Captain Ori but she just radiates confidence and snark. She's still cheerful and has some dark nihilistic moments but she is overall doing better. She meets the gang for the first time in Montwise and sees her brother again for the first time and she says to Partitio "I can't believe you finally found your one true soulmate and he's an idiot." and then says to Oboro "Wow you look like shit"

I mentioned before that some modified troopers were more wary than others about telling their Jedi generals about their specific mutation. This is born from abuse they received from trainers on Kamino, a sense of fear that others that aren’t their brothers will think they are monsters and need to be feared.

So when they first meet their Jedi generals, they don't bring it up or mention it. They still are trying to get a feel for their Jedi and the last thing they want is to scare them away.

Inevitably they will need to use their mutation, either to protect themselves or their battalions or in battle.

Anakin was absolutely amazed at Rex's ability when he first saw Rex use it. The captain was not expecting the list of questions and enthusiasm he received from his general at all, shocked that the man hadn't immediately transferred him off to a different battalion.

He was still too wary to tell Commander Tano when she joined them.

Commander Fox didn't have much use for his mutation when he was transferred from the frontlines to Coruscant. He did not inform the Chancellor or any senators he was in charge of protecting because he'd seen how his men were treated on the Capitol Planet. Even when it could save his own life he didn't use it.

That all changed when Senator Chuchi and Senator Amidala were suddenly under direct threat...

Oh my god, this is sooo exciting!! And I love Where the Heart Is it's one of my favourite Bagginshield fics ever (everyone should read it)!

1. Haven't had the opportunity to write that many different fics but I am soo happy to be coming to the end of my very first multi-chapter fic for the first time ever!! Yes I am doing it again. And again. I can't help it. Too far gone, now.

2. Soooo many but I'll say 5 that I worked on consistently. 2 already posted, hoping the other 3 will see the light of publication sometime in 2024.

23. Oh, man. Any time I had to write a battle. In chapter 3 of Within the Waves I pull a joker and pretend that Thorin is very disoriented but it was all a ploy! I am sorry for it, but I really suck at big action scenes.

24. I like mutual pining and two characters loving each other from afar but am unable to write it.

25. I am a risk-taker. I type everything out on AO3, and a few times my laptop BSOD'ed and I lost parts of my writings. However, I am a firm believer that what is lost is a sign by the fanfic gods for me to rewrite the scene, and so I oblige through my tears of rage and despair.

28. Writing is already how I recharge, and so when a fic annoys me I either don't write at all or write something else. I also often read other fics.

10 AU Fics For Readers Who Want To Escape Just A Little Bit More Than Usual

For a fic to qualify for this list they have to take place entirely out of the canon Tolkien universe, meaning no fix it fics or change in canon fics. Tbh, most of these are modern aus… now, on with the fics.

The Ghost and Mr Baggins by perkynurples

They say that everything can be cured by saltwater - sweat, tears or the sea. Bilbo Baggins chooses the last option, taking his recently orphaned nephew and moving to the charming Oak Cottage, overlooking England’s grislier shores. The house charms him instantly, and though he knows nothing at all about the sea, or about making ends meet on his own so far from everything he’s known his whole life for that matter, he’s quite determined to stay, and see his nephew get better, odd sounds in the night be damned. He’s living in a modern world, after all, and the nonsense he’s been hearing about the house being haunted by its former owner, the mysterious Captain Durin, is just silly superstition… isn’t it?

Notes: This story tho... it doesn't delve particularly deep into romance, but the connection between Bilbo and Thorin is still wonderful. I love all the twists and turns and that it's set in the early 1900s gives it extra feels. I'm hoping and praying for a sequel everyday, like ugh... even though I know that the story isn't really built to have a sequel. Maybe like a prequel or something??? Idk, I just want more in this universe. Ghost!Thorin au. Definitely didn't cry at the ending...

The One With the Writers by Resacon1990

Whether they like each other right away or not is up to the filler.

You Want A What!? by airbellah

When the stranger repeated the offensive word for the umpteenth time, with an added innuendo, Bilbo had had enough. Punching the man in the face may not have been the best solution, but Bilbo would later insist it was not his fault.

Or, a language barrier culminates in Bilbo thinking Thorin is making homophobic slurs, and Bilbo ends up assaulting the innocent foreigner.

Notes: Obviously trigger warning for the f-slur being used often. It's always in a nonoffensive way, but just in case. Personally I think this fic is hilarious and wonderful and it's just *chef's kiss* so well written. Thilbo pre-slash. Modern au!

