TCW Mythbusters AU
Obi-Wan and Cody are Adam and Jaime respectively, with Anakin, Rex, and Ahsoka as the Build Team (kaBOOM)
whenever they run into legal issues, Obi-Wan will call up his politician friend, Bail; when they run into safety issues, Cody calls his brother Fox, who's a firefighter
when they need more...specialized help, they call their mutual special forces trainer, Alpha-17
when they have insurance restrictions on stunts, Anakin will call in his secret wife (while Rex badly tries to distract the camera crew from recording their dramatic phone conversations), Padme, who's a foreign noblewoman, who will show up with her team of bodyguards and perform the stunt instead
#star wars#mythbusters#the clone wars#obi wan kenobi#commander cody#anakin skywalker#captain rex#ahsoka tano#bail organa#commander fox#alpha 17#padme amidala#handmaidens#is his real name alpha 17#or is that just a codename they use on screen to protect his identity#it's up to the viewer to decide what they think :)#none of the cast and crew will ever respond to that question :)

Recap of IWTV Screening and Conversation at 92stY
(Please dont repost/reupload my pics or vids from here or IG anywhere else. Sharing/linkinh is ok. Thanks!)
I started the day with a fang gang meetup hosted by Black Girl Talks Fangs. The restaurant was cute and the food great. I'm not a big wine drinker but got a blood red Chateau in honor of the occasion. After, we headed over to the event space.
In my experience attending different events there, the actors typically come in just before the event starts or a few minutes into the screening.
In this case- it was both.
Eric strolled up super casual and had a convo with myself and a few other fans asking if we had read the books and what we were looking forward to. He gave a parting message that the season is amazing and he is not just saying that because he is part of it. I believe him. He was super personable and down to earth.
Delainey arrived next and again kind and generous with her time. She has a very chill energy. Her outfit was more casual this day but I thought chic and the face card never declines. Her makeup artist does her right! And can we talk about that sleek ass ponytail
She complimented my cosplay and said she thinks my beret might be the screen accurate one!
She asked to touch it and said mine was softer!
She also said Carol Cutshall gifted her the beret so she owns Claudia's.
I put this cosplay together in 3 weeks which is barely enough time. Thankfully I had the idea knocking around since October when we first saw this fit in the trailer that dropped at NYCC 23.
Myself and a few fans waited till about 15 minutes into the start of the screening before we gave up on waiting for Jam Reiderson.
While running to the screening I nearly literally ran into Rolin. I asked for a quick pic which he obliged.
The episode was amazing. Very much on par of season 1 so far. Can't wait to see the full thing. Delainey fit into Claudia seamlessly.
The panel itself was great as well. I have a few vids in my IWTV highlight on IG and a few others in an upcoming youtube video I will make AFTER the episode drops. There are some spoiler bits plus 92Y is dropping the full panel too after the ep airs.
Highlights include watching Jam Reiderson literally communicate telepathically- what was the fun on set story?!
Sam slapping Jacobs' lower inner thigh in front of god (Rolin) and everyone.
Working together is like putting on an old glove. An old sock?! Lol what. 'Is that dirty?'
Assad trauma dumping on main. "Armands lost...like me." "I'm intimidated by the cast" Sir please!
Assad also being spicy saying he thinks Armands memory of Lestat is pretty accurate. Drag him king😄
Delainey and Jacob gushing about how they immediately bonded and established their father/daughter/sibling vibes.
Eric calling Jam puppies and Jacob saying "I'm a grown man a parent"lol Sir you are a baby girl as evidenced by
Rolin saying that's a book and this is a show. To me that said was book lovers have the book and you always will but this is a new thing that respects the source but isn't tied down to every single detail.
Then Sam saying there are contradictions even within the series. Please lets talk about it.
And I love this new narrative everyone is spinning, even Sam, who seemed to be in the Lestat is right and Louis is lying boat last press go round. Now everyone is saying there is no right and wrong or truth and lies-the story is told by different people with different perspectives and that's all. Which yes! that's ALWAYS how I saw it! Just because Lestat became the main character and most favored doesn't mean he is infallible.
Jacob and that plushie. Who would have imagined he'd love it so much. Another fan was coming with their Lestat. I don't know if they had intentions of giving it to Sam but sadly they didn't make it.
After the panel I went back to the spot and aimed to get Jacobs signature on my Street of Immortality print which I managed.
I would have loved to get Sam's to but I also wanted to give other fans the chance to get photos and autos. I was already so lucky.
They signed for a loooong time. So long I thought our side wouldnt have a chance or only a few people would. Turns out fans were conducting mini interviews with them lol Someone needs to collect all the questions and answers.
Also they are the smallest cast you've ever seem. Pocketbsized. Everyone one of them is so unassuming.
Overall I had a super good time. The audience vibes were immaculate. The person beside me during the screening/panel was losing their shit then apologizing. But honestly I was here for it lol
Also you could 100% tell it was an audience full of the online fandom.
I ended the night checking out the Time Square ad. It was awesome to see our vamps represented. Hopefully we get a ton of new fans from all the amazing marketing this year.

