The Overflowing Heart
I will tell you how I made this witch’s token, but you will have to find a way of your own. It is as Grandmother Wren told us,
“Remember always that some portion of magic is yours to wield, and that the world contains many, many truths.”
the recipe:
3/4 oz Kazuki gin
1 1/2 oz. Sake + tea mixture
1 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit
3/4 oz. Strega
shake over ice, and serve in your finest or favourite tea cup
garnish with dried rose petals
notes:
Sherringham Kazuki gin— a collaboration of one of my favourite distilleries and my favourite local tea shop, Westholme Tea Farm. Made from Japanese cherry blossoms, and locally grown tea leaves with notes of yuzu, grapefruit, and juniper. I first visited Sherringham in a trio of my own, on a day long adventure, visiting a beach someway up the island. Westholme is run by an old coworker of my Aunt’s, and his partner who makes gorgeous pottery. I could not put words to my excitement when I first heard whispers of their collaboration.
Sake + Tea Mixture— I can never fully recreate this just the same. There is magic in that, I think. I have little left. I made it by taking a sprinkling of the following teas from Westholme, and cold steeping them in a mason jar with a large ice cube, topped with sake and a splash of moon bathed witch water.
featuring:
Blossom: (jasmine green, floral), for the cottage’s calendar
Bi Luo Chun: (green, delicate and earthy), for i thought it was grown here, over seven long years (I rolled a nat 1 on my perception check)
Pur-eh: (fermented, earthy), for its mushroominess and it’s connection therin
Dog: (black assam, vanilla and cardamon, from the Chinese Zodic series), the cardamom pod and a few leaves, for our beloved Fox
Witch Water: the witch water used in this potion was bathed in the Friday, October 13th New Moon (a day so witchy I thought for sure the class would be released that day!) in an empty kazuki gin vessel
~
Grapefruit— because it was pink and in season and a citrus I love dearly
Strega— the witch liqueur! According to legend, Giuseppe Alberti was given the recipe for this elixir after saving a witch falling out of the sacred walnut tree, under which witches would convene to dance and perform their rituals.
for the cocktail chapter of the @worldsbeyondpod unofficial cookbook

Steven Universe would have the time of his life if he ever stepped foot on Bee & Puppycat's island.
He would find Puppycat so utterly adorable and would hug him no matter how many times Puppycat would hit him. He would get along with the easy Bee because her appetite would remind him of Amethyst, but wouldn't know about her Intergalactic temp jobs and robotic nature at first; only getting a hint when he visits her apartment and sees that she doesn't have a kitchen and keeps her food in the bathroom.
He would definitely get caught off guard by the Wizard siblings and think their names are cool. No matter how hard he tries, Cass will think he's a little weird with his pink gem bellybutton and tendency to hug all of Howell's cats. Howell, in turn, would think Lion is the most majestic feline ever.
Steven would take one look at Cardemon, Sticky, and their mom situation and be like "I'm gonna take care of this right now." He would definitely help take care of Cardamon and Sticky and be upset that his healing spit seemingly didn't wake up his mom.
All in all, he'll be happy to not have any space related stuff during his island stay...until he accidentally gets involved with temp work and finds out the hard way that the Island is actually a giant spaceship.

Hob definitely is an amazing cook, the type that has ALL the spices and knows how to use them. Sometime after 1689 when he was getting his life together he ended up on a Dutch spice trade ship, and spent a decade in the Spice Islands learning everything there was to know about aromatics. He never lost his Medieval penchant for using a ton of pepper and ginger in everything. He can’t believe how cheap spices are now! Every time Dream deigns to try the food he makes him in the Waking, Dream’s pale human guise turns bright pink at how spicy it is. Hob’s house smells like cinnamon and cardamon all the time. Feeding others is his love language.

crops of middle ages? :)
Depends on the country! For ease here I'm gonna assume the UK cause that's my main knowledge base. My best understanding comes from the book The Forme of Cury which is a roughly 14th century cookbook from England. It has a preface from around the 15th century featuring some interesting information about Early British food.