Learning To Dance Again by LittleLynn

The Greenwood Academy of Dance was run by the elusive Thranduil Oropherion.

Bard learnt quite a lot about the mysterious Thranduil Oropherion from the gossiping mothers with children at the school.

And the most interesting thing he learnt was that no one actually knew much of anything about him.

Thranduil, a legendary dancer, had opened up the Greenwood Academy of Dance, and people had flocked to it. He used to hold lessons personally, running master classes and beginners classes alike. But five years ago there had been a fire at the academy – a bad one, Bard remembered hearing about it. By some miracle there had been no fatalities and the school had been quickly rebuilt.

But no one had seen so much as a glimpse of Thranduil since.

Notes: This fic hurts so good. Like Sigrid and Legolas, just ugh, it's so good. I don't have a whole lot more to say, just go fucking read it and love it. Barduil. Modern au!

Winter Wish by Jezunya

What We Once Had by Chamelaucium

Thorin and Bilbo have been divorced for thirteen years, separated for fifteen and they can hardly have a civil conversation with each other without dissolving into an argument. But they manage.

Now their son Frodo is getting married, which would be fine if not for the fact that Thorin's sick father believes they've been happily married these last fifteen years, and now they have to get through these two weeks of celebrations without letting on that they're in fact divorced and living at opposite ends of the country.

But they'll get through it, eventually. Though how many tears and broken hearts and arguments there'll in the meantime, Mahal only knows.

And maybe, just maybe, they'll be closer at the end of it.

Notes: This fic is a classic. If you've been reading thilbo for a while I'd be surprised if you haven't already read this one, but in case you haven't you should be aware that this is probably my favorite modern au. It features Sam/Frodo and is just perfect in all the ways. I adore it so much and think it's more deserving of love and adoration then I am. Just read it.

au in which Maverick, Goose, Iceman and Slider have weekend in Las Vegas before going to Top Gun and they don't know each other but Mav and Ice, Pete and Tom, immediately start flirting and, by the end of the night, they're drunk enough they get married without remembering a lick of it the morning after but with all the legal paperwork in order and the rings on their fingers. But it takes then almost two days to connects the dots and, at that point, they're already in different places.

The first day of Top Gun, when Mav sees Ice sitting a couple of rows behind him, and hi husband and Slider would like to die because seriously him?! Oh god Thomas. But all Ice can do is smile and wave back.

If people give shit to Mav because nobody believes he's married to someone with a boring name like Tom, when they ask Iceman who he's married to and he answers Pete, everybody smiles along, and yeah, yeah, it does make sense. Pete could be a lawyer, a kindergarten teacher, a doctor or a botanist, it wouldn't be very relevant because Pete is the man Admiral Kazansky goes on trips with, to hike in Yellowstone Park and to skydive that time he was bored and without anything to do. Pete is the man who sometimes makes him lunch and always, always, leaves little silly notes in the admiral's jacket when he has long meetings and conferences outside the national border. Pete, who asked Tom to marry him back in '91 and said yes when Tom asked in '11. Pete is a calm, normal, borderline boring, and composed person who loves the Admiral and likes a peaceful and relaxed life.

Yeah, exactly that Pete.

(But then Tom introduces his husband to them, and they can be admirals or secretaries or janitors alike, and everyone thinks that they really really don't know Admiral Kazansky at all.)

((Mav's favourite story is about that time Ice introduced him to Admirals Simpson and Cain. Years later, he's still crying for how much he laughs when he tells the tale.))

This particular AU focuses on a team of soldierbots that don't follow the social rules that have been imposed on the soldiers, which makes those in charge of them view them as a threat. My first Orbot and Cubot AU, also has a few shapebot OCs. TWs for abuse, minor character death, possible references to torture.

Stranded AU - This is less of a solid AU and more a collection of oneshot ideas based around the same scenario. Basically, Orbot and Cubot come online one day to find they've been left in the middle of nowhere, and are trying to get back to Eggman on their own before they run out of battery. No TWs apply.

Ask Cueball - I can't really ramble much about this one yet because I worry if I do I won't finish the actual comic, but anyone who hasn't read it yet can check it out at @ask-cueball.

Axleverse - It's several years after canon and Orbot and Cubot have accidentally made a son, Axle. Axle is a mix between Orbot, Cubot, and a little bit of Egg Pawn (and the fighter code in him from the Egg Pawn can cause problems sometimes). This one's mostly family shenanigans, but there is a bit of angst along with Eggman's harsh disapproval for Axle's existence. This AU has multiple spinoffs with varying types of content, but in the main Axleverse, no TWs apply.

