonic have different goals: Nine wanted to start a new life in The Grim with Sonic, who only wants his old world back. However, Nine saw something that Sonic didn't notice until it had to be spelled out for him; if everything is fixed, the Shatterspaces vanish from existence. That includes Nine, too. Not only that, but as the series went on, it became clear that when Sonic said that Nine and the others are real, he completely missed the point of Shadow's statement about how they're not his "real friends," and Nine saw that the little blue bastard didn't see him as his own person; he just saw Nine as an angstier version of his friend and nothing more. This is what causes a beautiful forming friendship between the two to shatter, and for Nine to betray Sonic, and I can't blame either one.

All I have to say is: GIVE ME SEASON 3 DAMMIT

There's only one Detective Ghost out there. And you're lookin' at her!"

"Alright, people, let's do this one last time. My name is Sonic Maurice Hedgehog. I was transformed by one of Robotnik's machines, and for the last seven years, I thought I was the one and only hero of Mobius. What a day, huh? I'm pretty sure you know the rest.

I saved Mobius, fell in love with Sal, saved Mobius some more, maybe too much, beat the heck out of Exegod and Corrupt, and blah blah blah, saved Mobius again... and again... and again. Fast forward! One of Robuttnik's robots flew at my face and broke my back, my relationships got testy, made some dicey money choices - Don't invest in a Sonic-themed restaurant, by the way. - then, like, 2 more years passed, yada yada yada.

A freaking drone flew at my face, I hurt my back again, entities that want to kill this stupid lemon idiot came around, I buried Uncle Chuck, who passed from old age, I realized I'm reaching adulthood, Sally and I... split up. But I handled it like a champion! (cut to him crying in a shower) 'Cause you know what? No matter how many times I get hit, I always keep on moving without regrets. I also got a lot of time to reflect and work on myself.

Did you know that seahorses mate for life? Could you imagine a seahorse seeing another seahorse and making it work? She wanted a family and kids, and for us both to rule over Mobius... and it scared me. I'm pretty sure I broke her heart. [...] Flash forward, I'm doing my part, doing ab crunches, getting "strong"... when this weird thing happened.

I gotta say, weird things happen to me a lot, given I live in a crossover multiverse and stuff, but this one was especially weird. [...] You see, I was still in Mobius, but... a lot of things were different. I was this... embodiment of hope the island looked up to. Also, I was dead... and young. It felt... nostalgic. It was like going back in time! I got a feeling that, whatever brought me here, it must've been the thing that got him killed.

Wanna know what happened next? [...] Yeah, me too."

"*sigh* Alright, then. Let's get it out of the way, one last time, if you will. My name is Nine. In my youth, I engineered seven mechanical tails to defend myself with, and for a couple of years at this point, I've been looking out for myself in this hellscape known only as New Yolk. Kinda sure a few of you will know the rest. [...] I met Sonic, beelined with a Paradox Prism shard, discovered the Grim, and even helped Sonic keep those shards out of the greedy hands of the Chaos Council.

That said, the more recent endeavours are ones I'm not proud of. Turns out, holding a whole Prism in your hands to terraform a Shatterspace is the worst idea I could think of, and it almost killed everyone around me. I... got what I deserved in those days...

[...] After Sonic and Shadow left for good, I ditched my mechanical namesakes and just... gave up. Left the Grim behind, and spent a long time in my workshop just passing the days.

Thankfully, it wasn't all doom and gloom for me. A young rabbit girl, whose name was... Crème Brûlée, I think? She often came down to check up on me, and always let me know how the city was recovering after we sent the Chaos Council's sorry butts into the Shatterverse's depths.

And then one day, something pretty crazy happened. I know I've seen crazy things before, but the fact an entirely different Sonic wound up here confirmed my theory that there were MANY worlds beyond the Shatterverse. [...]

It also had me thinking; with all the times life has knocked me down, even when I've been thrown curveballs, is it really an easy feat to just get back up again? Well, with what's coming next and a chance to look into the further multiverse, not really much point in pondering so much."

"Alright, people. Let's start from the beginning one last time. My name is Mina Mongoose. I gained super-speed in my own fashion, and for a couple of years, I've been the leading star hero of my universe. You guys know the rest. I led a band, saved my buddies... I couldn't save my best friends, Sonic and Tails, so now I save everyone else. And I barely do friends anymore, just to keep distractions to a minimum.

