The reason why Carmen has a bit of a temper is because her showing anger in a destructive way was rewarded by the VILE faculty. 

Player would send her memes on the phone she stole, Black Sheep didn’t understand them at all. 

She would try to catch the seagulls that would come onto the island. She did catch a few but ShadowSan made her release them. 

Before she met Player the only music she was allowed to listen to was classical. 

Black Sheep had no sense of personal space, it isn’t her fault she was just a rowdy child. 

She was a little entitled because the Faculty let her get away with many things. 

Her and Mime Bomb would draw each others pictures in the sand. 

Black Sheep’s favorite board games were Clue, Candy Land, and Operation.

Black Sheep didn’t understand how romantic relations worked because she was never told about them until Antonio did. 

When she was little she would sit on the shore and try to see if she could spot sharks, she did spot dolphins though! 

Black Sheep and Jean-Paul would race each other around the school, they often got in trouble for it. 

Bonus Operatives Hc’s!: 

Sheena loved Monster High, she knew the lyrics to all the songs. 

Despite seeming really chill, Antonio had severe anger issues in the past. 

Jean-Paul is double jointed in literally every part of his body. He loves to freak people out by bending his limbs in some weird way. 

Grey played the electric guitar in high school and even tried to start a band.

Mime Bomb draws on his arms when he gets bored, he’s also a day dreamer. 

Paper Star dyes her own hair and outfits. 

Spin Kick and Flytrap knew each other before becoming operatives. They refuse to go on mission without each other. 

The only video game Dash Haber plays is Candy Crush.

here are my stupid and dumb Carmen & Player friendship head canons:

Carmen rarely uses Google. If she wants to know something, she asks Player and he looks it up if he doesn't know it. This habit formed in the early days after escaping V.I.L.E, and Player never corrected it bc he thinks it's funny.

Player refuses the play board or card games with her because he knows she cheats. No one else believes him because she never gets caught and no one knows better than Player that underneath it all, Carmen is actually a mischievous bitch. Shadowsan knows she cheats too, but who is he to call out the skills he taught her?

They frequently start phone calls that last hours long in which they don't actually say much, they're just chilling in each other's company.

The others won't always know she's on the phone with him until she responds to something he says and they're like "Dude. How long has Player been here?"

They're both good liars but can't seem to lie to one another.

They play Minecraft :)

And Stardew Valley

Player keeps score of every time she does something reckless.

Carmen will be like, "Hey, I'm not reckless! I always think things through!"

And Player is like, "Oh yeah? Care to explain your actions on March 22, 20--"

"--Shut up."

Carmen started the habit of info-dumping about geography and Player picked up on it to support her.

Player speaks French ❤️

They gossip in French together.

Carmen learned French from France whereas Player learned Canadian French.

why didn't head faculty vile had like a test as a teacher for potential shadowsan replacements. Like, yes you're gonna be head faculty with lots of perks but. you also gonna need to teach students, trouble making ones at it. they should have a test whether or not they make good teachers to teach future criminals. I mean. Imagine if our candidates got that teacher test and its just teaching a class of their special skills for one week with one of the faculty supervising the class.

okay so i know it was said in the last post that player doesnt get homework, but that was not what i meant to say haha. i wanted to say they didnt have homework that week, but usually their mom does give them (very little) homework. also player is bad at maths and hates triangles bc i hate triangles too and its MY comfort caharcter so i get to project my struggles onto them

“GRAY!”

I’m fiddling with the electricity supply, barely managing to place the final touches before I get wrapped up in a bear hug. My heart skips a beat at the familiar voice, and from the corner of my eye, I see the familiar lump of curly auburn hair and register the scent of rose-scented perfume I know all too well. The wetness on my coat is surprising.

“Carmen?” I break the hug, staring into her blue-grey eyes, and they are slightly swollen and red, “you’re crying.”

Oh gosh. I messed up. 

“I know… I just… I thought you were gone…” the last of her sentence becomes an inaudible murmur as she sobs and lets out a soft hiccup.

“Why are you here?” I try not to sound too condescending, and the straight look of Shadowsan appears in my head. I instantly feel scared.

Her face falls in five seconds, and I’d feel guilty if I didn’t hear what she says next, “My team dragged me here.” I grip onto her bare hand as she buries her face into my chest, and my heart flutters to seventh heaven. But at the same time, I can tell that she’s more closed off than usual, and I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. Zack and Ivy are probably whispering somewhere, Shadowsan is probably judging me, and Player is probably on video call listening in to this conversation.

So I better not screw anything up.

“You seem quiet. What’s going on? Are you okay?”

“I don’t know how to say this but I… I… I love you.” the confession nearly goes unheard, but I manage to catch it amidst the whir of the air-conditioning, and it’s then I realise that most of the men who work here have stopped in their tracks, staring at us, and the chatting crowd outside has partially gone silent. I try my best to ignore it.

Did she just…?

Oh god, she just did. What do I say back? How’ll she react? Will it be bad or good? Somewhere in the back of my mind, I hear the two Boston siblings giggling, and I do my best to shake the thought out of my head.

“I love you too, and–” I manage the best and most reassuring smile I can, only to have the remaining words die on my tongue when I feel a tug on my coat, followed by her lips on mine. I don’t know what to do for a second as I hear my heart pound in my chest and feel the blood rushing through my ears.

She’s kissing me.

My first kiss with the most beautiful girl in the world is great.

I can’t think straight, and I’m left stunned.

But it is kind of nice, actually.

I let my eyes slip shut, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her closer as I run a hand through her auburn locks. The world seemingly stops rotating as if frozen in time. It’s not like the kissing scenes in movies, but just something new, something that I haven’t gone through, even with my first girlfriend.

