I think something that genuinely kinda hurts to think about is that to a far greater degree than the rest of the Thieves and divorced from the mechanical necessity of RPG party members immediately befriending you to get the plot moving and bolstering your party, Ryuji kinda seems like he latched onto Joker because he was *lonely*.

As I said it's to a greater extent than the rest of the Thieves, so while others (especially Yusuke and Makoto) are lonely, the enforced isolation imposed upon Ryuji by Kamoshida is rather central to his and that arc.

Like, he has no more friends at school because the ones he did have turned on him after he hit Kamoshida, the rest of the students now regard him as a delinquent and are even further TOLD not to associate with him by teachers, and the teachers themselves look at him much the same way they do to you, thinking of him as a burden lumped upon them.

There's something so earnest and sincere about Ryuji immediately opening up to you, giving you his number, asking to hang out. It goes beyond what's just expected in one of these sorts of games and is reinforced by the fact that Ryuji, before you and the Thieves, was lonely.

Had an idea where if a Persona User dies in the Metaverse then their Persona will try to save them from death via fusion. Decided to do a quick Akechi and Ryuji just to get the idea out of my head. (In a timeline where Ryuji might have died during the escape from Shido's Palace) They would gain their Persona's abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, but also gain a weakness depending on how they died.

So like Captain Kidd, Ryuji would be weak to Wind, but have an additional weakness to Fire due to dying in an explosion.

While Robin Hood's and Loki's weaknesses would cancel each other out, but due to his death in the engine room, Akechi would have a weakness to bullets.

I just thought it was a neat idea :>

thinking about an alternate universe where you can hear your personas speaking to you in the real world… the rest of the PTs ask ren why hes been hanging out with akechi so much and he goes “Well the Leanan Sidhe in my brain think he’s cute and keeps telling me to go see him. It’s like subliminal messaging” and they’re like Oh yeah 🤔 That makes sense (he fused her away months ago)

Tho those kinda sound like ship names…O.O….Im sure that’s out there so I won’t tag it like that 😅.

i've been writing like crazy all of today and i'm halfway done with ex machina chapter 9! here's a wip

“Crow!” Ann dodges a swinging fork. “You’re okay now?!”

“Yes, I’m fine.” A Kouha pierces cleanly into one of Kamoshida’s eyes. “I’m—Panther, I truly apologize—”

“My god, it isn’t as if you chose to do it! You know you say sorry way too often, right, Crow?” Ann unlatches her whip and cracks it over the arrow of light lodged in Kamoshida’s eye, driving it deeper in; a guttural scream resounds in the air. “You’re here now! That’s all that matters!”

“Cowabunga,” Ryuji roars as Captain Kidd crashes into the side of Kamoshida’s cheek. He hops off of Kidd’s deck with a triumphant yell, and proceeds to hysterically bash Kamoshida’s nose with his spiked bat. “Take that, and that, and that you stupid bastard—!”

And Goro watches, again, as Kamoshida’s slobbering tongue wraps itself around Ryuji’s boot, and tosses him unceremoniously to the floor.

If Captain Kidd ever met Long John Silverbones, I swear those two would be the greatest friends/rivals ever and who knows mabye one day they will meet

I had to look them up as I haven't found a pawn shop or flea market that sells the game. This man is like a reverse Captain Kidd so those two would be frenemies. Poor Ryuji getting dragged into their bickering matches as both rip into each other.

One betrayed his king while the other been betrayed by his own crew. The sheer irony if those two ever met would be nuts. And I excluding the fact Skeleton monsters are practically common.

Anyways! Have some more human!persona!! Bc I have started writing the next part of my fanfic series, featuring an AU of Royal's 3rd semester with suspiciously human-looking persona.

(also,, the word 'gypsy' was used bc I did not know that it's considered a derogatory term. I am smarter now and will not repeat it; it was used on Carmen's Wikipedia page so I took it from there)
