concept that wight is still technically the wisperer but her powers are so distorted, like a black hole, it's basically fucking everything up. she's like. toxic to anything spirit related. and she may or may not be eroding away the very cycle of the wisperer by existing.
mallard conway and the trickster: you're meant to be the wisperer you should be niceys instead of destroying the spirit world because otherwise you're going to hurt a lot of people. also if u dont stop there wont be a wisperer ever again.
william wight: oh no i didnt mean to :((
mallard & trickster: so u are going to relinquish your powers so that there can be a next wisperer who will fix all of this?
wight: i said i didnt mean to, not that i was sorry *severely injures mallard conway and locks away the trickster again*
#📚 my posts#📌 thoughts#jrwi wight as bonez#wight is a catalyst for many bad bad things to happen#helped destroy the villain base. fucked up vyncent sol. freed ashe who would go on to nearly destroy the barrier between the two realms.#is growing more powerful and destroying the spirit world in the process.#im not sure if ill settle on this idea in particular but it certainly would be interesting

Favorite animals?
Oh, can't believe I missed this one. The characters are off duty so I'll just answer for them.
Catalyst loves cats, despite the fact their hair goes everywhere and Grey and Foxglove had to lint-roll their suits every time they interacted with a cat.
Foxglove prefers an insect that's less shed-happy, aka pet tarantula.
Grey really likes dogs, as they're full of energy and they distract him from the bad thoughts.
Sol would have went into Entomology if they didn't get sucked into the agency, and they think insects are cool.
And Nightingale, likes fish. Their first pet was a goldfish.

I love how this show portrayed how no act of kindness goes to waste. Im Sol had no real reason to show friendship to the random high-school dropout guy she had a crush on when she was 19. But she did. She convinced him to abandon his rackety lifestyle, dressed his wounds, urged him to consider a parent’s point of view which in turn acted as catalyst for the mending of his relationship with his father, encouraged him to graduate, and praised him wholeheartedly when he did so. All of which (the scolds and the compliments) added up to him finding his purpose and making a good life for himself.
Her sincere and unceasing kindness towards Kim Tae Song in all the timelines gained her not only a friend for life, but the said friend turned out to be the one who ultimately reversed her ill fortune. Saving not only her but the man she loves as well. Thereby securing them a happy future together.
#Im Sol#my beloved#her friendship truly brought out the best in him#and he's sincerely happy for her and sun jae#sun jae didn't warn him out of their life either and instead earnestly thanked him... my heart...#lovely runner#kim tae song#kim hye yoon#song geon hee#선재 업고 튀어