And one day, this weird thing happened. And I mean, like, really weird. When I was leaving my dimension with another Sonic, I ended up getting blown into last week by something. Literally! I landed in Central City, which wasn't my Station Square. [...] My instincts told me to head to Bumper High School, and well, the rest is history with that one! I didn't know why I needed to until I met you."

"Okay, let's do it one last time, and cut to the chase. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog! Well, arguably smaller than one would expect, of course, but I'm still the hero of my land. Pretty sure you know the rest by now. Freed my animal friends from robots, and fought my Robotnik a couple of dozen times by that point.

In my universe, it's constantly 1992 tops, and I'm pretty quick to leap into action! I like to chow on chilli dogs, and I like fighting robots. A lot. [...] Well, I mean, I have fallen victim to getting knocked out every 10 minutes or so at West Side Island, even when I've already gotten past an area.

Okay, so something weird happened earlier today. How I got here? It's a long story. (cut to a shot of Mini Sonic flying out a portal and being bounced around Balloon Park) Er, okay, maybe not that long, then. But yeah, no matter how many times I get knocked about, I can definitely keep moving each time!"

"Okay, then. Let's do this one last time. My name's Alice, and I'm a survivor of the twisted crystalline demon known only as Xenophanes. I don't know if you know the rest, so I'll sum it up for you; I used to work under him, but eventually defected and left for a quiet, isolated life away. I never told my family where I was, but at least it spared them the heartache when he and his new assistant, Caffrin, claimed me and took me into his world, sealing me in a vessel akin to Amy Rose.

But I was soon tired of being a punching bag to them, and so I decided to act. I patched myself up and fought valiantly, but lost. And I lost again. And again and again, and again. However, things changed when Veronica, Caffrin's big sister, wound up in that world solely by choice. And together, we actually made a difference. Caff defected in the end and helped us kill Xeno, but... it cost her her life in the end.

I stayed behind to pick up the pieces that the monster left behind, even after the other souls moved on. It got me dabbling in tech maintenance, and I eventually was able to integrate some of the leftover dark matter into "Sonic 3 - Zone 6: Round 3", or "E4-R6:3", for short. It essentially gave me a psychic link with that modified Big Arms mech, saving me some effort in pulling levers and pushing buttons.

Just today, something weird happened. Yes, the same weird thing that everyone else here ended up in, so it's not really a long story. Good thing I was piloting E4 at the time, so I didn't suffer any injuries on my way here. I was able to figure where I needed to get to from there, and the rest is history."

More than One Universe

"Alright, let’s back it up from here. My name is Anthony Miller the Hedgehog, or just "Antho", for short, and for the past year or so, I and a group of friends have become the new heroes of my Mobius. But it wasn’t always like that you see.

You see, I was just your average normal nerdy hedgehog until something with a super collider changed my appearance and gave me some knowledge of a multiverse or something. Oh, and I’m pretty sure there was a T-Rex-. Oh no, wait! That was added to the script to make it more dramatic.

Anyways, aside from that. It was also the day we lost our Sonic… and I saw it with my own eyes… thanks to that monster, Mammoth Mogul. Ever since then, the Dark Ages happened, and I was never the same again. But not until I stood up and took vengeance against Mogul himself and since then, I’ve restored the faith of Mobius, met new friends and allies, some of which I can now consider family, and am now living in our beloved hero’s legacy.

But despite that, it's still kinda hard work, and I sometimes feel like I can’t live up to Sonic’s standards and how he was the saviour of us all. But deep down, I know he's proud of me, and having my friends, family and the main cast by my side has helped.

I can’t be the next Sonic, even if some otherworldly hedgehog says otherwise. But this is my world and my rules. And I’m doing my own thing, whether you like it or not."

"Well, you probably know the drill by this point, so let's do it one last time. Or... is it the SECOND last time? Eh, never mind. My name is Christopher Smith, and for a couple of years, I've been the one and only... Nitro the Hedgehog. I doubt you know the rest, so I'll sum it up; I fled from my old home into Mobius, helped in the war against Eggman, and even saved the multiverse from possible destruction at the hands of Toxinfect. [...]