Botfight AU - This one started as an Orbot and Cubot AU but has since extended to the whole cast. Heavily inspired by the show BattleBots. For the part involving the shapes though, basically botfighting is the most popular sport in the world, and Eggman is a legendary botfighting captain, his champion bot is Metal Sonic. He bought Orbot and Cubot off some other inventor and has modified them against his will into fighting robots and has them "train" for the big leagues in illegal botfighting rings. This is a more recent one that I've been fixating on a bit lately. TWs for abuse, heavy injury (not gore), minor/background character death.

KyOri (Human) AU - AU where Orbot and Cubot are humans (or human-passing androids, no one really knows except Eggman) named Ori and Kyu. Erin (Ergo, the Sonic Unleashed Orbot) is also human. The rest of the cast are still their canon species. TWs for abuse, heavy injury (not gore), starvation/ED, gaslighting/manipulation.

His Faulty A.I. AU - Loosely based on KyOri AU, Kyu (Cubot) is a young computer scientist that created O.R.I. (Orbot), an AI with sentience and personality. This one's basically a slowburn "robot that falls in love with its creator" story, because I'm a sucker for that trope. No TWs apply.

Those are all the ones I have a lot of ideas for, I have a few more (Transformers AU, SA2 AU, Bugsnax AU, probably a couple more I'm forgetting) but they aren't nearly as expanded on, some of them have nothing more than drawings.

Prowl is a protective Momma Pirate XD. I’m currently decided how extensive Prowl’s piercing are. A row down the outer sides of his doorwings and down the sides of his chevron. I’m thinking one through his olfactory ridge and the middle of his lower lip as well.

I haven’t been able to plot this as much as I’d hope, which is probably causing a little of the writer’s block I’m dealing with. I like plotting things out before I get going.

Anyways. I’m debating how Prowl ended up at see with two sparkling. Is he an escaped buymech as he was in my Au August ficlet? A sailor pressganged into piracy? A mech emerged to the function? A mech tricked to go to sea with his sparkmate only for that sparkmate to be a pirate and not a sailor? A captive taken from a vessel and forced to bond to a pirate captain?

See? It’s hard to actually get anything underway when I don’t have a direction.

Thinking about how funny it is post-reveal of the mutation how the clone commanders and such use their ability to wrangle their Jedi.

Someone tips Cody off that they saw Kenobi get shot and he hasn't stopped fighting yet and he gives a resigned sigh. He tromps off to find his general with a scorch mark on his arm, he's limping on his left side, and he bruised from who knows what... and he just grows up to like 15 feet tall and picks him up by the scruff of his neck and carries him back to Helix.

Bly see's Aalya get buried under a bunch of rubble and after digging her out she insists she's fine so he tucks her under his arm and continues through the town their fighting in until one of the medics takes her.

Rex watches as Anakin falls into a pretty turbulent river and he knows he's not a great swimmer so he has to wade out and pick his general up like a cat that fell into a pool.

+ Bonus not Jedi but still fun

Hera likes to go exploring when their group of fighters settles down for a while which leads to her getting stuck in trees, caves, or on very tall rocks. It becomes Howzer's designated job to rescue her from which ever perch she finds herself stuck on. (He starts to think she does it on purpose)

slow like honey by @heli0s-writes - any and everything helios writes is top tier, but slow like honey was the first fic by them i read and it was such an experience. like truly an experience. i felt that fic from start to finish; every emotion was captured beautifully, every point in the plot from the first date to the heartache to the reconciliation fit together so well. i think if you start anywhere on their masterlist, that is the perfect spot. honorable mention though? mystery of love - steve and bucky are such distinct, but cohesive soulmates in this fic and it is such a joy reading the journey of their falling in love. and it is still one of the best fics i’ve read probably ever.

never let you go by @bitsandbobsandstuff: all i can say for this one? get ready to ache. it is such a beautiful portrayal of loss, grief, and the absolute desperation that can come out of losing someone you love. what i really love about this fic is the very, very raw look we get at bucky and steve because of reader’s death – our super soldiers are so ordinary, so human here and it hurts. it resonates. they’re just as broken as anyone else would be and it just leads to some really great spooky consequences. also love me an appearance from the winchester boys!

looking for a heartbeat by @justreadingfics: this is a recent read, but god is it intense. i, for one, love exes back to lovers fics, especially when there is some real focus on unpacking the reasons things didn’t work out. throw in attempts to move on, some well-written action, and the struggle not to fall back in all over again? i’m completely sold. the fic was recently completed, too, so it’s a good option for a binge!