Like I do genuinely think they maybe should have replaced Radahn’s appearance with Godwyn’s instead? I know his soul has been slain, but I just like the idea that even the kindly Miquella is still on this naïve journey to become a god and bring back his dead brother to become his lord who honestly wouldn’t really be the same and would probably just be a husk of Death incarnate itself, but he wouldn’t care because he’s still grieving for him.
With that being said, the whole Metyr lore was super good, the whole reveal that the two fingers actually don’t really know what’s going on and they’re kinda just pulling shit out of their ass just adds a whole layer to the tragedy of the game, like all of these events were really for nothing and it just makes the Frenzy Flame ending and Ranni’s ending more understandable
ehhhh I absolutely see where the “it should’ve been Godwyn” mindset comes from and I agree with a lot of the arguments to an extent, but I’m not sure bringing back Godwyn’s soul entirely works for me?
I think Miquella’s attempts to return Godwyn’s soul were always going to fail, because his soul was completely and permanently destroyed by Destined Death. The ending to Gurranq/Maliketh’s quest is basically that things can never be the same again, so I don’t think there’s really a way to bring back Godwyn’s soul without it feeling like a contrivance? I really like the fact that he’s a character who can’t ever be brought back; his death was the catalyst for everything, a point of no return. Godwyn not being able to come back gives Ranni’s actions a special weight, that she was willing to permanently destroy his soul if it meant being free from the Two Fingers.
But with that being said, I absolutely see the sense in saying that Godwyn should’ve been Miquella’s lord. What’s strange to me is that Godwyn was set up in the base game to be a beloved older brother figure to Miquella — there’s the statue of him with Miquella and Malenia at the Haligtree, there’s the Golden Epitaph with Miquella’s prayer that he might die a true death, and there’s the spirit at Castle Sol, implying it was Miquella’s intention to return Godwyn’s soul through the eclipse. And now the DLC says that Miquella always looked up to Radahn as an older brother, when this relationship was never even hinted at in the base game, so it ends up feeling out of nowhere. If Radahn was always the one Miquella envisioned as his consort, then why is Godwyn the only brother he’s ever shown to have had a significant relationship with?
And, it’s also true that Godwyn ending the war against the dragons with diplomacy and bringing about peace really embodies what Miquella would consider admirable, since his quest in the DLC is in part to heal the hurts caused by Marika’s war of vengeance long ago. Radahn, on the other hand, is known for idealizing Godfrey, who helped Marika enact her wars of conquest, and for loving conflict so much that he literally fought the stars themselves. Miquella was said to have admired Radahn for his strength and kindness, but there aren’t really any instances showing Radahn being renowned for his kindness, except for his love for his horse? (the loyalty of his soldiers doesn’t count. Rykard had die-hard soldiers too and we know what he’s like)
On the other hand, I feel like Radahn as Miquella’s consort works thematically as a concept because Miquella’s journey in the Shadow Lands mirror’s Marika’s own ascent to godhood, and Radahn is like Godfrey’s spiritual heir. I’m also compelled by the idea of Miquella idealizing a young Radahn for his strength and kindness, only for Radahn to become corrupt during the Shattering, warring for the sake of war… which is why Miquella brings back specifically the young version of Radahn whom he idealized. It’s like a vision of Radahn colored by a child’s naïveté, and it belies the irony of beginning an “Age of Compassion” with the demigod who idealized war the most at his side. I think all of this makes for a more interesting story than Miquella somehow bringing back Godwyn’s soul.
BUT I still believe that this story was not developed enough. Again, we don’t SEE enough of Radahn’s relationship to Miquella hinted at beforehand, so this FEELS like a cheap plot twist. Godwyn was the one with the established relationship to Miquella in the base game, so it being revealed that Radahn was actually the one he always wanted to be his lord is like… huh? since when???
anyway I also really loved Count Ymir’s quest and the revelations about the Fingers… the Two Fingers say that the Greater Will hasn’t abandoned this realm, but I think it’s clear now that they’ve been without the Greater Will’s guidance for a long, long time. Since we know Count Ymir was Rellana’s teacher, I wonder if his distrust in the guidance of the Fingers somehow came to influence Ranni?

It wasn't until ep 11 that I realized how fucked things must be for Helio and Sol
First Cassandra comes back, sister of Galicaea, a god they used to have dealings with but was long forgotten
Then it's night for 3 months and many of their congregation feel uneasy and lose faith
And while that's going on some werewolf teen is changing the worship of Galicaea, a long time confidant (and conspirator????) of Helio and Sol. And as we know, as above so below, so Galicaea is probably going through some changes
Now this other fiery summer god, who Sol once married off to Galicaea's sister, is back or trying to come back infringing on the status quo and reinstating a competing divine domain
And to add insult to injury the major catalyst to all these events was Helio's chosen one losing faith and creating her own
That's not even including the shady conspiratorial things that were probably going on between the surviving gods. Tough luck, man

not looking directly into the eye of this thought but given [gestures to my many and various posts about house dellamorte being a burning building you have to get out of] all that. it does strike me that a pregnancy could be the narratively correct catalyst for at least one version of that sol/lucanis post-canon breakup-before-it-gets-better i was on about.
#veilguard spoilers#sol de riva#this one has been hovering in my drafts for a while#but like given the primary horror here being whether you do this to the next generation. it kind of has to come up