That said, with all the times I've been knocked down, I haven't always been able to keep on moving. In an older timeline I came from, I suffered from long-term depression that I hid from everyone. At least, until a mini "Smol" version of myself revealed it, by which point I got some much-needed therapy. [...] But of course, there have been positives. I saved a newer friend from the clutches of a corrupt corporate boss, met amazing friends across the multiverse, and even got girlfriends out of my Amy and Mina. [...]

Just today, of course, something weird happened. A portal opened under my feet, and I had to go to the hospital for a bit after some creatures gnawed at my legs. We waited a little bit, and then we saw that portal open into OMT!Tails's house. Wanna see what comes next now? Same! But before we do..."

CU!Sonic: Heh, knew you'd get the drill, mini-blue! So anyway, I'm Sonic, and this is my little daughter, Sonia. For a while, I've been the hero of my world. Pretty sure you know the rest! I got together with Amy, we had Sonia, and I've continued saving the world countless times. We did get into some tough love at times, but we always sorted it out!

CU!Sonia: Ah, erm... You gonna mention what happened with... mom?

CU!Sonic: Oh, er... I'm... not really sure if I can muster up the courage myself...

CU!Sonia: Come to think of it, I don't really remember what happened, but... she's no longer with us. Ever since, dad's been raising me on his own.

CU!Sonic: Right. Sonia's really the only family I have left, so while looking after her (and a mix of her keeping me right, of course), I've also been helping keep my home safe from criminal organisations trying to take advantage of things. [...] One day, however, something weird happened.

CU!Sonia: We saw a portal just open up in front of us during our walk, and we met other friends on the other side!

CU!Sonic: Sure you wanna know what happens next as much as me, so let's cut it here.

"Well, let's get this out of the way once more, and I doubt it'll be the last time. So my name's Mighty the Armadillo. As you can see, I'm not red, but purple. I've been generally going my own route in life, but I'm pretty sure you know the basic gist of it; I've helped defend the world from Maria Robotnik, who IS still living in my universe, before you ask, spent plenty of time with my little bro, Ray, and aspired to do things off-the-script.

Of course, you know about those "EXE" things or whatever you call 'em, right? Well, there's a few of them that take my shape instead of that of Claws, for whatever reason. Shows how inconsistent my whole multiverse is, huh? So, fast-forward a bit, I met a sweet kid named Hefty, he fell in love with my version of Honey... Kinda similar to how EV had it on his end. But even with the script loose and literally no sense of "canon", I always find a way to keep on moving, no matter what tries to knock me down. Even with that... MightMurderer entity.

Trust me, I felt that cosmic tremor as much as anybody else did, and me and my crew felt it warranted some investigation. Claws and Tails picked to hang behind just in case anything broke into our universe, while me, Ray, Honey and Hefty came here to figure out just what was going on. Guess we found the answer quicker than I expected, huh?"

More than One Universe Intro

"Well, you know the drill. Let's get this explained, one last time. I'm Amy, Amy Rose! I'm sure you know a lot about me; my love for Sonic, my enjoyment in tarot card reading, and my Piko-Piko Hammer packs a punch against Eggman's tricks. Though, one day, things went pretty crazy for me.

I was dragged into the kingdom of Camelot by a spell Merlina cast, and I gained these amazing amulets that allow me to control water. Using them, I was able to calm the Knights of the Round Table and halt King Arthur in his tracks. However, the sword Merlina was with, Caliburn, revolted immediately after, citing that all mistakes are to be vanquished from the "perfect world" he envisioned. It took us both to stop him, and I showed that everybody is flawed, but mistakes make us who we are in the end.

After that, I was allowed to use the amulets outside of Camelot, and Merlina kept the gateway between those worlds open so I can visit anytime I want! I also started crushing on Honey a lot more, hehe. Well, as for how I got here, I felt the big tremor shaking the area and knew it warranted me to check it out. When I came through that portal, that's when I came across a version of Sonic who looked like he was on drugs, and... yeah!"

Into the Sonic-verse Expanded Explanation

"You know, I've found things pretty easy going to begin with! I even got a daily routine going. I wake up, skip workouts since I'm already naturally strong and I don't want to get any muscles, you know? I don't need to do anything with my wondrous hair...

OMT!Tails: You don't use any product on it?

