i'm not gonna lie i don't always find the way the cw writers pair people up to be authentic. especially for klaus. one look at someone and he's smitten because they're attractive? then begins the slow process of getting to know them and he finds some traits he thinks are worth sticking onto? i think it takes him much more to truly care and love for someone. i like the idea of klaus and camille, but i hated the execution through and through. i like the idea of klaus and caroline, but i think there's a lot of depth missing. i think klaus and caroline was probably the most accurate, what with klaus trying to appeal to her "darker" side and caroline being repelled by him. he's a bad person and he makes no pretense for anything otherwise. i just don't see a world where he's automatically gripped by someone.

Go Timberwolves!
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Plus size! cheerleader!reader
Description: You're a cheerleader and Elijah is in the stands. Your friend Jessica notices him first.
Warnings: none
____________________________________________________________
“Who is that?”
Jessica was looking over at the stands and toward a group of guys, all sitting next to each other. They looked hilariously out of place, all seemingly dressed for different events. The one with reddish hair and kiss-me lips was wearing a velvet jacket over a v-neck, three necklaces dangling over his heart. You’d seen him hanging around before, and recognized him as Rebekah’s brother Klaus. How many times had he been watching Caroline from the sidelines during a game or desperately offering to walk her to her car? Doubtful that Jessica didn’t know who that was, or that he was clearly obsessed with everyone’s favorite blonde.
Then there was the youngest of the three. He was dressed pretty normally for a high school football game in a t-shirt and jeans. He spoke animatedly to Klaus, who looked about as thrilled to listen as he would have been to get struck by lightning. His name was escaping your memory, but it was another K name, you were sure of it. Kyle! No…Kal?
All thoughts of K names were stripped from your thoughts the second your eyes landed on Jessica’s mystery man.
His hair was dark, and his eyes were darker. His features were angular, practically Grecian. He was wearing a suit, which was ridiculous because who wore a suit in Mystic Falls unless they were a realtor or attending a Lockwood party? Somehow, though, he pulled it off so perfectly that there was no question that he should be wearing it.
Never had you been so struck by a stranger. His eyes scanned over the crowd, and across the field, before landing squarely on you.
You blushed and turned away, heart thundering in your chest.
Elena and Bonnie had followed Jessica’s gaze too, and gave each other knowing looks. You were friendly with Elena but not close. You and Bonnie had been good friends since middle school, though, so you felt no shame sidling up to her and joining her conversation.
“Info on Jessica’s mystery man?” you asked, spreading your legs as you sat next to Bonnie, beginning to stretch. She laughed and gave you a stern look. “He’s Klaus’ older brother. No mystery.”
You bent forward, stretching out your back and Bonnie followed suit. “Off limits?” you ask, trying to seem curious but not invested.
“Yes.” she said quickly. Elena smacked Bonnie’s thigh.
“Elijah is not off limits.” she said. “He’s actually the only one out of the three of them I’d say is pretty on…limits…”
Elijah....you tried the name out in your head. Yes, you decided, that was a good name.
You all giggled. “I mean, Klaus is just too in love with Caroline.” you shrugged. “I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere near him.”
You sat up and bent your neck to the side, eyeing the rest of the cheerleaders. “Hey, where is Caroline?”
“Tyler drama.” Bonnie said conspiratorially. She sat upright, finished with her stretching. “He’s leaving again.”
“Shit.” you said, finishing up yourself. “I don’t really know what she sees in him anyway. He’s always been kind of an asshole. And Klaus seems to really like her.”
“Well Klaus needs to earn her.” Elena said hastily, turning away slightly. You weren’t sure what that was supposed to mean, but if Bonnie’s similarly agitated face was any indication, there was something going on that you weren’t in on. It wasn’t really any of your business anyway, you conceded, so you didn’t harp on it. Boy drama was so not your thing.
There was a fanfare suddenly, as the marching band began playing the introduction music for the Timberwolves. Rebekah stood and called you and the other cheerleaders into formation.
Once the players began coming out, you’d go right into the classic Timberwolves fighting cheer.
Just as the first player was making his entrance, a blonde head appeared next to you, startling you. It was as if she'd appeared out of thin air.
“Caroline!” you said, throwing a hand on your chest. “You scared the shit out of me.”
She smiled nervously. “Did I?”
You just laughed and joined the rest of the girls in the Timberwolves fighting chant, shaking your pom-poms and kicking your legs up.
The game didn’t start out super well for the Timberwolves, so you didn’t have a ton to do for awhile. You spoke to Caroline briefly about Tyler, but she didn’t want to say much, and she seemed genuinely upset about something. You weren’t close enough with her to give her emotional support, so you instead distracted her with a quick game of fuck, marry, kill between the three handsome Mikaelson boys.
“Kill Kol, Marry Klaus, Fuck Elijah.” Caroline said confidently. Kol! That was his name.
She was speaking a bit loudly, like she wanted someone to hear her. Probably Jessica.
You glanced up at the stands and noticed Klaus and Kol with their heads bent together. Elijah looked completely nonplussed.
“What about you?” she asked.
You glanced up at the brothers again. Elijah was looking in your direction now, almost as if he was listening to your conversation. He was probably just looking at the cheerleaders. He definitely wasn’t admiring you - you were the only girl on the squad who wore a uniform above a size large.
Still, you couldn’t help but fantasize about the idea of the three of them. Kol wasn’t really your type, so he was an easy kill. Klaus was gorgeous, to be sure, but something about Elijah was still singing through your veins after laying eyes on him that first time.
“Kill Kol, fuck Klaus, marry Elijah.”
Caroline gave you a wicked smile. “Elijah, huh?”
You shrugged. “He’s incredibly good looking.”
“Poor Kol.” Caroline said, her lip pouting.
“Rejection builds character.”
You glanced up again, and Elijah looked as if he might be laughing - Klaus too. Kol had his arms crossed against his chest. Weird….
Rebekah shrieked all of a sudden, breaking you out of your thoughts, as the Timberwolves finally scored, and the squad got on their feet to cheer.
The game ended with a Timberwolves win which you were thankful for - every win meant half price burgers at the grill. You and a few other girls planned to go there after, and you grabbed your stuff from the locker room, hoping to get to your car and beat them there - you were not going to be the fat girl in a mini skirt sliding into a booth full of people.
Bonnie, Elena and Caroline were all leaving together, huddled in conversation.
“Half price burgers, ladies?” you asked, walking backwards in front of them. “A Timberwolves win is a win for all of us.” you joked, quoting your incredibly cringy gym coach.
The girls laughed, but shook their heads.
“Homework.”
“Boy drama.”
“Tired.”
They’d all spoken at the same time, and you gave them all an incredulous look. “Ladies, I’m heartbroken. Next time if you’re going to break my heart, do it one at a time.”
You gave them a winning smile, and they returned it easily, thankful you hadn’t been upset.
“Next time I’m making you guys go!” you called, still walking backwards as you exited the hallway out of the locker room. You backed into the double doors leading to the parking lot and called a goodbye to them, turning around.
And slamming right into someone.
“Oh!” you cried, toppling towards the asphalt. The ground never came, though, because a pair of hands was holding you steady, and lifted you slowly upwards until you were staring Elijah Mikaelson in the face.
“My apologies.”he said, in a voice that hit that your ears and sent shivers straight to the apex of your thighs. Your jaw dropped, suddenly faced with his nearness.
“Not at all!” you cried. “I wasn’t looking.”
Not too far away stood Kol and Klaus. The former was watching you and Elijah, looking like he was trying very hard not to laugh. Klaus, of course, had become distracted the moment Caroline had appeared. He was stalking towards her, and to your surprise, Caroline looked like she might be walking towards him too. Normally she brushed him off completely.
You focused your attention back on Elijah.
“Excellent job tonight.” he said, his eyes locked on yours. You felt flushed from the unbroken eye contact, but didn’t dare break it.
“Thanks. It makes our job a bit easier when the team actually manages to score.”
He laughed, full and bright, and it made your heart soar to hear it.
“I’m Y/N.” you said, introducing yourself.
“Elijah. Mikaelson.”
“Nice to meet you Elijah.”
You offered your hand and he took it firmly in yours, but rather than shake it, he brought it up to his lips and kissed the back of it. Ok, you were officially a puddle on the ground and people were going to have to step in you to get to their cars.
“Hi!” came a bubbly voice, and you glanced over seeing Jessica. Of course she was going to try and stake her claim.
“I’m Jessica.” she said, sidling up next to you. “I saw you in the stands earlier. You’re a Mikaelson, aren’t you?”
Elijah nodded politely. “My reputation precedes me.”
Jessica smiled her flirty smile and pushed her chest out. “Rebekah and I are good friends. I make a point to know my friends’ families. It’s only good manners.”
You rolled your eyes involuntarily from behind Jessica, who had stepped into your space. When had she ever spent time with Rebekah outside of practice? She was clearly making her claim known, and you huffed, backing off.
A guy like Elijah wouldn’t be interested in you, anyway. It would have been nice to at least been given a chance, though, before perfect little Jessica had to come in and do her thing.
You sighed to yourself. That wasn’t nice. Jessica was your friend. It just sucked, sometimes, being the only bigger girl in a group of girls. Things were different for you.
“Well, I’ll let you two get acquainted.” you said, and Jessica quickly told you not to wait up for her at the Grill. You smiled encouragingly at her, even though you would have rather eaten nails. Jessica did technically see Elijah first, though, so regardless, the rule of dibs was firmly in place. Elijah’s eyes met yours and he looked…disappointed? It was probably nothing.
As you turned to go to your car, Matt Donovan brushed past you, walking fast. “Sorry, Y/N!” he called, power walking to his truck. You shook your head, laughing. You’d never seen Matt move that fast for anything, not even out on the field.
The other girls had made their way out now, and you caught up with them briefly to let them know you'd be going home instead of out. You weren't really in the mood for celebration any more. They gave you tight hugs and told you to call them in the morning, and you gave them all the finger just to get a laugh out of them.
Bonnie was leaning against her car when you made your way to yours.
“Why’d you do that?” she asked, giving you a curious look.
“Why’d I do what?” you said, tossing your duffle into the backseat.
“You just let Jessica take over. You were talking to Elijah first.”
“Yeah, but Jessica saw him first. Besides, I bumped into him. It’s not like we talked about anything profound.”
Bonnie sighed. “You wanted to talk to him though.”
You crossed your arms. “Yeah, so?”
“So!” she cried, placing her hands on your shoulders. “So you’re the funniest girl on the planet, and you're beautiful and talented and you deserve to be happy.”
You rolled your eyes. “Shut up.”
“It’s true! You’re amazing.”
“I know, I just wanted you to say more.”
Bonnie shoved at you playfully. “See? Your wit is unmatched.”
“And you’re kind.” you said seriously. “And a really, really good friend.”
Bonnie looked down, her mouth quirked to the side. “Thank you.”
A laugh echoed from across the parking lot, and you stared at Caroline and Klaus standing by Caroline’s car. They were standing close together and laughing, and Klaus’ finger was twirled around a strand of Caroline’s hair.
You hit Bonnie in the shoulder and pointed.
“Ummmmmm?” You gave her an incredulous look.
“I know!” Bonnie said, coming to lean against your car. “She said she broke up with Tyler. She said she’s done with wishy-washy.”
You smiled happily as the two continued flirting. “I’ve been dying for them to get together.”
“No, literally!” She threw her hands up in the air. “The tension was incredibly cuttable.”
You snorted. “Like, thick enough I think I’d need a chainsaw.”
Bonnie hid her giggle behind her hand. You watched Klaus and Caroline as Bonnie began asking you if you were still going to the grill.  You wished you had a guy to flirt with against your car.
“I’m kind of hungry all of a -”
Bonnie’s voice trailed off, and you tore your eyes away from the happy couple to stare at your friend.
“Bon?”
Her eyes were trained behind you, a small smile on her lips. You followed her eyes, and there was Elijah. His nearness startled you, and you jumped a foot in the air.
“My apologies.” he said, amusement in his eyes.
“We have got to stop meeting like that.” you responded.
“I’ll see you tomorrow!” Bonnie called, already on the other side of her car and hopping in the front seat. You gave her an incredulous look.
“Traitor!” you called, as she began to pull out. She looked completely self righteous as she pulled out of the parking lot, Britney blasting on her speakers.
“Well..” you breathed, turning back to Elijah. “Twice in one night? To what do I owe my great fortune?”
He shrugged. “I have a thing for cheerleaders.”
Your jaw dropped. “Wait, are you serious?”
He laughed. “No, not at all. But I saw you from the stands and wanted to get to know you better. So here I am.”
You couldn’t help the huge smile overtaking your face. Elijah Mikaelson wanted to get to know you?
“What about Jessica?”
He shrugged. “She’s a nice girl. Not really my type.”
“And I am?”
He huffed. “Am I not making myself clear? Shall I fetch a plane and spell it out in the sky for you?”
I shook my head, faux serious. “It’s nighttime Elijah. I’d never be able to see that.”
He snorted - actually snorted. It was the most adorable thing you might have ever heard.
“You’re a minx, and you know it. Now agree to go to dinner with me.”
“Half price burgers at the grill?”
He smiled wryly. “No, that won’t do. I’m a full price kind of guy. I need candles, roses, the whole chair pulling out thing. Carlo’s. Friday night. Eight o’ clock.”
Carlo’s was like, ridiculously nice. And expensive. “But that’s-”
“It’s what?” he challenged. “Because if you’re suggesting I can’t afford it…”
You shook your head. “No, of course not. I’m sure you can. But I can’t!”
Faster than you could even fathom, Elijah was backing you up into the side of your car, his hands locked on either side of you, face inches away from your own. His eyes were dark and bore into you, making your palms begin to sweat.
“I’m not in the habit of taking women out on dates and having them pay.” His breath fanned across your face. Your eyes flickered down to his lips, and you shivered. His presence was intoxicating.
“Have I made myself clear?” he asked, and damn if that question didn’t excite you. You nodded, your breath hitching, and he leaned even closer to you for a moment before pushing himself away.
“Good!” he declared, and once he backed off, he took a moment to rake his gaze across your body. Your uniform did little for the imagination, and you were kind of thankful.
“See you soon, Y/N.” He called sweetly, shifting from domineering to polite so quick you had whiplash. You watched him go, a dopey smile on your face.
“Wait!” you called. “Do you want my phone number?”
He paused, then reached into his pocket for his phone. He typed for a moment, then locked the screen and placed it back in his pocket.
Your phone dinged.
Tell Bonnie I said thank you.
You smirked. Of course Bonnie had given him your number. You'd have to remember to get her a thank you gift.
As you started your car and got ready to go, movement from the car behind you caught your attention in your mirror. You struggled to see clearly what it was, but when you did, you were shocked.
There, in the pickup truck Rebekah Mikaelson had gifted him, was Matt Donovan making out with her brother Kol.
You laughed all the way home, imagining the look on Rebekah’s face when she finds out.

