#art #mine #my art #leona #leona kingscholar #twst #twisted wonderland #humans are extinct au #aint it funny that we both used the same card as the base for the pictures?#i promise i didnt copy your idea i legit just eanted a pose that easily showed his legs #also lion paws are surprisingly hard to freehand?#i swapped out the skull in his hand for a chess piece for a few reasons #one bc he's never eaten a human so i didnt want to feed into the stereotype of sunset savannah folk eating humans #and two bc of the metanarrative of it seeming racist for the place where beastpeople are also being the ones who ate humans most often #not that i think kiame had any intention of that sorta thing i think it's just a really unfortunate coincidence #but it starts out with the weirdness of the canon africa stand-in also being mostly known for beast people living there #as in actual animal people #and there's way more horrors about real life colonial history that make the twst au feel...weird to have those real events flipped #again im not upset or calling out the author of the au or anything im just sharing my perspective and comparing and contrasting this au #it's mostly an interesting exercise for me rn #but anyway! i got tired and never finished coloring the sketch but i really liked the sketch so here!

I do love that Molly promised Nogvurot he'd return one day--and not just as the Duke again, but as himself. Thinking about King visiting that town one day, and receiving a big royal welcome. Being so beloved, feeling regal--just like he did in his dreams. Molly always meant to come back and visit someday, but he never got the chance to (would he have like to?...did he mean to return one day, with the Mighty Nein?)

But even if he never got the chance to go back, maybe one day King will wander by, and be treated like an old friend. And it'll feel like he's back in that nice dream again--

Dynamic, Interactive Card Previews on itch.io

Soooooo I got some super duper mega fancy animations for some of my one-card microgames all working and polished on itchio! 😱 🤯 🤩 🥰 The cards now FLIP OVER when you hover your mouse on them on my itchio pages! I'm so proud and excited that I got them working, and to show you all here! 😊

I also think that it's the second or third instance of dynamic, interactive animated content I've ever seen on itchio other than embedded or linked videos or GIF images! It just doesn't seem to be very common at all on itchio, from what I've seen.

It took me DAYS to get the interaction working properly for the first card... 🫠 But then mere hours to do all of the other three together! And now that I have a pretty solid process working, it'll take me even less time to add this interactivity to my other games, too! So, I'll be adding similar previews to as many of my other games on itchio as I can. Stay tuned for that! 😎

In short, I manually wrote the HTML of the pages and used CSS to animate the card flips. I am more than happy to talk with people about how I got this working if you're keen to know. Just hit me up in a chat-worthy place! 😊