"The Aborigines of Britain, to come nearer home, could have no great expertness in Cookery, as they had no oil, and we hear nothing of their butter [...] There was little corn in the interior part of the island, but they lived on milk and flesh"
The cookbook itself mentions a lot of imports: wine (from France and Greece), rice (from "abroad"), saffron (Egypt), sugar (Caribbean via Venice), olives (France) and "whole spices" ("abroad" via Venice.) Spices named include: cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic, galangal, pepper, ginger, cubeb, cardamon, and caraway.
England's own native crops include barley, wheat, oats, and rye. Being a fairly cold country (especially during the ice age the Middle Ages was experiencing) England mainly relied on imports for food. In their homes many medieval people would grow cabbages, onions, peas and beans. But most food reliance was on meat, bread, and dairy.

Excerpt from this story from Yale Environment 360:
Increasingly, businesses are writing off their carbon emissions by funding the conservation of forests. A new report finds that while such schemes have made “limited” progress in curbing deforestation, they have largely failed to alleviate poverty in forest communities.
“We are too late on in the game to use win-win narratives,” said Daniela Kleinschmit of Freiburg University, a lead author of the report.
Published by the International Union of Forest Research Organizations and presented this week at a U.N. meeting on forest loss, the report looked at both carbon offset programs and programs that certify goods as not contributing to deforestation. It found that such schemes frequently operate at the expense of forest dwellers.
Forest communities often see no income from offset schemes and are sometimes forcibly evicted from their lands in the name of protecting forests, the report said. A recent investigation by Human Rights Watch detailed how Indigenous people in Cambodia’s Cardamon Mountains were violently ejected from their homes for an offset program.
The new report also found that programs aimed at cleaning up supply chains, such as an EU ban on chocolate linked to deforestation, often prove ineffective and can sometimes lead to small farmers being pushed off their lands.
To benefit forest dwellers, authors call for greater investment in community-led projects. Yale E360 recently reported one one such offset project spearheaded by tribes in the Solomon Islands. The scheme has preserved vital rainforest while generating income that villagers are using to build toilets and solar panels, and pay for school fees.

Dutch Hospitals Visit 2.0 (14.09.2024)
17/09/2024
Hi everyone! I'm back with a new update!!!
I actually wanted to update this post day before yesterday itself, but I was exhausted once I got home. I couldn't update the blog yesterday since I spent the entire day helping one of my best friends with her uni projects!
Anyways, I have some free time today, so I will be documenting my 2nd time visit to Dutch Hospitals!
The initial plan was for Ayodya, Shiza, Thameena and I to go together for this 2nd visit. However, Shiza and Thameena were busy last Saturday and Ayodya was unfortunately down with the flu :(
So, I made a visit to the place with my parents. They wanted to join since we could get some lunch there while I take the pictures.
Here are some pictures of the building! -
These are some wide and medium shots I took of the entrance and the open space. I'm hoping to edit these pictures by adding a frame to them as if they've been taken from a polaroid camera. I will be editing them that way to add to the scrap book background!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lunch at the 'Masala Island' -
My parents and I initially had plans to dine at 'Ceylon Curry Club'. However, the place was packed for the day. It's a shame because it would've been ideal for me to eat there so I can recommend some menu items in the animatic saying I've personally enjoyed them, and I highly recommend those menu items.
Our other option was to dine at the restaurant opposite the Colombo Curry Club, and that place happened to be 'Masala Island'. Now, I haven't mentioned about this place in the script, but it was worth dining there. We tried their 'Prawn biriyani' and 'Butter Naan' with 'Paneer Tikka Masala' and 'Mutton Rogan Josh'. I have to say, the Biriyani was packed with right amount of spice and generous portions of prawn. The naan was buttery and flavorful on its own. The stars of the show were definitely the curry selections for the naan. The 'Paneer Tikka Masala' had big chunks of cottage cheese which were soaked in a Butterly and Savoury curry and the 'Mutton Rogan Josh' had the right balance of meatiness and spice. (Starting to feel hungry while describing the food lol)
Overall, it was a great restaurant! I feel like I should try my best to recommend this place in the script since I actually got the chance to dine here. I will think about it later.