stefan salvatore male reader where the reader is Caroline's" brother " where he fell in love with Stefan but he only had eyes for Elena but they became friends and when stelena reações the end Stefan and the reader has his chance, from friends to lovers (Stefan has feelings for him and everyone noticed) the reader is a heretic and was transformed by Katherine along with his sister.
Things were never the same for Y/N Forbes when the handsome and mysterious Stefan Salvatore came into town. He was the new guy that everyone wanted, especially his sister, Caroline. His sister was known for getting any guy that she wanted, so to see Stefan reject his sister for Elena Gilbert was surprising.
Y/N tried to make nice with Stefan in a non-homoerotic way during football practice. Stefan was making it very hard not to pop any boners when he looked so good in his football gear. Then Stefan's older brother came into town. Damon was the bad boy with blue eyes and leather jacket, and even though he was very sexy, he was too much of an asshole for Y/N's taste, but not for his sisters.
Little did Y/N know that Damon was using and abusing his sister. Using her for sex and for her blood as a vampire. Something he wouldn't understand until later on as he and Stefan were just friends as he watched in suffering silence.
Although there was one time Y/N got into his mom's whiskey and he drunkenly called Stefan and invited him over to his house to sleep with him, but Stefan set the record straight. "Y/N, you're a really cool guy, but you and me, it's not gonna happen."
Y/N tried not to feel hurt by that, but he understood. A couple of months later he and Caroline were in a car crash with Matt and Tyler as Damon gave them some of his blood, and Elena for some reason killed them by smothering their faces with pillows.
That's when Y/N realized that he was turned into a vampire, more specifically, a heretic. He never knew about his witch side, and apparently he somehow activated his genetic maker as a siphoner to become a heretic. That's when Stefan taught him to control his bloodlust and suddenly all those feelings of hurt and anger for the older vampire were replaced by an intense fire of rekindled love.
And with threats like Katherine Pierce and the Originals trying to find the Doppelgänger aka Elena Gilbert. Y/N was going to be used as a sacrifice for Klaus's curse breaking ritual, but instead, Elena's Aunt Jenna was killed instead. Later on, Elena was turned into a vampire as she realized that she was having feelings for Damon, and soon they were broken up.
That's when Y/N decided to help Stefan. Be there for him. As a friend, but perhaps this was his chance as they shared a dance at senior prom. "Then how does anyone ever seem to move on?" Stefan asked as he spun Y/N in a circle.
"I don't know. I think someday you'll meet someone new... And fall madly in love. And you'll have moved on without even realizing it." Y/N said, as they looked into each other's eyes.
And from then on, Y/N and Stefan were close as close can be. Especially, when Y/N thought he was gone forever after he was killed by a traveler inside Tyler's body. That's when Y/N decided to tell Stefan that he was still in love with him. "Stefan, I realized something about myself when I thought you were gone. I realized that even though you said that we could never happen, I just wanted to let you know that I've always been in love with you. And I don't understand how Elena could let an amazing person like you slip through her fingers and–"
Stefan cut him off with a kiss as he looked at him and smiled. "Y/N Forbes, I think I've liked you from day one. I just couldn't admit it to myself that Elena and I were over, but I think I want you instead. I guess a part of me always did."
They kissed once again as everyone was either happy for them like Caroline, or unhappy like Elena.

WIP WEDNESDAY
Rewriting what was the old chapter 22 of TBBW (1920s Dance, Woo Woo!) and the last half, the klaroline half, has become a chapter all on its own. It's really building up to be one of my favourite chapters in the entire fic, and it's partly because I read @kirythestitchwitch's Crash Course which made me crave a cheeseburger so badly I wrote it into this fic. So here's a sneak peak --- don't let the fluff fool you, this chapter has its fair share of angst hehehe
“You know, I’m really surprised you didn’t insist on paying,” Caroline commented, unwrapping the paper around her cheeseburger as she settled back on the bonnet of Klaus’ car.
Klaus sat beside her, unwrapping his own burger as he stretched his legs out in front of him, one leg hanging off the side and resting on the upwards curve of the rim that snaked above the front wheels. Caroline leant back against the glass of the windscreen, relaxing into her spot as the sweet, steaming smell of the burger hit her — two seasoned patties topped with melted slices of creamy, cheesy goodness calling out to her from their package in a perfectly toasted, soft sesame seed bun, stuffed with crisp, curly lettuce and slices of fresh tomato. Up above, the light pollution from Mystic Falls was less intense so far away from the town, parked outside a quiet diner just off the Jackson highway. The stars were beginning to peak out from behind the clouds, the moon a quarter-full and shining down on them from the night sky above. Behind them, the warm glow of the diner spilled out onto the parking lot, employees wiping down tables and serving the odd exhausted truck driver behind the glass, like one gigantic, square-shaped fish bowl. The neon lights of the diner’s name, Wayback Burgers, flashed and flickered in the dark, reflecting red and blue light onto the wet pavement.
“And why’s that?” Klaus asked, licking his thumb where the various condiments and sauces had leaked out of his large, triple stacked bacon cheeseburger and onto his hand. She’d felt weird ordering him nothing at the drive thru after she’d asked for the cheeseburger and fries, impulsively buying a milkshake to wash it all down with too. So she’d turned to him and asked if he’d wanted anything, and with some hesitancy, he’d ordered one of the meatiest burgers on the menu.
It was weird. The choice prodded something in her brain, seeming familiar. It was only when they got their burgers, Klaus eyeing his with a hunger that looked out of place on a vampire, that she realised why.
Tyler always ordered the meatiest thing on the menu too. Burgers, ribs, steak, chicken wings — it didn’t matter where they bought lunch, if there was an option to eat like a hungry pack of hyenas, he’d take it. Klaus had slightly more decorum, but the look was exactly the same.
“I don’t know. Aren’t you supposed to be ancient?” she shot at him, setting the wrapping in her lap and taking her first bite of her burger. She sighed in bliss the moment the taste hit her tongue — it was truly a magnificent burger. The patties were seasoned to perfection, falling apart in her mouth, cheese melted onto them. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh but not soggy, and the pickles buried beneath it all had an acid tang that balanced the whole thing out. “Old people are always moaning chivalry is dead,” she finished, holding a hand up to cover her mouth as she spoke around her food.
“And I seemed like the type?” he asked, glancing at her with a raised brow. His voice dropped to a dry drawl. “Why? Because I’m old or because I’m dead?”
She grinned, cheeks full of food. “Both,” she informed him happily, before chewing the last of it and swallowing. Klaus grunted, finally taking a bite out of his burger. Like her, he seemed to melt into the taste, some of the tension in his shoulders easing. She shrugged, eyeing him consideringly before turning her gaze back to her burger, folding down the wrapping. “Most guys get weird when I offer to pay.”
Tyler normally did. Matt had. Since both boys were on opposite sides of the financial spectrum, she kinda figured it wasn’t because of the money.
He looked at her then, searching her face for something. He swallowed his food before he spoke. “Did you want me to pay?”
She shook her head. “No. It was my idea to drag you out here. And you’re giving me a lift home after my car broke down even though I’ve rejected you like, a bajillion times. Least I could do was buy you a burger,” she teased, smile strained.
They hadn’t spoken about it, on the drive here. This thing between them; his jealousy towards Tyler and cruel actions earlier that night; the dozens of hesitant advances, if unwanted on her part. They weren’t friends.
Problem was, Caroline wasn’t sure if they were enemies either.
Enemies didn’t show each other their personal artwork or unfinished sketches that were hidden away from even their family’s prying eyes. Enemies didn’t sit on a public bench and discuss lost dreams. And they certainly didn’t buy burgers at drive-thrus and eat them together under the starlit sky.
Klaus sighed, but didn’t seem offended. “I don’t think it was quite a bajillion times.”
“Yet,” she corrected cheekily, taking a big bite into her burger.
Instead of the scowl she expected, Klaus smiled fondly, following her lead and taking a bite too.