Have we talked yet about how amc Interview With the Vampire is singlehandedly saving the tv slowburn
#me#interview with the vampire#amc iwtv#media studies major time#iwtv#adaptation studies thoughts#I’m not talking about only in a romantic ‘ship’ context#though they are doing that too#I just mean. this is the only show I can think of#currently being produced#that feels unafraid to take its time telling its story#so many tv shows nowadays#especially book-to-screen adaptations#are glorified miniseries#and/or compressing everything into happening quickly#to feed that instant gratification hunger#which to be fair#is not the fault of the cast/crew of the shows for the most part#they’re either being TOLD to prioritize instant audience gratification from higher-ups concerned with profit#OR they’re LEARNING to prioritize the more ‘exciting’ and ‘marketable’ stuff earlier on#bc they know without its draw they stand barely any chance of getting renewed for long enough to tell the full story#anyway. my media studies degree thought of the day.

I finished our flag means death season two finally
And I was trying to articulate to a friend how the show, besides being just a really, really good show, does amazing queer representation and how a show about pirates will always contain some element of the queer experience in like being othered from society and whatnot, and I couldn’t quite figure out how to say it
But I think what Izzy says to the prince about what being a pirate is sums it up pretty well:
“It’s about belonging to something when the world has told you you’re nothin’. It’s about finding the family to kill for when yours are long dead. It’s about letting go of ego for something larger.
The crew.”
And of course this is for sure intentional and definitely been pointed out before and maybe I’m being a little dramatic about it or something but it is such a good line,
I enjoy this show so much you guys
#and of course Con O’Neill’s performance was INCREDIBLE#the cast the crew the everything it’s all lovely#this season had me screaming into the void and also at the screen#our flag means death#our flag means death season two#ofmd#ofmd s2#david jenkins#stede bonnet#ed teach#Blackbeard#izzy hands#zheng yi sao

I'm back with some fanart of characters that show up for 5 seconds! :')
#No kidding. That German soldier (whom I called Heinrich) has a few seconds of screen time and he's in the background!!#We literally only see his face. Nothing more.#But here I am giving him a name... some love... and a partner...#I regret nothing >:]#I'm done with this :')#Christmas Truce#Joyeux Noël 2005#Background Characters#Mathieu Couturier#Thierry Morallec#Eliott#Heinrich#<- I'll have to find a surname for these two.#Morallec and Couturier are canon (I just gave them first names)#UPDATE: Eliott has a canon surname - Guimond. Found it in the list of the cast & crew.#Sadly there's nothing about Heinrich :(#Eliott/Heinrich#my drawings