Checking out LUV SL by Odel -
The main reason I visited the store was to get a good picture for my story board. This is the shot I will be using.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition, I spent some time going through their products to see if there's anything interesting, I can draw as stickers for the scrap book background. LUV SL actually has some cute and aesthetic notebooks, stationary items, coasters, baskets, etc. that have been made using recycled paper and ecofriendly materials.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They also have a huge collection of graphic t-shirts with prints inspired by the local culture. You can find so many t-shirts with devil mask and elephant prints.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can tell that this store mainly caters to the tourists who are looking for souvenirs and gifts to take back to their family and friends.
Getting lost at 'Spa Ceylon' -
For the spa Ceylon story board panel, I will be using the following shots of the entrance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While walking around the store, I found this royal chair next to the products. I plan on drawing my avatar sitting on this chair while talking about the products.
Tumblr media
Got some beautiful shots of the interior as well. I'm hoping to edit them into Polaroid pictures for the background. I might make use of some of these pictures to draw some of the store's products, elements, and decor as well. (The Blue and Purple devil masks are a must draw!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike LUV SL, Spa Ceylon caters to both locals and foreigners with a wide range of luxurious ayurvedic wellness and skincare products. I personally have used some of their products since my mom is one of their loyal customers. Their cardamon rose and their white jasmine face washes and creams are ideal for sensitive skin. From their perfumes, I highly recommend the water lily scent.
The ambiance and aesthetic of the place is painted with vibrant colors and various SriLankan elements. Their products also contain 100% natural ingredients found in Sri Lanka. It's one of the best stores for the ladies to visit over at Dutch Hospitals.
Checking out 'Tap House' -
Since the 'Tap House' was right next to Spa Ceylon, I decided to take a few shots of the place. There was some construction going on to fix a maki in the area. So, there were a bunch of steel pipes blocking the view of the entrance. But I did the best I could to take shots of the entrance and the logo.
I plan on using Maya and substance painter to recreate the logo for the scrap book. It's not too complicated of a process so I decided I might as well. I just need to model the basic shape and add the right textures on substance painter. I will add the font on photoshop after saving the render.
Tumblr media
Personally, I haven't dined at this restaurant. But from the 'tripadvisor' reviews, many people have commented on the place having delicious fast food and good beer and cocktails. They have live music playing on some days. It's an ideal spot for hangouts with friends or for date nights.
Stalking the 'Ministry of Crabs' -
Pretty much, I was taking a couple of pictures of this restaurant to the point that some of the staff ladies outside were giving me the side eye. But I digress. This restaurant is known for being fancy with their crabs and being quite expensive. The restaurant offers a fine dining experience to its guests. This restaurant was founded by Dharshan Munidasa (One of Sri Lanka's most popular chefs and restaurateurs), partnering with Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena (Two Sri Lankan cricket legends) in 2011.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While having a look at the restaurant's exterior, I came across this yellow three-wheeler and thought about using it as a good area to place my avatar while she talks about the restaurants.
Tumblr media
Lak Shilpa -
I actually wanted to visit the store again. Unfortunately, they were closed for the day :(
But no worries! I have some pictures of the place from our class visit to Dutch Hospitals.
In case I haven't mentioned this earlier, this store motivates and encourages Sri Lankan craftsman by selling their crafts at this store. It's a marketplace for Sri Lankan Crafts!
Tumblr media
Heladiv Tea Club -
Personally, I haven't visited this place, but it's known to be a tea salon, dessert bar, and boutique. They are known for their teas, cakes and sandwiches.