BK!Amy: I only really need strawberry shampoo and a dash of coconut oil to keep it fresh, hehe!

So anyway, I also read my tarot cards daily to plan out my luck, fight some of Eggy's goons, bring fruit for the local Chao Garden in Station Square... The usual stuff! And I even have a quick break for a cup of chai with Yasmine and Samia in Shamar!

OMT!Tails: Chai tea, huh?

BK!Amy: Tails! "Chai" means "tea"! It's like you're saying "tea tea"! Would I ask you for a "coffee coffee" with a side of "cream cream"? O-Oh! Sorry, heh. Got a little carried away there.

Well, I've started hanging out more with Honey as well. She's a really amazing fashion designer, and she's quite strong to boot! And while helping out Sonic, I also help keep good old Camelot safe from harm! Quick tour for you guys; Misty Lake, Camelot Castle, the Deep Woods, Titanic Plain, the Crystal Caves and Molten Mine, Faraway Avalon, Knight's Passage, Shrouded Forest, Great Megalith, the Cauldron, and the Dragon's Lair! Phew, that sure was a lot, huh?"

"Okay, then. I'm getting this off my chest one last time. I'm a bootleg, yes, but I still got my own super-speed on the table! And for a while, I've been the one and only... Hog the Tenrec! Pretty sure you know the rest; met some cool buddies, defeated ol' Dr. Yolkman dozens of times, and showed my rival Fists who's boss.

Well, that was until... HE struck. I lost control of my body, and this hedgehog who accused me and my friends of "replacing" his world laid torment upon my home, until I broke free. Needless to say, I was furious and itchin' to get back at him. Though, it all came at the cost of my world. I shouldn't've survived that, but I got warped out to CrossRealm Sonic's world before I perished.

It took me some time to recover, but I'm still ready to help protect a world no matter what. Because, no matter how many times I'm knocked down, for the sake of my fallen friends, I'll keep on movin'! I got here with Sonic after we felt that soft tremor and some portals popped up at one spot. So, yeah! That pretty much sums it up for me."

"Well, let's do this one last time! I'm Wacky the Erizo, a bootleg just like Hog, and I got my own world to boot. I'm kinda sure you know the rest; I saved my world from Dr. Sunnyside, fell in love with Starburst, saved the land a few more times, blah blah blah. You know how it is. I also got sucked into a new land, and met this creepy broken being that called itself "Bizarro".

They tried to possess me, but as long as I kept my eyes shut, they couldn't take full control of me. I really didn't like them. But other than that, you really expect me to take things seriously all the time? I barely take anything seriously. I still remain curious about that big screen in my world's sky, though. Why is someone new always appearing on it...?

Though, I felt that tremor as much as I imagine anyone else did, and it happened to knock Bizarro right out of me. They faded away soon after. After that, while I was glad I was still in full control for good, I knew something needed to be done about whatever the heck happened.

So, Zanie provided me a way between worlds, using that same tech Dr. Sunnyside used to knock us into next week, quite literally in this case. I've seen crazy things, but nothing could be crazier than trying to get a black and red ghost under control just now."

I overcame depression from fans' harsh criticism on my games, beat Phantom Ruby cases THREE times, fell in love with Nova, and saved my world and surrounding universe countless times. Same here as it was in the old timeline. "Old timeline?", I hear you ask?

Well, in that old timeline, I stepped down and passed on the mantle of protecting Mobius to Nitro, who I trained quite well. Though, I lost a close friend there, and we had to put up with a heartless company replacing people with clones of themselves.

Then a whole bright light consumed everything and the entire universe underwent a full-blown reset, if you will. Brian's all safe and sound, the Puhoi Curse is now non-existent, Clover's been enjoying life on the surface again with Frisk and Chara and the other ex-fallen humans, and ol' Eggy's been split between his old self and Mr. Tinker. To be honest, I like Tinker a lot more.

EV!Eggman (in the background): I HEARD THAT! ...Wait, what did you say about timelines?

EV!Sonic: Eh, just ignore him.

So anyway, sometime after Eggman Prime got all these supervillains together in one place to try and kill my original self, Sonic Prime, I met Tekno the Canary with my friends, and the two of us started our elite strike force dedicated to protecting the multiverse. It started with eight of us, and by this point, it's pretty much in the hundreds! And better still, I'm still available to actively keep my world safe from harm.