Tumblr media
a/n: watching tvd for the umpteenth time makes me more obsessed with stefan so here's another one shot. it's also inspired in one of my fav stydia (teen wolf) scenes.
warnings: inappropriate language, mentions and/or descriptions of blood, injuries, death, anxiety, panic attack. some details may not be 100% accurate. english is not my first language. not my gif!
stefan salvatore x afab!reader.
summary: you are attacked by the katherine pierce and your worries and fears manifest in the way of a panic attack, but stefan comforts you in a very unexpected yet unique way.
🚫do NOT copy, translate or put my work thru an AI.
You got up startled and breathed heavily. Your eyes took some seconds to adjust to the lack of light in your room. Well, to be more precise, the room you had been occupying at the Salvatores’ Boarding House for a couple of weeks now. You took a glance at the clock on the nightstand: 3 A.M. Cursing to yourself, you laid down on the bed again. You hadn’t had any decent amount of sleep since the Masquerade Ball; the night you’d thought it was just about going out with your friends, but it ended up being a truly near-death experience. And obviously, your brain chose the quiet and lonely nights to make you revive all those memories.
Caroline, your closest friend, has tirelessly begged you and your group of friends to go to the Masquerade Ball at the Lockwood’s Mansion. She had recently begun dating Tyler so she wanted to make a good impression on his parents by taking all of you to the charity event that they were organizing together with the Founder's Council.
“Say again, please, how could I, that I’m not part of the Founding Families, help you look good in front of your boyfriend’s parents?”, I questioned her while we got our coffee cups from the counter at this new small shop that opened near our school.
“Well, Tyler, Stefan, Damon, and Elena have to go due to the obvious reason, Bonnie has accepted and Matt can’t make it due to his work shift. I don’t want you to feel left out”, she casually replied before giving her coffee a sip. “Besides, the more people I bring, the better the Lockwoods will look in front of other powerful families thanks to me!”
I’ve never understood how Caroline math works.
“Care, don’t worry about me. No offense taken. I have no problem with staying at home, eating pizza, watching a mov..” My speech slowed down as she frowned at me. “I’m not getting out of this, am I?”
“Y/N, you know I don’t take a ‘no’ for an answer. Come on! It will be so much fun!”
Little did she know…
You were on the dancefloor with your girl friends, Caroline, Bonnie and Elena, moving your bodies to the beat of this new party song. You were having a really good time. Of course, you’d never admit that to Vampire Barbie (as Damon often called her) because that will surely give her a free pass to drag you to any social event in Mystic Falls.
Speaking of Damon, he was at the Ball too. And so was Stefan. You’d spotted them leaning against a wall, drinking something and chatting among themselves. Your eyes rested on the youngest Salvatore for longer than you may have liked it, but you couldn’t find the strength or the willingness to look away. The black suit he was wearing made him look more handsome than he already was. You had a big crush on him since the day you met, but obviously you haven’t made any moves on him because of Elena. Now that they’ve broken up because she took a bigger interest in Damon, there might be some chance for you.
At some point his eyes found yours and he gave you a sweet smile. You gave him one of yours but then instantly looked away because you didn’t want him to know you were blushing. Probably he couldn’t tell because of the distance, but still. You excused yourself to your friends so you could go and talk to him. Any interaction with him would make coming to the Ball, wearing this long dress and these uncomfortable heels totally worth it.
Suddenly, while you were making your way towards Stefan, the power went off and silence took over the place for a couple of seconds. The people around you started to murmur, asking themselves what was going on. You tried focusing on what you managed to hear so you could find any of your friends and leave the mansion. A horrible sensation took over you.
As you were about to take your phone off your purse to turn on the flashlight, you felt a sharp pain throughout your abdomen and let out a muffled scream.
That’s when the lights were switched on again and you saw what it seemed like a butcher’s knife piercing your middle section. You heard several screams from the people around you and how they started running away. You were losing tons of blood but you couldn’t move due to the shock. You also saw the person who had stabbed you. Elena? No, that couldn’t be true. Physically, it was her; her exact same face. But the clothes were different and there was something in her eyes that wasn’t there before. Evilness.
“An early birthday present for you, Y/N. Enjoy”, she said grinning and then exited herself with supernatural speed.
What the fuck?
You couldn’t think about anything else as you felt all the energy being dragged out of your body and collapsed to the ground. Luckily, before your head hit the floor, somebody caught you in their arms.
“Y/N”, you heard Stefan’s desperate voice. He removed the knife and gave you his blood to heal you. You drank it but the injury was far deeper than what a little of vampire blood could cure, so you were struggling to keep yourself awake. It seems he could sense it as well so he grabbed your face and tried to make you focus on him. “No, no, don’t close your eyes. Look at me!”
You gathered the almost non-existent strength you had to obey him but you could feel yourself blacking out.
“I can’t. Sorry, Stef…” that’s all you could manage to say and he shook his head.
“Y/N, look at me, don’t fall asleep”, he interrupted you but his voice appeared to be more distant; as if he was talking from the other side of a tunnel. Although your vision was blurry, you saw a second pair of hands pressing something on your abdomen.
“Stefan, what do we do?” It was… Caroline?
“We need to get her to the hospital. We’re losing her.”
And then, pitch darkness.
You woke up at the hospital the following day. There was a bandage wrapped all around your abdomen and your mind was foggy. Flashes of the previous night events came and went. Caroline and Stefan knocked on the room door shortly after to see how you were doing. They gave you a ‘Get better soon’ card signed by everyone, including Damon. You could picture him doing it against his will with his typical frown on his face.
“Soooo, are you going to tell me what happened last night?”
“Y/N”, Stefan started talking. “Why don’t we wait until you feel better to give you the details?”
“But, I’m already doing better. Look, I’m not bleeding”, you lifted the sheets that were covering your body to show him your clean bandage. “And I’m also fully awake”, this time you raised your eyebrows.
He squinted his eyes, not fully believing the attitude you were giving him, especially while still lying on a hospital bed. You were spending a lot of time with Damon lately.
“Ok”, Caroline continued. “The one who tried to kill you was Katherine Pierce, Elena’s doppelgänger." You looked at her nodding, as if you understood that word. You had some googling to do as soon as you got home. “And you almost did, your heart stopped for some seconds but the paramedics brought you back with CPR.”
“Why would she do that?”
“We aren’t sure yet”, it was Stefan’s turn. “The strongest theory is that you were used as a distraction. Damon saw Katherine take something from the Lockwood’s mansion and ran away. We need to go back and check what’s missing.”
“That bitch. I’m gonna…”, you started getting up from the bed but Stefan quickly stopped you.
“You are not going to do anything other than recovering. Let us deal with Katherine. We’ll make her pay for this.”
After being discharged from the hospital, Stefan suggested you go live with him and Damon since being alone in your apartment wasn’t a good idea. This way, they could keep an eye on you in case Katherine or any of her minions made an appearance.
However, regardless of who is there to protect you, the atmosphere of paranoia and uncertainty, combined with your insomnia have led you to a dark place. You were so trapped in your own rthoughts that you didn’t realize that you sat up on the bed again and started crying loudly, therefore waking up Stefan.
“Hey, Y/N”, you jumped a little due to his sudden voice. “What’s wrong?”, he asked, sitting on your bed and then cupping one of your cheeks with his hand.
“Everything”, you chuckled despite the tears.
“Don’t worry, we’ll catch…”, you interrupted him. You were growing tired.
“I’m sorry, Stefan, it’s not that I doubt any of you, but Katherine… she is really smart. She has fooled us once and she can totally do it again… I’m…", you tried swallowing the lump in your throat. "I’m afraid to close my eyes and sleep because that way I won’t be aware of her coming in here and finishing me off.”
Stefan could actually see all these negative thoughts come in and out of your head. Your brain was like an engine. And your eyes looked like waterfalls due to your unstoppable tears.
“Or what if…", you continued. "What if I turn into a vampire?”, your breath became unsteadier ; you were panting, “What if I’m already turning into a vampire? You and Caroline… the other day… said I died but then came back. I had your blood in my system when that happened, right?” You were talking so fast that Stefan didn’t even have time to cut you off. “I don’t know, maybe someone secretly gave me human blood while I was sleeping at the hospital so I didn’t notice the transition. I can’t do this, I can’t. I…”, you took your hands to your chest as you felt the beginning of a heart attack.
“Y/N, please. Look at me", he cupped both of your cheeks with his firm hands and looked deeply into your eyes. "I need you to breathe with me. Focus on my voice”, he started inhaling and exhaling for you to copy him but it was a failing attempt. You were not paying any attention to him. Your panic attack was at its worst.
“I’m going to die”, you blurted out, with a trembling voice. You repeated that sentence over and over and over.
Stefan knew you suffered from anxiety but he didn’t imagine you (or has never seen you) like this. He mentally cursed himself for not previously asking you what to do in these situations. He tried the breathing exercise once again but it still didn’t work. He tried mentioning people and things you loved, happy things, so you'd rather focus on them, but it was also a dead end. You were absolutely trapped in your overwhelming suffering. He grew more desperate. Then, a quick memory flashed through his brain. He once read in a book that holding one’s breath may stop a panic attack. He didn’t think that covering your mouth and nose with his hand would work, so he crashed his lips onto yours. He didn’t know how you would react, but it was better than doing nothing.
Your eyes opened widely but then closed again. You were too shocked to do anything else, but still managed to enjoy the kiss. Slowly but surely, the storm inside of you died down. He was the one who pulled back after some seconds. You stayed frozen in your place, with a confused expression.
You wanted to ask him what that was for, but the words got stuck on your throat. Stefan seemed to read your mind.
“I once read somewhere that holding your breath could stop a panic attack”, he gave you a concerned but loving look. “And when I kissed you, you stopped breathing”. You stared deeply at him after his explanation.
“Did I?”, you added with a shaky and sore voice.
“You did”, he smiled softly, also lowkey shocked about how much he liked to kiss you.
You thanked him with a sincere whisper. You didn’t want to move yet, in case of breaking the spell. Of this being a dream and waking up during the best part. Your heart was still racing but now for a different reason. The good kind of racing. He also stayed there close to you.
He continued to ask you if you were feeling better; you nodded in response. Your cheeks flushed. He started getting up from your bed to give you some space but you didn’t want that. You wanted to be as close as possible.
“Stefan, wait… Can you stay with me, please?, you pouted. Your voice came off soft and innocent. “Until I fall asleep, at least”.
“Yeah, sure. For as long as you need.”
You smiled while you moved a bit to make room for him on your bed. He laid down, resting his back on the wooden bedpost and opened his arms, inviting you to snuggle on his chest. Once you did, he wrapped his arms around your back. Your legs were also tangled with his. The sound of his heartbeat worked as a lullaby, relaxing every muscle on your exhausted body. You felt the tension and fear melt away. Your now steady breath mixed with Stefan’s.
“Thank you for staying”, you told him, your voice was barely audible.
“Always”, he murmured while one of his hands played with your hair and the other one stroked your back gently. You could get used to this. A faint smile curved your lips as you thought to yourself: Bring it on, Katherine. I’m not afraid of you anymore. Well, you were a little bit. But with Stefan’s comforting presence, you felt you could overcome whatever evil plan she had for you.
Your eyelids started to feel really heavy with the weight of last weeks' worries. You were slowly drifting closer and closer to sleep. The last thing you recall is Stefan placing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Rest well now, Y/N. I won't let anyone or anything hurt you again. I promise”, he whispered although he was pretty sure you couldn’t hear him due to your finally peaceful slumber.
that's the end, my friends. i'd love to read some feedback :) and, of course, if you have any request, leave them on my asks <3