Tumblr media
Colombo Fort Cafe -
During this visit I couldn't try out any of the menu items over at this cafe, but I remember dining here as a kid. Back in 2012, I remember coming to Dutch hospitals with my friend Anika and her parents to celebrate her stage play performance. I still remember the fact that we ordered pizza from Harpos and it had one of the biggest pizza slices I has seen before.
But I digress. This restaurant has been at Dutch Hospitals from the very beginning of its conversion into a shopping precinct. The place is known for serving mediterranean cuisine and for its bistro style dining experience.
Tumblr media
Ceylon Curry Club -
Last but not least, the 'Ceylon Curry Club'. Unfortunately, we couldn't dine here last Saturday. But I have visited this restaurant once or twice a few years back. So, I have had somewhat of a memorable dining experience at this restaurant.
The best way to describe their food is that they present traditional Sri Lankan dishes with a modern twist to it. The best example would be their 'Coconut Creme Brulee'.
This is 100% a must visit for Sri Lankan food lovers.
Tumblr media
That's about it for my 'Dutch Hospitals 2.0' visit. It was definitely worth the visit since I needed my own shots for the storyboards, background, and the drawing reference. I was a little disappointed in the fact that I couldn't re-visit the 'Lak Shilpa' store, but I can definitely make use of the photographs I took during our class visit.
If you read this post till the end, thank you so much! Have a great day!!

“cardamon is a capitalist” “cardamon is the real villain of bapc because he collects rent” “cardamon is mean” cardamon is a seven year old with a comatose mother who has been self-dependent for months, maybe even years, and the only joy he has in life is his dog no one understands him everyone thinks he’s mature for his age when in reality he not by choice became responsible for managing his mother’s entire career, his entire life, and every single adult in his apartment complex. he can’t make friends at school easily because he has to manage things the other kids might never have to manage and that has aged and traumatized him and bee is technically his only friend and she’s so used to him being able to take care of himself that she didn’t know he was suffering in silence until he broke down and declared that he doesn’t know anything. cardamon does not have many if any choices in his life, and he can hardly take care of himself.
cardamon is a child living in a world that has forced him to grow up faster than most. even when the warlocks and manipulated moully into going on a rampage on the island, cardamon thought it was his fault because he wished for a better life. he doesn’t want to be a landlord, he just wants his mother back. he wants to be a child. let him be a child, please.

After watching the show twice and thinking about it way too hard I'm starting to think Bee was created, at least in part, to protect the island/spaceship.
Like I do love the theory that human Bee died and the current Bee is a replacement, I def agree that her talking about getting really sick one time isn't just a throwaway line, plus her hatred of the ocean/water seems too important to be nothing but a personality quirk brought on by her being a robot(like how she says she's waterproof but also that she doesn't even like looking at the oceans bcs it makes her "think about things" seems suspicious), and as sad as it is the first time we see baby Bee she is trying to stick a fork in an electric socket...so yeah lots of hints/references to Bad Stuff happening in her past, BUT I also could see her having a greater purpose in the whole system thing that's going on with the spaceship/island.
It seems like one of her main skills is being Really Freaking Strong, and several times we see her consciously activate some parts of herself that specifically make her stronger, and I can't stop thinking about how two times in the show her main consciousness seems to go "offline" and is replaced by some kind of combat focused sleeper-agent mode and how when she's in that mode she can keep fighting even when parts of her are severely damaged. Sure, her dad could have added all that just to protect her, but on top of all that the show also goes out of it's way to show that helping and supporting people is clearly one of the main things she does, and I think that's important too.
Like we see pictures and flashbacks of her with other characters when they were babies, she mentions being familiar with taking care of babies in the new first ep, Deckard and Cas talk about how she's been around their family "forever", and she starts to prioritize taking care of Cardamon once she realizes he needs help. We see her remeber what people enjoy and go out of her way to get things they like/want, take them places she knows they'll have fun, and to support them even when it's hard(the peach bread, evergy drinks, and laptop for Cas, taking Crispin to the clown planet, ordering food from the cat Cafe despite clearly not wanting to be there just to help Howell, pushing Deckard to pursue his dream, going crazy trying to fix Puppycat when he's all squishy, ect.), Hell the show even starts with her wishing she had someone/thing to take care of. It's clearly something that she's drawn to doing, even if she isn't always the best at it.
