By @artsofhindostan Colours in the desert... Fairground Attraction, Oil on linen, Rebecca Campbell Pushkar is unlike anywhere else in Rajasthan. Mysticism, religious devotion, magnetism and an enchanting cattle fair! All of these draw devotees, backpackers, hippies and New Age types. In this charming vignette from the magical world of Rebecca Campbell, we are asked to engage with a scene in a corner of the Pushkar Camel Fair. Camels here, camels there, camels everywhere! A proud owner parades his camel while five villagers squatting on the desert sands are probably discussing the merits of the beast while smoking beedis! Rebecca is an expert with colours and we are treated to an explosion of colourful turbans in contrast with the tan hues of the stark desert and the pensive camels. International selling British artist Rebecca Campbell lives and works in London. Her paintings have been described as “delightful, enigmatic and highly imaginative. They have an impeccable sense of colour and design, coupled with a touch of humour. Rebecca’s world is one of variety, eccentricity and joy.” Her influences are eclectic. She has traveled extensively including three months spent in India, seeing first hand Mughal miniature paintings with their rich earth colours, bold design and exquisite attention to detail. These influences remain the bedrock of her work. #camels #pushkar #desert #ajmer #rebeccacampbellartist #indianarchitecture #britishart #painting #artcanhelp #rajasthanmen #rajasthan #rajputana #rajputarchitecture #camels https://www.instagram.com/p/CIVeKC-Doep/?igshid=2v3rr494tq5o

By @artsofhindostan Laila Tara H is an Iranian-British artist with a specialty in contemporary Indo-Persian miniature painting based between Tehran and London. Raised across the world, she paints largely autobiographical reflections of a life navigating cultures. Using traditional methods from both East and West in a contemporary context, symbolism seeps through the imagery and into her means of making. She draws inspiration from the rich history of Indo-Persian miniature painting while keeping a foot in simplicity. Join Laila as she holds us enthralled in a talk about Mughal and Persian miniature painting and migration. @llailatarah @artsofhindostan @onefinedaypictures #mughalpainting #safavidpainting https://www.instagram.com/p/CIVdRgSDh2U/?igshid=82e8orxlczh3

Driving through the villages of Haryana. I stopped by some field and saw women working for Methi; cutting and preparing for market. I asked them for some fresh methi for my home and asked them to tell me whatever is required to pay please take from me. They said with generosity that we are sitting in farm land not market please we wont take anything. So after many request yet didnt take. This is welcoming and generous nature of Haryana. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIDyPrdjG5P/?igshid=r6tdbq8wly4v

Mehta ni Vav also famous as Pancham Maheta ni Vav is one of the famous step well to visit in Vadnagar, Gujarat. This seven storey ancient step well is located opposite to Yagnyavalkya place and built in 16th century, by a local leader, Pancham Mehta, for providing drinking water to travellers. Though stepwells were common in Gujarat and Rajasthan during the medieval period, this Vav is unique. It has two wells and is linked to a water channel with carved outlets from which to drink water. This arrangement was for those who wanted to drink water but didn't want to climb seven storeys down. #stepwell #vadnagar #panchammehtanivav #mehsana #gujarat #history #heritage #16thcentury #builtheritage @theheritagediary@sidharthbhayani @gujartatourism (at Vadnagar) https://www.instagram.com/p/CH6htv6DfUu/?igshid=1fj4ohhp2ls1s

Kirti Toran Vadnagar. a pair of 12th century columns supporting an arch, about 40 feet tall built in red and yellow sandstone, just north of the walled town. They stand majestically on the bank of Sharmistha Talav, on a road going down from Arjun Bari. They are among the few surviving examples of the entrance gates, once a regular feature of the architecture of Gujarat in Solanki period. The carving style is similar to the Rudra Mahalaya at Sidhpur @theheritagediary @siddharth.bhayani_ @gujarattourism #gujarat #heritage #heritageofindia #tourism #iggujarat #gujarattourism #exploregujarat #traveldiaries #garvigujarat #tbt #bts #history #gujarat #vadnagar #kirtitotran https://www.instagram.com/p/CH3LT1Bjz6N/?igshid=92tolchphu6n
