Because Zoey likes to sleep by the front door and try to escape when we come home, Nat and I rarely say hello when we come in anymore. One of us opens the door and the other one hears “No! You live here!” as the first tries to maneuver whatever they have with them in the door without punting the fuzzy menace.
I usually stop at “no, you live here” and then miette-style kick her body like the football, but Nat gives this fucking cat a dissertation as to why she needs to not leave.
“No, you live here. We made promises. We told people you would live here, and I don’t believe you have the money to get your own house. Stay inside, there’s dogs out here. And noises. You live inside. That’s what cats do. Also move your silly hats and I’ll give you lanai. I’ll give you birthday. Move, sweetheart—in the house.”
I love this ridiculous man and his stupid cat so much.

good news: got my window screen fixed without having to even look at let alone interact with the horribly sexist maintenance guy who obviously hates me
bad news: he left the front door open and patched the screen with what looks like hot glue