Tyler Lockwood discourse and “excuse” for how fans view him as worthless or unneeded is that his plotline ended in season 3/4 is so…wrong lmao. Tyler was not only the first introduction to werewolves/Lockwood legacy but he was Klaus’ first successful hybrid. But, no it would’ve been too much to center a plot on Tyler that has nothing to do with Caroline or Klaus. Tyler became an alpha, those hybrids trusted and respected him. Okay, then those hybrids were killed Tyler could’ve formed another pack. They can do more with wolf-related plotlines they just had to write those. Look at Hayley who was praised and worshipped as this werewolf Crescent Queen after she helped plot and kill those hybrids…but TO doesn’t acknowledge that ever. Supernatural world gossip spreads but that somehow never made it to the bayou…anyways…
The problem relies Forwood, Klaroline, Steroline and a bit of Klayley equally. Mainly Caroline and Klaus/Stefan’s popularity. Season 1/2 Caroline was ignorant as hell and disliked by most of her peers. Why? She always had something negative to say about everyone. Plus, her mental feud with Elena. So Caroline dates Matt who treats her terribly and isn’t over Elena. Then she’s placed with Tyler, she “changes” after this vampire transition. Forwood is equally new in being a vampire/werewolf. It’s easy to support them when Caroline is there as he transitions into a wolf. Shes not just this jealous raged teenage girl! She has feelings and emotions! Caroline’s sweet, caring, and protective these are reasons people should like Caroline. Most of time fans argue that Caroline was better as a vampire than she ever was as a human. Now, insert Klaroline and Klaus. Klaus gets to enforce power and control over Tyler. He enslaves him repeatedly, and constantly threatens his life. Tyler knows he can’t win against Klaus but he refuses to live by Klaus rules. Richard Lockwood, his abusive major daddy had already made his life hell by giving him standards to live by and abusing him.
Now this is getting long. But, Caroline gets to “see the good in Klaus” they get to have all these “moments” about nothing at all. Tyler isn’t there and unfortunately YES on Caroline’s end Tyler does look bad for being away but Caroline understood this and for awhile was the only person who got Tyler. Until, she didn’t the plot worked its way so we can uplift and praise Caroline in all her vampire girl-boss goodness! But, paint Tyler in a bad view. Klaroline was pulled out of the writers ass, there was no build-up and it’s often forgotten that Klaus intended to sacrifice both Caroline and Tyler but somehow someway Klaus is obsessed with this baby vampire lmao. But, “Tyler doesn’t love Caroline! He’s never there.” It’s not that Tyler didn’t want to be there, he was being treated like a slave. If the writers really and truly wanted to push Klaroline they could’ve done so without using Tyler. He wasn’t around anyways so what would’ve been the excuse? Klaroline wasn’t the plan but mildly benefits from mistreating Tyler/Michael Trevino and Kat Graham but pen in that.
Tyler’s entire family dies and we see Caroline comfort him through Carol’s death which Tyler fully blames himself for. Caroline gets this until she didn’t. She places an ultimatum over Tyler’s head. He chooses to leave, and it’s even a bigger nail on the head for the fandom. Tyler’s trying to kill Hayley and Hope. Which is ignored that Tyler intended on saving the werewolves as a species because Klaus DID continue to enslave and pick up werewolves turning them into hybrids for his own gain. Caroline sleeps with Klaus Tyler’s pissed and tries to keep contact at a minimum. You have Stefan in her ear all the time making comments about how Tyler’s violent towards her and all around a terrible person. When Tyler never abused her. Klaus was even in Caroline’s ear making her think Tyler cheated when that was never the case.
Tyler was used and needed for Caroline’s development and heavily plays a huge roll in her popularity. But, she doesn’t give half of that for him. In fact Forwood/Klaroline/Klayley and Steroline all functioned as a death to Tyler’s character. More so KC & Steroline ruined what good foundation Tyler did have. If Hayley could be some werewolf queen in TO. Tyler could’ve been hailed as a king in own bloodline. He could’ve found another group of friends to see as family. Jackson is a very similar character to Tyler. Lastly, Michael Trevino said for years that Klaroline was/is the issue with Tyler’s development.
side note: i forgot to add I firmly believe Caroline remains jealous of Elena throughout the entire show and expected Tyler to act the way Damon/Stefan does when Elena did something that was “bad” in their POV.

Hey, love your posts and I hope we aren’t annoying with all of these asks!
What are your thoughts on Alaric Saltzman?
Not annoying at all! I love asks. I'm probably going to post anyway so asks just give me a direction to start talking in!
Alaric Saltzman is one of those characters who would have benefitted from staying dead.
Throughout TVD
He comes onto the show as this really great character. He's one of the few humans who knows about the supernatural world and is able to protect the teens better because of it. I love that he really becomes a parental figure to Elena and Jeremy. This time in TVD was really peak. I loved him and Jenna. I thought the conflict between Jenna not knowing plus Isobel coming back was so interesting. I really wanted Jenna to survive as a vampire and get to see that play out. All and all, I really enjoyed his character.
The storyline with the Gilbert ring was really interesting too. And how Esther was tied into it before even entering the show. But to me he should have stayed dead after he died when Elena died. It didn't feel like his character was ever as necessary again or as good. And this is coming from someone who loves him and Jo. But the whole "turning human from being saved in the 'no magic' zone" just seemed to go against the rules of the show. If it was that easy, we would see so many more people doing it. Also why wouldn't they have done it for Elena who desperately wanted to be human? I know she does enter it to get her memories back but they didn't have a doctor with her trying to save her. It just feels like they would have tried it on more people. Or what about Caroline? I know the fandom likes her better as a vampire, but she didn't even get a chance to want to be human again. I digress.
Where he starts going downhill for me, is really after Jo's death. Which is kind of understandable, but he just never recovers. After Jo dies, he goes on a spiral to try and bring her back. Again, understandable given how he lost her and the babies. I even like how gentle he was with the soul they accidentally put into Jo. But he's not really helpful to the plot at this point. If anything, he is the reason everything with the phoenix stone happened. He asked 20 year old Bonnie to get invovled, knowing it was dark magic and knowing Bonnie's history with dark magic. He was willing to risk her sanity and safety to bring back Jo. He never even apologized for it at any point. I get he was desperate, but this just highlights the rest of his character throughout TVD and Legacies. He is constantly willing to do anything to keep himself safe. It's almost like he thinks less of supernatural creatures. Like they don't deserve his consideration.
This is shown with how he treats Caroline throughout the pregnancy and after the twins are born. The fact that he doesn't even really consider what sacrifice it is for Caroline. She puts her life on hold to have his children, risking her life, and then even more after they are born to help him raise them. And then when it gets too hard, he wants to take them away from her, claiming they were never hers. I get he wanted to get them out of harms way, but they are siphoner witches, they are inherently supernatural. He wanted to remove them completely from the supernatural world with no way to teach them. I also just try to block out any type of romantic relationship between Alaric and Caroline. This was clearly just forced by the writers to cause conflict. It was clear neither of them really were into it.
I feel like in the last season we get a little bit of early Alaric back. We get to see him working with students again. But again, this easily could have just gone to a new character.
Throughout TO
His role in TO made near no sense. I've said it before, and I know I've seen others talk about it. But it would have been great for Tyler to be invovled (I think he was dead already, but his death was pointless and shouldn't have happened). It could have been anyone helping Elijah and Marcel find the Hollow bone. It would have made more sense for it to be a supernatural being considering how important the mission was. Everyone makes fun of Matt for surviving, but seems to be okay with Alaric surviving as long as he did when he's actively putting himself in these situations.
The only reason he was brought onto TO was to talk about Legacies. Again, ignoring plot to promote the next project.
Throughout Legacies
Alaric taking over a magical boarding school has to be the dumbest plot throughout TVDU. How is everyone alright with two humans (him and Dorian) running a school for magical beings. Again, I have not seen Legacies, but I've been told that he puts misbehaved students in a prison world?? Also the fact that Hope nearly kills him. They needed to have a supernatural person running the school who, first knew what they were going through, and two had the ability to protect the students and the school. Alaric's protection was throwing his teenage students at the monsters and hoping for the best. It's sad because most of these kids are there because they don't have anyone looking out for them, so Alaric takes advantage of this. He was supposed to be the one looking out for them.
The fact that the fandom all agrees that Hayley, Elijah, and Klaus were killed in TO because they never would have let the plot of Legacies happen shows just how bad it was.
And every scene I see with Alaric talking to Hope is just him reminding Hope of who her father is. How is that helpful? Children are not their parents and behavior doesn't function that way. If anything, he had more influence over Hope than Klaus since he was with her throughout her life more. I get Alaric's anger against the Mikaelsons and specifically Klaus, but he was the one that lobbied for Hope to come to the school. He told Hayley he would protect her. It breaks my heart that Hope felt like she didn't have a piece of her mom because she was turning into her dad. But with Alaric telling her that every five minutes no wonder.
I will also never get over how he treated his children. I know Lizzie stans tend to hate Josie because of how she responded to Lizzie's mental health, but that's learned behavior. Josie is a teenager and we see (I think) throughout Legacies, that she and Lizzie get closer and do better. From one of the early episodes I did watch, I remember Alaric is outside training Hope (we never see him train his own children) and Josie comes out and makes a snide comment about Lizzie. Alaric doesn't correct it or anything. He just goes and calms Lizzie down. But how is Lizzie not on medication or seeing someone regularly. They have a witch counselor, but for the most part it doesn't seem to be helping her. I don't blame the students or Josie for not knowing how to handle Lizzie because it's clear that it is learned behavior from Alaric (and even Caroline) not knowing how to handle Lizzie.
Also, Matt Davis being the worst and yet JP et al. kept inviting him back?? It just shows how toxic the set was. I wish they would have overhauled and got a new creative team before Legacies to protect the cast, but that wasn't the networks priority. It's a big reason I don't stream anything in the TVDU or anything JP has worked on.
Thanks for the ask! Never feel bad for asking! If I don't have time, I'll just get to it later <3

I know I will so come over as a hater but I fell like you don't write Caroline as she actually is. Your absolute right how overdramatic she is and stuff, but she is deeply insecure. Becoming a vampire highened all of her characteristics and it was her thing that she was a so insecure that she regular was mean to her friends, degraded people and was unhappy with herself. I think that people get wrong so bad that she had a huge character development, because she didn't. She had some serious problems with narcissistic behaviour. Don't get me wrong she's funny and not a terrible person. But she gets victimised so fucking bad, by the fandom and by herself. She treated everyone so horrible, especially the people that were the best to her. This fandom is so good at ignoring stuff. I just found it weird that she was so super nice to Y/N. She is nice to her friends but she is the exact same amount shit to them. She never degraded her before and that's very unlike Caroline. It's her thing that she is disrespectful on top and doesn't tolerates people's behaviour if she doesn't like it, she is very opinionated and has no feeling for it or doesn't care how disrespectful she is being. If Caroline has an option, everyone shhould hear it. I feel the same with Hayley, both characters are very likeable, that's why everyone ignores their toxic traits, different than from for example Damon or Katherine, it's like people don't see a toxic personality if it's not rubbed into their faces. Hayley actually had a character development, it's not as much as I would have liked but still good. Hayley let 12 Hybrids get murdered for her advantage. Tyler was her friend and he was there for her and she betrayed him so terrible that Klaus even killed his mom. The problem is that people don't want their favourite characters to do bad things so the make excuses. "Hayley was young and easy to manipulatie" Hayley was 20 years old and not a little 10 year old and lived on her own since she was 14. I get that she was desperate, but it was still cruel. She used Tyler and let people of her own kind get murdered because she wanted information. Hayley and Caroline are both self centred girls. I'm not saying that they don't have a reason or something but that's what they are. Even after hayley got Hope, she still reckless murdered for her, on one hand it makes her a good mother, but she did just like the other Mikaelson everything for her family, not caring who dies for her. I think she should get the same amount of respect or hate for that as for example Elijah. I just ask you to write Hayley a little more realistic, she mabey would befriend Y/N but she would betrayed her, just like Tyler (who she even had a crush on) for her sake, and she would probably do that with Y/N too. Also please, of we are honest, Caroline will love Elijah and Y/N but she would not shout her mouth about Klaus. She doesn't care how public they are, how mean it sounds or who hears it (think of the second miss mystic falls), she would tell her how disgusted she is and that Y/N should be ashamed. And this is absolutely no hate, I love your story and I actually think that your by far the best one to write Caroline but the thing that makes her really her is just missing in my opinion.
So I’m not exactly sure how to answer this other than that I like how I wrote Caroline. This is a fictional story with an added character so obviously things are not going to be canon and I’m sorry if some of you guys don’t like that but that’s how I’m writing it