Me and Nitro already knew what was coming when those portals showed up, and that brings us to this point. Wanna know how it continues? Me too!"

"Alright, then. Let's do this one last time. This time, I mean it! My name is Miles Prower. One day, my twin tail became my blessing, Sonic saved me from some bullies, and for the last 33 years, I've been the one and only... Tails! Of my universe, of course. And things have been pretty awesome since I strung out on my own a year and 9 months ago. Catching all sorts of bad guys...

I refurbished my nanomachine suit, with a metal sheen to blend in with robots. Kaede and her siblings moved over to Emerald Town, Dr. Robotnik got graduated as a professor at Balloon Park University, I guest-hosted Speed-Three, endorsed in motion sickness prevention classes, developing a new twist on my electric hand thing...

How much longer can I keep things under a steady hold? I mean, would every world get it if I shared my stories? Eh, maybe in another timeline. Sometimes, I just wish me and Detective Ghost weren't the only ones doing this gig. But I haven't been dwelling too much on it. (cut to him doing child-like sketches of the Blur Gang, a LOT of which are of Mina)

I do miss Sonic and Sally a lot, though. Even with everything that went down with them, I try to do what Sally told me... "Enjoy the future for her". But at the end of the day, I am the hero of Mobius. And nobody can take that away from me!"

Boyfriend! I'm pretty sure you know the rest. I sang with some people, fell in love with Grace Dearest, fought off the Corruption, befriended the other Dearests... you know the drill! And, uh... I did this. (footage of "Really Happy") Yeah, we don't really talk about this.

Of course, one day, a year after my musical career kickstarted, the gateway to our wider universe opened. One minute, I remember being 17 with Grace, then the next, us and our siblings got younger. I remember me being 13 as part of some "age-halt" last I checked. Though it got me more involved in action and helped me achieve new feats, like becoming the hero I know my world needs and deserves.

And through it all, even with the bumps in the road, I've really enjoyed my career as a fellow successor to my big sister, and being the "Boyfriend" as a whole! And to me, being a kind and selfless soul is what I feel should encapsulate any Boyfriend out there. Music is something that's all around us, everywhere in the whole world. And if we share it with each other in harmony, it really brings us all together.

I may not be the exact same Boyfriend my world intended on, but if anyone needs my help, I'll be ready to do my job! And if you expect me to abide by supposed fate? Nah. I'll be doing things my way, whether you like it or not. In my eyes, anyone can wield the microphone if they wish to, and I'm sure as heck not the only one out there by far. I'm the hero of my own story, and nothing can take that from me!"

The runts of the litter around my planet like calling me "Evil Sonic". "Anti-Sonic". Pft! Can't imagine why. With my speed, and a leg up on the royal ladder, I took over my entire planet! Took down any pretty punk who dared disobeying me, and made anarchy my one way or the highway!

And to think, through all that... I was still a nobody! A cheap knock-off of the real Sonics across time and space! A dull flash in a pan of big blue wimps. I needed a change, and a total... royal... makeover! [...] A quick trip to my blue alternate's goody-goody dimension, a magic power boost and a little setback later... Ooh, yeah! I was a frickin' beast!

And when the Sonic connected to me tried steppin' up to my plate? Super Scourge showed 'im a thing or two! ...Didn't last very long, though. Got me thrown into f*ckin' multiverse prison! But with my gang of crooks bustin' me out and lickin' the Zone Cops off my tail, we were stakin' on BIG plans for the Sonic of my line and his pigs! The key word almost being, er... "were".

This alternate Eggman once hired me to trash this Sonic Prime fella, though that didn't work out as we hoped. But when this creepy Doc Finitevus guy proposed a plan for us to conquer the whole multiverse without an Eggman? Hell yeah I was on-board! Look out, however many Sonics plan to come for us, and get ready to hail to the king, baby!"

That's when I'm not running around Mystic Island, keeping forced winter at bay, chasing off my Robotnik, chilling out in the sunshine, practicing music with Mina or having a laugh at Gust Planet's bar. I'm no role model, but I was briefly a runway model.