Morgan doesn't utter a word. Sol has sat up by the end of his rant. His knees are tucked into his chest, arms wrapped around them. He stares blankly at a wall. Exhaustion pours off of her in waves. The silence persists for long enough that most would usually mark the conversation over by now. Xe gets a feeling, though, that she's not quite done yet. They're right, of course. Sol looks towards them, eyes wide and alert despite the medication coursing through his system. "Hayte," he whispers, "It- It doesn't think I'm people."
She doesn't say anything else. Morgan nods in understanding. They don't ask how he found out. They wouldn't. There are no reassurances xe could possibly give, not any that would mean anything. At least, not right now. Instead, they stand up. "I'm gonna grab you some water. Alright, sunshine? You stay right here." She acknowledges their departure with just a small nod. Instead electing to stare blankly at the wall again. Morgan walks into the kitchen to grab a cup. They'd known Sol had a lot more to him. Xe always had a vague sense of what could have caused some of her behaviors. It's unsurprising, at least to them, that he'd struggled socially growing up. The specifics are what interests xem. It's depressing, to say the least. The pressure to conform, to be liked, It's something Morgan has always despised. They'd rather be themself and drive people away than give in to what others expect from xem. That mindset has caused issues in the past, sure, but it's worth it. They don't think Sol would agree. For as long as Morgan has known her, Sol has been a people pleaser. It's clear in the way he holds himself around those who's opinions matter to her. It shows in how she smiles and laughs to hide any emotion that he doesn't think is "necessary." That's not to say he never shows negative emotion or that she can't assert herself. He wears anger well. When someone crosses a line or ignores a clear boundary, she isn't afraid to do something about it. They've seen it themself. Too many people have come out of an interaction with Sol with a broken nose for xem to say otherwise. Whether those lines are drawn well or if there's enough of them, however, is a different story. Not to mention the attachment.
(He's spent so long trying to be normal for other people that he practically throws himself at anyone who doesn't hate her "differences". She's so desperate for someone to know him that he lets too much slide. I think she knows that as well as I do.) By the time Morgan returns with the water, and a couple of painkillers, Sol has passed out in her seat. They smile, setting the water and painkillers down on a nearby counter for when he wakes up. They grab a blanket and place it gently over his shoulders. They'll have a lot to talk about once she's awake and sober. There's no way xe are going to pretend nothing happened, come late evening. For now, though, they'll sit and watch over her. Maybe even take a nap of their own once they process everything. Morgan glances over at Sol. "Rest well."
Sol knocks harshly on the door.
"Morgan? Morgan, open up!"
He takes a deep breath. A futile attempt to calm her already fraying nerves.
" I can hear you. I know you're in there."
"Alright, alright. I'm coming, jeez."
Morgan grabs their shirt off the back of their chair and shoves it on. They stumble a little as they make it to the door.
They unlock the door, swinging it open. They raise a brow as they take in Sol's disheveled appearance.
His clothes are wrinkled, and the bottom of her jeans damp from coming through the grass. He's breathing heavily, as if he'd been walking for a while.
"The hell happened to you?"
Xe usher her in.
#tripping tennis ball#acoustic tenor ball#// end roleplay#yaya#end notes time#Okay this ending one wasnt as detailed as i wanted it to be but i am so tired#Sol has a rough-ish past and this honestly is like. tip of the iceberg#despite that sol is /mostly/ functional!#Sol's sitting is deliberately meant to reference how Hayte sat in the chair on Halloween. Yk when it was mimicking her? anyway#Yes. Hayte was the catalyst for all this BUT that specific comment wasn't a dealbreaker for them as friends#honestly he wouldnt have taken it as hard if she weren't horribly overstimulated on this specific day#i also want to make it clear that a lot of Sols social struggles were the autism and not just the hearing#the hearing was a cover for most people to get away with treating him as 'other'#he just blames most of it on the hearing because its easier but she does acknowledge that's not the entire thing#also! the super hearing was progressive in strength!#it got significantly worse/better with puberty and was basically unnoticeable when she was in elementary#Sol has embraced a lot about herself and usually doesn't view being a 'freak' or 'abnormal' as something terrible but. everyone has bad day#yes sol beat the shit out of his bullies#yes sol punches people that make her uncomfortable#girlboss fr#Morgan is a good friend and recognized Sol just needed to vent#They do talk after this and Sol gets a boundaries lesson#I cant promise its a good Lesson bc....have you seen morgan?#but its better than nothing.#again Sol is actually really self aware. it just doesn't stop her from doing shit that will get him hurt#sigh my freaks#dm me any more questions yaya >:]