I watched seven seasons of vampire diaries well half of season 7 .. close enough.
. Caroline /Katherine Pierce were my fav girls. . caroline had a major glow up/ plus her hating DAMON is valid and its so shitty she had to apolgize for tlaking shit about him in s4 cause elena was sirebonded and it made her upset.. s1 elena would never..
Katherine was just fun.. and intriquing your left wondering does she care about anyoen but herself? i think she did like stefan.. and him giving her a happy dying dream was very sweet no wonder she want stefan.. He's a nice guy at his core.
Stefan/Tyler were my fav boys. I really liked Stefan when he embraced vampirism too he was fun.. and from what i saw of paul thats actually closer to pauls snarky personality ..
Stefan/elena now him stalking her creepy as shit.. butohwell
i think they were actually close to Girl can fix boy but done better than delena for the 3 seasons.. i think elena brought out the best in stefan while damon brought out the worse in elena.. plus what the heck was the sire bond about? thats not epic love that just weird. .
delena maybe could work if he hadn't kill her brother.. but .. sometimes.. i got sib vibes from them. whenhe wasn't beeing creepy anyway.. but he also never really respected her choices or her boundaries .
i felt the writers kept him grom growing too..
as much as i detested damon he got so many good JOKES.. I met a squirel he asked me my name today i told him it was joe that lie will haunt me forever. ..
adored him with Bonnie Ian/Kat chemistry was amazing its acutally interesting knowing he dated nina they broke up and boy did it show in the show cause the chemistry died down after that break up ..
least fav was ENZO im glad STEFAN killed him but im annoyed he was dating Bonnie cause when did he even talk to bonnie? plus he was just so annoying with how he kept trying to ruin stefans life ..
bonnie had the best chemistry with damon and the Heretics i was rather bummed they killed off the lesbian herietics. .. julie/caroline plec suck so those ships could never happened.. cause bonnie/one of the lesbian girls i forget her name but i rem thinking i dig this chemistry with them..
julie/caroline these two women were def living through delena the way they treated it as epic l explains why it was so bad
.. what interview with vampire got right was how to write toxic romantic relationships vd got it so wrong. it also helps louie was 33 a full ass adult man so its not creepy vamps flirting with teenagers.. i learned the guy playing matt was shitty to kat so thats a bummer cause i did enjoy matt/caroline for what it was.. and the alaric guy i heard him talk in intervies and he gives me the creeps.. but how he mentions the idea of dating bonnie.. i wonder if he pitched alaric dating caroline. either way whoever came up with that ship is a FREAK.. cause.. That's HER TEACHER/ Elenas sorta Father figure 40 year old 17 year old .. no thank you.
Stefan/caroline could have possibly worked but it felt like stelena 2.0 .. i did vibe with their joker/harley no humanity plot for a bit.. i
shipped matt/caroline/caroline tyler/ now klaus .. he like killstyler/ nearly killed caroline/ drowned tylers mom i dont think it was ic for her to have anything more than maybe Pity for the lonely hybrid.. and i dont mind them as friendish.. but man how tyler/caroline end is bogus and ooc ...
..id say after ep 3 of s4 elena is also ooc because of that damn sire bond..
the show is best ended at s4 ep 1 but i was a glutton for punishment i went on till s7..

Thought on 5x12 - 5x22 welp what a nose dive in quality that took! Not that the beginning of the season was great writing but at least I was having fun, this not so much. There's stuff I liked of course, the Steroline build-up is great and they got some beautiful scenes. I love Liv and Luke and the finale was awesome (this and Katherine in 1x22 were the best cliffhangers they ever did). The problem is the bad parts all outweighed that. I cannot STAND Enzo and this is the worst Damon has ever been which is saying a lot. Every DE monologue made me groan and the travelers are probably the worst villain this show ever had (Markos wasn't terrible though, he fit the description). But I made it, and you can read me bitching about it below!
5x12
I really hate how they used Caroline having sex with Klaus to somehow make her come around to DE because now she knows what it's like to "want the bad guy" RME! Caroline sleeping with Klaus was about her taking an opportunity to get him to leave her alone and have an itch scratched. Damon is still her rapist.
Katherine’s face at the KC sex reveal LMFAO she’s dying inside.
Honestly Stefan punching Tyler has a lot more to do with him not liking Tyler and less to do with him thinking Tyler was in the wrong. Do I think Tyler deserved to get punched absolutely not, Caroline needed to leave him the hell alone! But I’m not Stefan and I like Tyler and think he’s allowed to be really fucking angry at Caroline for awhile.
What Katherine said to Damon as Elena is exactly what Elena SHOULD say to Damon but never does.
The switch from “I want Stefan Salvatore” “Well I’d hate to be the person standing in your way” to a shot of Caroline is absolutely intentional. This scene is also adorable and say what you want but Stefan is absolutely flirting here, especially when he's like "I have no idea what Klaus saw in you, what was he thinking!" because he knows EXACTLY what Klaus saw in her!
5x13
Caroline leave Bonnie alone! She does not need to be single-adjacent she has suffered enough.
“Come on Damon, you’re better than this” he’s really not though Stefan! He’s pretty consistently been awful this whole show.
LMFAO there was a definitely a lot of foreshadowing that Stefan was gonna kill Enzo.
Caroline looks so hot and gorgeous in that dress and the way her hair is clipped *faints* no wonder Stefan checks her out. There's also a few moments where the wind blows her hair and she just looks stunning. Bonnie looks smoking hot too, I love her bob and the lace on her dress is super sexy.
Katherine’s eye roll at the dramatics of Damon kidnapping Jeremy and needing to show her concern for Jeremy... honestly same, this is a stupid ass plot. I do appreciate that Katherine knew to be worried about Caroline if she has feelings for Stefan. Like Damon is a moron so dispatching him was easy but Caroline, she’s gotta know what she’s up against.
EL OH EL the framing is so funny though how Caroline keeps popping up every-time Kathlena gets a moment with Stefan. And he looks guilty AF when she opens the door. Caroline also looks so good standing in the doorway with her little turn.
5x14
Caroline you know damn well the good news is that we might get to kill Damon, not the bad news.
Ugh Stefan is totally jealous of Tyler this show is so stupid you had the perfect love triangle set-up and you BLEW IT! FOR ENZO! I mean Stefan really? Acting like Tyler was gonna kill Caroline, please he knows that wasn’t going to happen. He just doesn’t want Caroline to go back to him because he’s totally crushing on her and refuses to see it!! He’s the same as Caroline because his bad news was actually good news for him.
Uh we don’t all love Matt Donovan Katherine, okay. Some of us have wished for his death every season. Words matter.
I appreciate Stefan pointing out Elena has never cared about Damon doing horrible shit before, and that’s like his first clue something is off.
Katherine asking who Stefan loves more Damon or Elena, girl don’t play that stupid game! You are only gonna win stupid prizes! Katherine should also know better than this, she knew Damon was the key to saving Stefan in 3x09 because she knew he wouldn’t let Damon die even with his humanity off. It feels like the show is doing that thing again where they make characters dumber than previously shown for the plot. Maybe you could say Katherine was off her game because she became impatient, but like she didn't survive for 500 years being impatient! DUH Stefan would do the most Stefan thing ever and put himself in danger instead of killing Damon, I mean what show have you been watching Katherine?
I love how domestic Steroline got in these last few episodes, Caroline made herself right at home at the Boarding house AS SHE SHOULD!
5x15
I love Liv lol.
You know I love LOVE Caroline but girl leave that man alone! Tyler needs space. While I agree about Caro monologue that people always expect good from her and she has flaws Tyler doesn’t need to forgive her and he really hasn’t been harping on her that much. Damon was right Caro took the nuclear option to end her relationship with Tyler. Even if I understand why she had sex with Klaus she still knew what it would do to Tyler.
I guess in retrospect Katherine was right, she made sure if she couldn’t have Stefan no one could.
I feel like the writers did a lot more damage to how they see Elena's character after the sire bond storyline than they realize. I don't mean that it ruined her character, I mean it ruined how they feel about her and how the inevitably treat her. This was a really fucked up thing to do to Elena, I mean she had complete autonomy of her body taken away for 3 (almost 4) episodes! That would have never happened in S1-3 because of how the writers felt about her, she was the special snowflake of human frailty MUST PROTECT. You can also tell by her styling, it's been off and on all season (especially the hair) as opposed to when she always looked stunning in S1-3.
5x16
CRYING at Elena’s “memories” and it's just her having fun in a bar dancing Iike a normal college girl and she’s like OMG the horror! What a loser!
“I wouldn’t lead you on like that” girl I- did you not watch yourself with Am!Stefan? That was 4 months ago!
Ah good Caroline is back to talking shit about Damon to Stefan, balance is restored.
Stefan just casually joking about having brain damage as his way of flirting, he’s so weird I love him.
THIS SCENE! When I watched this episode live I was ready to give up because I was so over the triangle of doom and straight-up not having a good time and then Steroline got these scenes in this episode and I was like OMG this is really gonna happen!?! When Stefan said "Me, and I would do it for you, too" he just confirmed that Caroline was up there with Elena and Damon for him aka people that he LOVES and Caro's face was my face like *tingle*. Then Caroline confirms the same when she says "You'd do the same for me right" and HIS FACE!!! He really didn't know she was so ride or die for him, and then his total jealousy over Enzo, I cry.
Damon and Elena are THE WORST my god. This is the stupidest dialogue I have ever heard on this show and that's only because it's second to their monologue in 4x23!
5x17
TOM AVERY TOO PRECIOUS FOR THIS WORLD
I’m sure Damon’s dialogue is supposed to be sexy but all I feel is rape-y.
God I absolutely LOVE the scene where Caroline can’t kill Tom and snaps Enzo’s neck instead! The way she reacts to Stefan is always more intense than any of her other love interests, sorry not sorry. She looked into those green eyes and remembered Stefan said he was a good person and the emotion from that meant she couldn’t do it.
Liv asking to be killed rather than listen to Damon and Elena, bestie I CAN RELATE!
Why are we doing with the Jeremy might be cheating on Bonnie subplot with Liv? Just so unnecessary MY GOD LEAVE BONNIE ALONE ALREADY!
The van scene is so <3333 I think it’s very obvious they both have feelings for each other in this scene. The way Stefan keeps looking at Caroline’s lips and the sultry voice he’s using *flails* and Caroline feels it too. I think this is the moment she realizes she’s falling for him. For Stefan I feel it started last season and it got even more confusing after his amnesia stint and this is probably the point where he starts pushing his feelings away because it's scaring him. He does not think Caroline has feelings for him with the way he talks about Enzo and her so for him it’s better to push it away than possibly ruin their friendship. Even if he’s such a dummy because OBVIOUSLY STEFAN she’s got a thing for you. I love them so much man, they just make me feel things!
Welp Bonnie hasn’t been tortured in like 3 episodes so of course we had to make up for that -_-
5x18
Oh man they even put Elena in her old S1/2 wardrobe and her straight hair is back! Totally gassing it up in these visions huh?
It’s amazing how interesting the traveler plot sounds with taking over MF like invasion of the body snatchers as opposed to how unbelievably boring it actually is.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before but I really don’t like Kol and I don’t know why I have to keep dealing with him.
Liv with her little sexy knife play, mark me down as scared and horny.
As someone who has watched the Steroline 8x02 proposal let’s just say A LOT, the Stelena vision proposal in 5x18 IS NOTHING LIKE IT YOU WEIRDOS. I mean the ring was in a drawer, that's literally it.
I did not remember that Vicki got sucked into Cade’s hell and IDK that’s a bit harsh show, Vicki did not deserve hell.
Turns out hell is every Delena scene this season.
The Stelena scene by the fire is an example of how the show uses nuance in scenes to keep ships alive depending on how you read into it. For me it feels like closure, they talk about how they grew apart and ending the spell kind of signifies that draw they felt has ended. However, you could say it shows they'll always love each other and now with the spell gone if they found their way back to each other it would be completely natural. YMMV.
I always thought "I think you can either be friends with someone or in love with them. I don't think you can be both" was such a (!!!) quote from Stefan since it shows you how he compartmentalizes people because he's a control freak. He puts the women he loves into these two categories from everything we've seen so far. Caroline and Lexi fit into the "friend" box, Elena and Katherine fit into the "in love" box and the two boxes do not mix. He moves Elena into the friend box now since he's not in love with her anymore, but the problem is Caroline. Unlike Lexi Stefan does feel more than friendship for her (he says it in 6x16 argue with the wall) but he can't mix the boxes! He doesn't think you can mix the boxes! He doesn't think you can have both. This line is a Chekhov's gun IMO he says it because we're either gonna learn it's true or it's not.
5x19
I was about to say how much of a loser is Stefan that he keeps helping Elena study but obviously he would not miss a chance to be pretentious so I get it.
Poor Tyler this is the beginning of his tragic downfall of the writers not GAF about him anymore.
Enzo on the other hand is A LOSER!
This episode might be rock bottom for me in terms of being boring and stupid. I would almost rather go back to a stupid DE monologue, ALMOST.
5x20
Oh it’s the Steroline first kiss cabin!
Hehe Damon called Bill Forbes a dickwad, sometimes I like you Damon I admit.
Caroline knowing right away that Stefan and Elena were being lying liars who lie, my BB has come so far in her ability to read people. And her idea to expose them is through charades because she’s always gotta have a theme!
I have no idea what’s going on with Jeremy, Tyler, Matt and Bonnie besides the fact that Bonnie deserves better. Always and forever.
“I didn’t want you to think any less of me” TINGLE!! When I saw this scene live I was like okay I give in I WANT ALL THE STEROLINE! Knowing full well it could still get used as a prop for SE but like I couldn’t help myself! He brushed the dirt off her cheek! He did the thing he always did with Elena where he only wanted her to see the good parts because that’s what this fool does when he’s in love! Truth be told I do not think Stefan is in love with Caroline here, I think he loves her as a friend but his feelings for her have become something more than friendship. Caroline however knows she’s falling in love you can see it on her face when he walks away.
The writing for Elena is very passive these past few episodes and it feels weird. Like she’s just there, she doesn’t move the plot or really do much but exist in the scenes they put her in. It’s such a stark difference to when she moved everything and everyone revolved around her. Oh well!
5x21
Omg Enzo if you didn’t want to be dead then why did you let Stefan yank your heart out. HE’S SO ANNOYING!
Stefan was so proud of that “if Caroline Forbes were here right now we’d both be laughing” joke. What a dork!
The anti magic spell was a good twist, and I like that it took awhile to get rid of.
Even Luke feels a tingle for the Stefussy!
Damon’s note LMFAO
Poor Caroline she had to see dead Stefan way too often. I totally forgot she didn’t snap Julian’s neck because she was afraid of getting bite again, poor BB had PTSD about that (thanks a lot Klaus *side-eye*)
5x22
LEXI!
CAROLINE MAKING MOVES! I told you nothing gets a reaction out of her like Stefan.
Ugh I hate this scene! Poor Tyler that was cruel and I hate that they de-powered him! I think de-powering for male characters on this show is basically a death sentence because the ‘verse works on hard power for men and once you lose that your days are numbered (unless you’re Matt Donovan).
No Lexi he doesn’t, because he’s a moron.
Bonnie that was obviously not Stefan lol but she’s going through a lot I will let it slide. Why does Silas want to be resurrected now! Everyone was so ready to die until they actually did huh!
“This is my choice and I need you to respect it” ASDSFFDHGFJKHG I am always here for making fun of that!
Bygones! Great Bonnie scene!
The last few Delena scenes have not made me think I’d rather be chewing glass so kudos.
BAMON 1994 ERA AND STEROLINE RENAISSANCE AWAITS!
Lines that made me laugh:
Damon: It's the obnoxious theme song of the travelers. (the chanting was ridiculous!)
Damon: Liv has a twin? Is it possible for there to be just one of someone around here? (he's not wrong!)
Enzo: Eh, it's probably the bedroom. Stefan's pretty vanilla, but apparently that's Elena's favorite flavor. (okay points for making me laugh but I doubt that’s true Stefan had crazy bitches crawling out of the woodwork for sexy Stefan time)

