At least five to six shots of her lurking in the background, murmuring in Alex's ear... For a 2 minute trailer, that's a lot. They're clearly not shying away from the creepy predatoriness of this relationship and I am so here for that 🙌

It occurred to me, given your posts of Bones and Crusher: Is the CMO always the most attractive member of the cast? Bashir certainly keeps up the trend, Holo-Doc is more questionable, but we've got some strong contenders in the recent series. (M'Benga, oh man)

If the question is whether the Star Trek doctor is always the most attractive to me personally, the answer is yes, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), most of the time (though a lot of it is that I just really like the characters, as Bones, Crusher, and Bashir are my favourites in their respective series).

I love the character of the EMH, but don't find him particularly attractive, per se (sorry Robert Picardo, but I think you're awesome). I don't know who it'd be on Voyager for me--there are several candidates, because, of course, I find many Trek characters attractive.

I think there's a case to be made for Culber, as well.

SNW is a hard call, because that entire cast is ridiculously good looking, but I think I'm somewhat more bi for Ortegas than for M'Benga. I have to stop accidentally sitting behind Melissa Navia at plays before it gets awkward.

But, to judge the attractiveness of the Star Trek doctors for yourself, I present my post of every doctor in a slutty v-neck. Unfortunately, the last time I updated it was in 2019, so before SNW, but if anyone wants to find me a picture of M'Benga in a v-neck I will not be complaining.

The OC: Ryan & Taylor Appreciation

I've just done another series rewatch and I have thoughts... I know the show focused on how different Ryan and Taylor were. It was mostly played for laughs and they were certainly their own rom-com. But I do wish they had been able to delve into what actually connects them: they both came from abusive, broken households. And from that, they both had these feelings of inadequacy that manifested themselves in different ways. For Taylor, it was this neurotic, overachieving. For Ryan, it was him going into himself, always having a chip on his shoulder, and always waiting for the other shoe to drop because good things don't happen to guys like him. Aside from the fact that the writers didn't have the time to do this, and I'm sure they wanted to keep the lightness of the season through their relationship, I would've loved to see more moments where they acknowledged this.

One of my favorite Ryan/Taylor moments is from the episode My Two Dads when Frank comes to the Cohens for dinner. After all the drama with that situation, they share this really lovely moment where they acknowledge how they got through their first "relationship milestone" and Taylor encourages Ryan to spend time with his family. Just a level of maturity that Ryan never had in his other relationships, and that moment really solidified why Taylor was such a great partner for him.

I was also listening to Ben's episode of The Welcome to the OC, Bitches podcast and Ben called out Autumn as one of his favorite people to work with because it was through the Ryan/Taylor dynamic that he got to explore a side of Ryan that he hadn't been able to play previously, and it shows how much fun he had with her.

I feel like people are sensitive calling any girl character written by a man as “boy crazy” but the reading of that is still true. It’s sooo okay that piper is cringe… she literally is isolated in so many aspects of her life at that point it’s literally fine and realistic and not endangering feminism if you read it this way! In fact it endears us to her struggles! Im also struck with how much this inherent loneliness aspect is so prevalent with the tlh trio specifically. They really would be sooo good as villains ummmmm anyway wiki writer co-signs this

I really do find it fascinating that her canonical personality traits really do depict her as shy, mature, calm, intuitive, and nurturing (always an alarming word to use on a teen girl character written by a guy but alas..), but also very very self-conscious bc of her low self esteem from aforementioned isolation and very specific rejection [in regards to femininity]. I always rmr that scene in the start of moa where Piper is trying so hard to practice the words she’ll say beforehand to the roman crowd and is so nervous abt it.. it’s the anxietyyyyy. Its typical to depict her and Leo as the more outgoing ones compared to jason but it really is the absolute opposite where Jason may be better equipped to speak with strangers or acquaintances bc of how he grew up whereas Piper and Leo would easily retreat lol.