What was the film that you saw at a midnight screening? I'd love to go an event like that!
it was some b-movie screening at my local theatre! ✨
they host events like that every other month and i adore the atmosphere there!! everyone is blatantly cracking their sodas open the second opening credits roll, the audience is bursting with laughter one dialogue line at the time and the last time i was there a cute girl offered me a package of wasabi-coated peanuts (she's just discovered she hates them). we established common ground over that
i think this particular one was birdemic 2? which might paint you the picture better than i did!
#thanks for asking! i'd love to take you to one of those screenings <3#they're just so so nice and like warm in ur chest#and the movies you see there are like no others#i just love bad movies so much y'all have no idea#i'm a regular at premiers and such too but they never give me the kick those terrible oldies do#they're often buzzing with actual real love for movie making#the cast is like 13 high school friends and their set is their own neighbourhood#even the cars have their plates blurred bc they're actual casemates' cars#and you can really really see that the crew had the best time making the movie#and like this is what cinema is all about to me you know#they love for making movies seeing movies laughing at movies with people while drinking cheep cider#and that my friend is felt so well during those screanings#sorry i'm rambling so much i just have a lot of feelings about them aghh#love you! <3

An uncredited Jacqueline Hill appears as an unnamed Irish barmaid in The Vise: Death Pays No Dividends (1.5, ABC, 1954); in the UK, this episode wasn't seen until 1960 as part of ITV anthology The Crooked Path
#fave spotting#jacqueline hill#barbara wright#doctor who#the vise#classic doctor who#death pays no dividends#the crooked path#1954#classic tv#oof. ok. here goes. the story behind The Vise is needlessly convoluted and frankly absurdly confusing. the Danzigers were a pair of#American brothers who moved to the UK in the early 50s to produce tv film serials‚ The Vise being their first major production. the used#British casts‚ writers‚ crews and directors but the series was being explicitly made for American tv; the ABC mentioned above is not the#Associated British Cinemas group who were one of the big four franchise holders in UK television‚ but the American Broadcasting Company for#whom this series was being made and who transmitted it across the pond. there the series was The Vise‚ and then when recurring character#Mark Saber became popular‚ it was retooled as The Vise: Mark Saber and then again when the series later moved to NBC it became Saber of#London. despite being almost entirely a british production‚ The Vise was never seen here in that format; the episodes were split up and#appeared under various different anthology titles including The Crooked Path and Tension‚ sometimes not appearing on uk#screens until years later (if indeed they did all end up getting a uk showing). others were edited together into loose portmanteau films#for cinema release. Mark Saber‚ to add confusion upon confusion‚ was a pre existing character who'd been around for several years before#The Vise and had had his own series (albeit with a different star) already on American television (itself having gone through several#titles‚ including ABC Mystery Theatre and simply Mark Saber; that latterly being one of the titles which later Vise episodes went out under#back in the UK). i know. i know. my head hurts too.#regardless of the (very confusing) background‚ the series is quite a lot of fun and rather better than its reputation (it's true that#the Danzigers were businessmen first and artists a very distant second). it has an unmistakable wash of the USA about it despite featuring#almost zero americans (it has a host delivering to camera introductions‚ which feels very american‚ but even he's not a yank; Australian#actor Ron Randell got the gig and very good he is too). it also has a definite degree of luridness which I'm not certain UK tv was quite#ready for in 54 (stories typically involving adultery‚ blackmail and some really quite suggestive scene settings). poor Jac doesn't get#much of a part‚ but she does get a few lines (it's not unusual that she's still uncredited‚ with most Vise eps seeming to credit only 3 or#4 main players and of course Randell). her Irish accent is pretty good but she doesn't get any closeups alas

#it's like nirvanaaaaaaa he's moved on the the next layer.. he's writing the story nowwwww#waaaawwwww goes crazy#goes crazy forever. that was sooo cool.#wowie zowie#interior chinatown#i think probably they didnt need that final little flashback to the screen saying 'die' like. i got it.#but then again of course it needed that because that's what a tv show would do. yknow.#there's a quote i think from that casting of frank stone game#from a review of a horror movie that's like 'the crew spend the whole movie demonstrating all of the better movies they've seen'#this is like. a good version of that. like.#interior chinatown is a crime show that references all the worse crime shows they've seen#yknow what i mean