And yeah that could all just be her(or human Bee's) natural personality, but even the little stuff is Important in this show and so I think it's more than that. Like maybe Bee's dad programed in the "helpful" stuff just to make sure someone was looking after Violet and Cardamon(even if they weren't awake) and that just spilled over into the rest of Bee's life, or maybe he genuinely wanted her to care for the island residents, but it really does seem like Bee's real job is being a protector.
Anyway I know some people were saying Lazy in Space was labeled as "part one" so I'm hoping we get more and if we do they go into why Bee exists, but until then this is my theory.

Ok so yeah hey hi I HAVE THOUGHTS-
First off, why is nobody, and I mean NOBODY, talking about the fact that Deckard's entire family just decided "man, nah, frick it, we're coming with you wherever" and stayed on the island while everybody else jumped off? Also, the entire town now has to find somewhere new to live, new houses, new jobs, and that old man and the cats... like... do you think he stayed? Him and his dog, just popping by to see the cats from time to time? We saw the cats and the brother stay on the island. On that note, what happened to all the other animals living on that island, they clearly didn't jump off in time. They all just travel across space too? So, canonically, Bee was once alive, how did she die? She became a robot. What's with the spirit things? I thought they were part of her programming, how do they return to her? Do they? Do they live as their own... beings? So they were ass naked there which means everybody saw Bee naked I guess. I know they were ethereal and jot really.... shaped that way, but, just saying.
Other thoughts- hey remember when spaceman Puppycat SHIT IN THE TOILET AND MADE IT CLEAN? Yeah that was wild.
So Violet had a kid. Why were they all in deep sleep mode anyway? How DID Cardamon wake up? And Bee being awake means... well he always knew her, Puppycat always knew Bee. She got left on Earth... and Puppycat when injured appeared before her, probably in the same way Moully came to see her. I think? I wonder if since Puppycat saw her as a kid and alive, and then later was confused about her fixing her broken robot arm, he was like "huh, what happened, how did she become a robot since I laat saw her?" Also, the fact that in the original, Deckard and Bee seemed to be the ship, but seems that Bee likes Deckard but Deckard thinks of himself as a mother type for her, while also slightly crushing... but in Lazy In Space, when Crispin ran away to join the circus, later he came back at some point to end up living with Bee (likely she found him and knew he was their sibling and convinced him to come home but he wasn't fully ready and she offered to let him stay with her for a while) and it seems they grew close, ir they were dating and he moced in with her but they broke up? And he moved back home? Anyway he still very much likes her, and she doesn't exactly dislike the thought of being with him either, she even dresses up for their date though she seemed reluctant to label it a date at first. So, ok, does Crispin end up dating the pink/red astral projection (likely her "romance" and "love" and "concern for others" aspect of her personality - blue probably sadness, yellow joy, idk, purple intuition and deep thought... white for her morals? Idk just throughts right now) or do they return to her? She is seen smiling later even though her eyes are still glitching, does she... get fixed? Wake back up? It seems she is still semi conscious while in "glitch" mode, as seen by the donut planet episode.
Also, on that note, I really love how their dynamic is, Crispin is definitely a little weird (I'd argue obsessed/ nuerotic more than weird per se) but Bee just embraces it and is ok with it, and she is definitely a little off as well, but he is chill with her level of weird and just goes with it too. "Of course there is" about the food being in the toilet. Just "ok then. I like everything to be clown themed, so sure girl, keep your food in the toilet, who am I to judge," and I just think that is really cute.