parabellum by @whistlingwillows: there isn’t much i can say about this one without ruining the plot, but god it is so worth it. beautifully written with twists and turns in ways i never expected – hydra!steve is always going to hurt, but this just took it to another level. easily a top ten fic rec every single time.

ingenue by @until-we-fall-in-love: listen - mafia aus deserve hella rights and this one is just written so beautifully, both from a historical and characterization perspective. the tension between reader, steve, and bucky is damn near palpable and the whole thing is just so easy to envision - like an episode of peaky blinders unfolding in writing. there is also some appearances from other beloved characters like sam, which makes it all the more fun.

compromise by @cake-writes: i don’t think i can explain how much i love this one better than my original tags about it, so we’ll just leave it at that, heh.

literally anything by @brooklyn-boy - honestly, i don’t think i have enough words to do aura’s writing justice, so let’s just go with this: three of my all-time favorite steve fics – wanderlust; sugar, sugar; and twenty/twenty – all came from her and the list just continues to grow. the impact. the power. the talent. her characterizations of steve is my favorite and i always just want to melt into them when i read her fics. another major reason to show love? she’s moved towards writing woc!readers exclusively, and that representation is so important. love that for us!

hungry like the wolf by @imanuglywombat: i’m a big sucker for werewolf aus, and this one is written so deliciously. it’s only at two parts now, but i’m so intrigued to see how the reader progresses not just as steve’s mate, but also as someone only just now realizing she’s a wolf at all. i think the newness of it makes it a fascinating, fun read and a fresh take on the au so i can’t wait to see where it goes. 

tapestry by @darkficsyouneveraskedfor - a darker fic, this one just full of intricate plot, characters, relationships, and build-up. it’s a really well-written look at the ugly side of royalty, particularly a very thirsty greedy king and roo portrays the politics of this situation so well. that ended up being the key reason i read it in the first place too – the drama and push and pull between reader and the court is so intriguing, it’s hard to stop.

push and shove by @tropicalcap - oof. toes fucked me up enough, so to get a whole series out of it was a doozy. just a very realistic show of the way emotions and relationships ebb, flow, and cool. i think it can be hard reading fic that doesn’t have a happy ending, but honestly it’s real and as valid as any perfect ending. and i love the progression this had, it was cathartic in a lot of ways and so artfully written.

astrophile by @all1e23 - we opened this with a single dad!steve au, so it feels only right to close it with single dad!bucky. this fic is so CUTE and the will-they, won’t-they vibe between bucky and reader that builds from chapter to chapter watching them fall in love was as heartwarming as it was painful. one thing i particularly loved about this one, though, is the care that went into build ori and reader’s r/s as much as bucky and reader’s. by the end of it, you end up so attached to everyone in bucky’s found family and that’s the best thing a fic can do, i think. make the people in it real.

So, I was thinking about the coronavirus pandemic and what I could do to help people out. I’m isolated because I’m at higher risk, so I can’t really offer to go out for my elderly neighbors or my family… but I thought I could try to help keep people entertained.

Alright, I feel like I am jumping the gun.

Me and everyone else who make BBTAG crossover shit always IMMEDIATLY to everyone world hoppign and hanging out without giving regards to how it starts.

So let’s look at the situations they are in at the time of BBTAG’s first story mode (like I said No AH, SK or AB)

Going off of the endings of their Episodes, in Blazblue we see Ragna leaving Noel to be found by Makoto, Ragna chewing out Rachel, and Hazama having System’s Crystal. All of these could be wrapped together.

Small retcons could be made to explain Noel’s outfit, Azrael being there we could just explain as the BB crew knowing his reputation, but I have NO excuse for Es being present.

I should really make a novelization of BBTAG that actually gives a more serious twist onto this.

Persona and Under Night are more gag endings, with Persona ending in a high school AU, and Under Night just resulting in the battle royale in Kanzakai.

RWBY just ends with the team back in the dorm with their system crystal.

Now for my idea, assuming that everyone keeps a Keystone, 1. Not too sure if Hazama will end up with it (he will eventually for some special bullshit) so either Rachel or Kokonoe. 2. Assuming that Yu will telport back to Inaba with his friends, then Aigis would go along too and Yu would hand the System crystal over to Aigis to give to Mitsuru back at Shadow Ops HQ. 3. Not too sure on Under Night, There’s no real Big Good in Under Night and we haven’t seen too much of Licht Kreis’ top brass to get a feel for them, so Under Night is up in the air. and 4. Ruby keeping System in her pocket and then tyring to hide it only for her to be discovered by Ozpin and all the shit that follows because seriously RWBY should be the LEASt prepared to deal wit comsic other worldly bullshit.

