HELLO HELLO! thank you so much for this!! ���‍♀️💗 i'm really glad you all enjoy my kaiai obsession!!! (even for the lack of it recently) and to answer your question yes, i do have headcanons, several of them actually

(long post ahead)

- aichi went to college for astrophysics and kai skipped college for the euro league, so kai's schedule is more free than aichi's. they usually talk to each other online

- aichi rants to kai about astrophysics and all kai does is nod and try to understand. he doesn't really get most of it but it makes him smile seeing aichi so passionate about it.

- aichi is unironically a black coffee drinker. though he puts around 3-4 cubes of sugar and kai drinks it straight as it is.

- aichi actually knows enough english to hold a conversation but its a bit silly at times because he uses a lot of english vanguard terms when talking to people. kai's signature "the" helps him remember to put the article.

- aichi and ratie roommates!! ratie is the one keeping aichi in check (while extorting him for more donuts). ratie usually sends kai pictures of aichi trying new donut flavors and kai saves them all under "hamster"

- mr. mark's teaching method has influenced aichi so much that he learns his lessons that way (Aichi hums to himself, "Okay, so the Steady State Theory is like when you add more soul to your vanguard but its still one vanguard in the end- it gets bigger and bigger but its still one fixed vanguard and-")

- kai has an alarm for the exact time aichi is awake and leaving for school, and always sends a "have a good day at school." its the best part of his day

- kai and aichi definitley have remote fights. they have areas where they added a phone stand facing the table so that they could have remote cardfights. aichi's phone usually fell in the middle of the battle and sometimes rattie would take away his phone to force aichi to do his homework.

Looking for another online TCG to play since modern yugioh makes me wanna eat my own fingers and tryna decide between MTG and CFV, Cardfight is closer to yugioh in gameplay but has no visually interesting or punching related cards, MTG is pretty generic boring fantasy elves and dragons bs but lots of cards depicting someone throwing them hands so I'm conflicted

D4DJ Voice Actor's and Headcanon Voice Actors.

This will be a little different than my usual VA headcanon posts because this will actually feature both canon AND headcanon VA's from this series.

The only instance where D4DJ has been dubbed in English is the first season of the anime, which primarily featured Happy Around, Peaky P-Key and Photon Maiden, and while the other units made cameos and had voiced scenes, they didn't really get the spotlight. I wanted to include all the characters in the post though, because I very quickly fell in love with this series and the storylines, and characters sing to me, pun not intended.

So this is kind of a roundup of the voice actors of the characters in English, as well as who I think would voice the characters who DON'T appear in English. The rules are the same as ever.

The most important thing to remember is that the unnoficial VA's are NOT CANON. They are HEADCANONS ONLY. It’s just a hypothetical situation. If the characters were voiced, this is who I imagine would voice them.

feeling sentimental today so let me ramble about role playing

OCs are looked upon with hesitation by many. Self inserts are considered indulgent. Honestly roleplay as myself, without any proxy characters as masks, has changed my life for the better. I used to spend at least four hours a day talking with my brothers because of it, and not the rule-ridden D&D either, not the kind where every decision is made by the GM, but a collaborative work. We have three people altogether, sometimes two if one wasn’t free, so we’d take turns doing povs of each other and try to keep our stories as separate as possible. Our personalities are very different so that worked for the most part. My elder brother resembles Kageura from the Dark Buddyfight series. My younger resembles the protagonist of the Holy Chronicles. They usually try for sword skills and world dominion respectively. In that order.  All our role plays are irrevocably changed by whatever anime we’re into at the moment. I can never not link Sword Art Online to Doctor Gara’s (future card buddyfight) experiment, or My Hero Academia to Toshiki Kai (Cardfight Vanguard) having a dragon quirk. We do ridiculous crossovers and force a character to follow us around so we can explore the world without straying from the plot. Role playing with them forces me to improve my crazy plot ideas to keep things interesting without going overboard on the implausabilities. It forces me to elaborate on visual verbal and auditory clues. I have to develop my scene enough so they can make their own story out of it. And that makes me confront my own weaknesses.

