The weirdest thing about watching Invincible is seeing Ollie still be a cute lil baby while knowing exactly what's gonna happen.

Like of course it's like that for everyone. Rex, Rudy (aka Rex as well itc). It's especially painful watching them drag out Amber and Mark's breakup and sitting there like that one Frank Castle meme.

But it's different for Ollie. Watching this cute baby coo while they try to think of a name for him just, idk it hits differently. It's like I receive flashes in my mind.

i would like to ask an honest question... would you genuinely recommend reading wind and truth... i Did like szeth but the last time i thought about stormlight archive was when rhythm of war came out; im afraid ill have forgotten all that is important for the 5th book that is im sure very very long 😭😭 thank u for ur opinion 🙏

hmmmm i dont think i can answer that bc while i enjoyed the book im like. in it you know. like im in this. been reading these things for a decade. i know so much bullshit about nine hundred different magic systems and like the metamagic system that connects them. ive invested (haha) so much time and energy here that unless some insane factor came into play there was no way i wasnt reading this book. if you dont feel that strongly about it but still care about these characters and want some answers to series long mysteries tbh i still think you should try and check it out but like at the library bro. that hardcover is expensive

#i dragged myself out of a very disheartening reading dryspell to get through this book and well i did it.#like yeah recent cosmere stuff has fallen a little flat for me and i think after reading sa5 i finally pinpointed why #but i still had like. unless it was REALLY bad i cant drop this when ive invested so much and i do still enjoy reading these #and so yeah worth the read but wait for it to be available at ur local library maybe #and you know what i enjoy critiquing books as well im not losing anything by reading something and posting what i thought #asks

hey guys so I just started reading Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott and OMG AHSBNSBSBSNSNBSHZHSHDBFHGGHFHGRJ2KSHSBSNSK AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I LOVE THINKING ABOUT THE RELATIVITY BETWEEN DIMENSIONS!!!!!!

#probably the nerdiest thing i will ever read in my entire life but I AM SO HAPPY #Its the unabridged and corrected 1992 republication btw. if you wanna get specific #the only book in which i have actually decided to read the introductory notes and i do NOT regret it because the editor's one IMMEDIATELY #brought up the “oh but surely the second dimension has thickness how else would flatlanders see anything” AND GAVE A REALLY GOOD ANSWER.#which i cannot tell you here. bc it is several paragraphs long and idk how i would shorten it. i would hit tag limit. if thats a thing.#anyways. I'm only a little bit into the first part which basically explains how Flatland works as a society so i haven't even gotten to the #sphere yet but OH MAN I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED ABOUT A ROUND OBJECT IN MY LIFE #IM LOSING IT OVER THIS BOOK AAAA :D #me: im so glad i dont have a math class during my senior year! now i dont have to learn anything math-related!#also me: but what if i started studying a complex and almost entirely theoretical part of geometry #bc YEAH i didn't just buy this book bc of gravity falls. okay okay I promised I would provide list of roger's favorite books, so here is what I've collected:

Slaughterhouse Five and...everything else by Kurt Vonnegut (he apparently has read all of his books several times over and considers Vonnegut one of his heroes - he loves how his writing style encourages "lateral thinking")

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey (another he's read multiple times and cites as very influential. he hates the movie.)

Catch 22 by Joseph Heller

poetry/novels by Jack Kerouac (especially important to him when he was younger)

favorite science fiction authors (aside from Vonnegut): Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark, Ray Bradbury, Theodore Sturgeon, Aldous Huxley (sci-fi appears to be by far his favorite genre)

other authors mentioned: Herman Hesse, Thomas Mann, Cormack McCarthy, Norman McClean

other poets mentioned: Gregory Corso, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti (beat poets that influenced the early rock scene)

#Very random‚ impromptu rant:#I just spent the last one and half hour converting to text the five pages of Asagiri / anime directors interview–#at the end of the season 4/5 guidebook #(I've been wanting to read it for forever but only got around doing it now because of research for Akutagawa's birthday. Long story.)#Fast forward to one and half hour later‚ it's 3am‚ I need to study‚ I need to sleep.#I ctrl+f Akutagawa's name. And it appears??? Three times????? For a total of two paragraphs only???????#I'm severely disappointed. I expected at least some talk about the ss/kk Fukuchi fight.#I go to the first paragraph. It's a paragraph talking about the Sigma / Atsushi / Oda parallels–#where Akutagawa is just tangentially mentioned. At this point I'm like. Okay. Probably should have picked a better way to spend the night #I go read the other passage‚ which is also the very last passage of the whole interview. Akutagawa's name is mentioned twice. It goes:#(Director Igarashi) “That's why I needed to show that Akutagawa had returned from being a vampire.#No matter how dramatic the battle between Fukuchi and Fukuzawa was‚ no matter how successful Dazai and Chuuya were‚#I wanted the story to end with Atsushi and Akutagawa. That's because they are the center of this world.#So‚ naturally‚ I thought it should be them who had to conclude the story.”#Which is. Well. Something extremely heartwarming and emotional to read if you're a ss/kk fan. Kinda made up for the initial disappointment #And I'm rambling‚ because I feel like this thing I went through really exemplifies what it's like to be a ss/kk fan...#Igarashi-san sir if you acknowledge Atsushi and Akutagawa “are the center of this world” (your words)‚ why not bring them up sooner.#This is **precisely** like that one time Asagiri was like “omg ss/kk are soooo important their relationship is ever changing they're soooo–#pivotal to the b/sd storyline and central themes. That's why I cant write any novel on them or include them in any of the extra content 😛”#Like. Man 😭😭😭😭#Point is you WILL get your ss/kk paragraph you just have to sit through 2558 words about other characters beforehand.#You WILL get your ss/kk moment you just have to sit through 50 chapters before finally reaching the moment where they magnificently defeat–#the main villain together with the power of gay love.#.........