I dislike political fronts, I hate slimy companies, and I'm especially not into labels. I don't call myself a hero despite the good deeds I do, because the absolute jerks in society who claim they're in the right are self-mythologizing narcissistic fools!"

This was more of writing practice than anything (and I felt bad for not giving yall stuff for a long time)

Sonic

By the time I registered the fact that missiles were headed toward me, it was too late. I closed my eyes, waiting for the explosion that would surely launch me far away from my current position.

But it never came.

I opened my eyes and saw Shadow carrying me. I heard him say the words "Probably gonna regret that," over my shoulder. 

"Aw, I heart you too, Shadow," I replied.

While it was really just a teasing joke thrown his way, there was a bit more... depth to the phrase too. 

We got back to the fight.

Shadow

I was fighting the "child-like" member of the Chaos Council when my guard fell and he grabbed me. I felt the robot's crushing grip more and more each second. I couldn't move. He pointed something I can only think to be a missile launcher at my face, preparing to shoot me dead. 

In that instant, I heard Sonic call out to me. I turned my head and saw him running toward the robot and me. In a split second, he was here, attacking the robot. I fell to the floor.

I wanted to get up and help, but I was incredibly tired. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched Sonic's battle with the two Chaos Council members. He was moving much faster than he normally does, I noted.

I sorta forgot how the episode ended or what happened after these scenes, so forgive me-- Just think of this as an alternate ending. (although it wouldve been that anyway)

After Nine left Sonic by himself, Shadow walked over to provide some comfort. After all, depression gets in the way of efficiency, so he wanted to do away with that problem. At least, that's what he told himself. He knew deep down that he didn't like seeing Sonic sad. The sight of Sonic being hurt sent pangs piercing through his heart, and he didn't know why. But he knew the cause of it. 

Sonic's sadness.

"..."

He wasn't good at comforting others. Hell, he usually made them feel worse. 

So he decided to distract Sonic from Nine's betrayal.

"...Thanks for saving me earlier." Shadow noticed the rotation of Sonic's ears in his direction.

"You're... thanking me...?" 

Shadow understood the confusion, at least partially. He wasn't one to thank others. At most, he would dismiss it, or reply with anger instead. Still, it sort of hurt to think that Sonic wasn't capable of thinking Shadow had the decency to thank people once in a while.

"What else would 'Thanks for saving me earlier' mean?" 

Sonic chuckled, with a bit of nervousness lining his reply. "N-Nothing, it's just unlike you, Shadow."

"I still have the decency to appreciate actions too, you know." 

"Since when did I say you couldn't?" 

Shadow was slightly taken aback by Sonic's response, but managed to regain his composure enough to give a response of his own.

"Hm. You didn't." 

"Exactly, Shads." Sonic teased. "Stop assuming things about me and how I feel about you."

"Shads? Since when have I ever been called Shads?"

"Since now, obviously, you goofball!" Sonic stuck his tongue out easily. 

Shadow chuckled, "Of course."

A moment of uninterrupted silence unfolded, as the two hedgehogs sat together. Until it was then interrupted.

Sonic looked at Shadow. "Since we're on the topic of thanking people..."

Shadow's ears perked up just a bit.

"Thanks for the save earlier, when the missiles were headed for me."

"Well, I couldn't just let you die, now could I?"

Sonic laughed a bit at that. Shadow noted how joyful his laugh sounded, full of happiness and with a charming ring to it. 

"Well, yeah, but you could've also continued fighting and finished off Dr. Deep. I probably would've survived anyway." Sonic added under his breath, "Although maybe not in fighting condition..."

Another moment of silence hung between them.

"I don't like it when you're hurt."

Sonic looked mildly surprised at Shadow's statement, but he managed to reply with a tease anyway.

"Ah, so do our fights not count?" 

Shadow smirked back.

"I should've said 'I don't like it when someone that isn't me hurts you.' " 

Sonic laughed again, this time much more than before. Shadow let out a few laughs of his own.

"I like spending time with you, Shadow."

"Me too, Sonic."

Aight so if i remember correctly, Shadow actually isn't fighting Dr Deep when he saves Sonic, he's hiding from the Chaos Council (they think he died). But this is a fanfiction so I do whatever I want. Hell, I could've made Obama appear out of nowhere and recite the vaporeon copypasta (although I'd never live it down if I wrote that)
