I can’t believe I’ve never seen anyone mention that Fords college counselor told him multiple times, point blank, to ‘seek therapy’ OH MY GOSH. This man 😭😭 his issues have issues and keep ignoring the help that the people around him try to give him bc he believes he needs to do stuff on his own. The foreshadowing is wild. Stanley, the college counselor, and Fiddleford, all of them trying to reach this man and tell him it’s okay to ask for help.

I hope he and Stanley both got the therapy they needed post-Weirdmaggedon. Or at least talked through their issues like function (semi functional) people

MacCready being one of the few companions to not lose affinity if you eat people makes sense when you remember the fungus in Little Lamp Light grew from decomposing bodies. Like the kids weren’t eating people directly but they were eating people adjacent things.

Not to mention how the Lone Wanderer can trick the kids at LLL into buying “strange meat” to eat which is just human so it’s more likely than not they have just straight up ate people so he’s either very desensitized, knows what food desperation can do to people or feels he really has not ground to stand on since he was in the same boat whether he wanted to be or not.

Wanted to include a link to @kit-foley ‘s post here about Josiah Crowley and how Nancy Drew games have and always will be political whether people want them to be or not.

@papenniesandbentoboxes also made a really good point about this on Instagram a few days back as well. Rae mentions the books, and why the games were created, including the different games with political issues in them.

Rae mentions SSH, but I just want to re-iterate how important that game is. I grew up in an extremely Christian, conservative, homeschooled household. I didn’t really meet people different from me. I grew up believing a lot of ignorant things. I didn’t play SSH fully until my teens, but I had played part of it at my cousin’s house when I was really young, maybe like 7 or 8, maybe even before that. I remember being worried, because Alejandro seemed too extreme to me, and was “spreading lies” about the US. I knew if my parents knew about it, they’d say something like “you shouldn’t be playing that game” and then I’d get it taken away, and if my parents thought something was bad, I should think it was bad too. And also, I thought I was suppose to agree with Nancy.

Later on when I actually played the game, I’d been exposed to more things and agreed with Alejandro, and was annoyed at how dumb they made Nancy sound. But later I realized that was on purpose; Nancy is wrong on purpose, she has an arc in that game and it’s purposefully trying to teach young players- players like me. Despite me initially not being receptive to the messaging, I think it stuck with me, and same for the other games.

Despite not always doing everything correctly, HeR always tried. They always tried to give you different perspectives and I am so so grateful to them for that, and I think I truly do owe a lot of who I am to Nancy and the games.

Anyways this got longer than expected and I always have more thoughts haha but if you guys have any specific moments/plots in the games that really resonated with you or taught you something as a kid I’d love to hear them!!!!!

can’t stop thinking about this idea that popped into my head the other week where you’re in a (very healthy, happy, and loving) relationship with yoongi, and one night after having a few drinks y’all start talking about your kinks and he admits he’s often fantasized about getting to watch you get fucked by someone else.

and honestly, you’re very intrigued by the idea (aka lowkey salivating at the thought) so you jokingly say you’d be down, not wanting to fully commit to it in case yoongi is just being drunk and silly.

and you’re finding it really difficult to outright say no to your boyfriend, especially when he looks so excited at the idea of it, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t find his friend attractive…so would it really be the worst thing if just once you agreed to let your doting boyfriend’s hot younger friend fuck your brains out while he sat back and watched it all happen???

I cannot stop thinking about the idea that the Sherlock and co podcast is in fact the story told the way it was in the original books, and that unlike in bbc Sherlock or most other adaptations we are once again only hearing what jonk Watson wants us to hear.

Although we know John doesn’t like to edit much out, there’s evidence that he sometimes does cut stuff and I’m sure if Sherlock would ask him to change something he would !!!