Yet, I’m not placed into a role of impartiality. I have every right to twist their scene to help me at my end. They have every right to do so in mine, we are constantly battling to trick each other into following clues that will only hurt us and prevent us from reaching our goals. And strangely enough this is fun …. Without those dice rolls, without the character spreadsheet to make things fair. Without any reservations. The reason this is? We are all little npc characters running around in a story that is not ours and we are making it our own. That’s too fun to give up even if sometimes you do wish you could prove you deserve to punch that one character out of the narrative. It can be fun to roleplay as characters, of course, and that’s exactly what we do as gms as well; we play all the characters from time to time during someone else’s pov. 

I wish I had more time to roleplay like that. More people to do roleplay like that with. It’s so inexpressibly fun, it’s what I own half of my imagination to.

Actually, although I haven’t even touched this book yet, it’s played such a huge part in my life. This is bringing up memories…..

When I was thirteen, to the beginning of fourteen, I was intensely obsessed with Zodiacs. I also happened to be on Wattpad. That place had a lot of zodiac stories and because the search filter was so bad (I feel lucky to have ao3 now), I started a recommendation book for wattpad’s zodiac stories. because of Subaru’s recommendation of this book, I named it the Zodiac Train, in homage to the Buddyfight I loved so much. I had an online friend whom also lived Buddyfight, pretty much, and she’s still a lot older than me. Because we were friends, she joined the Train to help me manage the book. For context, I was only allowed one hour of handphone time a day back then, so I was having a lot of trouble keeping the book up, but I also didn’t want to disappoint my readers, who had grown into a really treasured audience of mine despite my unprofessional writing and spontaneous awards that you couldn’t submit your own writing to.

I was really happy at first, especially since I have no real life friends. Since a toxic friendship in primary school, I’ve been alone of my own choice, uninterested in people who might hurt me in ways I can’t withdraw from, people who I won’t be able to get away from afterward. I’m still like that.

we were talking about doing real life meet ups, and I thought everything was well, but I guess I was a stress factor to them. I kept throwing out ideas for new projects because I was enthusiastic and wanted to discuss fun things with them, and they kept agreeing because they thought they could manage. I won’t say I don’t know, because I do - I was not doing as much as they hoped I would be doing, and I couldn’t do more than what I already was doing, and I told them as much.

soon they started complaining. Not quietly, not take-you-aside complaining. They were complaining about me right to my face, saying that I was lazy, saying that I was forcing a lot of things on them, that I was spoiled and guilt tripping them into doing things, things that they had agreed to but later considered a bad idea. All that was on me.

I quit Wattpad, I quit the discord account I was using, I left. And I didn’t get back into the online world until about a year later, when I made friends with a Cardfight Vanguard fic writer.

I don’t know why I’m sharing this. I don’t know why I’m saying this. I loved the time I spent with them before everything got demanding and the pressure flattened me into cardboard. I wish I had said goodbye properly. No one of them has an alive account anymore. I could never hate Buddyfight, but I did hate what happened to that friend of mine in the fandom, how I wasted her time. Up till the end, someone in the Train deleted the book. No one else had the password. No one knew who had done it. It sounds ridiculous, deleting a book headed by a thirteen year old girl to be petty, but it happened.

I’m still, scared that I’m too much. I’m scared to death that I am hurting someone without knowing it, that they feel obligated to follow up. That I’m going full steam ahead and ignoring them picking up on the places I’ve slacked. I am afraid that I will break a place that I loved again. And I’m afraid that people will hurt me with the things I’ve made again. I don’t think I would have even come here if it hadn’t seemed quiet and solitary and safe.

It’s not quiet, or safe, or solitary anymore, but it’s better than that because how do I say that I have come full circle, back to this book? Back to the milky railroad, and this time with a friend who treasures me more than I could ever know? Back to the places I truly loved rather than a place that made me die on the inside?

i'm only like 1/4 through kenji miyazawa's "night on the galactic railroad" but i can already tell why subaru likes it and recommended it to mel [x]

Cardfight Online via Untap

Untap.in allows for online play of various games as it is a browser based sandbox.