WIP Wednesday Week #19 - DW Crossover
So last week @impossiblekryptonitecolor asked if some nice things were going to happen to Caroline sometime soon. Well sorry Kit, this week is not that time, but Caroline is having a birthday party - sorry funeral, and reflects on some memories.
October 10th, 2010
The day had gone from good to bad to strange.  After all that she had been through recently (by which she meant the past few decades), her birthday just wasn’t the big deal her past self had made it out to be.  She had given everyone an excuse on how she was stuck in a filler year but in reality, she wasn’t turning eighteen, she was over 100 years old now.  Her birthday was just another day on the Gregorian calendar, no need to fuss over.
Stars, she was getting old.
Elena’s funeral idea was sweet though, Caroline hadn’t been expecting it. At least for the girl who had rarely set foot outside Mystic Falls.  And Tyler had done her a huge favour by ending things.  What should have been a one night thing has turned into a relationship, one that would never have had a chance to work once the sire bond had been revealed.  One bite from him and she was dead? They were much better off as friends.  That wasn’t even including what had happened at Homecoming: it wasn’t that she had wanted to see Mikael again, but Tyler didn’t have to vervain her.  For a so-called all-powerful hybrid, Tyler really couldn’t tell when someone was faking unconsciousness.
Men.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was it that she was saying about one bite and it was all over? Between one breath and the next everything changed.  One would think that at her age she would be able to hold her liquor better.  Perhaps she’d had one too many swings from the tequila bottle.  Although she had told Elena, Bonne, and Matt that she was delicate, the truth was that she was just horny, and Tyler was offering.  One more for the road and all that.
However, if he had thought they were getting back together before tonight, hopefully this made it clear that they weren’t.  As Caroline slid down the tree trunk that she was leaning against, her last thought was to call the Doctor.
Caroline went in and out of consciousness.  One of the only times she remembers surfacing was when Matt found her, picked her off of the forest floor, and carried her to his truck.  The next thing she remembers is getting to her mother’s house.  Every step that Matt took up the stairs and into the house is agony – the venom is spreading and her Mom is there and Caroline’s apologizing even though she barely knows why she’s doing it.  It’s getting harder to breathe.  She should have told Liz about the Doctor again, at least the Doctor would have more resources when it came to the inevitable bargaining with Klaus that would certainly happen.
Time passes. Seconds feel like minutes which minutes feel like days. She’s too hot and her skin is sweaty, and she feels gross. Although it isn’t the first time that Caroline has hallucinated, this occurrence is more terrifying because she knows how it ends. And it’s not going to be pretty.
Then, there he is standing in the doorway of her childhood bedroom.
There he is looking so freaking perfect as usual and she tries to give him a smile through the pain, but stops when she remembers that he has absolutely no memory of her.  She hides her laugh behind a scoff when he mentions his love for birthdays.  Caroline recalls celebrating the few that they had spent together.
In the peaceful times, when Mikael hadn’t found them yet and the castle walls had rung with their laughter.
So, when she says, “I don’t wanna die,” what she really means is I want to live, to keep fighting, to visit new places and times.
She hears his gasp as she bites down and can’t hold back her whimper.  “Happy Birthday Caroline,” Klaus says, and she wants to cry at the unfairness of him not knowing her.
In the morning when she wakes up, she touches her neck and is relieved when she finds it smoothed and healed.  Spotting a box on her nightstand, Caroline picks it up and recognizes the handwriting on the card as Klaus’.  When she opens it she finds, couched in velvet to her surprise, the diamond infinity bracelet Klaus had given her all those years ago.  She can’t help the astonished gasp that escapes her lips.

I want you to know that I don't support Klaroline because I believe that Klaus never truly loved Caroline. He was infatuated with her because he found her beautiful and admired her kindness and compassion, but what he felt for her was not love.
How can you claim you love someone when you constantly hurt them?
Klaus ordered Tyler to bite Caroline. He threatened to kill her. He stabbed her and then infected her with his werewolf venom. He did absolutely nothing until it was almost too late as she was painfully dying from his werewolf venom.
That's not love.
I'm not a Klamille shipper either, by the way. But I am not a Klaroline shipper and never will be.
I definitely see what you mean, but at the same time, it has been shown over and over time again throughout TVD (idk much about the originals because I have not watched that entire show) that Klaus do not know how to love people. And I compare that to his relationship with his siblings.
I know that deep down he does love his siblings, and yet, he daggers them whenever its convenient for him or if one of them interferes with his plans. I don’t know what his relationship with his daughter or Camille or his siblings in the Originals is like, but in TVD, Klaus SUCKS at loving people, even when he’s trying to. He lets his foolish pride and cruelty get in the way within his relationships. I do believe he loves Caroline, but he would’ve never shown it in its entireity because he doesn’t properly know how to. And sometimes it’s like that for people because love is enver shown the same for everyone, even if it’s in a toxic form.
Viewing Klaroline in a critical view, they are toxic for each other. Because of Klaus physically hurting her, and Caroline using him for her own personal gain or her friends’ gain. Most of the time whenever she’s being nice to him is to either distract him or to get something from him. The only time that I have seen them in a pure setting where they weren’t hurting eachother or using each other was at the Mystic Falls pagent in season 4. And even then, Caroline was practically forced to be his date lmao.
However, viewing their ship in another view, I could see the beauty in their ship, as well. If the writers really tried (or if TVD ended at season 4 and allowed Caroline to crossover to the Originals), I think they would’ve had an amazing growth and would’ve had a great storyline together. As I watch the show over and over again, a lot of the ships (probably all of them) had its flaws and were borderline toxic or should’ve never happened (maybe not Bonenzo, tho, they were great). The show is not particularly… “good” at handling their relationships, and that goes with friends too. But honestly, sometimes you have look deeper into the context that you’re given and kind of ignore the “bad writing” aspects of the show.

Tyler was drumming his fingers on the arm of the chair he was sitting in. Your living room was warm and the afternoon sun shone lights over the wooden coffee table in the middle of the room which made it a pleasant warm brown.
He was glaring across the room where you sat with your friend. He was visiting from out of town for a while and had already made the rounds to other houses. It was all Matt could talk about. Then, Elena, Caroline and Bonnie were all delighted that he was in town. Tyler had kept his comments to himself but watching him touch your arm and lean in a little too close made his temper bubble up to boiling. He suddenly stood and stormed out of the house. You excused yourself and ran after him, managing to catch up on the porch.
“Tyler? Tyler! What’s wrong?” You asked. Tyler let you grab his sleeve and turned to glare at you which made you frown in confusion as you backed up a little.
"Give me attention." Tyler said forcefully.
“Excuse me?” You said and waited for him to gather his thoughts as he rubbed his face in frustration.
“That guy is all over you! You don’t have a problem with that? Because I do!” Tyler’s voice was growing louder and you saw the curtain next to the front door move as you glanced away from Tyler and back at the house.
“So what? He’s a friend. Maybe I like them.” You muttered.
“Yeah! Well… NO!” He shouted and stormed off. He went and sat in his car, slumping down in the front seat as he groaned and realised how stupid he’d acted. It wasn’t as if you were dating him. He couldn’t really complain about you getting close to your friend. Glancing at the passenger seat he glared at the valentine's gift he’d brought for you. When you’d texted him to say your friend would be around the same day as he was, he'd left them in the car. Not wanting to feel embarrassed. Good job that did.