TKATB - Theories, wahoo.
This will contain spoilers for Days 1 and 2 of @fantasia-kitt 's 'The Kid At The Back', along with containing mentions of material found on her Twitter (https://twitter.com/fantasia_kitt).
This is mostly based off things I've picked apart and/or kinda pieced together. If you feel I'm incorrect, or am missing something; hell, if you have any theories of your own, please share!
Anyway, the actual theories (apologies in advance if the rambling is...uh...too rambly).
- Okay, so considering the fact Jess was moved into the ‘Lower Class’ school, it means that she either failed a class or got a ‘violation’ (those are the conditions for being moved down, according to Hyugo). Brittney mentioned how ‘confident and loud’ Jess is when she’s angry, and Brittney apparently was popular at some point, but lost it at the party (it was mentioned a few times by Deryl) 2 years ago due to an incident. I think maybe Brittney was being bullied and Jess lost her shit, maybe even got physical? And that led to the duo being sent to the ‘Lower Class’ school.
- Subaru (Geo) and Hyugo are mentioned to be brothers, but Hyugo says “Subaru! I wasn’t expecting to see you here!”, which could mean Geo (due to him being rich af) was moved down as well??? Hyugo and Geo are brothers but have different surnames, so I have a feeling (also because Geo is said to have daddy issues by Fantasia herself), that maybe Subaru Oogami and Hyugo Sugimoto aren’t related.
- Continuing that, Hyugo is the ‘traitor’ that the ‘Rough-Voiced Man’ was looking for in the cinema, so he’s obviously affilated with some dodgy people, and we know he hates injustice, so perhaps he is a mercenary or assassin of sorts (he did canonically kill somebody, with Sol witnessing it, check Fantasia’s twitter); and that could be why Geo avoids him? Hell, why does Subaru even go by Geo? Is it a codename, like Geo Sugimoto, is he hiding his real identity?
- With the person who threatened MC and their father with taking the farm, and the Marie Antoinette references, maybe the ‘handsome man’ is Crowe’s father? Hell, maybe even Eries, the fuchsia-eyed celebrity Jess loves. Along with that, the 'moral' I suppose of her biography was along the lines of: change is inevitable, either you deny it, or accept it. It'll happen anyway, what changes is your role and reaction to it (say you choose Crowe, Sol'll lose his marbles; if you choose Sol, Crowe might move on...unless he's also insane but I doubt it).
- Flowers seem to be important symbolism-wise, like the carnation and passionflower mentions made by Crowe (carnations can mean love for someone, or purity if white, or rejection/disappointment if yellow. Passionflowers mean renewal and hope I think). Brugmansia is also a poisonous flower, so it hints to Sol being a ‘poison’ that could kill us.
- I've seen this mentioned by @sweet-herbal-peach-tea (I'm sorry for tagging you anon, I wanted to credit you; also check their theories out as well anons), but I'll add it here anyway: With the prominence of Edgar Allan Poe's 'Annabel Lee', it could hint to Sol having loved us either in a past life...or...maybe we - the MC - look identical to a past lover of his, one who maybe passed; and he's deluded himself into thinking we are them?
Now for my favourite ones:
- The Hallow’s Ball, the event Deryl mentions on the groupchat, is on Friday. Assuming the game will be 7 days long and that Day 1 is Monday, that means Day 5 is crucial. It could be a catalyst, hell it may even decide what ending you get (Fantasia said there’ll probably be about 5, 1 true, 2 good, 2 bad; albeit that could change). Geo mentions he doesn’t want to go, neither does Brittney, but I think she will due to the fact Jess is. It may decide whether you choose Crowe or Sol, along with finalising relations with the other characters.
- Hyugo also mentions ‘taking care of Sol for him’, implying his absence…or even death. Hyugo pulls a gun on a person who seems to know him, maybe the boss of a crime syndicate? Hyugo hates injustice, so maybe the missing persons cases are being caused by people Hyugo knows, and he wants to stop them? I think if Hyugo vanishes (hell, it’s already known that he doesn’t always show up to class), it might be a way to get more info out of Geo.
That’s all I got off the top of my head lol, if it seems janky, I'm sorry. ;^
And uuh...yeah. This is my first Tumblr post so yeah. Love this Visual Novel and cannot wait to see more! (Especially of Geode lmfao).