So, Deckard's "friend" followed him home, just, weirdly. And Deckard just is like "alright fine guess I have a stalker now I don't know, what am I gonna do about it?" But he seems pretty broken and sad at the end anyway, like cooking school just showed him he isn't good at something he wants to be good at and enjoys. That sucks because Deckard is honestly the sweetest most awkward guy. Second only to his brother Wesley, who cares for fish.
So, now, since Bee and Deckard are not a thing anymore like I thought, because her and Crispin... who thinks Deckard and his friend that followed him home are gonna be a thing? Or he'll start to like and get along with Cas cuz they'll both bond over the shit around them being weird and maybe they'll be a thing? Then again there's that whole weird hate-boner, throuple thing with Toast, her baby daddy, and Cas...
Ok I think that's all my word and thought vomit. Also the sheep thingie guys, wonder what happens to them since they failed. They just, keep chasing these guys all around as they continue to go on adventures for forever?
I loved the open ended weirdness of season 1. But then they gave us plot in season 2, and now I REALLY feel like we need just a short "tie up loose ends" one episode special, or short 3-6 episode season 3. Or I mean this is fine too, just leave well enough alone I guess. I don't know I just love Bee and Puppycat and need more of it.

I have some incoherent, spoiler-y thoughts about this banner that I'm slapping under the cut! Basically lots of musing about Deckard's role and importance, and s2/Lazy in Space spoilers!
I know there's only so much we can read into a banner but especially for a show that will be new to many, I guess I was really surprised by the inclusion of Deckard! Don't get me wrong - he's obviously a core character and even though he leaves and is mostly unseen in s2, we can still FEEL that he's an important and integral character.
But also I feel like, and maybe I'm wrong here, new viewers, people just coming into it, might get confused or... something? S1 is not subtle in telling us Deckard likes Bee and she probably reciprocate his feelings but s1 only plays out 3 out of those 16 episodes going to Netflix! For the remaining 13 hrs mostly seen only briefly until he returns so it just has me wondering and thinking (esp since s2 introduces the knowledge that Bee and Crispin have been involved!). There are definitely people (yes, chronic shippers lol) who may think oh yeah this guy in the banner yahoo OTP time and then be like, oh disappointing he's hardly here at all wth.
Like I said, idk how much we can read into a banner. Maybe Netflix is just like YEAH slap this on it will attract people!!!! Cos they very well could just use Bee and Puppycat and it would be fine. They ARE the central characters. What is it they want to Kure viewers with? Will they pick up on Deckard's important beyond a romantic figure or assume because this is what promo material did that's his role? Idk, rambling.
I guess the other thing is like, how much creative control does Natasha have of how they promote the show on Netflix's platform or is it like they go "hey we want to see this" and have the animators create whatever they requested (which, frankly, is what I assume)?
I guess it's just funny to me because Bee and Puppycat isn't a romance and Deckard isn't EXACTLY a central character. And this is where ky incoherent rumination comes in. As much as this is Bee and Puppycat's story (and Puppycat is arguably the most central)... it kind of is Deckard's story, just... not overtly. My current theory is that we'll see more of him in s3 (or I guess s2 on Netflix lol) because he's really connected to Bee's story. Like, despite applying to a culinary school off island that he clearly wants to try, he still chooses not to go to stay where Bee is. He continues to grow up but Bee.... doesn't. And I don't mean physically - I think it's safe to assume that Bee largely has maintained the personality she possesses (her inability to care about and hold a job). And it's not that she's incapable of that because s2 shows us that us that prompted by Deckard's IOU coupon, she is willing to make effort for others.
Deckard didn't want to leave because he feels responsible for Bee, but only when he leaves does Bee actually handle some responsibility. (Like, it is WILD that she is the only one we've seen helping Cardamon!)