That is where the peices lie, but the next big question is......why?

WHY do all the charactrs start coming over? Who is the first one to try and reach across dimensions and have an interdimensional skype call or something? Rachel would want System locked up so she doesn’t cause any more damage plus she doesn’t want other worlds to get dragged into their cosmic game with Terumi and/or cause distractions, and I doubt the Blazblue bag guys want to add MORE variables to their complex plan of manipulation. I don’t see any other reason for the other keystone holders to connect. I could only see the more friendly main characters wanting to see their interdimensional buddies again but goign to all that trouble seems like much.

BUT, if soem heroes start coming over to Blazblue world and making friends and helping them out, THEN the BB baddies might start getting nervous and just call on the bad guys of the other worlds just to get some man power to keep these new guys off their tails so they can keep their o.g. plan on track. With IDK the promise of ultimate power or something, destroying their worlds and the  gving them the power of Observation to make them the gods of their world

And then there is a HUGE division in the characters with factions and such:

With Blazblue you have the main Coup with Kokonoe Tager, Makoto and Noel (this is before CP but after CS) with Kagura and Hibiki helping on the inside and Celica most likely still being made, Jubei is training Jin, Platinum is with Bang, Ragna is with Tao, and Carl are all on their way to Ikaruga for various reasons. Litchi joins the NOL and Tsubaki is brainwashed.

You have Litchi joining the NOL because she wants to cure Roy no matter the cost and Kokonoe is being a callous bitch

Bang would speak of Kagura being a traitor to the NOL and how Jin killed his master Tenjo

Then if any of them run into Bullet wanting to find the truth about what happened to her captain from Kokonoe only for Koko to sick Tager on Bullet to kill her.

Tager not being able to disobey Kokonoe due to his programming and Kokonoe doing a LOT of shady things

These things do not seem liek they’d make the other good guys think that the main “good guys” of Blazblue are trustworthy.

For Persona, you have the Investigation Team and the Shadow Operatives. To keep thign ssimple let’s just have the og. Arena Shadow Ops here since having Yukari and Junpei (how have their own jobs and lives) and Ken (who quit so he can have a normal school life) would be a bit much.

Mitsuru would be professional and treat this like the serious mission that it is, but the I.T. mgiht still want to help out their new friends. Adachi is arrested, and SHo is off doing whatever, and Igor and the Velvet Room dudes only show up for the Wild Cards and don’t exactly seem like they’ll join in on big meetings

Then you got Under Night In-Birth, You’ve got Hyde, Linne and Waldsteina as the main crew, with Vatista also being there. Orie is with Lex, Kaguya and Mika as the local Licht Kreis squad, with Wagner and her two attendants there o probabtion. Carmine just runs around and beats people up. You’ve got Amnesia with Hilda, Chaos and Enkidu, with Gordeau being hired as a Mercenary (not a full member) due to his depression. Merkava is also running around doing his own thing, so are Seth and Yuzu, and no one gives a shit what Byakyua, Phonon and Nanase are doing. I’ll have to wait for cl-r to come out to see how Londrekia will fare in all this, but then we’ve gotside guys like Kuon, Azel, and tons of other side characters.

Under Night is hard because everything story wise we’ve seen has technically been a prologue in Chronicles Mode, and Arcade Mode is a mish mash of events that don’t know which is canon, and all of them make Hilda look like the biggest chump in the universe.

For RWBY, in Volumes 2-3 they are in a time of peace, not feelinjg too good after the Breach, and I doubt they would want to stick their noses in an interdimesnional conflict if it’ll come to bite their world in the ass. Cinder and company are trying to lay low since they are undercover, Roman is arrested on Ironwood’s ship, Adam is off preparing the WF for the Fall, and Salem and co. are doing.......whatever they were doing for the first 3 volumes.

Blazblue character: No

other person: PLEEEEEEASE!

BB person: fine

other BB character: Whassup we’ve got a world government to overthrow

other characters: Oh shit that seems bad, want some help new BFFS

other Bb characters: Sure *Brofist*

Hazama and the others: “Oh shit this is not according to keikaku” *calls other bad guys* “Hey, if you help us take care of your enemies we’ll give you free candy...I mean world omination...or......I DON’T know just get these kids off my lawn!”

and then go from there.