In episode 3, Mother Aniseya tells Osha:
"Destiny is not decided for you by an anonymous Force. You get to make a choice, Osha. If you want to pull the Thread, then pull it."
This is the conversation surrounding how Osha wants to become a Jedi. Her choice, yet the choice is ultimately taken from her anyway, when the Jedi kill her coven. She ends up in the same place but not in her chosen way. This episode is called Destiny. Becoming a Jedi is decided for her as she wasn't the one to pull the Thread.
Then in episode 8, Osha sees "Mae" killing Master Sol when she wears Qimir's helmet:
"Mae. I saw Mae. She had her hand outstretched. She was killing Sol."
We later learn Osha actually saw herself. But she didn't know that. She chooses to kill Master Sol. After, she chooses to join Qimir too, telling him she wants to be trained.
This poses the question, how much of your future are you in control of? The witches believe the Thread ties you to your destiny but you can change it. Osha reiterates this after seeing who she thought to be Mae killing Sol: "But the future isn't fixed."
In that sense, she both proves and disproves her claim. The future isn't fixed because she's the one who kills Sol. Yet she always was to begin with. She just didn't know.
If the future (or your destiny) is a matter of belief, then yes, she has changed hers. By killing Sol and joining Qimir, she pulls the Thread. In contrast to episode 3, Destiny, the finale's title is Osha's choice: The Acolyte. Becoming an Acolyte, unlike becoming a Jedi, is her choice.
Choice is central to most of Osha and Qimir's relationship too. Beyond taking her to the Unknown Planet, he doesn't give her his lightsaber - he leaves it for her to pick up. Same with his helmet. He's guiding or offering, but not deciding for her.
And yet, Osha and Qimir's relationship can still be traced back to when the Jedi came to Brendok. If Osha became a Jedi as she decided, if her coven was never killed due to the Jedi's decisions... Osha and Qimir don't meet.
Master Sol killing Mother Aniseya is both the catalyst of the story, and the defining variable that makes Osha first joining the Jedi someone else's choice. (Because any alternative option was gone, regardless of what she wanted in the first place.)
I think this is something season 2 could have explored more. Whether that be Vernestra's visions (in regard to Qimir's backstory, that could set up a question of choice versus destiny - what if she suspects he'll turn to the dark side because of a vision and her response solidifies that?), or generally, this could tie into Mae and Osha's existence due to them being created with the Force.
On a larger scale, The Acolyte even fits into destiny. Because no matter what Osha decides within the period of time The Acolyte covers, she will be restricted by the story to come. Let's say Plagueis is on the Unknown Planet specifically for her. We already know Plagueis will go on to work with Palpatine, Palpatine will go on to... set the primary story of Star Wars in motion. Osha could pull the Thread by rejecting Plagueis and stepping outside of it.

if Miquella, if we’re assuming from base game alone, who working so long to undermine the golden order, was comrades with Godwyn I wouldn’t say it’s super far fetched for Godwyn to have participated in his own assassination
the ghost in Castle Sol refers to Godwyn as a “comrade” of Miquella, meaning they were working together (to uproot the Golden Order)
given Miquella’s want of a consort and resorting to brainwashing to get what he wants, i also would say it’s not out of the question for Godwyn to abandon Miquella’s plot and align himself with Ranni for the Night of Black Knives.
He’s the perfect candidate to be sacrificed to push Marika to shatter the Elden Ring, if he knew that…organizing or walking into his murder with a 1000 step organized plan from Ranni is more strategic to overturning the GO than Miquella’s demonstrated failure with the Haligtree. and we know the Haligtree failed before the solar eclipse failed, occurring before Miquella dives into the Land of Shadow
regardless it brings to mind that Godwyn’s death pose in the opening cinematic appears like one of acceptance to his fate to me. it’s one that even parallels Marika who we know is torn to shreds with guilt for her actions. if the Golden Order is built on blood it makes sense for Godwyn’s title “the Golden” to be too. his death is a catalyst for the Shattering precisely BECAUSE he was beloved by his family and the people.
the common argument “it should’ve been Godrick” because he’s hated doesn’t hold any water considering killing a scorned distant relation wouldn’t shake up the status quo like killing Godwyn.
food for thought
#elden ring spoilers#elden ring is also meant to tug on your heart strings#and the idea of something you’re about to do will break your mother’s heart is big one#even if Marika did ultimately play a role via lending the black knives to ranni it would still hurt#especially if HE helped organize it… idk… it’s tragic