Likewise, Deckard has obviously had his own assumptions about Bee that he had to come to terms with. He doesn't leave to culinary school because he wants to (and I suspect maybe that's why he's not performing well. Or maybe he's just not cut out for baking and is better at cooking lmao) but because he ran away and used it as a shield instead of facing what he was dealing with. Romantic feelings aside, it's clear Deckard and Bee are good friends - she sends him updates and pictures of her adventures (despite? That being a thing that scared him off?) and he doesn't seek uncomfortable with their continued communication. But also we never saw him talk to Bee about what happened - about who or what she is. He literally gave Cas a letter to deliver to Bee and hightailed it off the island.
I definitely think if Deckard were not important and meant to continue a role in the story, we would not have been given the scenes of him we were, checking up on him and seeing how poorly he's doing, and how lonely he seems. Again, I can't get over Bee sending him her fucking space adventures lol and he is so... cool with it. And to be fair, he was definitely having fun making donuts with Moully before the hands attacked, before he learned Bee is not what he thought, so maybe that part is easier for him to digest? Idk!
As I said, I know we can't necessarily read a lot into this header and if it's an indication of, well, anything, but it was still a nice point for me to jump into my sea of complicated Deckard thoughts and muse about the weight of his role. Even while he's gone, the Wizard family makes a point to note the cost of his absence - and, uh, the fact that they all blame Bee for him leaving even though Cas filled out his form and pushed him to accept it and go lol 💀 S2 brought with it a lot of important building blocks of history and I'm hoping that in going after Bee's father, we'll learn more about HER history, and maybe Deckard will find the closure to move forward in his own life, whichever direction it turns out to be????

What's Bee and Puppycat plot, actually? (spoilers)
Ok so I know it's a common joke (even by me) to say that Bee and Puppycat's plot doesn't matter that much...but thanks to the redone 3 first episodes and the Lazy in Space content, we have a bunch of material to get at least the broad strokes of what actually happened lore-wise. I'm 90% sure interpretations might vary wildly, but here's my understanding of the backstory and lore of the show :
The Space Outlaw and Violet were a team (alongide a Kid), and at some point the space outlaw had his run-in with the space princess and the warlocks that turned him into Puppycat. We know that, between that and the start of the series, Violet's ship landed on earth to become the island. Puppycat's dream at the end of the new episode 1 appears to show that it's here for repairs by Bee's dad.
So I think :
1 - After being turned into Puppycat (or during), the ship got damaged and needed repairs on earth. The unknown kid eventually grew up to be Bee's dad while working on it, and Puppycat left earth to run around the universe as to not be caught by the warlocks (being their target, it leaves Violet and the ship safe). He gets into Temp Space to pay for life in the meantime. The ship eventually becomes the island and earthlings start inhabitating it.
2 - In the time between that and the series, Bee's dad came to adulthood and Bee happened. THere's two main possibilities : she's either always been a robot and Bee's dad either made her able to grow (or he upgraded her body every few years), or he had a biological daughter that he later cybernitized (or replaced ala Astro Boy). At this point, we have Puppycat's ep1dream where he passes by Earth and Bee has been created, but the ship isn't ready. In my opinion, Bee's dad kinda tore the ship apart to get to the bits he needed to fix, hence why a bunch of it is in the ocean or Bee's basement. Also, Violet has Cardamon at some point.
3 - At some point, Bee's dad leaves for somewhere in space, leaving the Dadbox behind just in case. I suppose the ship componants are fixed at that point, but they need to be put together and for Puppycat to return and pilot it. I think that's also when Violet puts herself and Cardamon to sleep.
4 - Bee kind of bums around for a while. It's entirely possible that by "a while" I mean hundreds if not thousands of years. Cardamon wakes up by accident, and eventually Puppycat returns to Earth.
5 - the actual show, aka Puppycat bums around with Bee until Puppycat realises the ship is actually ready to go (as long as all bits are put back together), but since by the ending Bee's pretty roughed up they need to find her dad.
Also I guess Violet charged Bee's dad and then Bee for rent on the island? Mean. Then again it IS her ship.
Anyways that's how I see it. Did I miss anything?