Hiya friend!! Here I am, bothering you with asks! Whereabouts in TVD are you now and did you get interested in any ships beside Defan? Also, whats your favorite Defan moment so far?
Thank you for the ask! I just finished season 4. I don't really ship anything else as much as defan, but I like Klaus/Caroline and I find Stefan/Klaus an interesting and somewhat homoerotic dynamic. Damon/Alaric is very good too, but more as a brotp though they have some romantic chemistry too. Klaus/Elijah has potential too. I like Caroline/Tyler, they're very cute, and I really think Caroline/Klaus/Tyler should just be in a polyamorous relationship. I'm rooting for Elena/Matt but that's less of a ship and more just something that I think would make most sense (though I do think Elena has the best chemistry with Matt even though she has very little chemistry with anyone).
Hmmm my fav Defan moment so far is hard! I loved the bittersweetness of the moment when Stefan and Damon were about to go to war together but Lexi told Damon he shouldn't go and Damon decided to put Stefan's wellbeing above his own missing of his brother 🥺 "Did you ever think that I needed my little brother" 🥺🥺 Also the one in first season where Stefan saves Damon from the fire is a great moment. Their fight scenes are also fun bc they're so sexual - WHY DO YOU ALWAYS GO FOR THE CHOKING AND WHY DO YOU NEED TO BE THAT CLOSE TO SCREAM??

WIP WEDNESDAY
Working on the 20s Decade Dance chapters right now and god, is it getting good. I think this klaroline scene is shaping up to be one of my favourite scenes yet...
Caroline smiled, leaning into Tyler’s hold. The song playing through the gym hall had changed, slowing to a soft, melodic number. Tyler’s right hand had drifted to her waist, the other holding her own hand, the two of them gently swaying across the floor, chests brushing each other. Tyler smiled at her, leaning closer, their foreheads almost touching.
Then something changed.
Tyler tensed, his whole body going rigid as he straightened his back, eyes darting around them, looking for something he had obviously sensed was there.
A worried frown gracing her face, Caroline asked quietly, “What is it?”
Tyler didn’t answer, head turning and finally locking onto something. Caroline turned her head and followed his gaze, stilling in his arms when she saw who was standing there, several feet away amongst the crowd, silently watching them dance.
Klaus was dressed in a sharp, tailored three-piece suit that put most of the other men’s outfits to shame. Caroline could just make out his pale blue chequered tie had a silver pin attached to it, no doubt as expensive as the rest of the ensemble, a golden silk handkerchief tucked into the front pocket of the jacket. A silver chain — attached to an authentic, 1920s pocket watch no doubt — could be just glimpsed behind the fabric of his jacket, disappearing into his vest pocket. His hair looked different from the last time she’d seen it too, combed and gelled back, taming the unruly dirty blond curls into submission.
His expression though — the sight made Caroline’s blood run cold. She’d seen a lot of emotions cross his face lately. She remembered clearly the ones that had scared her, the anger and fear that flooded his face when Kol had been daggered — the unbridled fury when Sam had attacked her. But this was nothing like that. His eyes were fixed on Tyler with an unwavering intensity that left her feeling an inexplicable amount of dread, his gaze flickering to where Tyler’s hand rested on her hip every few seconds. She couldn’t identify the emotion on his face this time. She couldn’t read him at all.
Then he stepped forward, approaching them slowly, moving with a predator-like grace. As ageless as their kind were, it was easy to forget what he was. He was powerful and he was violent, with more strength in his pinky finger than Caroline had in her entire body. But she had never thought he looked particularly intimidating — he wasn’t as tall as Damon or Elijah, his build thinner, more lithe. The youth still clinging to his face was equally deceiving and his stride was always so confident, so casual, she often forgot how old he really was. But as he walked towards them now — steps silent, body still, almost gliding across the floor — she finally saw the distinct otherness that clung to him like a shadow. The movement was a little too perfect, a little too practised. And the way his gaze stayed fixed on Tyler, steadfast in its resolution, calm and quiet in a way a vampire never was, often driven feral by bloodlust…
…Well.
It was almost… wolf-like.
“Where you been, mate?” he asked in greeting, a dangerous edge to his casual tone.
Caroline glanced back at Tyler, resting her gloved hands on his shoulder, offering her support. Tyler, to his credit, remained calm, even though her own heart hammered inside her chest.
“I just got back in town.”
Klaus’ eyes darkened, settling on Tyler and remaining there like a death sentence. “That’s funny. I don’t recall giving you permission to leave in the first place.”
Caroline felt Tyler’s grip tighten on her waist but he didn’t reply, standing his ground. Klaus stared at him for several more tense seconds before his expression loosened, lips curling into a friendly smile.
“You don’t mind if I cut in, do you?” he asked, taking another step forward so he was practically an arm’s length away from Caroline.
She gritted her teeth in response, turning out of Tyler’s arms and facing him head on. “Yes, actually, we do.”
For the first time, Klaus met her eyes. Whatever unidentifiable emotion that had flooded his eyes at the sight of Tyler dissipated the second their gazes locked, something relaxing in his stance. Then the moment was lost as his gaze shifted, turning on Tyler as he tilted his gaze down, a ghost of a smirk settling there.
The implied order was clear.
Tyler’s grip on her waist tightened again, enough that she tensed, before he finally let go, removing his hand entirely.
“No,” he said, causing Caroline to glance over at him in confusion. He gave a reassuring nod, before turning his gaze back to Klaus, stepping back. “It’s fine.”
Caroline felt anger flare in her heart, hating the way Klaus smiled upon hearing Tyler’s words.
She whirled on him to glare at his smug face, every line of her braced for a fight. “Why do you always have to prove you’re the alpha male?”
Klaus frowned at her, appearing highly offended. “I don’t have to prove anything, love, I am the alpha male.”
Caroline scoffed, shaking her head at his audacity. Klaus wasn’t deterred.
“Come on, one dance.” He offered her his hand, flashing a dimpled smile. “I won’t bite.”
Caroline’s eyes narrowed. Unwanted, her mind wandered to what Sam had told her about what blood sharing between vampires truly meant, and she realised Tyler would have no idea how much his statement was more flirt than threat.
She turned her head, looking back at her boyfriend. Tyler kept his gaze forward, refusing to look at her, playing the part of the obedient, sire-bonded hybrid perfectly even while his entire body stood stiffly with fury. Her heart sank and when she looked back at Klaus, he was still waiting for her hand. Reluctantly, she stepped forward, settling her fingers in his. She planned to keep her gaze averted, to refuse to look at him out of spite, but one accidental glance was all it took, their eyes meeting just for a moment, and Klaus smiled. It wasn’t the smirk he’d given Tyler, or the slightly sharp smile he’d used to invite her to dance — it was a real smile. A genuine one. The same smile he’d thrown at her when she’d called him disgustingly charming on that bench in the town square, or when they’d stood and talked in his studio about travelling the world, laughing at his cheesy lines.
It didn’t fit into her black and white view of him, didn’t fit with the man that had just silently ordered her boyfriend to back off and be a good, little hybrid. Caroline immediately looked away, following him without protest as he led her backwards to dance. When he stopped, his other hand settling respectfully on her waist, the warmth of it burning through her dress, she tried to relax in his arms, afraid he’d comment on how tense she was. He didn’t, thankfully. But out of the corner of her eye, she noticed his smile falter, his touch loosening, becoming softer, allowing her to move away if she wanted to.
“You would have loved the 1920s Caroline,” he began, breaking the silence between them when they had slowly begun to sway to the music. His voice was tentative at first, as if hoping to coax her out of the fortress she’d secluded herself within, before it grew more confident, evidently deciding to power on through. He leaned forward, breath ghosting her ear too close to be proper. “Girls were reckless, sexy, fun. They literally used to dance until they dropped.”
He spun her, chuckling at some memory he must be lost in, and Caroline kept her eyes fixed on a spot over his shoulder, refusing to look at him as she valiantly ignored how that accent did something to her.
“Don’t suppose that ever happened to their dance partners,” she muttered dryly.
This time, his smile didn’t just falter, but completely fell. Not in a dark, foreboding way, like when one his masks dropped, revealing the beast underneath. More in a I-thought-that-would-work way, because of course he did. God forbid Klaus Mikaelson not get what he wanted. Yeah, nice try buster, but you’re not as charming as you think you are.
He frowned, eyeing her as they swayed to the music. “Have I done something to upset you lately? You weren’t nearly as cross with me the last time we talked.”
She shot him a glare. “The last time we talked, your hybrid tried to kill me.”
His lips quirked up into that crooked smirk again and he leaned in closer, lowering his voice next to her ear as he tilted his head at her. “I think you and I have very different recollections of the last time we talked, sweetheart.”
Anxiously, Caroline’s gaze flickered over his shoulder, landing on Tyler still standing several feet away. His fists had clenched upon hearing Klaus’ words, eyes fixed dangerously on his sire. She swallowed. When her gaze returned to Klaus, he was grinning at her, his back to Tyler but no doubt entirely aware of the holes being burned into his head.
Anger, hot and blinding, flared in her chest and her fingers tightened around his hand in warning, her nails digging into his shoulder without even meaning to.
“Oh, really?” she said dryly, all her rage simmering under layers of eloquently delivered sass. “How would you remember it then?”
She’d intended the question to reveal the truth of the encounter — that dangerous temper of his that came out when Kol was daggered; the fear she’d felt as Sam turned on her, fangs and claws bared. But as soon as she opened her mouth, the spark in his eye made her realise she’d made a grave mistake.
“I remember you looked beautiful in the moonlight, so much so that I was struck by the urge to paint you right then and there, in the middle of the town square,” he said, so earnestly. Her eyes caught his and she froze, barely even aware they were still moving, gently swaying and turning in each other’s arms. “I remember how your pretty words were revealed to be little more than lies, a cunning act to distract me from your friends' foolish acts against my family,” he continued, a harsher bite to his words. He leaned in even closer, so their faces were barely inches apart and her heart hammered inside her chest, catching the dangerous glint in his eye as they flashed with fury. Then it was gone, as quickly as it appeared, his shoulders slumping with defeat. “And most of all, I remember saving your life despite every sense of logic dictating I should have left you to your fate.”
Caroline’s voice was hoarse when she finally spoke. Guilt tore uneasily at her insides. “Rebekah was going to kill Elena.”
“You should have told me that then.”
She scoffed, the sound full of derision, leaning away from him and breaking the spell that had left her paralysed. “Like you would have saved her.”
“I would have. If you had been the one to ask.”
His words, so very earnest and so very honest, caught her off guard all over again and she couldn’t help but stare, unable to say anything else. The worst thing was, she believed him.
God, she believed him.