Heaven. Sheer heaven.

Heaven is what it is.

As we pull away, my hands moving to grip hers, I open my eyes, and it’s then that I register what’s going on in the real world. My male colleagues are standing, frozen in shock, one of them yelling, “YOU GO, GRAY!” while the rest blend in with the ocean of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’, some staring at me with what I perceive as envy in their eyes. Carmen’s crew has moved forward– Zack and Ivy are filming the entire thing and snickering, Player has his jaw slack from what I see on Carmen’s phone, and Shadowsan has his eyes widened as he’s chewing on something that looks like a Snickers bar.

I can hear whispers washing through the crowd, like ‘have you seen the look in his eyes whenever he mentions her? You should’ve seen the sparkle in them. That’s true love there’ and ‘this is Grammy-class romance here. I’m filming this for my Instagram’. Shadowsan is now uttering something that sounds like ‘Carmen is officially not single anymore.’, the last of his Snickers bar gone; and Zack is literally screaming at a volume so loud the security guards at the other end of the country could probably hear him, “OH MY GOSH! THEY KISSED! THIS WILL MAKE GOOD CONTENT FOR THE KIDS!”

Shadowsan, please, PLEASE don’t kill me. The last thing I want is to be at the hands of a sharp knife as he hurls profanities at me.

“Well done, Carm,” Ivy walks over, putting her hand on her shoulder, “you two are officially a couple now.”

Her cheeks turn crimson, and I can’t help but make the association.

“So…” I speak up, “you want to… go out on a date with me?”

Thinking about how different Isabela and Carmen would be when completely hammered.

Initially, they're both polite and try to limit their alcoholic intake because they're responsible adults. However, enough peer pressure and they'll fold like nokias.

Isabela gets loud. Like, loud loud. She doesn't even realise that she's being loud. People tell her to shush and she'll keep her voice at the same level. Then she'll go "I AM WHISPERING!!! THIS IS ME WHISPERING. I AM SO QUIETTT HEHEHE"

Carmen is least likely to get drunk, she finds herself needing to be the designated driver/carer for her party animal wife. But when she does get drunk.. oh madness ensues. She and Isabela descend into chaos, she's laughing and rambling to anyone who will listen- trying to start fights. Bela is off in the corner attempting to befriend what she believes to be a mouse (It is in fact, a cockroach).

At some point, they'll both get very emotional and sob to each other, only to then lock in and resume their mayhem.

In all honesty, Isabela is just unhinged and Carmen is just following along. If drunk Isa declares they need more shots before they can go get Yiros, then Carmen will comply.

(Bonus points for Carmen having a seperate little bag filled with hair ties and wet-wipes for whenever one of them throws up or Isabela always being the one to drag Carmen onto the dance floor because she's 'being too boring')

New head cannon: Carmen Sandiego’s growth was stunted on The Isle of Vile

She may have seemed happy & free growing up, being able to run around & do whatever she wanted, but that doesn’t mean the environment wasn’t stifling. Between the lack of friends around her age, being the faculty’s kid & hearing all the world had to offer, being trapped on that island would’ve taken a mental toll (even if subconscious)

Add in her diet being provided by Vile (an organization who canonically try to make people rely on their food products despite not even bothering to try to make it taste good & probably not caring abt health) & you can see how one’s body might not being growing right

So when she finally got a taste of freedom & real food, her body finally had the capacity to grow as much as it wanted to

Hence her crazy growth compared to Player between the flashback & present

(also: Player is always seen sitting & had a haircut he liked so his growth would be less noticeable)

- Mime Bomb often has makeup residue around his eyes, making him look more tired than he already is. He struggles to get it out and also doesnt see the point bcs 9 times out of 10 hes gonna be hopping on another flight anyway!!!!

- Idia is half filipino. dont try and change my mind YOU CANNOT

- Cater has freckles and used to cover them up around highschool - year one in NRC. maybe because of insecurity or to follow the current "trends". maybe both!!!!!1!1!1!1! probably still does it to this even better if no one actually knows if his freckles are real or nah

- Mime Bomb knows how to draw! always uses himself as a reference when he can. loves drawing hands

- weepy is a jack of all trades, master of none. he'd observe and learn other peoples crafts silently from other people at the circus! even if he's not that good at most of them, he knows the basic stuff.. maybe.

- Cater often puts white eyeliner on to brighten up his eyes!!

- i think idia likes watching those process videos on sculpting and carving, just traditional art in general.

- cater probably likes to deconstruct a bunch of stuff, mainly content-making related things and especially music! I saw someone mention how passionate he seems about music based on the details in his room (might sound like a total idiot rn if those details were disclosed in one of the vignettes or something) so in my heart it seems like something he'd totes do. he's also a very detail oriented person so !1!1!1!1!1

They're not very pda, so it would definitely be a surprise to the faculty if nigel (or better, maelstrom) show the slightest pda (spoon-feeding one another, lingering hands, etc.)

them being figures to 3 knuckleheads (nigel is troll's distant uncle or some shit, maelstrom adopts flytrap and paperstar) and whenever the kids see them indulge at each other they're like "WHAAAAT????"

absolutely do not understand gen z culture and slang. they ask what "yeet" is when paperstar jumps on flytrap during a friendly wrestle. troll having to explain what nft is to nigel. maelstrom confused why this "rickroll" is bad when the tunes are decent and paperstar is just groaning and flytrap just slaps a hand to her face.

gift giving is so nigel. he gifts stolen things to maelstrom that he thinks he would like (he has stressed about this for 6 hours)

maelstrom is word of affirmation. and by that i meant like giving him psychology tips to use when dealing people. nigel definitely appreciates it.