Sol Badguy’s a war criminal?
Oh god yeah. I could write an essay on all the war crimes Sol Badguy has committed but I'm just gonna list off the big ones that can be quickly cited. The information on what counts as a "war crime" comes from the United Nations' website HERE.
Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court
Article 8 War Crimes
For the purpose of this Statute, ‘war crimes’ means: A. Grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, namely, any of the following acts against persons or property protected under the provisions of the relevant Geneva Convention: I. Wilful killing III. Wilfully causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or health; IV. Extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly;
Most of these come from Sol's post-Begin, pre-"Sol Badguy" era where he was hunting down labs doing Gear cell research or labs that Asuka himself may have been working at, which he blew up, or during the Crusades. He almost definitely did not have time to evacuate those buildings before destroying them and we have NO idea what all he got up to during the Crusades. If Ky has guilt over having to kill humans/his own men for the benefit of humanity as a whole, then Sol probably had to do some messed up shit too. Sources: Begin epilogue, GG World/Frederick
B. Other serious violations of the laws and customs applicable in international armed conflict, within the established framework of international law, namely, any of the following acts: VI. Killing or wounding a combatant who, having laid down his arms or having no longer means of defence, has surrendered at discretion
Sol kills a bounty that was surrendering and begging for his life right before the events of Missing Link. I forget where the officially localized source for this is atm, but it's in the Japanese Missing Link manual.
XI. Killing or wounding treacherously individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army; XII. Declaring that no quarter will be given;
He kills people with fire and with a blunt sword. The United Nations' The Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons has a whole thing on why incendiary weapons are bad: PROTOCOL ON PROHIBITIONS OR RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF INCENDIARY WEAPONS (PROTOCOL III)
I'm not sure where under any of the Conventions his Gear cell research falls, but that's probably covered by something somewhere. It ended up being used in multiple inhumane experiments on living human beings (Testament, Aria) and animals (GGBegin: bears, dogs, owls, crocodiles), and was the catalyst for a war that almost wiped out the entire human race. He wasn't directly responsible for that, but he certainly contributed to it.
One could probably argue in the case of the Gears he mercilessly slaughters too. They're shown to be fully sapient (or at least highly intelligent), and to have what seems to be a budding culture of their own. They've shown Sol sparing at least a few humanoid ones (Dizzy, Solaria) but he's killed a ton of the more monstrous ones. Source: Introduction to Metaphysics (GG2Overture Material Collection), Dr. Paradigm & his units in GG2 Overture, the Ganymede Gear settlement. Solaria is from Lightning the Argent.
In short: Sol Badguy is a war criminal.
This isn't a series called Innocent Gear though. Pretty much the entire cast has done one fucked up thing that would get them on trial at the United Nations. Sol Badguy's just one of the worst and I think a lot of people forget that there's a reason why he isolates and hates himself lol

some thoughts on acolyte ep 7 (spoilers ahead)
things i liked:
light of the jedi great disaster reference!!!!!!!!!! GREAT! DISASTER! REFERENCE!!!!!!
mother aniseya and mother koril doing cool shit with the force <3
reath silas i MEAN torbin wanting to just go home to coruscant and hating being in the field on a mission, and that being his downfall YES. very good!
possessed kelnacca fight!!!
sol deciding to drop mae's side of the platform so he could save osha. THAT was a good writing choice that fit with sol's character and makes us understand why he feels so guilty. THAT was satisfying. (some of the other writing choices...........😐)
other thoughts:
even though this is a younger sol, and he has clearly matured and learned a lot since the events on brendok, his actions in this episode felt kind of out of character. he was SO rash, inconsiderate, and irresponsible. i like that we're showing he has flaws, but this felt lazy. like the only thing they could think of to show that he did something horrible and unforgivable was have him kill mother aniseya.
i think:
a) they should have focused more on sol's decision to save osha and not mae (him thinking he had killed a child is a lot worse to have on his conscious than killing an adult imo) and his subsequent lying to osha about what happened, and
b) they should have focused on torbin as the catalyst for what went down. he's a padawan, he's homesick, his rashness and recklessness makes sense. especially after mother aniseya got in his head! he's not himself! and sol's "sin" here could have been failing to stop torbin, and things just got out of hand, and for sol it ends up being wrong place, wrong timing, etc. things just spiral out of control, with torbin at the center. which would track bc torbin felt guilty enough about all this to kill himself so.
i think THOSE things should have been the focus of sol's guilt (saving osha, not mae; and failing to stop torbin) and i think that would've suited his character better, it would've been better writing, and it would've added more nuance to his guilt. instead of just "oh he's the worst bc he killed someone"
also killing mother aniseya like that was really unsatisfying tbh. and again, in a show where it already feels like the black lead actress' characters are getting put on the back-burner a bit, it doesn't feel great to kill off another black woman with hardly any lead up. especially since koril was the one being outwardly violent, and up until that point, aniseya had been trying to do things peacefully.
and i'm happy with getting more flashbacks, i was expecting us to get another episode centered on the past, but this also does leave the issue of the pacing of the show overall, and there being A LOT to wrap up in the final episode. but we shall see what happens i suppose!
#these are my thoughts after just one watch. i definitely need to sit with it more#but i think there were spots of weak writing in this episode#so i didn't love it. but i enjoyed it#the acolyte#the acolyte spoilers#star wars