So I posted little excepts from some fics that I work on as a warm-up when I'm struggling with Red Queen. There's a time travel one and a serial killer one. Neither of them have titles (well the serial killer one has a really campy working title but that doesn't count).
Anyway I'm bored, so here's the first chapter of the serial killer one. Lemme know what y'all think.
Chapter 1: Villain
It wasn’t that he intended to stalk her.
Even Klaus knew how incredibly fake that sounded, but really, he didn’t keep tabs on where Caroline Forbes was and who she was with at all times—just, you know, when there was clear and present danger in Mystic Falls.
Which was practically always.
Whatever. Niklaus Mikaelson, hybrid king feared across the supernatural world for centuries, was not one to show chagrin at the accusation that he had merely stalked someone.
He really wasn’t watching her on this particular occasion, however; he was just out for a walk to clear his head in the night air after a particularly useless day of Jeremy Gilbert being Jeremy Gilbert, and her street wound and turned back on itself and basically made for a longer route than its neighbors. He hadn’t intended to listen in on the goings on inside the Forbes residence either, but when he noticed the Sheriff's squad car was missing but Caroline’s car was present and the lights were on, he smiled a little, and tuned his ears in, wondering if she was listening to music or watching TV or on the phone with Elena hearing the “team good-guy” perspective of Jeremy’s day.
What he did not expect—and what took him a moment to recognize because it was so unexpected—was uncontrolled, shattering sobs. He frowned, crossing the lawn in an instant to hear more accurately. A moment more told him that not only had he heard correctly the first time, but it was indeed Caroline sobbing, and it sounded like she was wailing in pain around something that had been shoved into her mouth.
Images of unknown attackers and Caroline with a gag in her mouth blossomed crimson across Klaus’s vision, and he was inside the house and standing in her bedroom doorway before the ragged, stifled cry had ended. However, a millisecond’s scan of the room with his eyes revealed her to be completely alone, curled up tightly on her bed and rocking back and forth in distress, her own hand clamped between her teeth. Her face was a mess of makeup rivulets and puffy eyes—she looked worse than when she’d run to him in Tyler’s body, believing him dead and her boyfriend about to follow, and that was easily the worst he’d ever seen her, including the time she’d nearly died of werewolf venom.
“Caroline?” he found himself whispering, not sure what to do. Her head jerked up, and he barely had time to register the trickles of blood along her wrist from where she’d bitten through her own skin before she was on her feet, hands shoving him back. In his surprise, she caught him off balance, and he stumbled a little before regaining his footing.
“Get out!” she shrieked, her voice cracking painfully in the middle as she lashed out, punching him in the chest with about as much force as the average human who’d had too much to drink and was therefore unsteady to begin with. It didn’t hurt him, but he caught her fist when she drew her other hand back all the same. She screamed again—not words this time, just a primal shriek as she tried unsuccessfully to wrench her hand free, before successfully backhanding him across the face. He caught her second hand and sped her up against the wall, pinning her there as she struggled and tried to kick him.
“What the hell’s gotten into you?” he growled. Even in such a state, she ought to have had the sense not to physically attack an Original, especially a hybrid. Verbal barbs or slamming of doors he’d expect out of a distraught Caroline Forbes, or if she was going to attack him (for whatever blinkered reason) slightly more skill. Shifting forward, he leaned into her, holding her against the wall, impervious to her struggles. She thrashed in his hold, kicking at his legs and feet, but when he was about as responsive as stone, she gave up, and fell limp in his grasp, head down, face shrouded by her unkempt hair as crying became her primary focus again.
After waiting a few moments to ensure that she wasn’t faking it (only to whoosh away as soon as he loosened his grip) Klaus released her wrists, picking her up in the same instant. She fell limp against his chest, the last of her energy going into curling up into herself and pressing the heels of her hands into her watering eyes. For all her violent rejection moments before, now she seemed completely unconcerned about his proximity.
As he moved to return her to her bedroom and deposit her in bed—he’d signed up for rescuing her from attackers, not this, and for all his age and experience he’d never yet figured an effective way to deal with this—he assumed she’d simply given up on getting him off her. But when he moved to set her down, he realized that one of her hands had fisted into his jacket, tightly enough that she was stretching the leather. Perhaps giving up wasn’t quite it, he thought, as he maneuvered them so that he could sit down, then leaned back against her pile of pillows so that they were reclining with her only halfway on top of him. He did know enough to guess that no matter what he said or did, she would be unable to give a coherent response in this state, but he could be patient.
He’d wait her out.
And then she’d damn well tell him what was wrong, and point him towards who he could kill to make it right, whether she wanted to divulge or not.
The hysterics lasted nearly an hour, and after that, she seemed to lose energy, but continued quietly weeping into his shirt for over an hour after that. By midnight she’d apparently run out of tears, but she lay limp against him, face buried in his chest, and he got the impression she’d fallen into the twilight of half-consciousness. He’d started rubbing circles into her spine with his thumb, and some time after that, she’d released his jacket, although she hadn’t retracted her hand; it lay on his chest, her cold palm flush against his heartbeat.

Half past four in the morning appeared seconds after one, and Klaus realized to his shock that both he and Caroline had drifted off. He regained consciousness for long enough to confirm that she was, in fact, deeply asleep, and his arms were still resting securely around her such that if she tried to get up it would wake him.
Her hand was still resting against his chest, and to his mild confusion, it was still cold. While vampires didn’t generate as much of their own heat as humans—or wolves—they would still pick up heat from resting against warm objects, same as anything else. Slowly, not wanting to wake her and provoke another fit so soon, he wrapped her hand in his; long artist’s fingers picking up the telltale signs that he’d missed earlier. Her skin was unnaturally cold, and a little rough to the touch, with a subtle hardness which, coupled with how light and slow her heartbeats were, could mean only one thing—something he’d never expected to find in a vampire who wasn’t chained up and locked in a dungeon.
Caroline Forbes was beginning to desiccate; dry up and starve surrounded by blood-filled humans.
What the hell was happening?
He knew she had plenty of access to blood; Meredith Fell used her medical license to stockpile it on the Salvatores’ considerable dime, and the Sheriff looked the other way as long as Caroline was provided-for in the process.
So what the hell was going on? Had someone bled her out in the last 24 hours without him noticing? She did know to drink a lot after that, right?
His mind spun, inventing horrible possibility after horrible possibility, and he had to fight to keep his arm from tightening around her and waking her. His burning need to know who he had to kill to make it better intensified with each passing second. Caroline wouldn’t just stop eating of her own accord, so someone or something was doing this to her, and he’d be damned—well, again—if he didn’t find out what.
The arrival of 4:45 announced itself rudely as Caroline’s alarm blared, echoing against the walls in a way only a vampire would notice. Caroline’s right hand remained resting in Klaus’s deliberately loose grip, but her left reached over him and unerringly turned off the alarm, ignoring the large snooze button. Klaus must’ve been more asleep than he’d thought, because the blonde pillowing her head on his chest had to have been awake to do that, and he hadn’t noticed.
Caroline’s arm rested back on his chest immediately, and she lay still, seeming quite unbothered to find him still in her bed. Perhaps, even, trying not to wake him up. Testing his theory, he shifted a bit, re-adjusting his hold on her. She stiffened. Yeah, she’d been hoping he wasn’t awake yet. But she hadn’t made a move to pull away or get up when she thought he was still asleep; he wasn’t sure what to make of that.
“Morning, love,” he greeted her quietly, pressing a kiss to her temple.
“Klaus,” she grumbled in a warning tone, but still made no move to extricate herself.
“What happened last night,” he asked as calmly as he could manage.
“Don’t worry about it,” she sighed, but her heart-rate picked up and he heard her swallow. He sat up, pulling her with him and ignoring her glare of protest as he held her hand between his own, thumb running gently over her desiccating fingers.
“Don’t play that game with me,” he warned, ignoring her glare of protest. “I have never seen you in so much pain, Caroline, and I can see the what,” here he nodded towards her hands, “what I don’t have is the why. Why aren’t you eating?”
“I am,” she hissed, yanking her hand out of his and turning to put her feet on the floor. “I said don’t worry about it.”
“Yeah, I heard you, and I’m going to need a bit more than that,” Klaus responded evenly. Her pulse was racing, and the last thing he needed was to push her so hard that she had another panic attack.
“It’s none of your business,” she snapped, whirling to glare at him over her shoulder.
“Sweetheart you’re starving in a stocked kitchen,” he listed, gesturing at her mini fridge with his thumb, “I heard you from down the street last night and came up because I legitimately thought you were being kidnapped and tortured, and you—who have made it perfectly clear that you find my presence irksome in the highest degree—grabbed onto me for dear life last night and are making no real effort to dislodge me now. I am not an idiot, love,” he growled. “I know that means something is desperately wrong. And I'm worrying about it.”
Caroline swallowed, breathing deeply and rubbing her eyes. Her shoulder dropped, and she looked deflated.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she finally gritted out.
“I can help,” he insisted.
“No, you really can’t,” she sighed, and although he could tell she was trying for huffy hostility, all he could hear was sorrow and exhaustion.
“Try me,” he demanded, working hard to keep the snarl out of his voice. Wasn’t it just like her to protect the person hurting her?
“No,” she responded flatly, standing up and rustling around in her dresser for some clothes. Her movements were slow and clumsy, and he saw her lips purse together as her dry, painful skin whacked the side of the drawer.
“Not doing a very convincing ‘fine,’ darling,” he commented, laying back and folding his arms behind his head casually.
“What do you want from me?” she demanded, tossing her outfit on the bed so she could throw her hands up expressively. “There’s no one for you to murder, Klaus!”
“Then there's no harm in telling me, is there?” he countered cleverly.
“What are you going to do; kidnap and torture it out of me?” she demanded, voice dripping sarcasm. “A bit counterintuitive if you ask me.”
“I would never hurt you, love,” Klaus responded, knowing she was baiting him and refusing to rise. “But,” he added, “I'm not leaving until you tell me.”
Caroline scoffed wordlessly, grabbed her clothes and flounced into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. As the shower turned on, Klaus surveyed the house with his senses, noting that Liz Forbes hadn't yet arrived home. He lay there comfortably, listening to the water run in the shower—and Caroline try and fail to control her breathing—for nearly half an hour. She dried off, blow-dried her hair (for less time than Klaus thought that ought to take, but then what did he know about blow-drying long hair) and he heard the rustle of clothes being pulled on for a moment before she let out a hiss of pain and froze in place.
He frowned, then realized that she’d grabbed skinny jeans, and if they were nearly as hard to get into as he imagined, and her feet were in the same state as her hands, that forcing the denim over her skin would likely be extremely painful. He rubbed a hand through his hair in frustration. If she’d just tell him what the problem was, he could figure out how to fix it; in a thousand years he’d learned quite a few facts about vampires, and was confident that he could resolve the issue, whatever it was.
Unfortunately, the vampire in question was being terribly stubborn; both in her determination not to let him help and, apparently, in her determination to wear that pair of jeans. He winced every time she made a sound of pain, which was quite a few times in the interminably long six minutes it took her to get dressed.
Finally, she exited the bathroom, doing a brief and irritated double-take when she saw him still lounging on her bed.
“You really don’t have anything better to do than sit there and wait for me to change my mind?” she grumbled as she sat down at her makeup table.
“Depends,” he countered, “like I said I’m not leaving you until you tell me, so I suppose I’ll be sitting around your high school at some point.” She whirled to glare at him in disbelief. “Or at the grill, oh, do you have cheerleading practice today?” he added with a bit of a leer. She flipped him off and he laughed. “I’m a very patient man when I want something,” he reminded her, and she wasn’t sure if that was supposed to sound like a threat or a promise.
“We’ll see about that,” she muttered, picking up her phone and sending a text message before turning back to the mirror.
“Is that a challenge, love?” he demanded playfully, wondering which of her troupe of friends she was enlisting to help her shake him off.
“Yes,” she responded coolly. “Because as you’ve noticed, I’m under the weather, so my mom is calling me out of school today. I’m going to sit here and watch makeup tutorials for the next six hours, then go downstairs, eat a tub of ice cream and watch telenovelas. If you really want to glue your immortal, hybrid ass to my bed and try your hand at boring yourself to death, be my guest.”
